Does it? What makes the new movies a feminist narrative? Is it just the women in power, or is it that the movie doesn't give them as many flaws/failures as the men? Did you see the video above? It explains it pretty well This critique in this video describes a poorly written leader/subordinate character dynamic and learning experience, then references the fact that a bunch of the leadership are women as the basis of it being "feminist", and that the moral is supposed to be to blindly trust women. This a ridiculous criticism. The moral for Poe was obviously supposed to be something about acting less as a hothead and leading responsibly, and was not supposed to be blindly obeying female command (that's stupid). As I said a few pages ago, the main problem with the scenario was that it placed the responsibility of the Canto Bight mission completely on Poe, and as such it was not a learning experience, it was a reason have Poe executed. The fix is to slightly change the dynamics of the situation - have Holdo or someone else in command agree to Poe/Finn/Rose's plan as a plan B worthy of pursuit because the situation is desperate, etc; set Poe up as someone with authority to challenge Holdo's orders; or even have Holdo realize the error in not confiding in or managing in her subordinates. It don't think this is an issue with feminism, as much as it is just bad writing.

There's prequels and sequels to the Star Wars trilogy? When did this happen? They made a sequel called Rogue One.

The OT was my favorite movies ever. I was a devoted fan, even reading the books and comics. Then those crappy prequels came along. Aside from bitch ass dark and whiny Anakin - who I could not possibly believe could ever turn into Darth Vader - the midichlorians themselves turned an unfathomable, mystic force into just another science problem to be solved. If midichlorians were a thing, would scientists have pulled some out of a Jedi, replicated them and started putting them into soldiers to create an army of Jedi? No, it was a fail. What are midichlorians in Star Wars?

What are midichlorians in Star Wars? You can accept the midichlorian answer or ignore it. It is not supposed to make sense in RL, just a Star Wars-y explanation. It is not modifiable in the movies (it is in the EU), just measurable. And tell me if people are mad at prequels for more reasons than Jar Jar, Anakin and midichlorians. These are top 3 and the possible 4th problem is an insignificant complain to those three. Now the sequels... there is dozens of retardations. It's hopeless and irredeemable at this point.

I went to my uncle's 80th birthday. The son of my cousin now has grown up to an early twen. He used to play Lego Star Wars and read the books and all and he'd talk off your ear with lore bits. I just mentioned that I had watched TFA and had no more intentions to watch any more of this crap and he went on an epic rant.

What's this then? Not a bomb...🙄 They call it TIE-BOMBERS. It IS a bomb in the technical sense of the term, but it isn't a WW2 era gravity-bomb being used in a zero gravity environment, it is something more like a mass of volatile energy held together via space-magic. Ironically, the second makes more sense in space than the first when you take into account that all participating spacecraft are probably moving at incredible speeds, and that contrary to terrestrial conditions you only have a small nudge to push the gravity-bombs from the launching craft own inertial-compensation system rather than the constant gravity of earth for example. In space an object in motion will indeed stay in motion, but it will only have the initial shove from inertial compensation, not a steady increase up to the point of terminal velocity. But these flaws are actually minor compared to the mind-bending stupidity of using such low-tech weapons for no real reason when you have direct-energy weapons and things like proton-torpedoes. It simply doesn't work in the context of the existing current technology level in this universe. Might as well give them bows and arrows. Well, if you can strap off the propulsion and replace it with more explosives I can see it might be reasonable.

Or you can just throw a small sun instead of cramming a few more kilograms of C4 equivalent... Doesn't really matter what the explosive is. I guess it's the way it's presented like a WW2 bombing run. Could have been much better with someone thinking it through.

Sith's opening scene. My point is Star Wars has never been scientifically accurate. You didn't explain what was wrong with the scene. (that can't be easily explained via advanced technology) My point is the ridiculousness of that scene. Also, you can use that same "advanced technology" to explain the bomber scene.

My point is the ridiculousness of that scene. I'm still waiting for an explanation in regards to what exactly in this scene is ridiculous. From my perspective firing a guided missiles that then deploys a swarm of micro-drones is exactly the kind of weapon I would expect from a faction that's heavily into robotics. (and I can see the value of such weapons for various purposes, for example, while the explosion of a conventional warhead of the same size might not be enough to take down a speedy and maneuverable Jedi starfighter, especially when considering that the pilot has access to precognition, if you can get even one of those droids to stick on the starfighter, it's likely that it'll be enough to disable it) Also, you can use that same "advanced technology" to explain the bomber scene. It's actually the opposite here. They are (seemingly) using an incredibly primitive weapon in order to hit a moving target, while they (should) have better weapons. Like many other things in that movie, if it came after certain facts were established beforehand, I would have no issue with it. (say, maybe they were running out of proper weapons, maybe they found a special vulnerability in the enemy's shields that could be exploited via saturation with dumb "gravity-bombs") But they didn't. Like with everything else they just said "fuck it" let's go with our "vision" over what makes sense for the setting. "Primitive" could be from the age of Republic; which would still be "advanced technology." Look, the whole point of my argument is don't go into Star Wars and be expecting scientific accuracy. You're in the wrong franchise for that kind of logic.
