Kallo Jath, the piloting Salarian (Official Thread)

!!! Good catch! It looks like he's got long sleeves on, with cuffs that come out almost to his fingers. I wonder if this means we'll see more of the species anatomically? I have forever wondered why so many Salarians have, like, a handlebar on the front of their suits. Style? Easy-access to many tools? To make other species stop and stare in confusion? It just makes me think Drack could pick Kallo up like a suitcase. [PAUSES] But, looking at Kallo, it looks like he doesn't have the handlebar. Maybe it's a combat-only thing.

Also, I love those little, ah, cheek-markings he has. I was making, or, rather, trying to make a Salarian in the Sims 4, and I gave mine cheek make-up that looks quite a bit like that. I love it. .... Are--are they Salarian freckles?

Did they seriously give us a Salarian redhead with freckles I am dead.

That does look like skin. I have always wondered what they looked like without gloves.

I've always figured that's here to protect their concave chest. ( Pectus excavatum ? Don't know much about it, but their chest goes in instead of out. ) I think their heart and lungs can't be well guarded in there. That's why they have it on combat outfits, but also on some regular ones, though not all of them. Also their armors basically only cover with hard surfaces their ribs and thighs where the arteries are the most exposed and I assumed that's because Mordin said they're more cartillage than bones compared to other species and it's designed that way to keep their flexibility.

Pretty sure he would have had to already prove it to made the ship's pilot. That's a lot of money and tech to put into any one's hands with an unknown skill set.

But yes, he does look younger than any of the Salarians we've interacted with in the past.

Well, he's probably proven to be a good pilot. He'll just have to prove that he is a GREAT pilot.

[PONDERS] I bet Kallo's some combination of the two. He knows what to do, he's very smart, and he's flown the Tempest for a long time. But flying in practice/simulations means nothing when you have to have actual combat. I doubt that he's STG, because we've seen that before. So I think he's green in that aspect.

A part of me expects to be having a lot of conversations after escaping certain death.

KALLO: Why would that have been fun? You were almost caught in a pyroclastic flow!

KALLO: From a volcano erupting acid.
RYDER: ...

I just gotta say, that strawberry comment some pages back has been stuck in my head. Every time I see him I think, "He does look like a strawberry! Awwwwwww. " And I just want to hug him and squeeze him he's so cute !

I originally started calling him jaffa cakes in my head because when he first said his name on the Tempest and Nomad briefing I thought he said Kallo Jaff. But no he's definitely a strawberry and I still plan to draw him ahaha

Just read an article about our squad and under Kallo's bio it said another planned Salarian was a cut squadmate due to the game growing too big. What a shame!
