And there is the crux of the issue for me, the odds of having two straight women is very low with the currently expected number of romances, so either there is a lot more that we don't know about or Vetra and Cora won't both be straight.

I've been thinking about this a lot recently. It would seem kind of mean of them to constantly like and post Sara/Vetra stuff if the pairing isn't able to happen. Doing all that doesn't mean Vetra is exclusive to Sara Ryder, but it would seem kind of...insensitive to do that knowing that people are so excited, idk. So I still have some faith, haha. (Please BioWare, i'm trying here)

I wouldn't be surprised tho. MEA marketing is, to put it lightly, not the best. It's chaotic and confusing, and I can easily imagine them saying "Hey, we just appreciate fanarts, there's nothing more to it".

Well romances are good and all but that is not really the point for me, maybe in the end Vetra is not even one. Which again I will be totally fine with it too but help me god if this cast is worse than DA:I in therms of diversity.

Idk this is why I do not like to speculate at all about the LIs this time around, it is just frustrating thinking that maybe Mass Effect is going to disappointing me again in this field.

Romance is the icing for me, the combat/story/exploration is the cake.

I'm sure they aren't distributing the squad mate ones, but I'm sure that the major ones were created with balance in mind. Now I don't think it's going to be perfect, especially not when you include the minor romances, but Vetra and Cora both being straight is quite the imbalance. While it's possible that they're both straight, it would suggest that one of them were added after the balance was reached (the 6 person spread that they focused on in Inquisition) and I doubt either of them were. Basically, the reasoning is that certain characters are going to be priority romances, for example Liam, Cora and Peebee were almost certainly intended to be romances from moment one, and that undoubtedly effected their roles. That leaves the remaining three and I do think that both Vetra and Jaal are among them.

To me is more about representation in works of art and pop culture really, not really if I can or not romance a character. That is kinda irrelevant, it is just another mechanic of the game that should serve a good narrative. That is why I would not mind if she is not a romance, like say Vivienne. I just want some balance when it comes to the companions.
