Peebee (Official Thread)

All of this great art and I have no more free surfaces. My PC, Laptop, IPod Touch and Cellphone are all occupied. 

The nickname makes a lot more sense now. Peebee, P.B. - spelled out phonetically. And on the Star Wars thing, most writers do that for droids, especially common droid characters (i.e Threepio, Artoo etc). Likely just flows better in text.

I have no idea why they chose to have us going for so long with the name. When did they reveal her full name anyway?

From a character motivation standpoint I'm fine with it. Some people prefer to be referred to by their last name, some shorten some or all their names to initials. It could indicate many things, a desire to keep people at a distance, or close off part of themselves from the outside, or something less moody. I actually wonder if she'll be like Kasumi, using humor to deflect personal glimpses into her life.

I'm sure there'll be a "Don't call me Pelessaria" moment. Whether we're the ones that do it is unknown.

This presents another question. Will we be recruiting these squadmates ME2 style in the way that we're briefed on the character beforehand?

For example: we have to find PeeBee and we're given a summary of her before the mission.

So, mostly random then?

My guess is that's a little too Liara for a badass loner Asari explorer who's far less socially adept than the rest of her society. Don't get me wrong, I love Liara, she was my favorite romance, but I really, really doubt we'll recruit PeeBee via rescue.

What if it's the opposite? We answer a distress call (not necessarily PB's) we somehow get inside a vault and trigger something we're not supposed to and PB is the one to get our team out of there because of her knowledge of the vaults?

Well given earlier comments from the Devs, I recall them mentioning Ryders first contact with Peebee was how she tackles them.

“Her mind goes quickly as does her mouth,” Walters says laughing. “It’s hard keeping up with her. In fact when she meets you, she just goes up and tackles Ryder. Just because she’s an asari don’t expect her to be anything like Liara."

So based on this, I imagine something along the lines of we end up somehwere that shes investigating. and we maybe scare her or she hears us coming and hides, either way she ends up tackling Ryder. At which point my Ryder would hopefully be able to make some flirty comment/bad joke xD.

I drew some fan art of Peebee the 1st time I saw her in the trailer. I was too hyped. Wanted to share here since now I'm a member of this forum! I will draw some fan art of Liam and Jaal soon as well.

Yep--I remember when Inquisition was coming out that I was certain Vivienne would betray us in the most fabulous way possible and Solas was just the nice, safe mage character who's sole plus was being voiced by Ianto Jones.

Boy how fucking wrong was I.

I do want to do some art like that, I just have to kick the rust off my drawing skills, not to mention figure out what my Ryder will look like, maybe some inspiration from moments in the game...

It sounds similar yet different. Basically, Liara uses her knowledge of Prothean relics to trap herself -- she wasn't intending to do that, but she effectively protected herself from harm until someone like Shepard could save her.

My guess is that in contrast Peebee will probably be running and gunning, using Remnant tech to distract and pick off her enemies one by one and buying herself time until Ryder rescues her.
