I have a feeling Vetra will have somewhat of a soldier mind set and attitude. Granted any personality I will be more than accepting of and work with.
Maybe she'll be cold and distant at first, and will warm up to you the more missions you do with her, and the more she gets to know you. I like that style personally. Makes the reward of winning her that much more satisfying.
One story I can see playing out, is that she comes from a well respected military family, and that perhaps, they pressured her to be the best all her life. To live up to her family name, to bring honor to it, etc. So when the Andromeda Initiative came about, her father or mother's military influence, granted them a spot for Vetra to embark on the journey. Vetra, wanting to please her family and bring honor to it's name, agreed to go.
However once she arrives to Andromeda, and realizes what she sacrificed to go on this one way trip, falls into depression and regret. She might become more entrenched in her work and put up walls against any kind of deep relationships. Then Ryder comes along, and through the journey tears down her walls and gives her peace and new sense of purpose. I know it's not confirmed, but rather hinted that Ryder loses their father in this story. So that might cause an emotional catalyst for Vetra to start to care for Ryder, and open a door to an even deeper bond.
Whether this happens or not is of course to be seen. I'm rather a sucker for a damsel in distress, so I hope it's somewhat similar.

So if we need to get anything off of high shelves we can't reach, we know who to talk to. Maybe it's all a ruse and she's wearing high sole shoes.

Thats an excellent prediction Spat and one I hope is true as well.
Maybe her family stayed to fight the Reapers on Palaven and Garrus told her family about the Reapers and thus they wanted to stay.

Thats an excellent prediction Spat and one I hope is true as well. Maybe her family stayed to fight the Reapers on Palaven and Garrus told her family about the Reapers and thus they wanted to stay. Thanks pal. That's kind of what I was thinking too. If she has a father or mother in the high ranks of the Hierarchy, then they have an idea that there's something going on. They say this takes place during ME2, so they probably have information regarding the collectors at least. Staying to protect Palaven and it's colonies from a possible invasive force would seem likely, since whole colonies were going dark around this time. Now another reason I didn't state before about her being cold and distant, is because she might have a distrust with humans. For one she's Turian, and if she comes from a military family, I guarantee you she was fed anti human propaganda growing up. So another big barrier will be Ryder proving to her that humans aren't what she was raised to think, and thus make her more curious about the species. Another reason depends on what Bioware decides to be cannon for the result of the Sovereign attack. If the council was left to die by Shepard, which was the default choice if you started ME2 without an ME1 save. Then that makes her distrust with humans even more of a problem. She might actually question your decisions and be rather disobedient to you in the beginning because of this. This will cause personal conflictions. She was raised to be a good soldier, to follow orders.. but was also taught that humans aren't trust worthy. Now she's taking orders from a human.Again, this is ALL speculation, however, I hope this is what will happen. It will lead to a LOT of character development, and character development creates emotional attachment and immersion.

Thank you, much appreciated.
I was thinking about how bioware confirmed that indeed there will be loyalty missions for our squad members. Now assuming that my speculation about her character is correct. Mere conversations with her won't change her mind about you. It's going to be what your actions are. Turians seem to be like that as a whole, they care about what you do, not say.
I've thought about possible loyalty missions and what they might be. The most possible, in my mind, is that it will deal with helping the Turian pathfinder team directly. They might find themselves in a bind, maybe they get attacked or go missing. If Ryder chooses to help them, and succeeds, then you have proved to her, that there's more to you than what she thought. If she was a jerk to you in the beginning, she'll come to you in private and apologize for her attitude towards you, and proclaim loyalty to you. This can open the romance dialogue, and further the relationship.
Also bioware was talking about how some relationships are care free and that some might want to hit it off right away. I hope this isn't the case for Vetra. I hope for a hard fought battle for trust and love. Earn that Turian tussle.

I really appreciate that they put in the extra effort for Vetra. It was really obvious how hard they worked on Iron Bull. I didn't know if they said "never again" or what. Just had no idea if they felt that was worth the extra effort on their side of things. I hope they keep this momentum going.

I do like that some of them start right away. I remember in DA: Origins, you can begin the romances immediately if you really wanted to. This satisfied me when I got to romancing in Origins. It even surprised me that you could even begin kissing Morrigan despite that you just met her in the game. That said, I don't think the romances that start right away will be like that. Maybe one or two will, but I was thinking mostly that your interactions would start becoming more romantic immediately once initiated.

I wonder, if in case of Vetra they will go with Nyreen's voice hue/tone or with voice hue/tone of that Citadel DLC turian chick or maybe they will come up with something interesting for her.

It'll be cool for Vetra to be that tall. It'd add to the dynamic their relationship has (assuming there is one beyond just working together). Heh, and that means Ryder will have to go up on her. If her personality is as described above (by-the-book, strict, etc. while on duty, then more relaxed and mellow when she's off the clock), I think it'd be interesting if she thinks of it as maintaining a facade because it's how a "good turian" is expected to behave. Like, as soon as she's off-duty, she takes the mask off and is able to be herself, and thinks of it as feeling like she can breathe for the first time all day. And maybe, as time passes and Ryder gets her to loosen up more, she finds the need to put on that mask fading until, eventually, she doesn't bother with it anymore. I'm probably way off on that, since we know nothing at all about her so far, but I think something like this would be a nice character arc for her. I think it'd also be a refreshing change if she's more of a scientist or engineer than a soldier, since we've already worked with plenty of turian characters who were focused on combat.

I'm still leaning toward not a good turian for Vetra. In a totally different way than Garrus, of course, as the devs reportedly went so far as to cut squadmates thought too similar to other characters. And actually Garrus really wasn't that bad a turian - he was dutiful, honorable for the most part, interested in the greater good, and was fine deferring to authority provided it had earned his respect. He also tended to agree with the turian point of view on most issues. Anyway, a good turian, with her duty to Palavan and respect for tradition, wouldn't necessary go on some wild foray into the unknown.
Which leaves some intriguing possibilities:
All the 'hippy' accusations in the Tempest thread make me wonder if she's just not into the turian values of military and war. Maybe she likes the idea of joining a more diplomatic effort away from the 'good' turians who want to police the galaxy. Or maybe she's a former mercenary, who would no longer be welcome among her own if she wanted to shift gears away from that life.
It'd be interesting if she were a turian with a very un-turian personality. Someone really snarky and irreverent, or someone very sweet and friendly, or, conversely, violent and reactive. Not necessarily saying she'll be any of these things, but I think Andromeda gives us a neat opportunity to meet characters who don't quite fit with what we expect of their species. And I would personally find Vetra a lot more interesting if she was the opposite of a by-the-book turian, in whatever capacity.
Also, I'd love to hear her speak already. Or at least know her VA. The fact that they're leaving us so in the dark about our squad (which is like 90% of the reason I'm so in love with Bioware games) is driving me nuts!

Stephen Hawking much ? I think she is going to be a way too beautiful character to make her mute. I hope they will give her a soothing voice, that will be delightful to listen to. Sorry Garrus, but now its finally time for Vetra to take the podium. Here is hoping, that she will be a great successor

Though, I tend to prefer originality in stories (when done right), the taming of unknown roads and the breaking of the stereotypes. Badasses characters (Turian ladies included) don’t really need words, if their actions speak with enough force.
