They are worse than that. They are unremarkable. Office clerks saving the world.

I don't see aliens everyday on the street, so that gives them a head-start. And as far as looks go, they should be distinguishable from other alien npcs. Without usage of special this-is-companion hats preferably. _{Like one-in-the-universe armor for example.}

Guess I've failed to express my thoughts again. They should be distinguishable without forced unique feeling. Like, do you have a cat? If yes, then you probably can tell it from other cats. You don't need it to have a horn or something for that. Same goes for aliens (oh, hello there, Ashley). I.e. if Drack is the only krogan with a beard then I find such design lazy.
And I guess that's enough off-topic from me, somebody should have reported me already.
