My personal "WOW!" moment was when you first arrive at the Citadel in ME1. Prior to that, while the Eden Prime sequences did pump me up for what new adventures I was going to have, it was this specific moment where I suddenly realized "Oh my god! This was going to be special!"

This was going to be special!" Arriving on the Citadel is the most memorable and let me realize that this game is quite expansive. I started playing only 2 months ago and I am now going through ME2. I still get surprised how much there is to do. Missions are plentiful and good thing ME 2 assignments have more variety then just driving the Mako around.

I 3rd that pick. Arriving there for the first time made me totally love that game. It kinda gave me the same feeling seeing Babylon 5 the first time.

I played Mass Effect 3 first and knew absolutely nothing about it when I started.
Though watching Earth as Shepard left in the Normandy was both amazing and heartbreaking (even for someone with no attachments to the characters), the first true "wow" moment for me was when Kaidan initially romanced me (I say he romanced me because he took me completely by surprise). I'm gay, and the only other gay experience I can remember in gaming is the cheap and often times annoying gay romances in the Fable series.
The scene was so genuine and well written. The music setting the stage, while Kaidan talked about how this could be the end of life as they knew it, and expressing his regrets in never finding someone... mind you, I had NO idea gay romances existed in this game, so you can imagine my total shock when what would be my fanfiction started happening before my eyes. When Kaidan said "Someone?" and Shepard responded with "You, Kaidan" my jaw hit the floor and I couldn't believe my ears. This was the moment that I realized this game wasn't just for bros who like shooting stuff... this game was for everyone. (In case anyone read all this crap and is wondering: Yes, I have since played through the whole trilogy and loved every moment).
