PS: Rewind, I totally dig your use of the Kyle Katarn meme. Between 1995 and 2008 I played the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight series exclusively...and for many years I felt Jedi Outcast had the best textures, modeling, colours, shading and lighting (not to mention that still-incredible lightsaber combat!) to be released. Then in mid 2008 when my PC hardware became too advanced and the change in OS rendered DF/JK unplayable....I was truly heart broken, but after much debate I decided to branch out and try to play other games and other genres. So I picked up the original BIOSHOCK for about 45.00 on a whim knowing nothing about it. I got it home and for three days straight I played it almost non-stop....totally amazed at the graphics and lighting and impressed with how that game engine was able to render water. But then I got really stuck: I was literally backed into a corner with zero ammo, no health and two Big Daddy's barreling down on me. Not wanting to (or not thinking about) overwriting that part of my save-game files to an earlier state....I became so beyond-frustrated that I uninstalled BIOSHOCK from my PC and promptly sold the game to a used games store down the street from my house. I have been so disillusioned with BIOSHOCK since because of that experience that I have not even entertained the thought of ever playing it again, nor giving the sequels a chance. With the money that I received for the trade in of BIOSHOCK, I went to BestBuy and purchased Knights Of The Old Republic.
Being completely new to the RPG genre, I was a little turned-off by the silent PC and the slow, turn-based combat that seemed as though a pair of dice were silently being rolled off-screen (which I learned was in fact what was happening essentially, as a mechanic that harkened back to the origins of table top and board game RPGs like D&D) So then I understood and learned to live with the slower placed combat. But more than that what totally got me invested in the game and the larger genre of RPGs was the story, the characters, the writing, the exploration and the art design. I would spend hours exploring every planet going to the farthest reaches just to take in the beautiful art style. (I remember being particularly amazed on my visit to Tattooine when I wandered the vast reaches of the desert and then stopped to watch the twin suns set below the horizon. Or even having to shield my eyes from the lens flares and glare from the sun spots. I had never seen such rich detail in a game before. I knew then that this was something special and I was totally immersed in the 83 hours it took me to msotly complete the game. I never did totally finish KOTOR 1 because I was playin on my dad's computer and he uninstalled it to save disk space before I could complete it. But what I did play I so thoroughly enjoyed that I knew right away I would purchase the sequel. And I enjoyed the sequwl even more, I think, because it seemed to be more centered on the character of a disgraced Jedi. I liked that aspect. From there I got into DA:O which I enjoyed....but was not terribly 'over the moon' about....But those two titles were enough to drive me to purchasing what instantly became my favourite franchise: Mass Effect. But keeping this as a Star Wars post......my thrill for the Star Wars universe and the galaxy far, far away....has been rekindled with Fallen Order. Thanks. The quote is from Jedi Academy, IMHO the best game in the series. Sadly last as well. They sort of took the good parts from Jedi Outcast and dumped the bad (difficult puzzles and long and boring maps). BTW, Jedi Knight 2 was the last game I bought from a brick and mortar shop at the day of release. Still remember the actual event. The good old times of physical copies.
That trade must be one of the best ones ever in the history of gaming! Kotor was and still is a fantastic game; they don't make 'em like they used to. I was used to the BG series, so the classes and combat felt a bit simplified at first, but not for long. That was also the time I started lurking around BSN.

Sadly, I don't think I found The original BSN until 2011-12, I think.....I forget. I would have to check my Profile or as one of the Mods to check my history, but I think it was around the time of ME 3, or the period between the release of 2 and 3. As far as I can telll on this version of the site, I joined in 2017...But I know I've been here for much longer than that. And if memory serves me correctly, I think I really just stumbled upon it. I was very familiar with the actual BIOWARE site (when there actually was one), but I found this more "social site" simply by chance......and I am glad O did. It's one of my favourite sites, and the one I visit most regularly.

With all this garbage being spoken these days about a KOTOR 3 or KOTOR Remake or other assorted projects of that nature out there I was thinking today about Revan and the Exile and while I standby that SWTOR ruined both well beyond repair.
I do find it personally amusing that the canon was reversed for my own characters, what I am speaking of is that my Revan was a chick and my Exile was a male. Beyond that though, I really don't see anything to salvage here anymore, SWTOR did a lot of damage well before even the new canon and its assorted garbage went into effect, this comes from a person who mildly enjoyed the MMO once upon a time a decade past. That said if they did in fact do a KOTOR III I personally don't see how it could work in the new "canon", ultimately though this is just yet more hype to patch the massive tears and holes in the franchise in the wake of the ailing "mando" tv program and a sequel series that Disney didn't make their money back on.
I find it personally rather funny, if somewhat sad. Fifteen years ago? I'd have loved this sort of rumor and news, KOTOR I and II really set the stage for my introduction into the EU beyond the handful of novels I had read prior to that point and got me actually really invested in the franchise and that persisted for well over the following half decade. Now? I don't even care beyond the faint hope they don't somehow manage to inflict yet more damage on what was once a rather beloved franchise by me.
...Considering this is coming off the back of "good soldiers follow orders" and lightsaber crystals having a period apparently...I won't be holding my breath.

My issue with a potential KOTOR sequel is that thanks to Disney's mothballing of the EU the lore will be convoluted due to it lacking context for certain plot points like the existence of Sunrider's Destiny, if KOTOR 1, and 2 alone are considered canon. Then there's also the potential for it to being reduced to looking like a mere TOR expansion pack instead of a full fledged sequel if (Jesus forgive me for saying this) Valkorian returns for the umpteenth time. After the live action adaptions of his classic cartoon films King Miickey should ease up on the necromancy and "let the past die, kill it-" oh shit he already did.

I will freely admit that I burst out laughing in the theater at that scene. I thought it was fantastic situational comedy. Me too. Too bad Snoke's bodyguards weren't stationed downhill from Rey amateurishly trying to practice her lightsaber against an inanimate object. Their deaths might almost have seemed plausible. Couldn't agree more. I suppose at least one good thing about the Disney discanonization is that we can now have the 'hairless wookie' line without breaking canon with anything of consequence. Silver lining, right?

If thats Exar Kun in the picture, he never "got" a saberstaff. He converted his conventional saber into a doublebladed one. A blue one with a short hilt.
For those of you with physical copies of "tales of the jedi, volume 2, look on page 277 and 278.
