Kallo Jath, the piloting Salarian (Official Thread)

[TILTS HEAD] I'm gonna say that we better be careful about calling him 'Strawberry'. I've sorta had a theory since his artist put up those images of up face in detail, but, any offical pics of his have been too hard to tell from.

I'm pretty sure Kallo's actualy blue-grey, not pink-orange.

If you at Kallo's forehead and neck in this image, they're very dark, almost purple, and they have a grey tone. Especially his horns--they don't appear to have any pink tone at all.  I don't think it's shadow, since he's sitting in front of a glowing orange screen. In fact, I think it's this glowing screen that gives him the impression of being pink? Which is a little sad, since I like the art of him being pink, but, him being blue-grey would be a new color for a main Salarian character, so, neat!

Oh, no. I mean, look at his fanart. I was fifty-fifty on him actually being pink. Heck, my Sim versions of him are pink with a lot of red highlights.

Yeah, I wasn't sure if they'd just really changed his look between then and now, or if it was just lighting. Pretty convinced he's grey, now, though.

So... stab me if this seems weird, but doesn't Kallo's mouth look... erm... less... salarian? Like, it looks... more human-like than usual? Maybe that's a sign? Ahem? Maybe...?

Sorry False hope, I'm sure. Wittle salarian pilot boyfriend would be so cute though.

I'm fully bracing that Kallo is going to be awesome. His narration in the debrief was killer -- a total nerd and really into his job. And the fact that he keeps getting shown in some capacity makes me think that he's going to be a memorable character. He's at the top of my "must meet" list right now!

Off topic answer!

He's Crys from Phantasy Star III.  It's an old-school 16-bit RPG for the Genesis that I was obsessed with as a kid.  It took place over three generations and at the end of each generation you married and your kid(s) was the protagonist of the next generation.  There have been a few games like this since, but this was 25+ years ago, so it was super engaging and innovative for the time.  Crys was my favorite 3rd generation protagonist, so I use him every once in a while as my avatar on message boards.  He's just obscure enough to satiate my hipster needs.....

Because why imagine when you can compare?



Kallo's lips seem to have more a pucker to them, but without another MEA Salarian to compare to, I'm not sure if it's not down to an upgrade in tech and graphics.

Doubtful, if only because the most puckered lips from the original trilogy appear to be Mordin's, and he's probably the oldest Salarian we see in great detail.

This would be interesting and kind of cute/hilarious. Imagine he's only, like, 7 LOL Maybe that's like 21 in salarian years. This eager young dude so excited to be a part of this expedition.
