Pre-orders (Official Thread)

I just want to see everyone opinion on this. If you could pre-order Andromeda deluxe edition for 50.00 US dollars instead of 70.00 would you? I'm in a situation where I can get 20 bucks off this game.

This item will be released on March 31, 2017.

Is that subject to change?

Haha, I got into this on another forum about these and multiplayer. Basically, pre-order if you want to cheat, spend $10 extra if you really want to cheat, and spend $40 extra if you super-deluxe want to cheat! No problem with offering skins and physical goods for extra $$$, but anything that affects the balance I'll label a cheat.

The only items I'm interested in are the cosmetic ones: the pathfinder outfit and the Pyjak. Not worth the $10 though.

The outfits and the soundtrack - quality dependent, naturally, but I really like that one track someone scraped out of the Andromeda Initiative Briefing, distortion aside, and it's not like the franchise has ever disappointed in this regard before - make it worthwhile to me, though I'm not gonna make a final decision on which version to get until closer to launch. I like the idea of the Pyjak - love in-game pets - but the ME3 cyberdog was kinda terrible, so...

Not fussed at all about the multiplayer pack/packs. And the Pathfinder guns... Well, they could be pretty cool, but I kinda hate the way pre-order guns tend to mess up the early-game progression curve? Fallout: New Vegas has one of my very favourite early-game balances, for example - it's particularly impressive for such a huge open world game - but the pre-order guns/armour kinda ruin it, so I normally just don't use/install them. It's a shame, 'cause I really like some of that gear--I just wish you got it at an appropriate time, rather than at the very start of the game.

if the prices for packs are similar to me3mp and dai then the big packs are around $10 each, so the super delux pack offering you 20 of them means your going to be getting 18 of them for free, and staggfering th e release across 20 weeks means your not upsetting the balance or reducing the bug for some folks to buy them .....

given that we know there always include some form of pay to win element I don't have a problem with that, I just hope they don't try being cheap and actually give out the premium grade packs as part of the pre order bonus for the top tier game or there going to suffer a huge backlash from the folks that expect that

quick question but does anyone know if this game will be in the EA vault when it releases next year or not ?

I don't really consider this to be cheating for the multiplayer.  We know the multiplayer will be cooperative horde-mode.  So having a better weapon or character unlocked using the RNG store won't upset the balance and won't mean someone gets taken advantage of.  It's co-op.  Also, as someone else mentioned, the packs from the super deluxe come out ONE PER WEEK!  So it's just one more pack per week, which should not affect balance.  If it's anything like how the pack system worked in ME3 MP, people playing a lot off the get go will be collecting these packs about every hour or two.  If it's slightly different and harder to get the best packs, I'm guessing committed players are still getting 1 per day, at LEAST 3-4 per week.  So one extra isn't "cheating".  And since the RNG is confirmed again, it's not like those with the super deluxe edition will be able to get a Black Widow X on day one.  The packs as described by the Pre-Order information only affect the balance as much as if you play 30 hours per week and I only play 5.

Still holding onto my wallet till I find a PHYSICAL DeLuxe edition for PC with PHYSICAL soundtrack. If possible, with a PHYSICAL artbook as well.
Once I can order one of those around here, I'll consider one of those toy cars which supposedly come with a metalcase to store a PHYSICAL copy of the game.
So far, I haven't even spotted a PHYSICAL standard edition for PC..

Maybe.  With Mass Effect 3 the pre-order weapons were eventually included in paid DLC's, but the armor from Gamestop was only if you pre-ordered.  The Pathfinder helmet (and other possible goodies) might still be claimable after release as long as BioWare still has the website active.  I was able to get the weapons for a similar event for Dragon Age: Inquisition shortly after launch, but I was told that the website was taken down some time after the game's launch.
