It is consistent with the lore. One reason the Salarians "uplifted" the Krogan race is because of their resilient physiology. They needed help to defeat the Rachni, and Krogan could survive the harsh conditions on the rachni worlds to fight them directly. But you said that even if there is an explanation in game as to why the Asari don't need to be fully armored, (which means it's part of the lore) it will still look like the blue-space-chicks trope. The lore can expand and Mass Effect has alot of unexplained things that I'd like to see explained in this new game. We have alot of information about the Krogan and how their species is highly resistant to environment hazard but for the Asari we simply don't have enough information yet. Since both the Asari and Krogan have a long life span, it would make sense for the Asari to be highly resistant too. But that's just my opinion. The Asari are a long established race, if they had an unusually resilient physiology, they have had plenty of time to mention it by now. And the explanation attempts with biotics and mass effect fields sound more like space magic to me. It is always mass effect if they need a reason and don't find one. On the other hand we have Miranda wearing a breather mask instead of a helmet, like all the other humans do, and she was designed to be eye candy, too. The problem I have with this isn't if the Asari have a high tolerance against environmental hazards or not, but that the designers apparently put the looks first and everything else second. It happens too often with female characters in video games and I had hoped things were improving in that department, but maybe that was just wishful thinking.

I think no matter how resilient a species is in their natural state, they'd be exponentially more so wearing proper protection. If I were Asari or Krogan, I'd still want to know I've done everything I could to try and mitigate unknown threats. It takes so little... just wear a damn suit and a helmet. Absolutely, if we could get an answer from the devs on whether or not PeeBee wears a full helmet like Liara's then that would imply she can get body armor. So far we've just seen one of PeeBee's outfits. i'm sure she has some alternate ones in the game.

As someone was wondering, Biotics do not protect from environmental hazards. And we haven't seen anything that indicate that asari are more resistant to those kind of things than humans. But in Mass effect even "regularly" humans are special, Zaeed don't use full covering armor when we are in dangerous places for example. It is only the PC that is weak.

Has it been revealed if it's more like ME2/ME3 where they have a set selection of a few outfits? Or is it more like DA:I where their outfit stays consistent to a style... but still responds to custom pieces you craft/assign. I have to think the latter. Seems a waste of a crafting system if Ryder is the only beneficiary.

Edited: Hanako found your answer.

It happens too often with female characters in video games and I had hoped things were improving in that department, but maybe that was just wishful thinking. I understand what you mean when you say that the looks comes first in many video games and I hate that too, but I don't think that's the case with PeeBee. I think her outfit was made to reflect her personality and not how hot she is. It has some sort of Indiana Jones/uncharted vibes that I like. A person like her and with this kind of personality would definitely dress like that. Miranda was alright for me. I just hated how the camera kept going you-know-where while she was talking seriously. She was a very interesting character that deserved alot more than those cameras angle. She was beautiful, smart, talented with a shitty past. She knew how attractive she was so what's wrong if she was confident enough to wear a catsuit? For how I see it, we should all be able to dress how we like and feel comfortable the most, feminine/sexy/boyish/whatever. It's up to the others to look at us with respect. Many judge by the look and that's wrong. The problem was never Miranda and her design. The problem was from the eyes that looked at her and couldn't see more than a cheerleader wearing a tight catsuit or someone to bang. (Again, the only wrong thing was the camera) While one can disagree with how Mass Effect handled the outfits, I think most of the females characters were great and none of them was there just to please the male audience or whatever, I even dare to say that I find the female characters much more interesting than the male ones. (Can't say the same about many other games) Every outfit reflected their personalities. The only thing that they should have added was an option to put an armor to all of them during the missions. But this is just my opinion and I respect your POV. Sorry for the long post and for any mistake. English isn't my first language and I responded while I was kind of busy

Yeah in one instance where you walk in Liara's room she is having a conversation with joker and you can choose to support Liara or Joker. Support liara and Joker's question about her tentacles gets dropped by Shepard, support Joker and liara answers it with that quote.

*snip for space* I will not debate this or take this off topic, I just want to say that my "problem" with for example Miranda (and other people in ME2) was that we are going to a place where they are going to shoot/burn/throw and generally try to kill us and people are going in almost naked? How they dress on board I don't have a problem with, I liked Jacks outfit for example (it fitted her personality). But when I am going to trust you to have my back I want to know that you survive longer than your barrier or shield. This become longer than I thought, sorry. I will just sneak back in the shadows.
