Anyway, I wanted to ask about Luke Skywalker's path as a jedi. Would Luke be a Guardian, Sentinel, or Consular? In what? The original trilogy? The EU? In the original trilogy it was a pretty much straight up Guardian, he was a mostly self taught swordsmen but that was most of his focus during the three films, learning lightsaber combat and how to use the Force to employ it. In the EU it rapidly gets more complicated because he basically had to design his own method of training for new Jedi at his Academy. So he basically became diplomat and warrior both. He studied and learned techniques of both the Living Force and those that were more martial in design. I mean in the EU he was Grand Master of the Jedi Order for most of the Post Endor incarnation of it. So he needed at the very an understanding of all the Jedi talents, disciplines and skills, from healing to sword forms, and even the higher mysteries and techniques such as emerald lightning. I had the movies in mind, but this is a way better answer than I expected. Thank you, masterwarderz.

I would be interested in learning Rey's midi-chlorian count. I do not know if it could save her -- so far -- lore breaking character. But I still am curious.
Rey can do things that requires training. She can create a barrier around her mind blocking out force users with actual training; she can Mind Trick people, and Mind Trick alone requires years of practice and training; she can Pull a lightsaber to her while it is already being Pulled by someone else without training. Lifting a piece of fruit off the table, a rock of the ground, or a lightsaber out of the snow requires training. Rey can do all these things without knowledge, practice, or training. It really breaks years, if not decades of established lore. Even if going by Canon, it still breaks lore.
And -- most of the time -- I favor Canon.

Hers are absolutely off the Mary Sue charts. If Anakin's are a million parts to whatever then Rey's are infinity

Midi-chlorian count? Space Jesus wins hands down. Born of the Force and virgin birth? No contest.

For those who wanted the force to remain space magic and a mystery, "midichlorians" was poison and blasphemous. For those who wanted positivist scientific method kind of explanation for the force it did the job.

Ah yes midichlorians I have dismissed that claim as the drunken ramblings of Yoda. better explainations than what the sequels came up with Rey. Not really. Though I do thank you for allowing me to make this point. My biggest problem with midichlorians was not that it demystified the Force but it removed individual talent and really sabotaged Star Wars. Luke in ANH started out as an everyman sort of hero. If we tried hard enough we could be Luke Skywalker. He was someone we could aspire to. In Empire Vader being his father implied the Force could travel along blood lines. But it was still rather vague. The prequels blew the relatibility all to hell. Instead of the Force being obtainable by us mere mortals it's forever out of reach. It does not matter how hard you train or try or anything...your midichlorians count determines your power in the Force. But with Rey things are back to being full circle. Especially considering who her parents are. Rey is no one, she has no great lineage to fall back on, no place in the story. She is just a normal person and thus,as with broom boy, serves as an inspiration that anyone can do anything they put their mind to.
