Reyes Vidal - No longer A Mystery (Official Thread)

Yes I just wanted to avoid the drama scene where Kaidan considers Shepard like a cheater and everything... I'd prefer an option for a clear break-up scene before that, than in ME3 "hey you cheated on me for years!"

Thanks for the link. But I'll be playing on PS3 so it won't work. Anyway I used one of these when I was playing on PC and it didn't really work, but maybe some years ago it was not working as well as the new ones.

Maybe Ashley took it well, but I doubt Kaidan does, or at least not without making Shepard feel bad like someone who cheated on him on purpose. Don't even try to have this conversation in the Kaidan Thread, they would throw rocks at you (sensible topic it seems)

A bit back on topic. I was cruising around on Elaaden yesterday to finish some of the little tasks, to find explosive canisters and so on. And there were the usual scavengers and drop ships deploying them. Then I found sites, in the south mostly, were they didn't shoot at me so I inspected the NPCs and sure enough, they were not dressed in red and had the Collective logo on their chest. I hadn't encountered them back when I did the main missions but I also quick-travelled quite a bit then. Now the question, do they only appear once Kadara is resolved? I can check an old save in the evening (many hours to go  ) but maybe one of you already knows?

Edit: Now I visited Elaaden right before high noon. Found the red-clad scavengers and Collective members, properly named as such, fighting each other over scrap. Both groups attacked me as well, just like on Kadara.

I am honestly happy for those who wanted Jaal to be bi.
BUT what I really wanted were improvements to existing romances. More emails from Reyes, specifically. And where's my damn storage room?
Ah well.

I don't like Jaal all too much. In fact, he kinda annoyed me. He's too nice for me (or my Scott).
And anyway I'm too deep into Scott/Reyes hell already to get out of it anymore 
Though part of me still can't let go of Peebs and Avela. 
Tfw you can't decide who to romance.

I want to know when the patch gets released though. I have resigned myself to the lack of Reyes emails now and I am just anxious to see what new hair and facial options I can play around with haha

I honestly thought they'd at the very least fix the glaring bugs. I know people other than me have also encountered the clipping issue during the dance with Reyes. Here's somebody else's video of it (at mark 2:25): Does this happen only with Scott and not Sara? Anybody with a m!Ryder free from this bug? I've made a bug report at Answers HQ, for all the good that does.

Is there anybody here with twitter who might pose an inquiry for the devs about this, and maybe about the romance flags re: Reyes and Gil? I don't consider myself greedy and I like the Reyes romance as it is, I just wish that an existing scene be fixed.

I wish they hadn't been so oblique about the "M/M improvements". Low cost things such as "a little graphics tweak" and "pure text e-mails from an LI that don't even require VA" felt like something that could happen. Unless the CC changes are phenomenal, I don't see myself starting a new playthrough as I had hoped to do.

Yes. That was fixed in the 1.07 patch.

Sadly, I have to say my Sara (multiple) never encountered that particular thing with the head, but the Sara and Scott dance animations are a little different. My Saras got a different glitch that was really mostly clipping but a little weird, noticeable but manageable. The issue here is Scott has Sara's animation, where she rests her head on Reyes' shoulder (kind of, it's bad for her too but much better then scott) when saying that line, but Scott is too tall, among other things, so the animation is stupid for him. It doesn't work.

I made a complaint, not on this forum, that they put so much effort into doing a brand new romance, but forgot to finish the tidy up of the current LI's cutscenes which is a disservice to those characters and the people who play for them.
I only play Sara, but I have seen many issues ,especially in that scene for Scott, that should have been fixed as well by now.

Yes I wish there was new content for Reyes. Some new e-mails wouldn't hurt, and they don't even have to make more voice acting.

Anyway as you cannot kill Reyes even if you shoot him, it means that they had plans for him in the future, in a DLC maybe? I didn't expect to like that character so much. And I love his voice.

I was thinking about inquiring about them adding stuff for Reyes in future patches, but I chickened out.

 However, I really do feel like in some scope, the additions I would enjoy wouldn't be too much of a pain to include in a future patch or two (I am by no means a video game maker at all) But like, for instance, I would love: more emails toward the end (after main missions), a kissing animation when you enter Tartarus ala Dragon Age, and an added scene that implies that Ryder and Reyes run off together to their closet at the end of the campaign.

It feels like the game just kind of drops Reyes after Kadara, until he swoops in at the end like: "hey remember when we made out lmao, I'm here to save the day! " I think more build up to his "moment" would be amazing and make the romance a little more filling. I have enjoyed more "head-canon required" romances in games like in Persona 2 with Jun and Tatsuya, but I think Reyes needs a smidge more umph to truly make me want to do a NG+ run. 

Of course in doing so, this would open up a new can of worms entirely, with other romances, but hey, what can you do?
