THis argument looses effectiveness the more times it is used. No it doesn't. It may lose effectiveness on you, but then you aren't the audience for it. It does if I've been hearing this argument ("How dare they have an opinion contrary to corporate...") from this poster since ME3 was released. *Mumbles something about not being the audience*

I don't think you are, but you might as well be. BioWare has made very few good decisions since their purchase. That shows in the numbers, and in the divide that occurred with DAI, their "grand success". You are not the audience, if the truth and facts are too hard to swallow.

That shows in the numbers, and in the divide that occurred with DAI, their "grand success". You are not the audience, if the truth and facts are too hard to swallow. The truth isn't that hard to swallow. The comment "How dare they have an opinion contrary to corporate..." came in response to a suggestion that if this is the way the fans behave, then maybe the franchise should end - which is not a comment so much on fans' opinions as much as it is an, admittedly slightly trollish, comment on the way the fans fight. I had a similar opinion on seeing the response to ME3, and someone always tries to turn a comment on the fight into a attack on the fans. So, yeah, seen it before, so I'm probably not the audience - its probably meant for someone newer to this type of discussion to perceive another offense.

Sö yöu are a whiny little brat if yöu want the films tö make sense and nöt destöry everything that came beföre it? Still haven't gotten past the strong woman Padme dying of heartbreak, or it ignoring Luke asking if Leia remembered her mother - which she kind of did. People try to claim it was her step-mother but that just makes the better scene in RotJ nvalid and pointless. Also, honestly, I didn't need a movie about a little kid or the later teenage romance angst. It's not Twilight and shouldn't be.
As for sequels, the retread isn't even much of an issue. Problems came when, surprise, Kylo Ren turned out to be some angry emo whiner. Then we have Rey's insane ability to master a lightsaber and take on someone actually trained with it. Leia flying through space. Luke giving up. Han giving up. It's just garbage and I can't see how any other conclusion could be made. Strong friendships developed in TFA just dropped with no cause in TLJ (Poe/Finn).
This isn't about whining. It's about getting a product that's sub-par and doesn't even work within its own lore.
I guess no amount of medical science, even sci-fantasy at Star Wars’ level can stop the power of heartbreak.

It is a rather common trope to divide characters and put them in different places for vast amounts of time to cause angst or development. But then I also entirely fail to see how they dropped the Finn Poe friendship in the first place. They were acting very friendly.

Actually, Kathleen Kennedy and Rian Johnson hate Star Wars more than Star Wars fans. No they don’t. Especially Kathleen. Its a pity she's going to be fired for her failures then, if it truly is a "labor of love"...by the way I don't believe that for one second. She used it as a soapbox to shove a modern feminist narrative into a universe where it has no place.

There are rumors saying the Obi Wan movie could be on the Disney streaming service....you know for actual news and not bitching that has literally taken on most of the thread. comicbook.com/starwars/2018/06/24/star-wars-obi-wan-spinoff-disney-streaming-service/I'm not quite sold on Obi Wan getting a movie. Isn't there a comic or novel that was released recently about some of his time looking after Luke? Something about Luke being kidnapped and he saved him and returned him to his uncle and aunt. I could have sworn I read that somewhere...either that or I had a really great night.

If you don't ignore Luke then for me you run into a couple of problems. Either he has to be so young that he doesn't remember the events, which hits my 'god I hate child actors / babies' button, or you have to have Obi mind wipe Luke after the fact, which just feels cheap and smacks of 'it was all a dream stepping out the shower' nonsense. I wouldn't object to Obi falling foul of Vaders Jedi Purge somehow.

Do you truly not have the answer to your own question by this point? Hard to keep track of the complaints. I've seen a lot of criticisms about Mary Sues, Holdo's competence, and Leia's force powers, but I'm just trying to figure out what in all that makes it a "feminist narrative" to you or anyone else on the forum. P.S. I found mybudgee's explanation from January where he wrote that the narrative favors women for no reason - is that it? Just from my perspective, that doesn't sound feminist, it just sounds like a bad story.

What does it matter they dressed a pink haired woman in a giraffe costume? Star Wars died with the Force Awakens, an utter reuse of a wrinkled wrung out tea bag that was suckled dry by some directors with no idea about making a story. I hear the rehashing and copy-pasting of stuff from the older movies was still continued in that last movie you get all riled up about in your ideology crusades. It doen't matter, because people with no vision and little artistic talent will still make shitty movies for BigCo. even if they omitted any agenda they might place in.

OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD I CAN'T STOP FUCKING LAUGHING HAHAHAHA!!! It's so fucking hilariously on point! On everything! I loved it! And what's even more funny is, he could have easily found another 10 reasons just as important why that shitty excuse of a movie sucks. THERE ARE FUCKING BOMBS "FALLING DOWN" IN FUCKING OUTER SPACE, FOR FUCK'S SAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I mean... Cmon. No? Because I think a character, people in general really should be judged by merit of character and action, not by sex, race, or skin color. ._. Also explain what happens to Cody in the new canon like they did Rex. I'd say Maul as well since he cameos in Solo but they did that in Star Wars Rebels unless they want to redo that scene for the big screen.
