I just realized TLJ coming out is right around the corner. Can't wait to have a back to back movie marathon with Force Awakens. Also need to get caught up on Rebels.

The thing is, I can't really see anything that could be done to fix this mess either. (save for going with some cringy parallel universe / time travel BS that normally shouldn't even work in the SW universe) Here's how you fix it:

Yeah, but I mean realistically. Disney aren't going to admit their mistake to the point of saying "okay let's pretend that episode 7&8 didn't happen", as much as I would like them to do so. The best we can hope for is a quiet and painless death after a few decades of milking it dry to the bone. ._. I ain't waiting around for that though.

Ah but the eternal question would be who to play Thrawn?
The guy they got for their cartoon currently, sucks. Sounds like he's perpetually falling asleep.
I always envisioned Hugo Weaving, but I'm not 100% on that. There's that melodic Chiss tonality to their speaking voice that I can't for the life of me imagine what it sounds like but nevertheless absolutely insist that it be there.
Richard Armitage for Karrde (if they go for the long hair version and do some mocap)?

As it is, I'd think Ian McKellen, maybe?

Animated, I'm fully on board with.

The only problem is that the movie takes place after episode 6 but Mark, Carrie and Harrison were really old during the production of TFA I don't really NEED them personally, I wouldn't have an issue with a time skip. Start Ep 7 after establishing the contents of the above trailer, probably get rid of said characters off-screen somehow. (if you can't put them in the movie for whatever reason) It would've been really nice if they gave the characters the respect the deserve and sent them off that way. Not showing them and dealing with them off screen feels disrespectful.

But yes, ideally I would agree with you. ^thisthisthisthisthisthisthisthis^

Maybe. I've been meaning to catch his version of Murder on the Orient Express to see how he handles playing Hercule Poirot.

Maybe. I've been meaning to catch his version of Murder on the Orient Express to see how he handles playing Hercule Poirot. I wouldn't, it wasn't very good. And while Kenneth did a passable job in an otherwise terrible adaption, he still changed the character and doesn't have anywhere near the depth of performance as David Suchet's version. David Suchet is still the go to Poirot by a mile. Similarly Branagh's Wallander is also inferior to the original Swedish version. Branagh has a lot of hype but his acting ability sometimes leaves a lot to be desired.

Well, I just watched the Rebels Finale, my report: Thrawn and Ezra have been put in the freezer to be brought back later, the climactic battle ending with Ezra using his bond with hyperspace-traveling space whales to blast him and Thrawn into parts unknown. Fine, I’m not opposed to more Thrawn and it increases the chance of some sort of Heir to the Empire event happening in this continuity.
Also, Hera and Kanan has a kid, and apparently green Twi’lek-human crossbreeds look just like humans except with fluorescent green hair... I don’t think I’m okay with this.

Humans and twi'lek being genetically compatible has been canon since before Star Wars got Disneyfied. Though I don't know of any specific examples.

Other stuff: The kid’s name is Jacen Syndulla.
Thrawn name drops Pellaeon when addressing an officer on his bridge.
Ruke (sp?) is dead, Zeb trapped him in the inner workings of a planetary shield and he got fried.
Part of the epilogue shows Ahsoka alive after Endor.
Rex really did fight on Endor

Humans and twi'lek being genetically compatible has been canon since before Star Wars got Disneyfied. Though I don't know of any specific examples. Hmm, I guess I’m okay with that. Doing some more checking on Wookiepedia: According to the Legends section:
The Human species was able to interbreed with the Coynite, Echani, Ferroan, Hamadryas, Kiffar, Miraluka, Nagai, Sith, Theelin, Twi'lek, and a number of other species. When Humans bred with the Kalai, the resulting offspring were known as Lethagoe and with the Zabrak the Dathomirians.
On the other hand, Humans were unable to interbreed with the Anzati, Qiraash, Rattataki, or Umbaran species without genetic manipulation. Humans were also incompatible with the Bothan, Keshiri and Tusken Raider species.
Other compatible hybrid combinations included Borneck with Etti, and Arkanian with Sephi. There was a half-Bothan population on the planet Farfalla. Other incompatible combinations included Gotal with H'nemthe, and Zelosian with Twi'lek and other humanoids. Moggonite were capable of interbreeding with at least one species.
Many species ostracized members who bore hybrid children.
Rex really did fight on Endor [/quote] Rukh's kinda important to Heir to the Empire. If he's dead, and given the Skywalker legacy of Episodes VII and VIII, I don't think it'll matter if Thrawn finds the Katana Fleet out there or not. Heir to the Empire would be a shadow of its former self.
