Have you ever read John C. Wright? He is an amazing author. Just wrote that one down as well. Never heard of any of these authors but I do not read as voraciously as many.

Should really add what I'm currently reading. Just catching up with Warren Ellis' Injection series. Not really into graphic novels but I make a couple of exceptions - Warren Ellis' imagination is quite wonderful. And just finished

I am almost finished the Ian Banks culture novels so I will need a new good sci fi series of books recommendation. I like on going series or universes such as the Banks Culture one or Larry nivens known space. Recommendations? James White and his Sector General series, my wife's find from a few years back on the list of all time favourites ever since.

I wanted to read the book before I started to stream the tv series. I finally did. It's been out about ten years now. Not my favorite from Neil Gaiman, but it's a good read.

Recently finished Vox Day's "SJWs always lie" and "Cuckservative", so just ordered my next book, William S. Lind's "4th Generation Warfare handbook". s19.postimg.org/ekrztuk5f/41pr_AHSZCYL._SX298_BO1_204_203_200.jpgDescription from Amazon: The best part? I didn't have to spend a single penny on it, as I got it for free thanks to Bing Amazon creds.

Taking a look at the Titanborn series. Seems like an interesting mix of cyberpunk and space opera. Titanborn: Collector.Titanborn Series Book 1: Titanborn (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B018CHA2RI) Titanborn Series Book 2: From Ice to Ashes (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M3WP9N4) In this gritty and innovative science fiction thriller in the vein of Philip K. Dick's Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, turmoil on one of Saturn's moons rattles Earth's most powerful citizens--and draws one planet-hopping rogue into a fight he never saw coming.
Malcolm Graves lives by two rules: finish the job, and get paid. After thirty years as a Collector, chasing bounties and extinguishing rebellions throughout the solar system, Malcolm does what he's told, takes what he's earned, and leaves the questions to someone else--especially when it comes to the affairs of offworlders.
But his latest mission doesn't afford him that luxury. After a high-profile bombing on Earth, the men who sign Malcolm's paychecks are clamoring for answers. Before he can object, the corporation teams him up with a strange new partner who's more interested in statistics than instinct and ships them both off to Titan, the disputed moon where humans have been living for centuries. Their assignment is to hunt down a group of extremists: Titanborn dissidents who will go to any length to free their home from the tyranny of Earth.
Heading into hostile territory, Malcolm will have to use everything he's learned to stay alive. But he soon realizes that the situation on the ground is much more complex than he anticipated . . . and much more personal.

ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51EZY56N99L.jpg"Aztec is a 1980 historical fiction novel written by Gary Jennings. It is the highly lengthy life story of a noble Aztec (more properly Mexica) man named Mixtli, or "Dark Cloud." After the Spanish Conquest, Mixtli is asked by the Bishop of New Spain to tell his life story to a group of friars who are recording his story for the King of Spain. The novel is notable for being one of the first ever depictions in media of the Aztecs as heroes, rather than villains, though certainly there are plenty of both among the Mexica pre-Conquest. It is also notable for not shying away from graphic depictions of both sex and violence (and sometimes both at once), as might be expected from a society like that of the Mexica."
This is one of, if not the, greatest book I've ever read. The writer Gary Jennings meticulously researched the world of the Mexica and that combined with his writing makes the world come alive in vivid colors in the book. There is no moral judgements by the writing of the Mexica and their cultures: it portrays all aspects of the culture(s), good and bad. No romanticizing , no demonizing. The story is magnificent and captures that rare feeling of having characters that are portrayed in a manner that makes them feel truly human, for good and bad, to such a degree that you could legitimately believe that Mixtli is not a fictional character but was a real person who had his life written down. The same applies to the other characters and even the way his life as well as theirs unfolds, however tragic that may sometimes turn out to be. Action and consequence, good and bad, is nicely in effect throughout the whole story. I wish I could talk about the story itself but it is a story that I feel work best with the reader unspoiled. There were truly and I say this without exaggeration where I had to stop reading for a moment because I was overwhelmed by events that had transpired. It's a book that also managed the rare feat of making me actually cry. The book does a very good job at making you feel invested in the characters and the story even when they strive down dark paths. I should give a fair warning that as I said, it portrays all aspects of the culture(s) and that includes the darker aspects. It portrays and explains more than a few of the Mexica rituals including the ones that entail human sacrifice but it feels like it is there because it is part of Mixtil's world and his culture, not because it's there to invoke bile or horror in the reader. There is plenty of other instances of graphical violence as well as instances of graphical sex but it does not feel superfluous. As the book was written in 1980, it is of noticeable age but I want to note that despite this, the book does not does show its age which is a credit to the book's dedication to its character and setting. As a result, the writing is timeless. You can also thankfully find copies of the book easily online and to good prices. It is available on kindle and as paperback. I wanted to write this because I wanted to share the experience this book has brought me and because I hoped that some of you guys might be interested in experiencing this breathtaking book yourself. This book has left an imprint on my heart and I hope it does the same to you.

Don't let the bodice-ripper cover fool you.... its a war/fantasy novel dressed as a paranormal romance. But the romance was really lacking (mostly it lead up from previous books therefore no build up or character exploration beyond friends with benefits), albeit still funny but the larger story arc kinda make up the entire book... basically, a culmination of a war between Dragons, human and dragon-human fighting against One-Eyed tentacle-y God's zealot army that broke mountains and blind themselves to worship their one true god..

I watched a video essay that referenced this book and have been listening to its audiobooks while gaming. Basically, a psychology book of mature masculinity of men. Honestly, its just an exploration of archetypes of men in literature or religion. Which is helpful for one of my WIPs..

Escape VelocitySpace Zombies.
Lieutenant Wyatt Wills stared at the words of his mission log. He couldn't believe he had written them.
Juliet was a colony world with twenty million people. It had resources and infrastructure, scientists and law enforcement. Being assigned a reconnaissance mission to the thriving planet hadn't made any sense. Then again, lots of rumors floated through space, and stories of martial law and a strange pandemic seemed no different.
These were not the things that RESIT, the Remote Environment Search and Interdiction Teams, typically managed. Their job consisted of deep space rescues and keeping the interstellar shipping lanes clear of pirates and smugglers.
But marooned on Juliet, Wyatt knew what his squad had seen.
He just didn't know if any of them would live to tell about it.He had me at space zambies! Plus that sample preview was quite nice.

Been enjoying this series, about a poor(ish) Welsh gentleman working his way through the ranks of the British army during the Peninsular War. Bit of a Sharpe knockoff but still enjoyable.
