Still have yet to play the KotOR games. Got them both off steam too now, complete with X-Padder profile to make them like the X-Box controller setup. Just one hurdle, starting certain new games take some effort to get into. Only you would have an issue with the KotOR series...

This actually raises something that has been troubling me about Star Wars - these massive Imperial ships in the movies that only ever act as transports and platforms for turbo-lasers, except for the Dreadnaught in TLJ which at least blew up the Resistance ground base. They show up in elaborate scenes just to capture frigates, launch probes and fighters, lose the Millennium Falcon (twice?), and get blown up by kamikaze fighters. "Star Destroyers" indeed!

Just one hurdle, starting certain new games take some effort to get into. They are quite similar to the first Mass Effect, except for combat. IMO those 2 are the gratest of all time.

Heeeeey, weren't a bunch of you complaining that Rey and flying Leia were too powerful with no Force training a few pages back? In The Clone Wars animated series, aren't there babies just playing using the Force to float stuff around based on instinct?

This actually raises something that has been troubling me about Star Wars - these massive Imperial ships in the movies that only ever act as transports and platforms for turbo-lasers, except for the Dreadnaught in TLJ which at least blew up the Resistance ground base. They show up in elaborate scenes just to capture frigates, launch probes and fighters, lose the Millennium Falcon (twice?), and get blown up by kamikaze fighters. "Star Destroyers" indeed! Star Destroyers are literally the space equivalent of sea-going capital ships such as dreadnoughts and battleships. If you are familiar even a little bit with military theory or history, you'd know that these ships have a very specific set of missions they are intended for. They are certainly not the answer to every problem, and they aren't invulnerable. In fact, the flaws of this class of ships is exactly what brought about the age of the aircraft carriers. (including their vulnerability to attacks from the air, even when you mount overwhelming numbers of AA guns on them) In space, the job of a Dreadnought (doesn't matter if it's a Star Destroyer or a Mass Effect style Dreadnought) is to be the big bruiser, they are designed to take a lot of punishment, and also dish out a lot of punishment. You can use them as the centerpiece of your battlegroup, you can use them to bombard enemy installations or even planets, and other missions that require a lot of firepower and little finesse. Of course, if you do the equivalent of rolling your dice badly, something can go wrong if you get a critical failure. All that said, I will admit that SW technology has a lot of flaws, like the fact that the bridge on certain capital ships is so laughably exposed, or the large windows into space, or a large number of other issues. One problem I had with the sequels is how instead of subtly changing the designs into something that makes more sense, they made things even worse when it comes to technology and its plausibility. Just to expand on this a bit, I'll point at the military doctrine of several nations during WW2 and the buildup to it. Given how heavily George Lucas was influenced by old school WW2 films it seems relevant. They were thinking in term of denying the use of the sea to their rivals via the threat posed by having a fleet that could crush anyone they attacked through sheer overwhelming brute force. The idea was that anybody who wanted to use the sea would need an equally powerful naval force, and anybody who couldn't muster such a fleet would be denied travel and trade. The trade federations blockade of Naboo in the prequel trilogy ties into this theme somewhat, and its not a coincidence that the corellian corvettes that were the first ship shown in star wars were referred to as blockade runners. The Allies eventually abandoned this philosophy and the rebellion never even attempted to wage war like that because they couldn't, and in both cases it gave them an edge. The prewar arms race became all about having the biggest ships with the thickest armour and the biggest guns, with little regard to how they'd fight anything other than other capital ships. These ships became torpedo fodder when actual fighting broke out and the superiority of fighters was demonstrated. The battleships of WW2 were made to look every bit as stupid as the star destroyers of star wars. The fate of Japans Yamato class battleships in particular are good examples of this.TL:DR, There's always people who think bigger is better, and they end up looking rather stupid when they're proven wrong. Sidenote: The absurd bridge on star destroyers is likely influenced by the pagoda masts of Japanese WW2 navel vessels, which were just as ridiculously big targets.

This is the episode where Cad Bane kidnaps the Force sensitive kids from the list on the holocron

Just one hurdle, starting certain new games take some effort to get into. Only you would have an issue with the KotOR series... Starting a new game is similar to starting a new book sometimes. Why it's much easier to replay favorites, ie, played ME Trilogy 10x by now. Currently on another Souls series binge with Bloodborne yet again (another series I keep returning to). There's also retro gaming going as far back as late 80s sometimes. KotOR is still near the top of some games I've been meaning to get to.

Refer to my first post in this thread for what's actually good Star Wars (and add KOTOR to it, sure)
The rest is resoundingly meh at best, but still miles above Mickey Wars.
