She looks fine to me. If I can endure Miranda's default outfit I can endure the purple one. I'm more concerned with her personality, I was deeply disappointed with Sera, hope she isn't similar (from the 1 minute I see that it is possible but unlikely).

I guess this could be somewhat due to the fact that young for an Asari isn't necessarily that young for a human, which could account for not having a super teenager-y voice. Which, if she's a romance option, could be kind of squicky anyway.

I don't have a problem with the character design. It looks like an Asari with facepaint...which is pretty much every other Asari I've seen in ME.

Add another one to the list of people who don't understand the hate for Unnamed Racoon Striped Asari. From what I've seen of her so far in the trailer and previews, Ursa looks like she'll be fun companion and her character design is pretty cute.

The moment I felt "I'm totally OK with this girl" was when we listened her voice in the Sony event: she has a voice with character, she's serious during the mission, and she has a little of clumpsy fun but she is very capable at the same time.
That and her outfit.
A person with that outfit cannot be bad!

Also, about the outfit: I think they decided to show her in her normal clothes in order to show a little of her personality. In the EA2016 trailer last summer, she was clearly wearing an armor

I had that reaction to Sera when I first played DAI, where on my first playthrough her character really grated on me. It was only on my second time playing the game that something fell into place and she ended up being one of my favourite companions.

Maybe Ursa will annoy the living daylights out of me when I finally play MEA... but since we've only seen around a minute or so from gameplay and a quick glimpse on a trailer, making that assessment and jumping on the hatewagon seems excessively premature?

Her wearing a paintstripe over her eyes is no weirder than any other Asari marking themselves with intricate facial tattoos? Nor Turians wear colonial markings? Or humans wearing war paint? Or Mordin appearing to have the outline of a Reaper between his horns?

(Although that last one might be sheer coincidence, but I digress)

Having a seasoned or older Asari would have been nice, but I don't necessarily mind someone who's still relatively young (compared to most Asari).

What I really want to see from the Asari (and the Krogan) is a character who can really sell the idea that this character has been around for hundreds of years, witnessed history and been around the block so many times that they could have carved a friggin' moat in the ground.

Having two species in-verse who are so long lived would and should give them a unique perspective and alien way of looking at things from time to time, when considering the long term implications of something that our protagonist as a shorter-lived species might not agree with. From their perspective of course humans look reckless and impatient, much as we might consider Salarians being that way when it comes to their YOLO approach to science and/or uplifting species.

A meld with an Asari that gives us a brief glimpse into some of the things they've seen over their life would be rather intriguing. Perhaps if this was with an Asari romance option, this could be a fun way to give us the "lifespan talk" that we've often heard alluded that inevitably happens when Asari get involved with another species.

Ursa? Did you name her, or have I missed something?

I'd love another Sera type.  One of the best BioWare characters of all time.

She'd shoot up to one of my favorite teammates to hang around with if she did that in game.
