Peebee (Official Thread)

Exactly. Now I don't want to derail this thread into a Sera debate. I like Sera. I think she's a great character, and has some endearing qualities even if she can be incredibly frustrating. But her views are extremely narrow and she's willfully ignorant of the bigger picture. Her heart was in the right place generally, but she only saw things from her specific side - she had no empathy for Dalish elves or mages, little understanding of military or politics, and so on. Now, I had no real issue with her killing that noble asshole (hell I'd have done it myself maybe), but it is an example of a situation where she put her personal feelings ahead of the Inquisition's needs - the guy was offering up resources toward our cause, which could have helped us defeat something far more dangerous than he was. She could at least have let us hear him out. Same with her attitude toward what we learned of the elven gods. That was information that could help us figure out what's going on and why and maybe defeat it, and give us a better understanding of the world. But she refused to even consider it because it contradicted her established view.

Could PeeBee be similar in that she'll be willing to put her stubborn pursuit of knowledge above all else? Even if that knowledge is dangerous? Possibly. It'll be interesting if that's an aspect of her character, and it's certainly one that could make people dislike her. As an academic type, I feel she must be open-minded and willing to look at things from different angles, where Sera would reject facts if they contradicted something she was more comfortable believing - a character flaw that made her really hard for me to deal with at times. The only thing about PeeBee that makes me think I might not like her is that she's supposedly 'bubbly,' and I tend to dislike 'bubbly' female characters. But I'll wait until I meet her in game to see what that means. Seems kind of silly to hate her for that before I've even met her.
