Remember N7 being the designation for "special forces"? Maybe C8 stands for "recon" - in the skills menu on the right it did say "Recon Specialist Level 56". I'm curious to see what the other alphabets stand for.

BansheeOwnage, I suppose that it's somewhere between a "What am I getting myself into" sort of grimace and a "So this is what being Pathfinder is about" sort of helpless laugh. Maybe Ryder had just become the new Pathfinder, and already the requests are stacking up.

Few grabs from the intro: Finally, the bob from the front! A bit more swept than I hoped for, but it'll do. Ugh, that armor. Yeah, not my favourite either, but at least it isn't boob armour. Also, C8 ??? I hope the huge open mouth smile is optional. Much prefer closed mouth smiles. Prepare to be disappointed then We won't see customization that intricate for a long time. A long time /Obi-wan. This is pretty much the first time we're actually seeing open-mouthed grins or smiles in Bioware games, actually. If they can pull it off, more power to 'em. But this one looks a bit awkward so far. See below: sauceCan you make it somewhere tropical? Nice, warm ocean. Summer year round. It would help to see the scene properly, because like the VGA trailer, I can't really tell exactly what her expression is supposed to be, here I mean, I think she's grinning, but it looks like an unusual grin. Anyway, I feel like I'm the only one who isn't enamoured by Sara at this point, ha. I don't know if I'm just bad with faces, but I haven't really noticed much change, positive or negative, in this trailer or any others. Maybe if someone did a shot-beside-shot comparison? Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely glad she looks like a normal person, but I feel like the odd-one-out right now with all this fangirling happening around me Woaaah she is little!!! I don't see the different size before lol

Few grabs from the intro: Sara's face just screams "I'm smiling to be polite but Jesus it still feels like my tits are freezing off and I haven't eaten in 600 years, so can you kindly go fuck off with your 'tropical' shit?!" Not the best quality screenshot, but it should suffice to keep track of the improvements made for now I agree, she looks way cuter! The eyes could look a bit more lively and in the beginning of the trailer (the cutscene) her grin was slightly exaggerated, but her hair looks like its blowing in the wind and she has a super nice and natural smile in that screen! Ugh, that armor. It's definitely not my favorite one I've seen with her. I appreciate the idea of having more unisex armor and not having it obviously look like boob plates, but there are better middle grounds. In fact, both the armor she wears in the character kit photo and her N7 armor we see from the statue are SO much better on that front.

Woaaah she is little!!! I don't see the different size before lol I don't think she is that short, to be honest. It looks as if she is sitting down, because in the beginning of that clip, Sara leans back and you can see her leg move a little in the video. Sorry the image is so small, I have no idea how to post bigger ones!

I have some experience in editing and toying around with BioWare's character models, and they tend to all be the same size so they can share the same armature/animations.

Here's a side-shot of the previously talked-about bob, since people (including me) were thinking about using it on their Ryders. Here, according to the thread about the Amazon pictures, is either a blond male, blonde female, or redheaded female science officer sporting the cut. No wonder eye-witness testimony is so unreliable Shall we take bets? I thought it was a blonde female, myself.
Not that it's a super helpful shot, but at least it's another angle. Oh, and it's parted to the left. Still looks pretty good for Sabine, KirkyX It's not perfect, but still close enough. (It's actually closer to her Series 1/2 cuts than the Series 3 style in this comparison.) Now, about those colour options, BioWare... *pweaseface" 3. You are, sadly, probably right about who'd get the protag role. But yeah, I was thinking more along the lines of them alternating within the trailer, like the Fallout (launch?) trailer did. It worked there, it can work here. Obviously I think they should actually alternate between trailers, but I'd still like to see them both once. Not only is it not too much to ask (how can "can we have the same amount of X?" possibly be too much to ask?), but it would be smart for marketing. I mean, isn't that obvious? You get effective marketing out to more kinds of people, getting them interested. I can tell you it works both personally and otherwise. First, I saw stuff for ME2 on the old Xbox 360 dashboard back in the day. The cover looked like a scifi shooter with another generic 30-year-old white guy with short dark hair. Didn't draw me in to know more. Years later, the ME3 demo was out and I decided to give it a try - I like scifi, after all! I've never seen a description of a game that said whether you could play male or female and this was no exception, so I didn't know I could until launching it. Holy crap, what's this?! The hero can be a woman? Keep in mind, I hadn't played any RPGs at this point, so this was both the first time I could choose as well as the first game I played to have a female protagonist (both because they were even more rare back then and because my game library was small). And ME3 had a whopping one trailer featuring female Shepard*. Congratulations Bioware, you missed out on some potential customers and fans who did the same thing to ME3 that I did to ME2 by having poor marketing. I didn't play Skyrim until four years after it was released because I didn't know you could play as anyone but that Nord guy seen in 100% of the marketing - and I did see the marketing. Knowing I could actually mix things up a little and play as a female (or any other race) would have been very helpful, and I know I'm not the only one. Bethesda very nearly didn't have an additional customer. Second: Don't believe me? Well, my girlfriend told me about a small game developer asking on Reddit (if I remember correctly) why Bioware games have an even split for gender among fans, because they wanted to succeed. The answer is simple: You can play as a woman. So obviously actually letting people know you can do that in your game is paramount if you want to tap into 50% of the market. Therefore, market it accordingly. Bethesda is improving (Fallout 4), but it and Bioware still have a ways to go. DA:I was an improvement over ME3, but it's not hard to improve on garbage (try it again). My eye will be on the next TES as well. *And they didn't just call the trailer "ME3: Reinstated" (Just another trailer, normal, like all the others). No, they had to call it "ME3: Reinstated (Femshep trailer)", emphasizing the problem you mentioned above: That even according to Bioware themselves (at the time), the female variant of the protagonist isn't default - she's some "other", "alternate" protagonist. Come on. If this wasn't the case, proper marketing would occur without effort. So that unintentionally-long rant brings me back to ME:A and the fact that, quite frustratingly in multiple ways, Bioware still can't even live up to their own promise of equal marketing. So I don't find it at all hard to believe that some people didn't realize you could play as a woman. Didn't want to do a gigantic multiquote response just this once, but I just wanted to say that this whole passage is the perfect illustration of why representation in gaming - in the games themselves, but also in the marketing - is so important--not just socially, but commercially.
If you don't mind, I might use it in future to help illustrate this point to the, ' But why does it matter???' crowd. (Well, that's assuming I ever actually work up the will to get into that kind of Internet argument again...)

30 something generic short haired white guy here. I prefer games where I can either play as a woman or have the choice to do so - I think it is because it gives me a different experience to the one I have every day. I don't need to know what it is like to be a man. One of my favourite games ever is life is strange (fuck off Warren you weirdo) as it is so far removed from my personal experience I find it genuinely interesting, beyond the game itself. It's a whole new layer. I think another thing for me is that we get bombarded with images of men saving the day in virtually every form of media - having a woman save the galaxy felt genuinely new, even if the plot and dialogue was largely the same. It's the same reason I really like the new tomb raider series, it's just different. This has been further complicated by having two daughters under the age of two and wanting them to, when they are old enough, hopefully join in this hobby. What better way of doing so than showing they can play as the gender they are and save the world if they choose? Finally I have to confess that usually my characters tended to be gay- I'm still a guy after all - but that all changed when I played inquisition. I was gutted- absolutely gutted I tell you - when I found out dorian was gay. My femquis never got over it. I like to think that shows me growing up a bit too. It's never too late

Sara's smile is probably in response that she most likely rather be back in Hawaii on the beach drinking her pina coloda instead of being where she's at.
If I do use her for my first playthrough, I most likely have her with red hair with it tied in a bun. If there's the option to have her with curly hair, I would choose that style instead.

At least I haven't seen it confirmed anywhere. From the Codex: The Alliance Military Vocational Code system classifies the career path of all serving personnel. The MVC consists of one letter and one number. A soldier's MVC indicates proficiency, not rank. The letter notes career path; the number indicates level of experience, as indicated by service record, technical scores, and commendations. All 26 letters are used, and numbers run from 1 to 7. N is the letter code for Special Forces personnel.

It's unrealistic, because in real life majority of women are short than men.I beg to differ (taller than 85% men around me) edit: maybe more...how many men are above 190cm? edited quoted post, because I could

It's quite possible that there may be an explanation for it in the game though. It wouldn't be the first series to rewrite their lore. Star Trek did it from TOS to TNG. So it's quite possibnle an exdplanation is incoming
