The OT was my favorite movies ever. I was a devoted fan, even reading the books and comics. Then those crappy prequels came along. Aside from bitch ass dark and whiny Anakin - who I could not possibly believe could ever turn into Darth Vader - the midichlorians themselves turned an unfathomable, mystic force into just another science problem to be solved. If midichlorians were a thing, would scientists have pulled some out of a Jedi, replicated them and started putting them into soldiers to create an army of Jedi? No, it was a fail. What are midichlorians in Star Wars? You can accept the midichlorian answer or ignore it. It is not supposed to make sense in RL, just a Star Wars-y explanation. It is not modifiable in the movies (it is in the EU), just measurable. And tell me if people are mad at prequels for more reasons than Jar Jar, Anakin and midichlorians. These are top 3 and the possible 4th problem is an insignificant complain to those three. Now the sequels... there is dozens of retardations. It's hopeless and irredeemable at this point. Every movie has some cheese but it’s still good. All the movies imo are great to excellent. Only one I have yet to see is Solo.

Regarding the complaint about the bomber in space, I always just figured that the ship itself propelled them downward so that it appeared as though gravity were pulling them toward the ship below. Turns out the Wookieepedia says I wasn’t that far off. starwars.wikia.com/wiki/MG-100_StarFortress_SF-17

The difference between Anakin and the other two is that Jar Jar and midichlorians are basically throw-away, for the most part. Binks infests TPM mostly, and slowly gets relegated to a background NPC, and I can’t even remember mention of midichlorians in Clones or Sith. But the trilogy is basically about him, and the annoying little boy or emo young adult with a sub-Twilight level romantic pursuit, chased with a dose of harebrained Suddenly Dark Side kind of sours the entire thing. And that’s on top of all the ridiculously wooden acting from a lot of other characters. The only one to make it out with remote fondness for me is Obi Wan.

Dooku is an interesting tragic tale. Jango/Boba and the Clones was not what I expected, and that didn't bother me one bit. Yes, romance was painful and poorly done. AotC was a general mess. That said, each prequel movie is significantly better, and feels more like Star Wars, than any of the Rat Shit.

I'm still waiting for an explanation in regards to what exactly in this scene is ridiculous. From my perspective firing a guided missiles that then deploys a swarm of micro-drones is exactly the kind of weapon I would expect from a faction that's heavily into robotics. (and I can see the value of such weapons for various purposes, for example, while the explosion of a conventional warhead of the same size might not be enough to take down a speedy and maneuverable Jedi starfighter, especially when considering that the pilot has access to precognition, if you can get even one of those droids to stick on the starfighter, it's likely that it'll be enough to disable it) It's actually the opposite here. They are (seemingly) using an incredibly primitive weapon in order to hit a moving target, while they (should) have better weapons. Like many other things in that movie, if it came after certain facts were established beforehand, I would have no issue with it. (say, maybe they were running out of proper weapons, maybe they found a special vulnerability in the enemy's shields that could be exploited via saturation with dumb "gravity-bombs") But they didn't. Like with everything else they just said "fuck it" let's go with our "vision" over what makes sense for the setting. "Primitive" could be from the age of Republic; which would still be "advanced technology." Look, the whole point of my argument is don't go into Star Wars and be expecting scientific accuracy. You're in the wrong franchise for that kind of logic. So, I'm guessing it wouldn't bother you if people could suddenly start talking between planets without equipment, just yelling really loud? Of course it's a sci-fi franchise, one doesn't expect perfect scientific accuracy. But you have to draw the line somewhere, it can't be that *anything* can happen. Especially if it (watch the video posted before) goes against everything that was established so far. In the end, the line that makes sense, for me, is what bothers me and what not. And that scene REALLY bothered me.

This is why episode 8 sucked so hard; it was more than just Ruin Johnson trying to be a smart-ass WHILE still being true to the lore and to BASIC screenwriting guidelines. He & K. Kennedy clearly decided mocking the franchise in general & producing a 'multi-million-dollar Fuck You to the fans' was their actual objective. Making people pay to feel shitty was their goal, and they fucking achieved it! Anyone who grew up with the holy trilogy knows this, and knew it the instant that broom boy used the Force to sweep that horse stable. Something was very, VERY wrong at Lucasfilm...

Are there really people taking that much offense over someone talking about the Original Trilogy as Holy? How the fuuuu... We really live in a fucked up world. Please tell me y'all are under 20 years of age... Please? Pretty please? I already know the answer is negative, don't bother with it. Sigh. I just had my daily share of "mankind has no hope" moments, I guess

I have a different opinion. Doesn’t make it wrong. No, it's not wrong, it's just bad taste. But good taste can be cultivated, so no worries, you only need to see some good stuff to spot the difference.
