I thought mass effect andromeda's characters looked a little too plastic or rubberish cartoonish looking compared to the last trilogy and the fighting port looked too much like a multiplayer and it also looked to over the top arcade-like I was expecting more of a realistic looking game. |

I don't know if someone already pointed this, but in the main fight of the video, there is a small wall for cover like in Mass Effect 2. So it seems that play-style is still available for those who prefer it.  Also, Drack looks like an older Krogan. Perhaps "too old for this shit".  |

Although it looks like Vetra might at the very least be a bisexual option. If I had a Twitter account, I would ask if Vetra is interested in a long-term monogamous romance. I hope they show some game play on a PC and not just use the "By PC players for PC player" line again and don't show us any. I won't buy it until I see some actual game play with a PC. I don't own a console, so I have no interest on how it plays on those.
To me is looks like DAI with a ME skin. Will need to see more though. I hope that's not the case...

What do you mean by realistic? Aren't you confusing realism with verisimilitude? Because Mass Effect may be the later but it was never realistic to start with, after all it's a sci-fi with high tech spaceflight and gravity manipulation technology where you can "shoot fire/lighting from your hands or charge against a target at highspeed". |

The visuals look gorgeous and I'm pretty happy overall. I agree with those who thought the combat looked too fast and furious. It all seemed very chaotic and confusing which is not going to be helped by the lack of pause play. *snip* I think the person in control was playing that way on purpose, I guess to emphasize the sheer mobility of combat. I noticed quite a few indications to "get in cover to recharge shields" pop up, which Ryder promptly ignored, the vanguard charging hell beast they are lol This was all cut together footage anyway, aiming for the most action possible. I'm sure you will be able to play at a more comfortable pace, even if the lack of pause play does make me slightly doubtful in general. |

I will buy it (did already in fact) But yeah, I hope they do a better PC port this time. The inventory UI was a horrible console version, I hope it will be a bit (lot) more PC friendly in the PC port. Also the HUD UI infight was to big for a PC screen. Again classical console UI... And yes, I expect them to make sure the UI fits the platform. Otherwise I loved it. Every single bit. Drack and Vetra look awesome and i hope they show us more about them soon. It has fighting and conversation and driving around and murder mysteries and #SpaceBears and awesome companions and collecting and crafting and story. *_* And I really love Ryders bouncy walk and the fact that she doesn't try to break her spine with every step b/c her hips sway so hard I get back aches just by watching. Also she doesn't walk like a gorilla. |

Did FemRyder take on a Bounty Hunter Quest? Does M4 hints at quests with multiple missions? Is the Nexus involved (ie: Drack's "..kicked off the station..")?
Our Intrepid heroes arrive at this port controlled my warring outlaw factions. Interesting, enough, this scene gives us many clues. Two of the factions are the Anarchists (Turians only?) and the Raiders (Salarians only?)
About the Port
Definite a step or two above Val-Royeaux. There is an illusion of an active market area.
About the Aliens
For one;
Never seen a female Turian b4. Very human female-like from torso to knees. Garrus has these robot like hip joints. New look for the species? I wonder if Vetra is as flexible as a human during combat. Garrus, if you recall, was kinda stiff moving sideways. The male Turian near the up ramp appears to have tusks.
For two:
The first cluster aliens we see on FemRyder's left look like those in the N7 trailer.
For Three:
Blood scanned reveals its DNA is a cluster species known as the Angara. Maybe item two and three are the same species.
The Game in General
About Hair
The source of many sighs...
FemRyder's hair looks dry. She needs to use both a volumizing and moisturizing shampoos. Maybe even a gel to give it some shine.
Kelly (the local Aria) took her cue from DA:I hair stylists. I'll leave it at that.
About the Nomad
What can I say? It has speed and spits out mud into the camera lens. Also, you can activate the mining comp while riding in it.
Ryder
No ass straps so far. She has access to SAM... her personal AI/Comp? She's recognized as the Pathfinder by Kelly. While scanning she is in contact with someone else. Would that be LIAM (the ex cop)?
About Terrain
The HUD shows both depleted and rich areas and to toggle the mining computer. I believe this is a mechanic to force you to explore if you are looking for resources.
About HUD
HUD design is clean and informative. The navigation bar at the top shows you the number of enemies and at the bottom it shows you your weapon, current load type, icons for your two companions and the Powers locked to you're buttons.
About Combat
As I suspected. If you're poor at mobile combat, this game will dominate you. One of the species you fight are the (Angorans?). You can PAUSE during combat and change your loadout. The navigation bar shows red dots for active enemy forces but do not indicate their strengths and type. Hydra Mechs are indistinguishable from a grunt.
Hydra Mechs drop from the sky. Really Bio? You are giving us this shit? At least show us the cinematic that they jump off an air shuttle.
The AI controlled companions where somewhere (that's LIAM and the mystery girl). However, during that hectic combat scene, I had no clue what they were doing. Actually, I felt I was fighting alone. Only when I slowed down the cinematic a couple of notches, did I notice.them. Combat is disorganized and chaotic. If not, it sure looks that way.
BTW, the Khet have an Annoited and a Chosen.
Resource Gathering/Collection
Welcome to DA:I equivalent limitation on Item gathering... 40 to be exact. Is that their personal backpack? Is that the max storage area of the Nomad? Why is there a limitation?
I suggest you watch the trailer in slooowww mo. otherwise, you miss a lot. I know I did.

Unlike the 30 minute Mike Laidlaw DAI demo (which had a little more space)
this was a 5 minute trailer.
I'm sure more will follow, but this was a specific slice of gameplay for a specific circumstance, every second had to count, so it was a dense presentation.

A dev (don't remember who) said her name on twitter. Also it said her name: Vetra Loyalty Mission on the right-hand part of the screen during one section of the vid. she's fugly! Why couldn't they use Scott in these? He's far cuter. I just realized who Sara reminds me of (try and unsee *this* from now on) -- wait for it -- Rodney Dangerfield. She could be the daughter of Rodney Dangerfield. One thing that's bothering me - slightly - is that Sara and Scott just don't look like brother and sister to me. Overall, I can see it needs polish and the fighting does look chaotic. I played MEMP to death though so perhaps I'll be ok. While Drack was speaking, his mouth wasn't moving. I hope they're going to do something about that. |

The trailer was almost perfectly in line with my expectations, ME with liberal splashes of DAI so I'm (still) anticipating a game I'm going to enjoy but the trailer didn't blow my hair back or anything.
I've been trying to envision this with virgin eyes and no prior Bioware/ME baggage but it's hard, I'm curious about how people who haven't played ME or paid much attention to Bioware would make of this trailer.

About the Aliens
For one;
Never seen a female Turian b4. Very human female-like from torso to knees. Garrus has these robot like hip joints. New look for the species? I wonder if Vetra is as flexible as a human during combat. Garrus, if you recall, was kinda stiff moving sideways. The male Turian near the up ramp appears to have tusks.
To be clear I agree on a lot of other points but... Uhh what about Nyreen? Vetra doesn't look so different? *´¨) ¸.•´¸.•*´¨) ¸.•*¨) (¸.•´ (¸.•` ¤ Mass Effect Andromeda
As I've said. I've never seen a female Turian before. There are two ME3 DLC I do not have. One is the Citadel and the other is Omega ( I think). |
