Why bother? It's not like those nicknames will stick after we find out her true name. Well we did get an ingame Prothy the Prothean reference with Javik.

hopefully her name will be hamisha named after both her mother and father, the latter having been of Scottish heritage and a professional thief or burglar and ryder will comment ahh so your hammburgler the second i'd heard his daughter was on this mission .....

Actually, Hamburgler is just a nickname, given to her by her father ... who was a human industrialist and CEO of a large interplanetary and planetary transportation conglomerate.
Her given name was Aleena, the name originally given to her mother ... a traditional family name ... before her mother reinvented herself into her current incarnation. When she was young, Aleena lived with her father, on Earth, in Hamburg, while her Asari mother was neck deep in "politics" in the Terminus Systems. Both parents agreed that this was the best option to keep her safe and provide a life separate from that chosen by her mother.
She was quite a handful, growing up. Totally uninterested in academic life or being tucked away in a secluded monastery, she was always getting into trouble, with a significant case of happy feet and unquenchable curiosity about all things. It seems the Asari apple didn't fall far from the tree, her father was forever bailing her out of minor scrapes with authorities. After her older half-sister was killed by Kai Leng, both her mother and father agreed that a trip to Andromeda, on the Ark ship, was probably safer for her than to remain in the MWG.
Using her mom's political pull with the Asari Counselor and her dad's connections building the Ark ships, Aleena was secured passage to Andromeda. Her nickname followed her.

Blasto came from BSN? Damn, must've been before my time. Yup. Was a joke squadmate someone made up. A Hanar who could carry like 15 guns.
I think Paragade was also from BSN, if I'm not mistaken. I also recall a email you get that was a reference to fangirls' love of Thane prior to ME2 launch. The one someone sends you after the Thane recruitment mission. It was almost word for something posted by a certain forum member (can't remember her name), but slightly reworded to fit in the game (it was a salarian who sends the email I think). There may be others I just haven't thought of. Bioware is known to take forum memes and put such easter eggs in their games. Not sure if we'll get any of that type of stuff anymore.

Not loving the face paint myself, but other than that, she's sure to be more interesting than the Mary Blue OP took the name of, so... it's a strong "meh" so far.

There are already multiple threads discussing her looks, which I think is completely shallow, considering we don't even know her. But eh. She's obviously a companion. What else do you need to know?

Also in game she is looking fine.

At the moment its not known if she's a squadmate or crewmember.
Nothing attractive about her, but than again there was nothing attractive about the species

Admittedly I didn't like her on the first trailer in which she appears for a couple of seconds but now after I've seen her again in the PS4Pro gameplay video I actually came to like her quite a lot. Ofc much will depends on her character but I'm positive she will be cool. I also don't like her facepaint but maybe we will be getting alternative costumes like in previous games. As mentioned previously we don't know anything about her. Let's wait for the game before whining about her. Shall we?

There's many people in this world who have wonderful personalities who wouldn't be considered "attractive" by the masses. AKA....it's rude and shallow. And frankly, these developers have worked hard the last few years to bring us this game. They finally show us a character and the internet outbursts cries of "EWWWWW FACE PAINT. EWWWWW EYEBROWS. SHE"S UGLY!!!!!" Gamers are some of the biggest whiners who are never satisfied in my humble opinion. Rant over.

I found that ironic with your avatar of you romancing a birdy alien made of scales but then "de gustibus..." Touchee. Different strokes for different blokes. I for one have never like the Asari species, but I don't find this one particularly ugly.... because I don't think anyone in Mass Effect is ugly. To prove my point, a lot of people find Garrus "the birdy alien with scales" unattractive, but I love his personality.

If a game is ruined because of ONE character (that may or may not be a squad member), I don't think you enjoy many game...... As for how she look, don't matter for me. I will play the game and IF she will be bland or a crappy companion I will not use her. I just hope she's not a new Liara.
