I usually just call her "that Asari" since she's the only one we've seen. I do like the Hamburglar Asari moniker and how funny would it be if her named turned out to be Ursa.

That is something I asked myself for months now: What if she is this Cora from the survey which was released few month/years back (don't know the exact date anymore. But a lot of that surveystuff proofed right so far. It never stated that Cora is a human. It just stated that Cora is a biotic.) If I'm wrong please correct me  . I'm not thaat sure. As for the OP: I like Hamburglar, but would go with Asaru or Coon, too |

Hamburgler still makes me giggle.
My question is, will Bioware catch lightning in a bottle twice and make her the Sera of MEA, the polarizing comedy relief that people either hate with passion or love with pride, with no middle ground, or will they miss the mark by trying too hard to make another Sera?

Not a bad idea. It would be a hoot if she's also Shep's daughter.... unfortunately, I can't think of something that can make it plausible. Unless, very early in Shep's life, he met this Asari (Aria) at a bar somewhere (not Omega) and things developed from there.

I'm a big Sera fan, but I don't get the Sera vibe from "Aleena" in the limited exposure we've had of her.
If I were to compare "Aleena" to anyone in DA, it would be Varric ... but I don't think that is what they are trying to do with her character.
"Aleena" could be the youngest daughter of a prominent ... shall we say infamous ... Asari who wants her daughter out of the Milky Way, for reasons beyond the Reapers.
A smart Asari smartass, perhaps a bit shady at times, but because she's younger and less cynical than her mother, "Aleena" is not the ruthless type (yet).
