Therefore, in Special Relativity relativistic mass γ γ = 1/Square root of√(1 − v2/c2) γ isnt relativistic mass its Lorentz factor

Sure, but because m = γm0 and because we really don't care about m0, it is m=γ

This isn't aimed at any particular post, but rather at the topic of physics in general: I would argue that Star Wars is fictional, so the rules of physics do not apply. If they would however, then at least apply them correctly. Newton's laws don't work when approaching the speed of light, because in Special Relativity mass is relativistic. This means, that something we assume constant -like mass- is in fact not. Therefore, in Special Relativity relativistic mass γ γ = 1/Square root of√(1 − v2/c2) If speed v approaches speed of light c, then the relativistic mass approaches infinite. So a spec of dust moving at speed of light would have the mass of the entire universe. Short version here: Mass, Energy, the Speed of LightLong version: Study Einstein's theories and Special Relativity [Disclaimer: Requires a curious mind] This is a general problem in Scifi, involving FTL flight and most franchises that I know approach it differently.
It is my understanding that FTL engines in the SW universe do not simply "accelerate" spacecraft towards and beyond c but rather transfer them into something called Hyperspace, which interacts with normal space-time but is still separate from it in terms of its physics. In this "plane" if you will, clearly, relativistic effects do not apply. Otherwise, you'd also run into trouble with time dilation and a whole slew of other issues.
Yes a big misconception is that hyperspace entry is achieved through gradual acceleration. Star Wars' ships also have multiple engines too. A standard sublight engine that is used planetside or for naval engagements, a separate hyperdrive engine and a backup hyperdrive engine. oops * gradual acceleration*

Usually when a ship takes enough damage to wreck a hyperdrive it's going down in flames to begin with, they're housed in the engineering compartment which depending on ship size can veer in size from about the size of a loft apartment (bulk freighters and transport ships) to being shopping mall sized installations aboard capital ships. Back to the point though, if you get a breach in the sucker with a direct hit, the sublight engines are usually destroyed in the process as for most designs it's all contained as mentioned previously in the same area unless if it's a odd design. Thankfully though in more modernized ship designs they don't store the reactor usually in the general area, those breaching containment and exploding is how a ship is instantly atomized. You don't fuck around with Hypermatter. It can turn a Star Destroyer into dust particles in less than a second.

Han using the Falcon's backup hyperdrive engine allowed them to travel to Bespin in a month after it's primary engine was damaged. I checked the updates for the new lore to compare what Disney added after axing the EU, and i am disappointed that it's still so sparse after all these years. In the old lore the first engines were initially created by the ancient rakata who were inspired by the celestial's tech, while the modern tech was reverse engineered from the rakatan's by the corellians, but without the force dependency. In the new lore hyperdrive engines were only inspired by space whales who propel themselves into hyperspace at ftl speeds like squids. Very underwhelming.

^ I mean, Palpatine did at one point offer Vader Tatooine to do whatever he wanted with it, using glassing it as an example.

Thought it took up longer then a month by a bit actually. But then again that was classical lore so it could be mistaken.

Classic lore was 2-3 months while i'm uncertain about Mickey's lore because it's all over the place. Also here's a shameless repost...

I don’t think he is in a position to cry about that. After all he killed a third of those, and tried to kill another third.
