We'll know in a month & a half. I'm trying to remain optimistic Indeed we will. It'll make money I dare say though it could bomb... If the Solo movie did it might be the wakes up call Disney needs, then again would it make a difference? Probably not.

The SOLO movie only makes 60 million after a week. My guess is, Lucasfilm will MAYBE give Favreau & the GoT dudes some wiggle room creatively, and perhaps make the next anthology movie a bit more edgy. Will they cease with the idiotic forced "diversity" & awful Feminist tropes? Will K. Kennedy be able to resist giving a subtle middle finger to the fans?

Pity I can't say that of TFA, seen once and TLJ which I haven't seen and have no intention of ever seeing.

I'm so behind since I hardly pay attention to entertainment / keep up with fav stuff. I've never seen this before. I was vid jumping, going from game update to various updates and someone mentioned this guy so I went to take a look. Not sure if that's his voice but maybe? Guy's name is Anthony Ingruber, Canadian actor and impressionist. P.S. looks like it is. He was in the movie : Age of Adaline, with Harrison Ford. He was playing a younger version of Ford's char, I think. <iframe width="10.600000000000023" height="6.899999999999977" style="position: absolute; width: 10.6px; height: 6.9px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 0px; top: 0px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_74264290" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="10.600000000000023" height="6.899999999999977" style="position: absolute; width: 10.6px; height: 6.9px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 469px; top: -682px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_94320516" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="10.600000000000023" height="6.899999999999977" style="position: absolute; width: 10.6px; height: 6.9px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 0px; top: -394px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_61062746" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="10.600000000000023" height="6.899999999999977" style="position: absolute; width: 10.6px; height: 6.9px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 469px; top: -394px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_92653527" scrolling="no"></iframe> Yep he was in Age of Adaline and did play the yonger version of Ford's character. He'd have made a better young Han Solo than the twit they cast that's for certain. My opinion only, your mileage may vary I've seen the Solo trailer a couple of times but the selected actor made no impression. I'll have to watch the movie in order to decide but I'm not interested. After listening to AI and watching a bit of his work in Adaline, I'll to say he'd be the better Han Solo; I was taken aback when I first watched that vid and then struck by the 'resemblance'. To see if he could really nail it than mimicking lines from the OT, AI would have to be in a Solo / SW movie but unfortunately, no one will ever know. As we all know, the other actor who nailed an 'old role' is EG. I was vaguely wondering if he could do Obi Wan Kenobi back then and was blown away when I saw Phantom Menace and Clones. Makes me wonder if there're other 'replacements' for the other chars out there.

Then again TPM and AotC were made when Lucas was in charge and despite their flaws, no movie will ever be perfect, he at least knew how to cast the right actor. Casting young Obi-Wan would have been a nightmare I'd imagine.

Why was the 'village raid' scene cut from the movie?
Why the EFF was the extended bit with Phasma cut from the movie?
At the risk of triggering the 'Rey is a Mary Sue' crowd, this does confirm a lot of my suspicions about the messages of the film. There even seems to be some confusion amongst those who liked the movie. The movie is not 'anti past' but learning from the past to forge a better future.

Ah that moment when you go down the page of a Star Wars thread and realize you have no idea (or interest in) what the hell anyone's talking about.
Thanks, Disney.

Speaking of Rey being a Mary Sue, this video pretty much sums up my position at the very least on that particular issue, word for word.
o-o Its also pretty damn amusing...if sad.

On Solo's director drama, according to a Vulture source: Vulture’s source, who declined to be identified because he is not authorized to publicly discuss the movie at this time, felt Lord and Miller were out of their depth, more cut out for light comedy — like The Lego Movie and 2012’s big-screen adaptation of 21 Jump Street, the movies for which the pair earned their reputation for delivering surprise hits — than the kind of big-budget, galaxy-questing action that Lucasfilm required.
To hear our source tell it, the main difference between the co-directors’ filmmaking style and Howard’s boiled down to efficiency. Where Lord and Miller would typically demand more than 30 takes of a given scene — seemingly unsure of what they wanted other than a delivery “different” from the last — Howard got the job done in no more than two or three takes. “Phil and Chris are good directors, but they weren’t prepared for Star Wars,” says our source. “After the 25th take, the actors are looking at each other like, ‘This is getting weird.’ [Lord and Miller] seemed a bit out of control. They definitely felt the pressure; with one of these movies, there are so many people on top of you all the time. The first assistant director was really experienced and had to step in to help them direct a lot of scenes.” (Joy Fehily, a spokesperson for Miller and Lord says: “This information is completely inaccurate,” but declined to cite specific inaccuracies. She also declined to make the directors available for an interview.)
Howard, on the other hand, has a journeyman’s filmography that stretches back to 1984, spanning comedy-romance (Splash), biographical dramas (Apollo 13, A Beautiful Mind, Frost/Nixon), and pulpy thrillers (The Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons). And he impressed the beleaguered Solo production by working “really fast.” “When he came on, he took control and you could feel it,” the actor says. “He got respect immediately. He’s really confident. A really easy guy to work with[...]”
So, are the reshoots quantitatively making Solo a better movie? The actor says morale on the production improved by leaps and bounds with Howard’s arrival but points out it’s impossible to measure quality without seeing the final cut. He also points out that the financial underperformance of the last Star Wars installment — which fell $200 million short of analysts’ predictions, according to The Wall Street Journal — has incentivized the studio to make the Force strong with this one. “They have to make [Solo] good after The Last Jedi didn’t make as much money as expected,” he says. “If they want to keep making Star Wars movies, it has to be good.”www.vulture.com/2018/03/solo-a-star-wars-story-actor-details-production-troubles.html
