Like a lot of kissing and making up for not telling Ryder everything about him being the Charlatan. Reyes would (in my mind) really try to make up for not telling Ryder everything by doing surprise dinners, nights in with Ryder's favorite vids, basically being his version of the golden boy. The fic is an AU. One I think Reyes deserves. I want to talk about it so badly, but I want it to be a surprise. Hmm, I can imagine him being like this.. for about three hours. Before a message that another super rare beverage was found in some Prodromos storage (or something like that) beeps on the comm (Seriously though, is my Ryder the only one who doesn't mind the secret crime lord identity business at all?) By the way, mentioning Ryder's favorite vids leads me to wonder what kind of vids Reyes would make Ryder watch... Well that was fast. I'll check it when I'm done posting.. (in about ten to twelve hours or so ) Full support for Ryder getting to see Reyes’ secret HQ, whether it be just a dingy apartment in Kadara Port holding surprisingly high-tech espionage equipment or a state-of-the-art secret lair hidden in the wasteland. Wasn’t it the MEA team that made the Omega DLC for ME3? That might hint at something akin to Aria’s secret fortress. Not that it matters now, but something serious would’ve been my preference. The Tempest crew was already too wacky for my taste. Ooo, Reyes having an Aria level fortress so early on... well, why not, he has some resourceful guys at his disposal. They can steal something, they can make and tweak something, they can hide the fortress well too. I think that location-wise they might stay true to the cave system, it has worked well for them so far, and after the Pathfinder's kind intervention even the sulfur might clear in some time. Maybe Reyes could even have his place in there, that would explain where he lives (if it wouldn't be a inconvenient position to observe stuff from, that is) Seriously, you call this overall nice and agreeable squad wacky? And you can put up with me? Yay, your Sara and Reyes finally got each other. What a lovely scene it makes for. Yeah, sure... *Ryder says something indicating that nothing has changed* *Reyes slams her to the wall which would seem like just the thing to get you killed to the common mortal* Ryder's thought goes "cheeky son of a.... *amusement ensues*, oh, whatever, why the fuck not". Romance! But yeah, it's fitting. It was bound to happen sooner or later. Now I need some proper screens. I've done it in one cave, maybe I'll do it in another cave too. Just give me some time. It looks like the hair belongs to the woman. It’s happened to my Ryder that the “base hair” (whatever the correct term for that is – just the buzz cut or hair colored scalp) stayed on his head, but the extra bits (the actual hair-do) disappeared. Here it looks it’s just detached, and in the actual scene the lady will align with the rest of her hair. You'll notice that the hair that's on her head looks flat and all the detail like individual strands are in that detached floaty bit. I mean, I might be totally wrong. I'm just making wild assumptions. The shifting angles are a pain! Especially if you’re trying to capture a recording of scene from another angle. There’s a scene where Reyes is walking away and it would’ve made for a good gif, if only the cam had stayed in one place. I've tried remembering how the cam shifts and then place it accordingly, so that when it moves it ends up in the position I want, but it's one more puzzle to be figured out. I'm planning on trying it on Reyes during the duel, actually, but I'm afraid it will be too hard to get anything out of it) Ha, yeah Reyes isn’t probably super ripped. But maybe he’ll start working out once the immediate concern on staying alive on Kadara has been made less of a hassle. (Or once he’s been banished to the ice hole asteroid with nothing else to do.) There were two oddities in that scene. Firstly there were the four options, yes, but after a while Ryder just I guess auto chose one of the options and the scene moved on. Second, pausing the cut scene usually lets you take your shots and only crashes when you try to un-pause the game, right? Not so here – the game froze and CTDd immediately. Maybe these are some oddities caused by it being a big, special scene with lots of NPCs and shit. And no, I tested this twice, so it wasn’t just my clumsy fingers fumbling. Now Tiran Kandros (see I remembered his name) was an okay character, even though meeting him was shocking, since it was the first instance of seeing how they had fucked the Turian textures up. I still wish he had been offered as a LI for Scott. BioWare missed a great deal of positivity by not pandering to the fans with a male bi Turian – it’s obvious everyone wants one. I think he might have a bit too much to do to work out when he's in charge of the Port if he has never been one for it. But the icy asteroid version sounds quite menacing. He'll work out on the frozen rock (hehe, he might mine rock or something when he gets frustrated), get better at survival... woo, that wouldn't be pretty if he'd make a return from his asteroid exile. (that would look a bit like the nerd rage perk ) That's weird. But yeah. maybe the scene really wasn't made to allow being messed with. I don't know if you have the dialogue options tied to numbers but maybe some command somewhere lagged? Yeah, he was fine. Could've had more involvement. Or at least a tiny quest involvement, like Kesh if not a full one like much less interesting Addison got. He was important enough for that. But as for his face, hey, he'd had a tough year before Hyperion showed up... Well, there was already a turian for everybody (Vetra) I'd expect a male turian to be next, if there is a next. (Really, I'm starting to think that any romances that do not have sexuality tied into their arc should be playersexual. Much more happy people like that and I don't realy see any harm) Good point. He might take some small Collective jobs to show file and rank agents that he’s okay. Or he might hold on to his neutrality, in order to look better to random AI and Angaran people (the top Nexus brass of course knows who he is). He of course has his spies, but he also may want to take the opportunity to learn secrets directly by himself, and that’s easier if nobody suspects he has ties to the Collective. He's also always been known to be neutral and kinda opportunistic, so if he avoided the Collective it might look more suspicious then if he worked with them occasionally.... might cost him some contacts but sometimes you can't have it all. That would be kinda fun if you think about it He might even design these jobs for himself, tie them to something that needs to be done. And get to know how his agents perform in the meantime, good way to keep informed. Seems like something he might actually do. I suspect he might get a bit bored being the CEO only with no opportunity to play smuggler. Good question, considering how divisive person Reyes seems to be. There’s bound to be agents that really dislike Reyes and won’t be amused at all that this asshole is supposed to be the enigmatic Charlatan. Unless they’re impressed by him managing to fool everybody so thoroughly. With his identity out in the open, many will feel disconnected and since there’s no personal loyalty to him, they probably feel like leaving the Collective altogether. For all the advantages Reyes has, inspiring loyalty is definitely not one of them. On the other hand, the individual Collective cells might try to operate on their own. I think one of the angry mails Reyes sends was about Ryder "only prolonging the inevitable", so probably he’ll try to gather what resources he has left and build again. Makes sense considering his plot armor. I doubt it goes without hitches, though (it would suck for RP reasons if it did). Hehe, nicely said Made me remember that outcast that complains the the Charlatan being a human in boring if he gets revealed. I guess some might be impressed, but the question is whether demystifying the Charlatan wouldn't be a bigger blow to the Collective than it seems, since even the less cruicail personnel would pretty much know that the Charlatan is on the run and if not directly in the game, then mighty weakened, and as you said, who knows how much loyalty there is around the Collective. They'll have trouble recruiting, lose supplied/bases to the Outcasts, maybe some agents during aftermath fights, somebody might talk to save their hide... he'd rather have some emergency kit ready if he hopes to come back in power. Crux and some people in the base seem pretty content with their situation, though, I'd expect them to remain where they are, and Reyes seems confident he'll handle it in those emails, but he may be either trying to get out with some dignity or underestimating the situation... Art critic Cthulhu would obviously be the superior option, but it wouldn’t pick Keema as its representative, surely. That would be pretty ironic, comes to think of it But if they acted before the AI arrived, what other options would they have? Nothing but angara in the whole damn cluster. Even if they acted afterwards, maybe possessing an angara, aka tech they possibly understand, would prove easier before they crack the new species. (Plus Sloane didn’t really listen to Keema or know the angara, so any cthulhu oddities -did you ever see another angara smoke?- would be safely hidden while still seeing what happens around hose in charge) Oh, he has his angry moments as we’ve seen, but he never gets annoyed or even frustrated at Ryder. I don't think he'd have the patience for a stormy relationship. He'd just walk, I believe. That could actually be the most plausible reason for their eventual breakup.. too much drama, no matter what it concerned What, you’d stick him inside one of those experiment cages? That’s unusually cruel, you know. He could just lounge on top of the bed all day, so that we’d have something to look at. An entire game, and not one scene related to the bed. Such a pity. We’ll just need to assume that the door opens automatically only for Ryder. Otherwise every time somebody goes to the kitchen or the toilet, Ryder’s cabin door just swooshes open. Day, night, no matter. Bet that’s great. Oh I wouldn’t. But maybe it could be an option for those feeling annoyed by having to suffer Reyes on their ship. And I didn’t even mean an experiment cage, just imagined him lounging on one of those shelves with plants. Yeah, as far as aesthetics is concerned, he definitely could Buuut... he could get lazy just being aesthetically pleasing there all day. It would hurt the business if word got out that the Charlatan does nothing these days. As for the bed related scenes, it would actually be nice if Reyes could visit the tempest like Liara in LotSB. Well, Ryder keeps an open door policy. BUt this is one of the doors that only open after holding the e key, isn’t it? It has two bad sides that to me are insurmountable. First, it limits the amount of dialogue due to costs. This means less branching, more linear quests, less RP opportunities, more of a premade character. Disastrous for a pure RPG. Second, the voice can just be bad. Like Sarah Ryder. I just can’t play with her. So, wrong kind of a VA and that’s that. Besides, even if the voice is good (both Shepards), it still limits your RP possibilities. The tone can be wrong. One line can be delivered in so many different ways – a voice actor chooses one, and again, it can go against what you wanted. The Reyes romance seems an interesting example here, since to me it seems that Sara’s interactions with Reyes differ in small yet significant manner from Scott’s, making the latter a chiller affair. A teary-eyed and shrill Scott would made me way less happy about it. True. The characterization gets pretty annoying (I’m all but capable of doing my own characterization, thank you very nicely) but I mostly see it the same way as a lacking choice of a written answer, or simply not getting the solution I wanted for a quest. It’s never perfect, voiced or mute. For me the biggest problem with the Reyes scene is the auto-dialogue, not the tone, though I’d certainly love female Ryder to be as cool with it as her bro. Having no control over what the character says in important moments is way more of a pain than any choice of VA delivery. If there’s something that needs to go... (ties to forced characterization, I suppose) IMO the rumors have to be unsourced, otherwise they’d be facts. Nothing about the Charlatan is verified, that’s the entire point. So having vague, maybe even contradictory rumors floating about will suit Reyes marvelously. I like the contradictory part. So much confusion in Kadara Port once the boring was business is over No, Reyes, updating his crime/assassination services into threatening the whole galaxy. I mean, he’s the bad boy romance of MEA, but that would be the next level. XD I don’t personally really hate Tann; he’s so easy to ignore. Threatening it or holding it hostage? Such orgs need people to have influence over, the don’t benefit from being directly threatening I’m not against the highest level shady bad boy romance at all. It would be intriguing to see how far Reyes would get over the course of another game or two... also rewarding as far as the High noon choice goes. I don’t hate Tann either, he just makes a good butt for jokes and shit like that, being the most dumb, uninspired person to lead such an effort in history of any galaxy ever. Okay Blood, you get to get on the bad boy/girl bandwagon too, right alongside Reyes. I don’t think Reyes could win against the Yagh broker, not by himself anyway. As for Liara, it depends whether she has Shepard to do her work for her, I guess. If not, Reyes might stand a change. Whose plot armor is stronger? Muhehe. Who would have guessed, right? He might perhaps outsmart the yahg even before a battle started, he was pretty dumb. If High noon is any indicator, Reyes is good at this shit. I wouldn’t really expect him to fight any of them. And having Shepard involved is just nor fair. We all know they’re invincible and immortal, Reyes would have to bring Ryder so it felt remotely fair. Plot armor strength, though? If my Death theory is valid, it must be Reyes. Surely Liara can boast no such feat. The vaults were repetitive enough for me to grow tired of their architecture. The robots should’ve been more alien as well. It should’ve been represented as way harder for Peebee to reverse engineer them or whatever she did. Maybe they should’ve been part biomechanical (tho that would’ve been reminiscent of the Reapers) or worked with nanotech. Something. Next time Reyes makes a big move, he probably has his own remnant bot army scavenged from the Kadara vault. I guess she must have worked hard at it, so why not. She never actually shares how much time it cost her and if you can set them off as friendlies right from the remnant consoles, maybe they have some primitive programming only (all they do is shoot intruders anyway) Well, I can very well see Ryder assisting with the hacking when no one is looking. They work together, after all. And a bot army is a bot army. Always useful when you want to take.. or keep hold on something (hmm, wonder how many remnant bots it takes to wound one angry cthulhu...) Yes, maybe someone who has biotics and can lift it easily. Since Sloane leaves as well they can pick it up later. How lucky. Maybe it also has an auto invisibility function. In that case you must remember carefully where you left it, though or maybe there's a more mundane answer, which is Sloane not understanding what treasure of engineering got left behind in her grasp Reyes can open a barber shop as a front . Humanity is supposed to be pretty mixed in ME, he could still be his favourite uncle. And what about the pet shop? That would be lots of businesses to manage in addition to the Collective. Although it would be nice to see him take care of his favorite uncle's hairline. I love how uncle is stuck for Mr. Sniper Guy. He.. sorta looks like an uncle. A stable, chatty uncle who made the trip with his favorite nephew. Yay Did you see the trick they employed when Reyes jumps down? That he actually jumps from a small rock, not all the way down? Oh NO, I had no idea. Trick cinematography to make sure Reyes doesn’t hurt his precious bones. It’s probably, because jump from short distance looks better. Less arm flailing and so on. I guess Reyes put that stone in there himself. A little detail to make him look cool on the scene Ah, great! The hero we need, but don’t deserve (coz we’re lazy). I think I saw Krogans above that door when I visited the secret underground lake. But they weren’t hostile… In fact, I think they were the scouts we rescued from that medical experiment ship? Maybe if you rescue them, they kill whatever scum is there before? And if not, the outlaws are there to fight you?? Well, now I’m really curious to see what you uncover. You know how some time ago we went giving Zitrus titles for being A++ informator? I think this is just the thing Those are the doors, yep. There are the krogan above it and the Collective shuttle right in front of it, under the ridge the krogan are on. In Criminal Past, Jensen goes to prison ( he stole one energy bar too many he’s undercover), so his augs are deactivated and you don’t get all that many praxis during the course of the DLC – I believe it's possible to play the entire DLC without reactivating your augs, which feels quite tempting. In Pritchard’s DLC they’re just set to zero no explanation and you’re dumped with a pile of praxis, but it's still less than what you probably have in the main game at that stage. The DLC are accessed separately from the main many, so there’s no communication with the actual game. The item is a toy police car that Adam gave to Megan “to make up” for the indignity of picking her up in a patrol car (I think) (just how extra is Megan? ). IMO it’s just best to win the dialogue battle against the blackmailer and tell him to man up + handle his own problems by himself. He agrees, gives Jensen the evidence and you’re good to go. I absolutely won’t kill the dealers for him. In fact, I think there should be an option to rat your old buddy to Sarif - tell him to confess “voluntarily” and maybe the issue could be settled without police involvement. Just let me take my security job seriously? Also that way you could rub solving the case against Pritchard’s face. Hehe, I can totally imagine Jensen stealing that last bar, which makes an alarm sound an a very commanding cop order him to go to prison, Monopoly-like Yeah, how dared he. She's the Miranda of DX, so perhaps she thinks she's very special and entitled to all? Gave me that vibe anyway I didn't even know that was a possibility. Or I knew it and chose to ignore it because a part of the quest would be lost that way. I don't really mind offing a dealer or two (but who knows, maybe even being shot in the ass with a sleeping dart would make them acknowledge the evil of their ways or something), but the whole scene gets somewhat awkward. To be honest, I was kinda hoping it would be possible to persuade/intimidate these guys, don't know why, though, I've forgotten that part. Whoa, that would make Jensen quite an ass. He may be security but he's still running around reading everyone's e-mail, hardly a model worker One more conversation with Pritchard is always welcome. Ha, they’re just coworkers that he gets along with just fine. Proving that mostly it’s just Jensen that he has beef with. Well, you need level 5 hacking aug to even try, so it’s among the hardest encryptions in the game. I guess those augs that Pritchard has himself are also hacking related. But whatever do you mean? Jensen’s a master hackerman. Still the weird part. How come he has time to get along fine with o workers, being stuck in the lab all day or writing his script? But, actually, he had a partner for those investigation gimmicks so he must get along with somebody. I really can’t see reason for anyone to be annoyed by Jensen since he mostly says nothing. Because it’s that crucial a piece of info that Pritchard is writing a scenario Does he comment on it when Jensen hacks his PC? Don’t tell me he wouldn’t notice. <abbr title="Oct 19, 2017 13:29:51 GMT 2" class="o-timestamp time" data-timestamp="1508412591000">Oct 19, 2017 13:29:51 GMT 2</abbr> orchid said: You get a nice look at all the augmentations that Jensen has, like his fake heart etc. No, he doesn’t. He just doesn’t strike me as someone who revels in excess violence. People who know can just walk away, and I think knowing that somebody is unleashing pheromones at you also diminishes their effect. It’s more of a suggestion than a foolproof mind control device. In MD a person pulls a gun at Jensen when he tries to use the pheromones on them. Hm, Jensen can use them on Malik (didn’t pick that so dunno how she reacts), but never tries with Pritchard – a sign that he cares? Oh and an important clarification, since I realized how confusing I've been! it's the pheromones that can cause harm, not just the CASIE aug by itself. That take the replaceable parts thing to a whole new level. Any part of Jensen can be closely examined. Hopefully he doesn’t just mislay them somewhere... I see. Doesn’t look all that extremely useful then. I’d expect that in a few years that aug will be outdated. Interesting, do they pull the gun whenever Jensen tried to do so, or only if he fails? It may also be a sign that he knows he’d get nothing out of it Or the need never really arises. Oh, if they find bodies, I don't think that has a good impact on it. Same if they see you before they are taken out. Hide the evidence and don't let them see your actions^^. I think if you put the guy in the correct spot he won't be found but I chose the wrong one lol. Maybe because it's not mainly a stealth game they found it unnecessary. I don't remember if Ubi implemented one like this in the last Splinter Cell either. (I know about their antics . Maybe if I ever play it again he'll get his chance. If you're kinda crazy you have to dress the part.) Huh, what did ruin that ghost then? I guess the Outsider watched or something. Hide the evidence, lol. You know how many respectable policemen of Dunwall inexcplicably woke up stuffed inside a dumpster? That guy could have seen me, though. I’m not sure if I knocked him out first or if I killed the inquistior and then knocked him out. Whatever, if that game has a permanent ghost or no kill achievement I’ll never get it, since even if I return to it, I’ll have Corvo slaughter all Daud’s guys again, leaving only him. Who cares about these things anyway. I don’t know, there are many kinds of crazy. And this Malk’s brand of crazy seems to be a mad seer poet that can rearrange your brain cells into new interesting patterns on a whim, not omgomgomg, look at me, I’m so bonkers I can wear this stuff I found in a trash bin next to a brothel and I look great in it! A little more class would be appreciated. In a mad way, but still class. (I found a mod for just that, actually. Oh, fuck, I’ve touched the legend. But if it’s for aesthetic reasons, what the hell.) Remember when they talk in the lift in the beginning and Pritchard explains how to "fix" a firewall, I mean, plug the loophole, and then saying Jensen is just an ex-cop and wouldn't understand? He replies that Pritchard would be surprised. Also, multi tools solve everything. That’s just Jensen playing tough, I suppose. orchid You mean the forum in general or the thread?

Could you imagine Reyes as his version of a wino? haha a whisko connoisseur. XD I had to get it out as soon as possible. It was begging to be written, especially since my interests in Andromeda unfortunately went downward after they announced no DLC. I'm super pleased with the opening chapter. I hope you like it when you get the chance to read it!

Just leaving a few picks of my today's attempt at getting some decent High noon shots + One that made me laugh, somebody wake Mr. Sniper Guy, or the entire master plan goes into shit! Also, reposting that edit for starlord from my yesterday's post where it may be hard to notice. I already read it. Cool way to set things up. Ends a bit too soon, though Btw could you please delete the rest of my terribly long rant from the quotation? Surely one version is bad enough.

(At least I think I did it) If you want, I can just tag you in responses instead of quoting? LOVE YOUR EDITS!!!! Hahaha, I have to leave people hanging for the **mystery** of it. LOL I based Katia off Lorraine Broughton because I am a trash can that loves movies with 80's music, amazing costume design, and ladies kicking the shit out of people. So... Echoes in Neon will have that moody neon drenched aesthetic. Made my friend watch the Reyes romance route yesterday that FluffyNinjaLlama did, she said and I quote "I say it coming, but I didn't think they'd do it and now I'm angry." HAHA Indoctrinated another to the dark side muhaha

Just leaving a few picks of my today's attempt at getting some decent High noon shots + One that made me laugh, somebody wake Mr. Sniper Guy, or the entire master plan goes into shit! Lol maybe Reyes kept practicing his dramatic speech over and over again before Sloane's arrival, and the sniper fell asleep out of boredom. But it looks like his left eye is ever so slightly open, so it's probably supposed to signify him aiming. I like the soft look to those Reyes pics, nice work. :smiles: By the way, mentioning Ryder's favorite vids leads me to wonder what kind of vids Reyes would make Ryder watch... Hmm. What if for once there was a Mass Effect character that liked genuinely good cinema? It’s been all jokes like Blasto or Fleet & Flotilla so far. They’d also need to avoid the common Star Trek pitfall where people inexplicably love our contemporary (pop) culture and it’s represented as the character’s unusual quirk. Ooo, Reyes having an Aria level fortress so early on... well, why not, he has some resourceful guys at his disposal. [--] I think that location-wise they might stay true to the cave system, it has worked well for them so far, and after the Pathfinder's kind intervention even the sulfur might clear in some time. Seriously, you call this overall nice and agreeable squad wacky? And you can put up with me? Aria’s fortress was mostly concrete slabs and metal, so yeah, I don’t think Omega level infrastructure would be beyond Reyes’ means. It’s not that far from the Draullirr cave (or whatever it was called) level tech. With more resources, stuff like better security network could be build. As for the sulfur, well, there goes the moat. Kidnap me into an erupting volcano and we’ll see how much patience I’ll have left with you. Romance! Wait what, you don’t find the wall slam the hottest thing in the game? I thought that was the highlight of the romance. (that would look a bit like the nerd rage perk ) Nice. I approve of that mental image. That’d be a great idea for a pro-Sloane run. Reyes that’s not so good-humored and mellow anymore. Some slight shift in attitude depending on our choices would be interesting, and plausible considering what a huge difference it makes for Reyes’ circumstances. He would have to arrange his left-over Collective in brand a new manner too, considering that the old Charlatan tactics must be thrown away. Maybe he’d start cultivating a more personable approach, with a tighter crew, and more reliance on his charisma. After all, Reyes is charismatic and if he chose, he’d have the ability to learn to use it effectively as a gang leader. From what I’ve read, the base is (of course) hostile if pro-Sloane Ryder goes there and the prisoners have been executed. Are there any hints towards an evacuation being underway? Reyes himself pretty much gives the location away to Ryder, so I’d imagine that he’d order everyone to leave with as much equipment as they can carry. Killing the prisoners might hint at that as well. At any case, the location is really too close to the Port, and they’d be better off either on wholly other planet or at least on another of Kadara’s continents. Recruitment would definitely be closed for the foreseeable future. Reyes needs to lay low and only keep the most loyal operatives (or those that are too deep to go anywhere else), until he has a good plan of opposition for Kaetus’ death squads. Bah, who’d rat him out? The rest of his crew would unfortunately need to find some other place to crash. Maybe Reyes even would refuse the let rest of his people freeze their butts while he enjoying the luxury cabin. (But then again, maybe he would. At least for a spell…) If Reyes had received the same attention as the squad LIs, this would have happened. Either that or Ryder visiting his home. The scene practically writes itself. Is it? I thought it wasn’t. Well, good, Reyes is safe, then. [--] but I mostly see it the same way as a lacking choice of a written answer, or simply not getting the solution I wanted for a quest. It’s never perfect, voiced or mute. Not perfect, true, but way closer to that than a few voiced dialogues that all say the same thing for all intents and purposes. If a dialogue that can be had in real life (infinite possibilities) and which can never be emulated in a video game is rated as 10, I’d still rather pick the dialogue system that rates as 6 than just be happy with 2. I’m not against the highest level shady bad boy romance at all. It would be intriguing to see how far Reyes would get over the course of another game or two... also rewarding as far as the High noon choice goes. They could easily go overboard with it, though. Aria Mk. II, Reyes should not become. Plot armor strength, though? If my Death theory is valid, it must be Reyes. Surely Liara can boast no such feat. Hm yes, Reyes cheats himself a victory. Sounds good to me. Next time Reyes makes a big move, he probably has his own remnant bot army scavenged from the Kadara vault. Well, I can very well see Ryder assisting with the hacking when no one is looking. They work together, after all. And a bot army is a bot army. Always useful when you want to take.. or keep hold on something (hmm, wonder how many remnant bots it takes to wound one angry cthulhu...) Well, the Initiative has the advantage of that Remnant fleet that Ryder activated. Angara might scramble to reprogram some of the bots for themselves as well. The setting truly starts to get interesting here IMO. What a pity we’ll never see what could happen next. I love how uncle is stuck for Mr. Sniper Guy. He.. sorta looks like an uncle. A stable, chatty uncle who made the trip with his favorite nephew. Yay Did Reyes talk him into accompanying him to Andromeda or vice versa? Is the rest of the family still in the freezers? Will there be a family dinner with Ryder + mom and Reyes and his folks? You know how some time ago we went giving Zitrus titles for being A++ informator? I think this is just the thing Those are the doors, yep. There are the krogan above it and the Collective shuttle right in front of it, under the ridge the krogan are on. Well in my game there was no shuttle, but an escape pod. Not a broken Turian one, but one of those bubble looking ones. Nothing came up scanning it. No Collective property anywhere. Weird!

Done! Made my friend watch the Reyes romance route yesterday that FluffyNinjaLlama did, she said and I quote "I say it coming, but I didn't think they'd do it and now I'm angry." HAHA Indoctrinated another to the dark side muhaha Either that or delete, it gets weird to see even more of my posts all over the thread. Btw has anyone tried scrolling down the previous page on mobile? Killer stuff, that So it would seem. Will that happen often? This particular Shepard is one you played or just one that gets used for the fic? Good work. Still, the dark side... is this supposed to be the dark side? Lol maybe Reyes kept practicing his dramatic speech over and over again before Sloane's arrival, and the sniper fell asleep out of boredom. But it looks like his left eye is ever so slightly open, so it's probably supposed to signify him aiming. I like the soft look to those Reyes pics, nice work. Now that would be a show of unwavering loyalty alright Who else to patiently listen and give feedback on individual attempts to find out the most impactful way of making the speech? (lmao, Reyes practicing like that. Another vid for the interesting Heleus footage collection). Yeah, I see it now, but on my computer it seemed like they were both closed and he was just having some really nice sniping dreams Btw what if at the crucial moment SAM went "Sniper. His sights are set on Sloane. However, at the moment he seems to be, as the popular saying goes, sleeping like a log" *warn Reyes interrupt* No really, how would Reyes wriggle out of that one? Thanks. Well, it was the only way to stop him from glowing. The real question is whether there even is good cinema to be found anywhere in the universe since nobody seems to watch any. In MEA there is the overacting turian movie (which btw I'd love to see, seems like one of those that are so bad they're actually adorable) and those soap operas kallos watches. And the shit Liam watches... really, where is an indication therevs anythig else? But I guess if there is anything like that to be found, Reyes might just be the right person to kwno about it. And the pitfall would be the culture or the fact it's a quirk? I suppose in ME they really have little need to go into details why anyone likes this outdated shit, there will always be people who will be into old stuff... I haven't actually studied either that much so it could be possible. The question is where to get these, though. Omega had some parts pre-build and there was a whole galaxy to gather stuff in, while the AI seems to have mostly some generic prefab parts. Time to steal from he angara? (Or retrofit some remnant?) Ah, that's actually why there's never a word from Reyes as to the water being clean. Yea, the water is clean, but there were filters before. And now there's no natural hazard to conceal Collective's operations and serve as a natural trash compactor. Maybe he's not all that happy? Good point *returns to intent study of volcano activity reports* Wait what, you don’t find the wall slam the hottest thing in the game? I thought that was the highlight of the romance. Oh, it's great and all (It's hard to talk about highlights in the romance for me. That it exists is a highlight in itself) But I've got to leave Ryder to be her usual appreciative self... after all, she has enough on her mind to realize she's just being a part of the hottest scene in the game (Yep, she still kinda needs an hour of reckless Nomad driving and a bottle on the Tempest to process shit. Some distracting memories about later cave events help, though) Nice. Considering he was good humored before and it wasn't just that he has a way with people.. which he might rethink once he loses in that cave, sure. Otherwise... well, that's intriguing. He'd surely handle it, but he might have to work quite hard to achieve the hardcore mafia boss status after he made quite a name for himself as the shady smuggler persona, and that would come with a lot of convincing. Can't see how he'd achieve that without somehow proving that he means business. Wonder if his meeting Ryder wouldn't be all but unpleasant then. He could have undergone significant shifts in peronaliy, after all. He might find himself less inclined to be forgiving once those are in place. (Btw those shifts in attitude would be depending on the dialogue choices with him or the result of the duel altogether?) From what I’ve read, the base is (of course) hostile if pro-Sloane Ryder goes there and the prisoners have been executed. I'm not sure there's anything. I usually left the base alone, just tried it once to find the prisoners, there didn't seem to be any other changes but maybe I missed something. I don't know if he really gave Ryder the location when he said they were somewhere in the caves. I know it's supposed to be his way of showing off his accomplishments, but how big's the chance Ryder will actually find the base? not like there weren't hundreds of caves over the planet. They mostly seem to stumble across it in the quest for the mogul salarian who conveniently misplaced his people in there (he's not in league with Reyes, is he?) That's when all those satellites might come in handy, isn't it? Maybe they already have an escape planet... if they don't, I'd kinda expect them to stay on Kadara, the other habitable worlds seems a bit too risky to settle on unseen. Wonder is some of his people are actually so deep they don't even have a chance to hear about High noon till it's quite late... The space hamster. Whoever said that thing didn't have a hidden agenda? (Fuuuck, maybe he's in league with cthulus ). Anyway, the gossip can spread in the weirdest ways. Maybe someone saw Reyes getting off Tempest to look on Prodromos whiskey storage or something? Lmao, it would get pretty uncomfortable in Ryder's quarters should half the Collective squat in there (preferably on the bed). I don't really think Reyes is that kind of leader though His people are free to operate and hide however they wish and the like. Yep. I think this time it would be the Tempest, though, we've already seen Reyes' base of operation. Not sure it was the main one or one Reyes ever saw for himself, but it was there. For some reason I can imagine him suddenly appearing on the ship, not waiting to be invited like Liara I think I remember getting annoyed at having to hold the button in order to acces the cabin. BUt if he had more Collecitve people there the might cause ruckus and give him away all the same Not perfect, true, but way closer to that than a few voiced dialogues that all say the same thing for all intents and purposes. If a dialogue that can be had in real life (infinite possibilities) and which can never be emulated in a video game is rated as 10, I’d still rather pick the dialogue system that rates as 6 than just be happy with 2. Good point. I haven't really followed how many RPG protags get voiced so there may be a way back to it... (I can still see some horror images of people whining it is a step back, though) They could easily go overboard with it, though. Aria Mk. II, Reyes should not become. Aria and Reyes are their own people. I think that Sloane could go down that road should there be a sequel, but it's hard to imagine Reyes being anywhere similar to her. He'd be more like Shadow broker overboard than pirate queen overboard... But they could go eve more overboard with him, given Aria's rule only spanned one asteroid Hm yes, Reyes cheats himself a victory. Sounds good to me. Doesn't he always? Well, the Initiative has the advantage of that Remnant fleet that Ryder activated. Angara might scramble to reprogram some of the bots for themselves as well. The setting truly starts to get interesting here IMO. What a pity we’ll never see what could happen next. Yeah. That's the worst part. They had it all set up for the interesting stuff to happen and then nothing, possibly ever. Well, maybe we will see something but who knows what form it will take. I'll probably be mistrustul anyway. Did Reyes talk him into accompanying him to Andromeda or vice versa? Is the rest of the family still in the freezers? Will there be a family dinner with Ryder + mom and Reyes and his folks? Maybe they decided independently and then found out If not, my guess is that Reyes made uncle come because he knew a sniper is always useful. Plus it was his favorite uncle and all. Might be interesting if there actually were more of his family showing up along the way, but he didn't really seem like that type of Andromeda arrival. An uncle and that's all, I suppose. Hehe, there could be one (I can imagine Ellen coming up with something like that) but how could it possibly end? And who would do the cooking? Well in my game there was no shuttle, but an escape pod. Not a broken Turian one, but one of those bubble looking ones. Nothing came up scanning it. No Collective property anywhere. Weird! Yep, weird. They are certainly standing around some aircraft but I don't really remember if it's an escape pod (still a shuttle seems to come closer). Let's wait for what Zitrus uncovers. In the meantime, those guys are simply mysterious What, surely repeatedly stealing this extremely expensive drug is way worse than reading mails? I don’t know this character from before, so I can’t even evaluate whether he’s stringing Jensen along or if he’s sincere. And exposing him would be Jensen's job. Buut can you trust a security that will break into your office, hack the shit out of your PC, read your e-mails, steal your money and eat all your energy bars? Surely that's a new level of scum worker morale. Some people steal from their workplaces but this... Good point about the character. He may be lying but I guess there would be a way Jensen could get it out of him He must have a ton of energy to do everything he does. Workaholic, attempting to intrude on Jensen’s job too, his hacking exploits and computer things that he’s up to on his own time, his script, motorcycle mechanic hobby, and all the time needed to play (and probably argue on the Internet about) jRPGs. Yeah, Pritchard’s a dick and shits on Jensen for no good reason. How fortuitous for him that Jensen’s so receptive to back-and-forth snarking. Also, Jensen’s an ex-cop, while Pritchard spent time in prison for fraud or something, so there’s that too. I don’t believe he comments on Jensen’s hack. After you get the first opportunity to do this, he never returns to his office again. The last time you meet him in person is after you’ve checked Sarif’s forwarded mails in your office and meet Pritchard waiting outside your door. The true crime however is him not commenting on the candy bar thefts even if you do it right in front of his eyes. I’d add a time travel ability to the high energy.. his days must have 48 hours plus. Seems like too much to take for a single guy who pokes around his office for majority of the game. Maybe he just doesn’t like his face or something. Might work with the cop thing he’s just naturally wary now, it’s subconscious Or it might be something that happened before HR, I don’t remember if they are actually introduced after Jensen returns from his aug leave. He could still have returned to the office and find out.. but no harm if he didn’t, I suppose. Yeah, that calls for an especially snarky comment, more so if the energy bars could be the only thing keeping Pritchard high energy enough to handle all his activities. Damn, the older DX had NPC comment if you accidentally stumbled into a female bathroom... (aka possibly the only time a bathroom counted for something in a game. Why are the devs so stubborn about sticking absolutely insignificant bathrooms into games?) It’s merely like a catalogue showing the item. I mean he can’t remove his lungs to consider whether or not to activate the “breathe gas” augment on them. It was one specific person, and it was right upon activating the pheromones and before choosing any option. I think every other person that recognizes what Jensen’s up to just wags their finger at him. Yeah, Pritchard is always upfront about everything, so Jensen doesn’t have any need to force him to tell something. That image Jensen standing over his disembodied lungs trying to figure out where the "filtration on" button is with gas building up in the distance, wondering what idiot forgot to make it activate automatically... That's cool, actually. Everyone just seemed so fine with it in HR... Is the gun situation a conversation fail then or do they talk to Jensen when the pheromones are off? Yeah, the ideal relationship. Now if only they could stop bickerig like a couple of five-year olds.... (but maybe they like it?) Pritchard is insecure about the thought that the “new” security guy could be competent also in the cybersecurity side of things, and tries to dismiss Jensen as a stupid meat-head. Sounds legit Poor Pritchard, now if Jensen gos into screenplay writing, who knows what will happen. Well I mostly read this thread only, but I mean the pages load slowly, unlike other on websites, so I think it’s not my connection. Also I get that goddamn “turn adblock off” bullshit every time now. I’ll NEVER turn the adblock off, ya hear me! I hear you, I’m just not sure the browser does But this forum sometimes acts up in strange ways, ad block or no adblock

BloodOfShiagur I might through in some cliffhangers and abrupt endings here and there. Just to keep people on their toes hahahaha I created Katia Shepard as my first ever Shepard PC. My latest Shepard was a red head named Quinn who was a bit of a wild card that I created a lot of headcanons for- which made the game I beat what seems like hundreds of times, super fun again. Katia is to honor my first (quite terrible tbh) run, but with Quinn's background + Charlize Theron's Atomic Blonde aesthetic. Should make for something interesting. Yes I believe so. Reyes is a bad in a good way. It'll be very difficult to forget him (can remember his quest line in order, but can't for the life of me remember Andromedas full plot LOL)

Yes I believe so. Reyes is a bad in a good way. It'll be very difficult to forget him (can remember his quest line in order, but can't for the life of me remember Andromedas full plot LOL)Yeah, this. I can still recall Reyes content clearly enough, but everything else is just a hazy recollection. Now that would be a show of unwavering loyalty alright Who else to patiently listen and give feedback on individual attempts to find out the most impactful way of making the speech? (lmao, Reyes practicing like that. Another vid for the interesting Heleus footage collection). [--] Btw what if at the crucial moment SAM went "Sniper. His sights are set on Sloane. However, at the moment he seems to be, as the popular saying goes, sleeping like a log" *warn Reyes interrupt* No really, how would Reyes wriggle out of that one? Sweat beads appear on Reyes’ brow as seconds pass with nothing happening. Sloane sees he’s hesitating and goes for the kill – and Ryder will just have to intervene to save their boyfriend’s ass. Reyes would get what he wanted and it wouldn’t make a huge difference – but it would rather ruin the effect he was going for. Mr. Sniper Guy would get as stern talking as you can give to a beloved, elder family member, too... Reyes seems a natural when it comes to melodramatic entrances, but then again I can also imagine him practicing his finger guns Travis Bickle style. Thanks. Well, it was the only way to stop him from glowing. And it worked well. :3 You’re very shy with your Ryder, though, all the screens have her hiding behind her hair, hehe. There’s also that one asari porno that everyone watches. One porno fits all! I think Liam came closest to a realistic portrayal of someone with an actual interest in movies, though I can’t remember anymore what the titles were. If I were to make one these scenes where people watch a movie, I'd probably go for an old sci-fi horror, so I guess I'm not much better at coming up with a scenario. The pitfall would be that the “old stuff” these future characters love just so happens to be cultural products contemporary to the audience. In theory, it could happen, but in practice it usually just breaks the illusion. The question is where to get these, though. [--] (Or retrofit some remnant?) Ah, that's actually why there's never a word from Reyes as to the water being clean. Yea, the water is clean, but there were filters before. And now there's no natural hazard to conceal Collective's operations and serve as a natural trash compactor. Maybe he's not all that happy? Good point *returns to intent study of volcano activity reports* But I thought we had a truce. Or something. Oh yeah, Reyes could squat at some Remnant vault… But no, scratch that, that’s too dumb even to be entertained. Even I have some limits with this shit. Lmao at Reyes being pissed off at the water purifying ruining his fort’s natural defenses, but not being able to whine at Ryder’s face because he can’t complain when “the greater good” has been served. And Ryder never understands that Reyes is sulking and just martyrizes themselves over not being rightfully accredited. Oh, it's great and all (It's hard to talk about highlights in the romance for me. That it exists is a highlight in itself) But I've got to leave Ryder to be her usual appreciative self... after all, she has enough on her mind to realize she's just being a part of the hottest scene in the game Oh, so not getting swept away in the moment? Poor Reyes, he's at his best form and it all goes to waste. (Btw those shifts in attitude would be depending on the dialogue choices with him or the result of the duel altogether?) I would have it result from losing the duel and the consequent fight for survival, since this would be too big of a change to depend on a few words made by our player character. Reyes has been proved not being depended on Ryder in anyway, so it wouldn't fit at all. The convincing would come from the fact that he really was the Charlatan. Anybody who accepted that wouldn’t have need to question if he can run the Collective. There could be people suspicious if he really was the Charlatan, or just a low-level deep cover agent sacrificed while the real Charlatan has fled someplace else. Even so , it would just suit Reyes if these people and other challengers that wanted to wrest control away from him, defied him openly. All the easier for him to get rid of them. It’s not that long ago that Reyes started from nothing, so we can assume that his basic skills would suffice in that task. After the pruning, the new core group would be all the more close-knit, suiting this new hypothetical look for him. Well, I’ve always thought that Reyes would regard a pro-Sloane Ryder an enemy if they met again, with maybe some slight chance of cold cordiality if they were forced to pursue the same goal. So yeah, that IMO wouldn’t change in this scenario either. But if Reyes changed his outlook sufficiently and managed to thrive in spite of losing to Sloane, he might actually be less hostile, since he'd potentially see the change as ultimately welcome catalyst. I don't know if he really gave Ryder the location when he said they were somewhere in the caves. I know it's supposed to be his way of showing off his accomplishments, but how big's the chance Ryder will actually find the base? not like there weren't hundreds of caves over the planet. They mostly seem to stumble across it in the quest for the mogul salarian who conveniently misplaced his people in there (he's not in league with Reyes, is he?) I guess it depends on how much Ryder is taken to spelunking and exploring. Usually I think it could be guessed that they poke their heads into any caves they might find. This is mixing meta-gaming into it a bit, but when an NPC tells that there’s a shiny secret location somewhere, the natural course of action is to go and find it. Also the crew is told in advance to treat Ryder as VIP, meaning Reyes is well prepared and has drilled his men on etiquette for the eventuality. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was. Another sign directing Ryder towards the cave. The prospector’s corpse is right close to the door way, too. The space hamster. Whoever said that thing didn't have a hidden agenda? (Fuuuck, maybe he's in league with cthulus ). [--] I don't really think Reyes is that kind of leader though His people are free to operate and hide however they wish and the like. Yep. I think this time it would be the Tempest, though, we've already seen Reyes' base of operation. Not sure it was the main one or one Reyes ever saw for himself, but it was there. For some reason I can imagine him suddenly appearing on the ship, not waiting to be invited like Liara See I released that rodent to some unsuspecting planet to destroy the local ecosystem. Problem: solved. You don’t think Reyes would provide a hide-out for his people, but would rather leave them to picked up and killed by whatever he was hiding from? Harsh. He’d have hard time keeping his gang together like that. Yes, Reyes as a stowaway seems highly likely. On the other hand, it would be insanely hard to make sure the crew didn’t notice, and Reyes hates that kind of attention... They could easily go overboard with it, though. Aria Mk. II, Reyes should not become. Aria and Reyes are their own people. I think that Sloane could go down that road should there be a sequel, but it's hard to imagine Reyes being anywhere similar to her. I meant it in respect to being a writer’s special pet. Reyes should meet a lot of obstacles on his path to becoming a new Shadow Broker or whatever he ultimately dreams of, otherwise it would fall flat and the character might risk becoming unlikeable. Resistance from the angara in general towards even more powerful aliens, the Initiative subtly working to curb his influence, internal Kadaran power struggles... Hm yes, Reyes cheats himself a victory. Sounds good to me. Doesn't he always? He won Ryder’s heart by his own true merits. Yep, weird. They are certainly standing around some aircraft but I don't really remember if it's an escape pod (still a shuttle seems to come closer). Let's wait for what Zitrus uncovers. In the meantime, those guys are simply mysterious Maybe they appear once the water quest is activated. I don’t remember how that all goes. All I know is that if you randomly go there, the door is closed and can’t be opened (why bother with an open world if you can’t stumble upon these things and activate quests in random order? one of the worst parts of the game).

Yes I believe so. Reyes is a bad in a good way. It'll be very difficult to forget him (can remember his quest line in order, but can't for the life of me remember Andromedas full plot LOL) Bad in a good way doesn't equal any kind of bad to me at all, it's more of an indicator this character won't be boring, but yeah, I guess we can still be the dark side alright. Not like there's any "badder" LI in Andromeda. He cheats in duels and shit. How's the fic going? Hehe. The effect would be gone, yep, along with all the drama. It would also give Ryder a beautiful chance to break some tense silence with "what the actual fuck??" after the duel situation is resolved, and probably make at least slight shifts in the whole Reyes/Ryder thing, given Reyes would very obviously owe them his life at that point, not to mention a lot of his rep would depend on Ryder keeping this little pice of info to themselves ( to laugh about only in private) Also made me wonder how a scene like that would influence the decision making... how many people would look past the fake duel thing as long as it wouldn't actually work? But really, how much shit is anyone able to give their favorite uncle just because he falls asleep in inconvenient places and at the most dire moments due to age? Well, if not that, I can pretty wel imagine him making finger guns at his reflection in the mirror just for fun, provided he has a mirror, that is. He may have done it back in the Milky way, at least. Bet he counts being melodramatic among his hobbies And it worked well. :3 You’re very shy with your Ryder, though, all the screens have her hiding behind her hair, hehe. Shy? Nope, I just focus on Reyes in these screens, and, quite frankly, it's a nice change from that shitload of Ryder pics my screen folder is spammed with. Plus, if ther were a more messy hairstyle in the game, she'd be using it. She's not the type to have her hair in order when her looks aren't the focus, so it's fitting anyway. Maybe it's porn with many asari doing alll the stuff anyone can think of, with anything anyone can think of, and that concept killed all competition except maybe some minor indie vorcha on a goldfish porn that's banned in polite society anyway? Ehm. Anyway, Liam talks about a lot of movies, and even more so with his banter with Cora (who's implied to have seen it all as well), so yeah, I guess he's the person. Old sci-fi horro as in old at that time or a really old one? Maybe I just haven't encountered it enough times to mind it, but I don't really have a problem with this one. Yeah, it's a lazy excuse for not coming up with their own vision of some sci-fi culture, but whatever... It's actually nice that ME tries at least a little. But I thought we had a truce. Oh, yeah, we do have a truce or something, as far as I know. How in the blazes does that relate to a research of volcanic activity which I'm conducting partly because those reports have comforting lava pictures and partly because who knows when knowing recent volcanic activity may yet come to be useful? Why dumb? I doubt it would be Reyes squatting there anyway, he probably wouldn't do the retrofitting personally. ut if he had to hide for any reason, he could squat in a Remnant vault just as well as anywhere else, I guess. He might be slightly bored, but the purpose of hiding would be served. Also, few would probably look for him there. Hmm, but maybe when the whole Charlatan thing is revealed, maybe he could complain a little? Surely Ryder would understand a tactical viewpoint, and it's definitely better than unexplainable sulking. I would have it result from losing the duel and the consequent fight for survival, since this would be too big of a change to depend on a few words made by our player character. I wonder if he's actually the only independent Li ever That's a great. It would have to be pretty easy to arrange too, no matter the state of the Collective resources. It's just the matter of letting lose some convenient rumors, nobody knows for sure what happened in that cave. If these were played right they could even make Sloane look delusional, falling into another of Charlatan's traps while he's being ominous somewhere behind the corner. It might make it eaasier to rebuild, though it probably wouldn't stop the Collective infighting (I suppose that one's inevitable. it wouldn't necessarily have to be about the agents not being sure he can run things... maybe they just wouldn't accept him personally. because of the smuggler thing and all.). As for Reyes having it easy in that case, I'm not sure. depends who would oppose him and who would stay with him. He could pretty well find his ass on fire I must say I never imagined Reyes and Ryder meeting againg under another circumstanes than having to work together for any reason, so some form of cooperation always seemed to go beyond saying. That might well happen, even though I don't know about the cordiality. I'd like it if I went with the pro-Sloane saves. It would fit the RP. If he'd go with the cold thing, his attitude would then be very close to Ryder's.. which would probably leave their relationship cold and professional. Seeing each other as an eventually educational mistake they won't repeat, that would be a fitting resolution to the whole thing, comes to think of it. Oh, so not getting swept away in the moment? Poor Reyes, he's at his best form and it all goes to waste. Enjoying making out around dead enemies, the messier the preceding scene the better.. that's a whole different character of mine I'm thinking of. To Reyes' disappointment it's not Ryder. She hasn't yet seen so much shit, in a way cares too much, thinks a bit too hard about it all to think getting sweptis fun. Anyway, not getting swept away amounts to the whole thing being a waste? I wouldn't go that far.... I guess it depends on how much Ryder is taken to spelunking and exploring. Yeah, metagame-wise it makes perfect sense. But if you imagine it in the world of the game, where there are a thousand times more options for Ryder to go, how can Reyes be so sure they'll find exactly that one cave? Someone's got to fund that effort, I guess (if indeed there is an effort and the whole quest isn't just an elaborate "Collective this way" marker se tup by Reyes) That salarian seemed a bit too well off for Kadara... See I released that rodent to some unsuspecting planet to destroy the local ecosystem. Neat way to prevent such unplesantries, even though I'm nor sure how one lonely rodent could damage an entire ecosysten.. in a cluster that barely has one funtioning ecosystem to speak of. That would be quite a feat. Nah, nothing that harsh, I suppose he must have some emergency plans, maybe the Collective already has some hideouts prepared just in case (the Charlatan provides, after all, right?) I just doubt he'd let them squat at Ryder's quarters. (I also doubt Ryder woul be so generous as to allow that) I guess the crew would know one way or another, the Tempest is not that big. It would probably be for the best to come clean right away and expect no one will run their mouth about it (Hell, it's Ryder's ship anyway. If Ryder says the Charlatan will be squatting around quietly for a few weeks, who can stop it from happening?) I meant it in respect to being a writer’s special pet. It didn't seem to be the case, according to the range of reponses he could get from Ryder. I suppose it wouldbe fine as long as the writer didn't change or something... I'd actually expect Reyes expanding his influence to serve as a good base for quests in any future sequels, it would be a wasted opportunity if in a sequel everything would be just ideal for his business... especially the power struggles seem likely to be there, either concerning Keema and her guys or some ambitious individuals within the Collective itself... The same goes for the AI, surely they wouldn't like an exile gang expanding into their territory, plus quandaries, nosy teenagers and the like. The tricky part about the Angara is that they may not know what species the Charlatan is, though. He won Ryder’s heart by his own true merits. A sweet way to put it. And actually true. Maybe they appear once the water quest is activated. I don’t remember how that all goes. All I know is that if you randomly go there, the door is closed and can’t be opened (why bother with an open world if you can’t stumble upon these things and activate quests in random order? one of the worst parts of the game). I'm pretty sure I saw them before that, since in my first pt I missed the water quest. It seemed a bit low priority and then I forgot all about it.... ( I must admit I have nothing against a locked door or two, open world or not. A clear indicator of "you don't have to go there now, it will be involved in a quest", which is good for planning and prevents annoying need to revisit locations as well as weird shit from occurring (there's this one memory of Oblivion that makes me lol to this day, which convinced me some boundaries are fine). Well, that’s why you shouldn’t steal, you know. But let's see. The email spying is to investigate the office rumors and finger-pointing. If Sarif composes job contracts that give him the right to chop off his employees’ limbs + organs and replace them with experimental tech, he probably also has clauses that the corporate security can at any time check on their work e-mail, too. Come oon, where would be the fun in that? I've actually started a new pt today. I've already managed to rob most offices, with the exception of Pritchard's, I'm saving that one for a special occasion. I've also got shot by police because I threw a small cardboard box at one of their guys. Touchy edgelords True, but are there also some parts in these contracts about possible reassingnment of personal energy bars and other resources for the use of security staff anytime? Wait, they mention the chopping of limbs thing somewhere? Please don’t try to invalidate my illogical and stupid ship like that. If anything, he likes his face too much. Anyway, the root cause I think is the issue of Pritchard originally wanting a private company like Belltower to handle security, and was strongly against Sarif hiring Jensen. There's no introduction needed, since they already know each other; Pritchard just unceremoniously gets right to work on fixing Jensen's eyes. What's so illogical about this ship, provided there is actually something like a logical ship? I was thinking of it more metaphorically than Pritchard not really liking Jensen's physical appearance, as in him not liking his cop like expressions or the like Btw I actually found out today I like Pritchard more. Jensen's a bit too overboard pointy That's still no explanation to why he would seek kindergarten rivalry with Jensen, though. I think that jealousy or the like (as in those "don't mess with my job" comments) is closer to the truth. Oh did you miss the similar comment in HR if you go ladies’ bathroom? It’s by none other than Pritchard, too. I think you need to go to a bathroom before going to see him in his office to get the comment. Either I missed it (Jensen doesn't really seem the ladies' bahroom type) or I don't remember it. Something to check, that crime is still missing on his list Well, who but Pritchard should be the one to comment on it? (save for perhaps the receptionist lady) ]U know it. They’re like an old married couple. You should play MD to see these things in person, it’s much more fun. You can continue the conversation, I think it’s during a dialogue battle and you can make them less hostile. I don’t know what happens if you fuck the dialogue up. The image of these two an as an old married couple that for some reason sprung in my mind is strangely funny But yeah, pritchard must be bored after HR when he has no one to be a smartass to. Yeah, yeah, I may or may not have bought it today in a steam sale anyway... but it seems this old thing Ive got here won't handle it by a long shot, so I don't know when I'll actually get to it. Well see the Picus person already replied to Pritchard that his hacker hero was underhanded and sucky and nobody wants to root for him ( ), and that he should rewrite him into a heroic ex-cop that’s good at fighting and “still upholds justice”. Btw I found the cutest fanart: jensen with a kittyAlso due to reasons, I've deleted the vast majority of the old pics I've posted on these forums. I haven't bothered to rehost them and edit my old posts, because I doubt anybody reads them, but if somebody wonders, that's the reason! How could anyone actually blame him for anything when he has shit like that tu put up with It would be interesting to know whether he got rejected like this before or after he met Jensen. Btw have I ever mentioned that if you add some diacritics to Picus you get a Czech sweardword you don't use unless your IQ is 60 or less? No matter how may times I see that word, I still can't unsee it Aww, those paw prints on the table Even Jensen looks sort of cute in there. What reasons are those if I may ask?

He may have done it back in the Milky way, at least. Yes, I think a lot of people wouldn’t even catch the supposed falseness part of the duel and treat it as a straight fight that Reyes just happened to be losing. Very confusing. You're right that Reyes would really owe Ryder, probably too much for his liking. I doubt it would affect the actual agreement between him and the AI, but the fact would remain an unpleasant reminder between them, even if unspoken. Of course Reyes has a mirror; how else to style his hair? Now if only he also used it to look at his clothes. (Yes I still maintain that he should dress better.) Why dumb? I doubt it would be Reyes squatting there anyway, he probably wouldn't do the retrofitting personally. ut if he had to hide for any reason, he could squat in a Remnant vault just as well as anywhere else, I guess. He might be slightly bored, but the purpose of hiding would be served. Also, few would probably look for him there. Hmm, but maybe when the whole Charlatan thing is revealed, maybe he could complain a little? Surely Ryder would understand a tactical viewpoint, and it's definitely better than unexplainable sulking. Vaults attract a lot of attention, are full of robots, are unpleasant to navigate and might have who knows what kind of traps, and tend to have only one entrance via a gravity well. If your access to the surface is cut off, you're fucked. Somebody ought to survey them properly, though. It seems the Initiative is happy to just have them activated and no science team is ever sent to study them, so maybe the Collective could pick up the slack on this front in the case of Reyes' being victorious. Hide-out material they’re not, however. Yah, but I tried to fit it into the frame of Reyes not having any dialogue for when the vault’s reset, and how that’s been a long-standing complaint for us. That's a great. As for Reyes having it easy in that case, I'm not sure. depends who would oppose him and who would stay with him. He could pretty well find his ass on fire Huh, so Reyes would deliberately paint it so that he’s not the Charlatan? I thought of it more as people challenging his identity and whether he’s fit to lead the Collective. Even if preserving the Charlatan’s mystery would have the benefits you mention, I don't think it would be a good look for Reyes personally to purposefully pretend to be some nonentity that the “real Charlatan” threw under the bus. He’d still be in the spotlight AND be thought of as an expendable joke, unless he entirely re-invented himself. But by now everyone knows his face, so he’s lost his earlier advantages anyway. I don’t think he’d want that, although it's an interesting idea. As for “having it easy”, not that easy. Like I said, a challenger might accuse him of not really being the real Charlatan, and that such a challenger’s weakness would be in them underestimating Reyes (since he really IS the Charlatan), making it easier to get rid of them than if they were quietly plotting while pretending to be loyal to him. Still a pain, probably, but I think he’d handle it. After all, he's been the Charlatan for such a short time, so it's not like he's been toppled from a lifetime of privileged luxury. He still has it in him to do the basic groundwork type of stuff. I must say I never imagined Reyes and Ryder meeting againg under another circumstanes than having to work together for any reason, so some form of cooperation always seemed to go beyond saying. Depends on how much branching we could dare hope for. In general, it also sucks if you choose to side with a character (here it would be Sloane) and then be forced to work with an NPC that you rejected. It’s probably safe to assume that the majority that chose Sloane did so, because they prefer her over Reyes. If the sequel just killed her off and said, hey surprise, Reyes is in charge after all, it would be robbing us of our choice. Knowing the shittyness of Rachni queen “consequences” in ME3 etc., as well as Reyes’ plot armor, it could easily happen, but you know people wouldn’t like it. Of course, if the options were that or not getting Reyes at all, I'd take it. There seem to be degrees as to how mad Reyes is at Ryder based on his mails, but unfortunately I doubt they’d write all that many different nuanced dialogues for him. Probably romanced Reyes would just have extra bits tacked on, and even less if he was romanced but then rejected in High Noon. Educational mistake, that sounds good. Ryder especially could do with learning experiences. That would be one thing SAM can't walk them through. All the merrier during the dance scene, then. I think the glitchyness that mRyder is subjected to during the Tartarus scene contributes to me ranking the cave scene that much higher. The dead enemy has already been carted off by Mr. Sniper Guy, tho, and they’ve walked to wholly other section of the cave too, so it’s not like they’re making out on a corpse mountain. It's all good. Yeah, metagame-wise it makes perfect sense. But if you imagine it in the world of the game, where there are a thousand times more options for Ryder to go, how can Reyes be so sure they'll find exactly that one cave? Are there? Maybe there aren’t. Not as massive as that cave anyway. The squaddies comment on the cave as you drive past it, like it’s a really impressive cave. Of course, all this makes it also seem like rather unsafe a location for a secret HQ, ha. Well, game mechanics aside, I got the feeling Reyes wanted Ryder to go there and see how favorable the Collective comes out in comparison with the Outcasts, to dispel some of the nastier rumors. Ultimately it remains another of Reyes' unsolved little secrets... He won Ryder’s heart by his own true merits. A sweet way to put it. And actually true. Of course those merits include such effortless things as being handsome, having a sexy voice, and natural charm~
Vetra just wants to help figuring out what to do with that scrap metal: How is Ryder going to explain this to Reyes: 4) There was this guy hiding in a building with booze such as Serrice Ice Brandy (someone alert Reyes, pls) and he wore Reyes' vest - coincidence??? : Also I guess that's what Reyes' under clothes would look like if he had to set foot on Elaaden, too dirty to bear. He just wouldn't stand for it. :noo:

BloodOfShiagurIt's going pretty well! I don't want to confirm anything because I'm always late, but it's working out quite well. Aria and Reyes are hilarious together tbh. I have two one shots in the work for Life is Strange and Persona 5 as well, so I'm keeping busy! Hahahaha

I'm back from the Elaaden desert (no I didn't spend all those days there, that would have been extreme ). Nobody, except the raiders of course, at the Flophouse for me either. Interesting thing in front of the water cave. I go there and a shuttle lands. Drack shouts outlaws and I see oh, they wear blue. And sure enough, Outcast Raiders attacking us. We take care of them, I reload and go there again. Shuttle lands as before but this time it's Collective guys not attacking because we're allied. Hmm, so it's random and the Outcasts are expanding to Elaaden as well? Haven't seen them anywhere else though. The krogan scouts were up on the hill as usual, chatting. I didn't try to lure the enemies to them but I suspect they would have stayed like that. And in this little side quest on my way to the water, where you rescue some Nexus people from their crashed shuttle, there was actually an angara among the raiders, in red armour like the others. Yay I knew this question would come up . Some dogs need their fur cut so they can combine it into a pet shop with barber for animals and people. They were glitchy and sucked my party members into repeating their scavenging animations along them: Very helpful of them. Now, why do the Collective guys alway have this missing-one-arm glitch? Yeah, their "scavenging" animation is, uh, great. Yes, I remember him. I guess the vest really is the latest fashion and maybe he's preparing a party. For Reyes of course, it's his birthday. I know the game’s plot, Zitrus. What I’m saying is that the Praxis kits, which in any case were a very late addition in the dev process (originally you had to go the clinic for an operation every time – now that would be different) are very clearly a gamey thing that exists for gamey game play reasons, and just from narrative point of view it feels natural that you’re good to go from the start. It’ll fit the spirit of the lore, one transparent “this is how you level up” exposition dialogue aside. The time required is arbitrary anyway, and Jensen’s a biological marvel. Also there’s also some augs you haven’t got, or at least I didn’t have everything activated, so there are still those waiting for activation and the LIMB lady can refer to those. Jensen also must have already received proper training, since he knows how to use his giganto arm chisels in combat without mutilating himself or by having them go off by accident when cuddling with someone. (Don't mind me, I'm just being stubborn. ) Lol, I was 90% sure anyway it wouldn't meet your approval. I found the explanation from the devs. So it would have been your own decision to cut off limbs, not Sarif's. Also would have changed the narrative a bit in this regard. I prefer it the way it is now, have the augs but need to learn to use them properly as you go. This locking of functions is explained as safeguard against rejection. He doesn't suffer this but you could say they wanted to be on the safe side. I always think the brain as well has to get used to control all these things and that takes time or training, wouldn't want to stress it too much. Or you could see it as a psychological thing (I know that's not the game's explanation but still). If you play that he hates the augs he keeps himself from accessing their real potential by not fully acknowledging them. I find this clinic idea even more unrealistic, that you replace your legs for example and then just stroll out again. If it was just a replacement, okay, but cutting them off and then you're good to go. Especially because you see this one patient who has trouble walking with his new legs. Of course they could have put in "some weeks later" or so but you're kind of in a hurry with the missions. He doesn't have anyone to cuddle with though. He really needs a cat for the next game. How did you get past that bridge thing with the drones? That’s the part that makes me hesitate about replaying the dlc, because I know I’d get mad at it. The cloak became bit of a cheat mode for me at some point, tbh. I just activated it and dashed past people, on the last levels. *shame* If you keep refusing the "remedies" Wörthmüller will show you a secret path. Me too. It sneaked by everyone at the end of the last level and on the streets in the later stages. It made sense, no shame^^. Huh, what did ruin that ghost then? I guess the Outsider watched or something. Hide the evidence, lol. You know how many respectable policemen of Dunwall inexcplicably woke up stuffed inside a dumpster? That guy could have seen me, though. I’m not sure if I knocked him out first or if I killed the inquistior and then knocked him out. Whatever, if that game has a permanent ghost or no kill achievement I’ll never get it, since even if I return to it, I’ll have Corvo slaughter all Daud’s guys again, leaving only him. Who cares about these things anyway. Hehe, I knocked out a lot of them (yes, there's an achivement but I did it because I always do that). For good reason too. And that is those silly conversations they have. Three people saying randomly put together sentences over and over again without much variation, very Bethesda like. And to top it off, in the German version they were voiced by Shepard, Jacob and James. I was sitting there in the shadows, listening to them and thinking am I in Dunwall or on the Normandy? For my part, I finally got my hands on the glorified fanfic that is the Black Light novel (three weeks “in transit” – what did they do with it??). I just have to marvel why they didn’t use it for MD’s plot. It would be so much cleaner transfer from HR, and also better characters (thus far, I’m only ¼ in or so). It’s not all good, though, since there are some characterizations that go against material from the games. Also the chapters w/o Jensen (+ Pritchard) are boring as heck. The writing is extremely good for a fanfic, probably fine for genre fiction, and bad for actual literature. Well, that’s my impressions so far that nobody requested. Well, they read it of course since you said they were so eager to order it^^. I guess they really want people to get the stuff outside the game as well and only put those little allusions to what happened in between in the game. So it's better than you thought? I haven't started reading, yet. Also, Jensen’s shoulders are so broad that his head looks too small for his body. Lol yes. A lot of people in HR have too small heads. Those random people on the streets as well.

It's going pretty well! I don't want to confirm anything because I'm always late, but it's working out quite well. Aria and Reyes are hilarious together tbh. Yay, Aria and Reyes together. This should be fun Yes, I think a lot of people wouldn’t even catch the supposed falseness part of the duel and treat it as a straight fight that Reyes just happened to be losing. (Yes I still maintain that he should dress better.)I think even the game would forget it just as it seems to forget Mr. Sniper Guy the moment his part is done, so it would be quite easy to miss. But, actually, allowing Reyes to lose specifically because he's cheating anyway.. that would be one hell of a coldhearted choice. I may or may not like it (although I probably wouldn't have the heart to take it, and then regret there's no "hey, I saw you trying to cheat, you know!!" dialogue) Hopefully Reyes knows better than to let ego get in the way of business like that (doesn't seem that type to me either), but it kinda makes me wonder whether he'd be secretly sulking about his moment being ruined like that. As for the unplesantness of it, I'd mostly expect it to hinge on the state of their relationship... one doesn't necessarily need to mind that they owe their life to their partner in crime.. but it gets worse the less trust there is. Hard to actually tell how's the state of affairs with these two Maybe he's done it so many times he doesn't need a mirror. Or it's just the way it looks all the time, no special effort needed Well, I guess that's caused either by powers beyond Reyes' control, aka the devs, or difficult access to decent clothes (at least for the time being) not really his fashion sense Vaults attract a lot of attention, are full of robots, are unpleasant to navigate and might have who knows what kind of traps, and tend to have only one entrance via a gravity well. Plus if someone just camps over the entrance, you're ultimately fucked. Hmm, actually there might be one even worse problem, which is that no SAM amounts to no getting inside or doing anything with all those nice useful consoles, so any aquatting would have to reserved to the entrance halls... and pretty much ineffective. I think the AI might simply be too short of people to send them into vaults they can get almost nothing of, but the technical problems are there for everyone. If you think about it, they're the reset to repair climate material and little more, unless you really like hiding under weird alien consoles ( that said, there's upposed to be lots of stuff we don't know about Reyes ) Huh, so Reyes would deliberately paint it so that he’s not the Charlatan? Good point, but you need to consider Reyes is fucked anyway. There's an insanely pissed off pirate warlord having him hunted all over he cluster, it's not like he could run his smuggler operation like nothing happened, Charlatan or no Charlatan (actually, I can imagine Sloane wanting him dead much more for trying to fuck with her). He'll have to go into hiding, eventually reinvent himself (or walk around in a helmet like you once suggested), plus the expendable joke viewpoint would mostly depend on what kind of rumors would get among the people afterwards. It could easily be seen like he's allied with the (still ominous) Charlatan and the whole joke is on Sloane. Yep, but fighting for scraps seems like the way to go around the cluster, so there's always a chance some asshole will try. Though maybe it wouls still be easer to wait and striken onlyonce the goundwork is done. There's something funny about the idea of someone accusing Reyes he's not really the Charlatan (It wouldn't actually make it any easier for him if he'd pretended not to be the Charlatan before ) They wouldn't have to underestimate him at all, though. If they knew his identity, they'd probably be well aware of what he's capable of and would prepare accordingly if they had any brains to beging with. Agreed, but it would still be no wonder, given how he hints at it in those e-mails of his. A lame way to level a choice, but then this character has always done what he pleased... I'd hope that any future interaction with Reyes would be as free of Kadara as possible if he isn't actually in charge. If he has a network of spies, assassins and whatever, the focus might as well be shifted elsewhere. Who knows, things might get better if a sequel were to be made (which it most likely won't), so someone would actually remember things like nuanced dialgues. They're not forgotten completely, are they? I think this particular experience would be a lesson to both, really. Unless Reyes had done similar shit in the MW, he'd new to it himself. Thinking of that, SAM should've had a line when the romance was broken due to High noon events... surely that's just as intense an experience as committing and shit... Hehe, you know Reyes just wants to have the most swell cave for a hideout he shows off to potential allies (alternatively, maybe he just hopes that the cave is notable enough for Ryder to find?) It's not really like tourism flourished on Kadara so no one will just poke around a cave, no matter how impressive it is. I think someonementions there are loads of caves on Kadara.. but I could be mistaken. They did have those prisoners stashed away just out of sight, though, so there may have been no less propaganda than the rescruitment salarian. Just a thought, anyway. The real mystery is the button. Might as well been the ultimate test of Ryder's character Of course those merits include such effortless things as being handsome, having a sexy voice, and natural charm~ But these mostly wouldn't classify as cheating. I've always supposed Reyes' luck stat is pretty high. Vetra posing with Collective guys. They should do a callendar or something. Hmm, an outfit thief? Reyes' evil cousin? A first glimpse of far reaching conspiracy? I'm back from the Elaaden desert (no I didn't spend all those days there, that would have been extreme ). If it isn't Zitrus, straight from wherever I was getting worried the Elaaden heat got you. So the answer is... it's chaos out there? Should've expected that, really. If the Collective can expand to Elaaden, well, why not the outcasts? Still it's strange they are all so hellbent on establishing their presence precisely on that one spot. But those were those random raiders, right? Still no proof of Collective or Outcast angara? Either way, let me just poit out it's weird. Why would any angara join those guys? (Yeah, I suspect I know the answer. Same as always. Chaos ) I knew this question would come up . Some dogs need their fur cut so they can combine it into a pet shop with barber for animals and people. Comes to think of it Mr. Sniper Guy's hair texture is slightly similar to that of a poodle... so why not, I guess? But Reyes wil need more stuff in that case. He can't be that multitalented. Yes, I remember him. I guess the vest really is the latest fashion and maybe he's preparing a party. For Reyes of course, it's his birthday. I'm not sure Reyes would appreciate anyone running around in the same vest as him, though Oblivion? Why not refer to an actually good game instead of a trash heap? Now in a good game, the quest design would account for different paths without messing it up. Like in HR if you decide to disable that antenna before Pritchard ever asks you to, you can – yet unfortunately, the sequence is lacking, since you have to go back anyway to get in the helicopter. An even better game would redirect Malik to Sarif’s building (I assume cut scene costs are to blame here). But take New Vegas. In the MEA water quest, nothing even changes with the door, you don’t get a key to open it, there’s no in-universe reason why now you can enter when previously you couldn’t. (Also, weird shit can be entertaining. All gamebryo games have an existential clause of them being meant to be broken, anyway.) Because the sudden realization I shouldn't have gone into that weirdly huge ruin was too much. Weird shit is the best and ther should be more of it everywhere ( I might have already said it somewhere, but it's one of my favorite opinions) but this wasn't weird shit awkward, it was more like "shit, the timeline's messed or the emperor's an idiot, and to top it all a show is made of the fact the protagonist has been carrying a fucking boulder of unknown use around in his pocket for several months" awkward. (Btw I was young playing that game, it was one of the first RPGs I got around to, so don't get judgemental ). Stuff like the antenna is fine, it makes sense that Jensen just wandered around and turned off a suspicious looking device but there are moments when some things should not happen before other things, but yeah, I suppose stumbling over the water supply wouldn't really interrupt anything. What about NV are you hinting at? In the funic… ah christ, I can’t. Yay, a new playthrough. If you go to the operating room at the back of the LIMB clinic, there’s mail on this. Jensen’s injuries required only that his lungs(?) and one arm be replaced. However, his job contract granted Sarif right to do whatever he pleased with Jensen’s body; the doctor’s pissed about this and says that from now on she refuses to do anything unless Jensen himself wants it. So – not exactly an ethical workplace. Still, even as the security chief Jensen probs shouldn’t go around stealing candy, let alone credits, from people – there has got to be a limit, you know. Come on, it can't be that hard to write Yep, time to hack all the storage compartments in style, steal some candy bars and throw some cardboard boxes at people... and find enough beers for the thrashcan lady. Agreed with Zitrus, they wanted to rad it first Well, if it has Pritchard they could've put at least parts of it to MD. Does the book also feature some kindergarten rivalry? Lmao. You make it sound s evil, as if there were some candy stealing devil lurking around Sarif industries. But really, if the situation is like that, everyone probably overlooks minor losses in candy department when they're always at risk of getting their brain transplanted when they fall asleep in their office for five minutes. (Btw, since there's got to be a limit, chopping of limbs is fine while stealing candy is not? Talk about arbitrary ) I must've missed that mail. Hash. But didn't Jensen sign the contract himself? That would make it a demanding workplace rather than unethical, I'd say. Are you saying that no ship is logical to begin with? Can’t say I disagree, really… I can’t help my unfortunate brain, however. Really? I think Pritchard might be even pointier than Jensen. They both have very angular faces, at any rate. Also, Jensen’s shoulders are so broad that his head looks too small for his body. He looks wayyyy better in MD however. Pritchard does have the advantage of huge blue eyes, I must admit. (And the extremely comfy and warm looking ugly white sweater. I want it.)My theory is it’s ultimately just that they enjoy their bickering, because they’re both difficult personalities. The catalyst being Pritchard’s petty grievances starting from Sarif hiring his fav scientist’s boyfriend over Belltower, and Jensen snarking back at him. If you don't disagree, where is the help even needed? Nope, you couldn't go spiking people stuff on Pritchard, but I'm not so sure about Jensen Maybe the guys who implanted the augs screwed up or something... but it went away after a little improvement in graphics. But when it comes to clothes, well, I must admit that cool coat of Jensen's winds hands down (have you ever notice it's actually so cool that random npc wear that texture on their clothes too, surely in tribute?) Yeah, sure, but it has to start somewhere. You don't just start bickering with someone because you so have no problems with them. Which you've pretty much covered as well. Indeed, Pritchard has those wall monitors behind his desk where he can stalk Jensen when he comes to work. Can’t let a golden opportunity like that go to waste. Heee, yep. Jensen stalks Pritchard through the vents, Pritchard has his monitors tp tell whenever he's trying to gain access to female bathroom or do something similarly illicit. A good base for a lovely workplace relationship Yeah, apparently MD requires a beefy computer, I’ve seen some complaints from people with old machines. I hope you get to play soon, nevertheless! The graphics are worth it. Pritchard bitches at his hacker acquaintance in the MD dlc, so I think he’s good on that front. Also you’ll just know he gets into horrible internet fights. Yep, it loked good. The specs can't be worse than MEA, right? I've still got HR to play, through. At the rate I get to anything these days it might take a while He just needs someone to bitchat it seems. You'd say he'd be playing nice with his hacker friends Do they actually say that somewhere or is it a guess? I think all the emails are meant to be recent. They should’ve included dates. Considering Pritchard’s script, it’s a funny detail that when you at point see Jensen’s file on a computer screen in a certain cutscene, it reads like a character profile for a story pitch. Haha, that’s a bad one. They should’ve acknowledged that in MD somehow. But of course, Picus was chosen because it’s the name of a Roman minor god of manure (according to the devs anyway, I’ve never heard of this god). So maybe it’s fitting. Too bad there's never a glimpse at Pritchard's script, though. They tease it's existence and never reveal it's content. Boo. Seems there are gods for just anything It's a missed opportunity nobody ever notices, would be fine to hear it from some annoyed civilians or the like. But then, someone would have to actually know the language to put it there. Surprise, the google translalor just can't come up with shit like that on its own. I actually possessed them, then knocked them out and then stuff them inside a dumpster So, you're sayingyou never really kill anyone in these games? The restraint... Hehe, I loved those. Guards and their ever similar problems. Wonder if they ever feel... generic. But I can actually imagine Shepard, James and Jacob inviting each other for whiskey and cigars. And James was all about that promotion... Lol yes. A lot of people in HR have too small heads. Those random people on the streets as well. Disproportional heads- the plague of the future

Man, I wonder if there’s any hope of BioWare publishing some of the player data on N7 day? I still want to know the romance and High Noon choice percentages. I'm back from the Elaaden desert (no I didn't spend all those days there, that would have been extreme ). Zitrus ! I thought you for sure had left us and moved on to new games. Well okay, that seems so obvious in retrospect. One thing that happened with me was the big worm surfacing right in front of the cave, so I’m thinking whichever party spawned for me, died to the worm (if such a thing can happen) and I never got a respawn. I’ve never seen Outcasts outside Kadara either, but on the other hand I’ve never stopped to look closely at hostile raiders. From a narrative pov, it makes sense for the Collective to expand, but not so much for the Outcasts. Afaik, Sloane was content to reign on Kadara and to make sure her people stayed independent, but wasn’t interested in expansion (which may count in her favor, as far as the AI is concerned). Very helpful of them. Now, why do the Collective guys alway have this missing-one-arm glitch? Yeah, their "scavenging" animation is, uh, great. Yes, I remember him. I guess the vest really is the latest fashion and maybe he's preparing a party. For Reyes of course, it's his birthday. Hmm, an outfit thief? Reyes' evil cousin? A first glimpse of far reaching conspiracy? I remember Garrus getting that arm twist glitch repeatedly in ME1 and ME2, and also Shep at some point. Funny that it should still occur after they’ve switched game engines. So who knows? Reyes’ birthday party! Turns out the solution is to hold the surprise party on a wholly other planet. Wonder if those shuttles are space worthy enough to make the trip from Kadara to Elaaden... Probably they are, but I'd feel uncomfortable. You should know about conspiracies, BloodOfShiagur . My interpretation is a poker night with all the Milky Way booze as the prize, and Reyes’ luck for once leaving him and him ending up betting his stupid vest and losing it to the guy. Or else Reyes is just the n:o Andromeda trend setter. Vetra posing with Collective guys. They should do a callendar or something. Yes, but what sort of calendar? "October 2819 – Greetings from the Relaxed and Fun Elaaden": But those were those random raiders, right? Still no proof of Collective or Outcast angara? Either way, let me just poit out it's weird. Why would any angara join those guys? (Yeah, I suspect I know the answer. Same as always. Chaos ) Let’s keep in mind that Sloane forbids Angara from joining her gang. We've already seen Collective Angara, and they do have a good reason in their hatred towards Sloane whom they no doubt see as a discriminatory tyrant (which she is). I can see random Angara joining unaffiliated raiders, too, if there were no other options left for them. Heleus was hardly a pleasant place to live for any of them. I think even the game would forget it just as it seems to forget Mr. Or it's just the way it looks all the time, no special effort needed Yeah. Reyes doesn’t seem the type to bear grudges, although who knows how vengeful he’d be after losing to Sloane. With such small stuff like being indebted to Ryder, I’m sure he wouldn’t seriously mind, unless Ryder was an unbearable ass about it. I think he’d just be “well FUCK” about it for a while, and then move on. Reyes seems to have a healthy mindset about these things, not a brooding personality type at all. One of his likeable traits, for sure. If anything, I’d think he might look hard for a change to repay the “debt” by helping Ryder out in turn. I think Reyes in any case will keep an eye out and alert Ryder if anything troubling rears its head (aka black hole Cthulhu observed via that one satellite, aka the obvious sequel bait). Well, since you and Zitrus have been brainstorming a barbershop as one of Reyes’ many fronts, he can just have someone do his hair for him, should mirrors prove to be a scarcity. Good point, but you need to consider Reyes is fucked anyway [--] It could easily be seen like he's allied with the (still ominous) Charlatan and the whole joke is on Sloane. [--] There's something funny about the idea of someone accusing Reyes he's not really the Charlatan (It wouldn't actually make it any easier for him if he'd pretended not to be the Charlatan before ) They wouldn't have to underestimate him at all, though. If they knew his identity, they'd probably be well aware of what he's capable of and would prepare accordingly if they had any brains to beging with. I guess that might work, but IMO the immediate impression it gives is Reyes being thrown under the buss as an expendable who could’ve easily let be killed by Sloane. it would be a huge blow to Reyes’ prestige, and while he doesn’t want spotlight, he’s still vain and knows his self-worth. I believe he’d try to salvage what he could by owning the Charlatan epithet or by just trying to destroy it totally (by just being openly himself as the head of the Collective, no more anonymous orders etc.). Trying to put things back to what they were would be significantly harder. But who knows, maybe you're right. If they honestly didn’t believe Reyes were capable of being the Charlatan, that would be an underestimation in and of itself. IF they did believe him, but merely publicly claimed otherwise for personal gain, that might be different, that's true enough. That’s a good idea. It wouldn’t make much sense for him to squat on Kadara with Sloane in charge anyway. He might try Elaaden, as shitty as that planet is. I wonder if he mightn’t try one of the Angaran planets. After all, do they really have much reason to hate him, Collective or no Collective? Reyes is known for them foremost as someone who helped the Resistance. Reyes may still have loyal Angaran Collective agents that might testify for him, and paint him in a better light as opposed to Sloane and her discriminatory policies. The Collective itself might not survive, but Reyes + a few chosen people of his might find refuge, considering that the Angara have no reason to hate them or the Collective (assuming that the major victims of their piracy must have been the Outcasts and the Initiative). Since the Initiative is allied with the Outcasts, there might be some pressure, but I don’t think enough to generate any incidents. In secret, Reyes might keep on preparing his return. In public, he could either semi-retire or help the resistance, while potentially keeping in contact with Keema and her Angarans. Think that makes sense? What does SAM ask if Ryder hasn’t got confirmed LI at that point? Does he just skip the question? Maybe if there were more flags, SAM could have slightly more significant questions. With Reyes, the first flag could be if you kiss him on the roof top. Then the next flag in High Noon. Ryder never gets to know SAM any better than his other squadmates, which dumb, because he’s in their head. This sort of thing would help a ton, especially with SAM’s quest to learn from Ryder. Ah, so another sign of him not being able to resist showing off? However, it wouldn't be tourists, but the Outcasts that would most likely tumble upon the cave. If they were more competent about stomping out competition (like the dozens of small unaffiliated raider gangs), they’d keep an eye on big, promising caves like that, even if they personally didn’t need them. Reason enough for Reyes to move quickly to overwhelm Sloane before she can make better plans to keep her grip on Kadara. Of course those merits include such effortless things as being handsome, having a sexy voice, and natural charm~ But these mostly wouldn't classify as cheating. I've always supposed Reyes' luck stat is pretty high. heehee, that it must be. No wonder Reyes is so smug.

Before I begin, let me just apologize for a growing number of typos plaguing my posts lately. I'll do my best to behave. Is that even possible? I'm not sure I ever saw the worm do anything besides hopping merrily around in the dunes. If it can't hurt Ryder and co., why would it be made to damage random raiders, save for some cool effects.. which are never seen? Still, it's weird that the Kadara factions just happen to spawn at his place and nowhere else. I suppose both of you tried it post High noon, so it's confirmed the spawns are independent of the events? I remember Garrus getting that arm twist glitch repeatedly in ME1 and ME2, and also Shep at some point. Funny that it should still occur after they’ve switched game engines. So who knows? Hmm, maybe the feared twisted arm syndrome is actually a thing is ME universe, so they're just being true to the lore? Reyes’ birthday party! Turns out the solution is to hold the surprise party on a wholly other planet. Wonder if those shuttles are space worthy enough to make the trip from Kadara to Elaaden... Probably they are, but I'd feel uncomfortable. Yeah, it's a fine idea, and the shuttles are probably used for travel between planets, has anyone ever seen any MW ships save for the Tempest? But is the shithole desert planet really the best place for a birthday party? Krogan, raiders, boring sky, no night sky to watch, the worm and all that... the asteroid that should've been the turian home sounds more fun. I don't think even throwing said party in that nice house surrounded by those red trees would save it. Unless Reyes actually likes the heat, that is. Me? Whatever are you hinting at, my friend? I know of no dark conspiracies, let alone take part in them or financially support them from my shadily acquired funds. Heehee, that's a good one. But what is it he's wearing now, then? A spare copy he bought in case he lost the original vest due to unforeseen circumstances? Aaand, if that guy won all the booze in Milky way, why is he in Andromeda in the first place? The mysterious Charlatan setting the trends for the cluster, now that would be an irony. Yes, but what sort of calendar? "October 2819 – Greetings from the Relaxed and Fun Elaaden": Ryder looks very relaxed in there just soaking up the sunshine, so why not? I was thinking more of something like 2820 calendar- The Collective and AI shots edition. To celebrate joining forces and raise some funds, you know. Let’s keep in mind that Sloane forbids Angara from joining her gang. Ah, yeah, that. The angara among the Collective fighting forces must have slipped my mind. I'm not sure about the random angara, though. Probably depends what kind of angara lived there before the exiles. It's not like the exile raiders had the upper hand on Elaaden like they do on Kadara, there's way more room for fighting about the little the planet can offer. Yeah. I don't really know either. I'd say he might get pretty vengeful, not really out of anger or anything, just as a way of settling debts, but a part of me can't help but think he'd be too practical for that kind of thing. Maybe if he got an opportunity to get back at Ryder he wouldn't let is pass, but he doesn't really strike me as the type to actively seek for a way to do so. I kinda think he'd try to repay the debt sooner than the cthulhu start meddling, but it's true that he might keep an eye for something similarly significant before he'd really consider it paid. Hehe, I wonder if the Cthulhu would be satisfied with all that new officially unsanctioned creation coming into their cluster (well, if Reyes were the first human for them to see....) Yeah, sure, but then he wouldn't be able to check the result, which might lead to him being nervous anyway. Plus it will require quite some talent to actually find a decent barber among the colonists I guess that might work, but IMO the immediate impression it gives is Reyes being thrown under the buss as an expendable who could’ve easily let be killed by Sloane. it would be a huge blow to Reyes’ prestige, and while he doesn’t want spotlight, he’s still vain and knows his self-worth. Or maybe I'm not, because vanity is a good thing to mention at this point. There's quite a chance Reyes would not be running or distancing himself from the events, because it might look like he's trying to simply weasel out of the mess. He might come out of that looking spineless and even more untrustworthy than usual, which very likely wouldn't serve his interests at all. Seems more like the time for him to show he can get shit done to keep his little operation together, which would seamlessly lead to the gang route as the way to go. Rogue leaders only go as far, I guess. Although, for the rumor part, I still hold it that it would depend on what's the common knowledge about the incident. People would probably have noticed the fuss at Outcast HQ, and know about the attack on Kaetus, so they could easily put together who was in charge of the events and that their plans were thwarted only by someone's quite unexpected appearance. (Guess that Ryder's acting in Sloane's favor is well known, makes it easier to explain the sudden aliance thing). That wouldn't make seeing Reyes as a scapegoat that obvious. True. Comes to think of it,if the whole reasoning were that someone simply doesn't want that particular smuggler asshole in charge, that's a pretty gross underestimation of his abilities to begin with . Should that situation really arise, I'd expect either of these could happen, though. Or he might just move to one of the uninhabited planets. He'd need to stay hidden anyway and Elaaden might prove dangerous in that regard. That's an interesting one. If nothing else, I guess Reyes could use the fact he's their agent to get out of Sloane's reach, but I don't know how that would end for the Collecive. After all, it was still Reyes himself who helped them and not any organization of his (unless he had his agents do the jobs, really) Would the angara really consider something like that relevant to them in any way, or just feel relieved that a growing faction of the new aliens has been stumped for a while? I suppose he doesn't ask. As far as I remember it's a commitment dialogue only, so it makes sense if it never comes up with a single Ryder. (Hehe, but how great would it be if the dialogue just appeared at some point and there would be a "I don't actually care about this bullshit, SAM, go ask the asari or something" option). Or maybe the rooftop scene could be generally seen as the commitment point, and either breaking up or going pro-Sloane would be treated as breaking up... which could have a dialogue of it's own. Hmm, actually, where's the chance to ditch the LIs save for breaking their poor hearts at the commitment scene? I swear I saw a few of those in BW games... Agreed, more SAM dialogues would've been better. An additional companion treatment would've been nicer than portable thermometer treatment anyway. Can he, though? He always seems to find a way. No matter how off the record he does it, he still does it. Yep, but there's a high chance they didn' t do that. I wonder if there actually was someone Sloane saw as competition enough to keep watch on them. Plus there actually couldn't have been enough people to found all those unaffiliated little gangs unless the AI had many, many stowaways... heehee, that it must be. No wonder Reyes is so smug. Think he knows? If that dumb comic is canon, he did have a girlfriend to cuddle with. Did you see the kitten fanart I linked? Cat’s the perfect pet for Jensen, even if he doesn’t know it. Climbs on things, is sneaky, has hidden claws...Errr... what? Do I even want to know? That must be a dumb comic indeed. .... needs to be rescued from a tree by random do-gooders, meows, chases mice, scratches furniture... Don't mind me, I just couldn't help myself. You’re most likely right, but by now I think game devs should be aware that people generally don’t read these tie-in stories. How many people read the books with Kai Leng and came to care about him? Not enough for him to work in ME3, that’s for sure. Think that's actually because people didn't know the novel or because Kai Leng is a dumb prick that can't possibly work in any game? Btw this whole Black Light thing is starting to scare me. So it actually explains how Jensen got where he is between the games? That's pretty major shit they've got there. I don't like it. Tie-in novels are a good way to present some additional lore one may or may not know, nothing more. [--] but It’s a post-Morrowind Bethesda game, of course the emperor and everybody else as well are idiots. But how could I even be judgmental, posting here, on the BioWare romance board? NV in general is a good example of reactivity and divergent paths and being able to go wherever and discover things “out of order”. Now since it’s a big game with big map, you probably can instantly come up with some example where things didn’t work, but those are exceptions dammit. Like you can kill anybody (except Yes Man) and still complete the game. Hehe, being judgmental can only apply to certain things (like post Morrowind Bethesda games, but seriously, what about Shivering isles?), doesn't it? You can't go strolling into Caesar's camp before you reach a certain point. That's quite huge for an exception. But yeah, I agree. I was just wondering whether you thought of something specific. Haha, I guess so. It’s such an easy read though that it absolutely won’t take three weeks to read. Jensen and Pritchard are still at odds in Black Light. I wish the author hadn’t neglected things such as Jensen promising to tell Pritchard everything about what he found out, maybe Pritchard updating Jensen on [an NPC’s] current situation, or the fact that they started to almost tolerate each other by the end of HR (aka same complaints I had for the MD dlc). At the very least Jensen could thank him for saving him from certain death/detainment. Well, some people are slow readers. Besides, there could've been many of them in line for the book. Hmm, maybe the author just conveniently forgot that, returning them back to their childish rivalry instead of having someone finally tell them to make out already. Hopefully those exchanges are at least worth it. It’s one of the big themes that easily slips by unnoticed if you’re not paying attention; Besides, I’m not sure he’d bother to read the fine print. Well, Jensen can’t do a damn thing about Sarif’s draconian work contracts, but he can decide for himself whether to steal the hard-earned credits from some miserable office drone or not. Please at least tell me you won’t steal Pritchard’s credits? Yeah, I noticed that. But there's still a difference between this kind of involuntary and getting auged the shit of when you get beaten to a pulp, so the fine print is the more likely culprit in Jensen's case. Technically he can decline Sarif's work contracts and join the hobos. But these credits just lie there looking inviting.... it's up to the office drones to take care of their funds if they don't want them to disappear. But ok, even I acknowledge it just gets awkward at some moments. I didn't even rob the police station armory. Couldn't do that to that poor frustrated blonde guy who let me in. I fear I've doomed the poor blonde guy anyway. As for Pritchard, well, I intend to steal his money and eat it... ok, I guess not. If all ships are bad and dumb, the Jensen/Pritchard ship is also bad and dumb, and alas I can’t help my brain entertaining it. Bad and dumb is what you said. I said illogical, because I think it's hard to look for logic in putting characters together. Well, there may be some, but I suppose more often than not the only explanation may just be "I like the thought". Would that be the Jensen/Pritchard case? A complex question. Well, Jensen’s still pointy in MD. In fact, his hair looks sharp enough that you could probably sharpen knives with it. Well, this is what Pritchard looks like for comparison. Someone should tell him his use of styling mousse is getting excessive. But... the hell happened to poor Pritchard? Looks like he's been through a real rough time. Well, either that or he's turning into a troll. I don’t think Pritchard plays nice with anyone lol. It’s not said anywhere, but come on, it’s basically a given. Insufferable personality, works with computers, loves video games, inflexible in attitude. Oh btw Black Light adds another hobby to Pritchard; Jensen finds him programming a game ~*a strategy simulator*~ at night. You’re not eager to see what happens next? That’s probably good for you, you’ll be less anxious than me about there being no further content. Since it may be some time before we get your MD comments, can you in the meanwhile tell me what’s the name of this cereal in English? Well, if you put it like that, there's a chance. Provided he has time for such a thing with all those hobbies of his, that is. Hopefully if there's a next tie-in novel with a different author they'll not feel the need to expand on the character further, otherwise this gets out of hand fast. But programming games seems fitting for Pritchard. I'm curious, I must admit, but I also think it would be interesting to get the end of HR for starters. The real good for me is that I still have lots of content to go. Maan, that shit almost made me choke on my tea. Anyway, it's the Czech version of the "Magic gnome" cereal (I've found a box of it in Jensen's flat in HR too. Hmm, does Jensen really have a soft spot for childish looking cereal)? Surprisingly, there are no errors. It sounds like a totally shitty name for cereals, but it's correct. I expected worse. Isn't that the truth. They should've based the entirety of the Breach on Pritchard's story. All we know is that Jensen thinks it’s bad. Haha, that would've been good. DX could use some just a bit lighter stuff anyway. That Jensen thinks it's bad means nothing, though. We all know he might just say that to keep his face, after all, it lies among his prized possessions.

If it isn't Zitrus, straight from wherever I was getting worried the Elaaden heat got you. I can take the heat. Zitrus ! I thought you for sure had left us and moved on to new games. No such luck . I do play other games, which are the reason for my delay, it's true. They have at least one mining spot outside Kadara though. On Mae Shesa in the Vaar system which is not far away from Govorkam. And this mining camp for graphite was attacked by other exiles. Mae Shesa: An Outcast mineral mining camp has been recently demolished here. A fragmentary distress call describes the attackers as other exiles. There are no survivors. There's a shuttle in the system: Ship ident: Unknown Ship name: Local Boy Crew Complement: 14 Status: N/A ANALYSIS: This shuttle appears to have limped away from a battle. Logs indicate the crew, now deceased, came to Vaar to raid an Outcast mining camp. The attempt must have ended badly. And also a wreck with a dead Outcast who fled from the fight at Mae Shesa. And lastly there is a message on Eos. It's from Colt. The only Colt I know of is Colt Dalton, the dockmaster at Kadara Port. Hey, kiddo. Hope everything's going okay down there. Rumors are spreading about the unfriendly locals, but I know it's nothing you can't handle. Just wanted you to know the thing we talked about last week is happening. Sloane gave the sign tonight. We're doing it tomorrow. If it all goes as planned, I'm bringing you back here to celebrate. If not, well it's been fun. No regrets, right? Stay safe out there. Talk to you soon. -- ColtWell, what thing did Sloane greenlight? I remember Garrus getting that arm twist glitch repeatedly in ME1 and ME2, and also Shep at some point. Funny that it should still occur after they’ve switched game engines. So who knows? Huh, I don't even remember that. So it's a problem with an old animation nobody bothered to fix. I tried it after High Noon, yes. Maybe they didn't spawn, happens sometimes. Or they were eaten by the wildlife. The temps are okay once the vault is fixed. Get a pool to that house, it'll be great. Or he could just prepare everything on Elaaden and then ship it to Kadara to celebrate there. Maybe he's just on a shopping trip. Let’s keep in mind that Sloane forbids Angara from joining her gang. All those exiles are so nicely colour-coded for our convenience. Those raiders should wear mismatched parts and random colours. The angara don't have it easy with the kett and only one hidden planet so maybe some thought it would not be such a bad idea to join up. Although from what little we hear, about cannibalism and what was it, leader worship, I'd stay clear . I actually possessed them, then knocked them out and then stuff them inside a dumpster So, you're sayingyou never really kill anyone in these games? The restraint... Hah, that's creative, I never thought of that. No, I don't kill pixel people or animals in those games that allow a no-kill route. I got the killing in shooters and most RPGs. I find it satisfying to fool or knock them out. Although the fates some of the marks have if you don't kill them are quite horrible. Guess they would have preferred a quick death. Clean hands don't always equal a clean conscience in Dishonored. My basis for this is only the dev commentary for HR, so I may be wrong, but I think you’ve misunderstood how they intended the aug acquisition to work. We’re not talking about Jensen getting mechanical legs at will –merely him getting the super-jump augment installed in the pre-existing mech legs. I got this idea because of what is said here, that "Originally you didn't have all the augs in your body and you had to go, basically getting there to have your legs cut and then be replaced by augmented legs." And then it goes on that upgrading the augs would have required an operation as well. I haven't listened to all parts so maybe it's talked about again in another one but here it sounds like he had his natural legs (and maybe an arm, eyes likely not) and then it would have been the player's choice to get them replaced by augs. If that dumb comic is canon, he did have a girlfriend to cuddle with. Did you see the kitten fanart I linked? Cat’s the perfect pet for Jensen, even if he doesn’t know it. Climbs on things, is sneaky, has hidden claws... Yes, I forgot about that part. They haven't mentioned it so far in the games and if they never do I can pretedend it never happened. I saw the pic with the cat, it's very cute. He can take it on missions, too. Mine likes to watch me play sometimes . Well, that’s on my do-to list, then. I’m also curious to see what sets the riot off if Jensen doesn’t play the delivery boy. Coincidentally, are you playing these games with a German dub? Yes, I haven't checked this route, yet. I only read that there are more guards who make it harder to sneak if you don't help. The first game had only German subs, the second one I played dubbed. The new ones I play completely in English because I was used to the voices from videos and especially that leaked demo version (that was fun and clearly helped market it). HR also had horrible lip-synch when I briefly switched to German. Actually, it was good I kept it English because that allowed me to recognize Bob Page instantly in the intro. The second book was also never translated, so I keep the franchise in the English corner. I read that the director’s cut supposedly has worse graphics than the original cut did. It does look very low-res IMO, even for an old game like that. Curious. Well, not that that would have an effect on head sizes. For whatever reason they got rid of the gold filter which was in the original release. The small heads were always there though. I got both versions now so I can compare them one of these days. What is also silly is that they took an old build so already patched bugs were reintroduced. Errr... what? Do I even want to know? That must be a dumb comic indeed. Yes, it's stupid. The woman is Sarif's niece and it takes place during HR. So when you're not playing he's having an adventure on his own. The worst part is in the end he is about to sacrifice himself for her. Btw this whole Black Light thing is starting to scare me. So it actually explains how Jensen got where he is between the games? That's pretty major shit they've got there. I don't like it. Tie-in novels are a good way to present some additional lore one may or may not know, nothing more. It's not so bad. The game also tells you about some things that happened in between. Well, some people are slow readers. Besides, there could've been many of them in line for the book. Hmm, maybe the author just conveniently forgot that, returning them back to their childish rivalry instead of having someone finally tell them to make out already. Hopefully those exchanges are at least worth it. Lol yes, everyone working there was itching to read it. I like it that they're kinda like cat and dog. I don't remember if I've ever read his description on the official site. Mr Monitor Tan lol. Hmm, does Jensen really have a soft spot for childish looking cereal)? In the wiki there's this idea that he eats it because he needs more energy due to the augs running on bioenergy, so sugar is the way to go. I can't blame him though, I still eat this stuff as well.

Uh-oh. Following Zitrus 's helpful advice from earlier, I switched the game’s language to French and made a great new femRyder. And since the French Vetra sounds absolutely adorable I decided to romance her this time. However. At first I thought that since Reyes isn’t voiced by Boulton, I’d be good… But no, it’s not that easy, because the French Reyes is, in fact, also good and cool (check the French Reyes romance vid I posted in the Post Your Ryders thread). What do I do?? Ah shit, I’m going to cave in and have Ryder break Vetra’s poor heart, aren’t I? For the record, from the new Tapestry feature: Edit: Lol ok, the website for some reason had issues showing the images, maybe because of my monitor being too wide? Idk. Here goes: That's... not as flattering a picture of Reyes as he'd deserve. Funny thing that the official artists tend to give him stronger jaw than what he has in the game. I honestly prefer him the way he's in the game. Still, it's a fun pic. The duel picture is great, me like. Someone post the other options, if Reyes is featured in them too, please. Edit 2: I figured out how to turn the hidden shit on; here's the pic for not taking sides on Kadara: Is that even possible? I'm not sure I ever saw the worm do anything besides hopping merrily around in the dunes. If it can't hurt Ryder and co., why would it be made to damage random raiders, save for some cool effects.. which are never seen? Still, it's weird that the Kadara factions just happen to spawn at his place and nowhere else. I suppose both of you tried it post High noon, so it's confirmed the spawns are independent of the events? Oh okay, I thought it would act like a huge thresher maw. I even have a faint recollection of someone cursing how they died to it in the Nomad, but I guess that’s not it then. I simply didn’t get a raider spawn to begin with that time. Yeah, post-High Noon, though I never saw Outcasts that I know of. Lmao that’s true and I had not realized it. The Tempest is the only actual Milky Way ship. And even the Angara tend to just use shuttles too, right? That leaves the Kett. Oh and Ryder’s magically activated Remnant fighters or whatever those things were. I bet the Turian parties harder, too. But maybe Reyes is always super cold, explaining his layer wearing, and thus he actually loves Elaaden and dreams of getting to retire there one day? A deal breaker for Ryder, finally. You should know about conspiracies, BloodOfShiagur My interpretation is a poker night with all the Milky Way booze as the prize, and Reyes’ luck for once leaving him and him ending up betting his stupid vest and losing it to the guy. Or else Reyes is just the n:o Andromeda trend setter. Yes yes, and have no mysterious, clandestine plans involving volcanoes and feeding innocent, faultless people into them either, mhmm? In fact I should just completely relax my guard, shouldn't I? Lol, the selection of booze at the Elaaden house includes various Milky Way varieties, that’s what I meant. I figure Reyes would feel homesick, if not for nothing else then at least quality drinks. I suspect the vest was indeed lost, but by the time Ryder next visited Kadara, it had already been recovered by the famed Collective Krogan infiltrator, the act seen by none. Well, maybe if Reyes can’t get his hands on some good-looking clothing, he can do the next best thing and make his stupid vest the hottest fashion item in Heleus. Ryder looks very relaxed in there just soaking up the sunhine, so why not? I was thinking more of something like 2820 callendar- The Collective and AI shots edition. To celebrate joining forces and raise some funds, you know. Ryder has turned his back in despair to spare him the sight of whatever it is that Vetra and that Collective girl are doing. I'm not sure this operation is going to collect them any funds, unless they turn the concept into a shirtless Reyes 12 months calendar (Ryder buys dozen). I kinda think he'd try to repay the debt sooner than the cthulhu start meddling, but it's true that he might keep an eye for something similarly significant before he'd really consider it paid. Hehe, I wonder if the Cthulhu would be satisfied with all that new officially unsanctioned creation coming into their cluster (well, if Reyes were the first human for them to see....) Hehe, I’m not sure Reyes charm would bite on the cthulhus. But I do think that the Collective’s satellite recording the Hole was a definite sequel hook. Reyes would be the perfect information provider in that kind of case. It would even work for pro-Sloane Ryder, if the threat was big enough, that Reyes would relay the information despite personal enmity. Yes, that’s my opinion too. He’d have to adapt to the new situation. A great chance for character growth. I pictured the rumor going as the real Charlatan propping Reyes as a puppet. This would also work with how Reyes never literally says “I am the Charlatan”, he just says “surprised?” to Ryder’s exclamation. I mean, it’s obvious to us, but once rumor mill got going and the facts got obfuscated, who’d know what was what. It wouldn’t be entirely unlike how Reyes has Keema on the throne and probably doesn’t do much to discourage the random rumors of her being the Charlatan. People starting the rumor would suspect that Reyes was meant as such a figurehead, and having him meet Sloane served additionally as protection for the real Charlatan should things go south. Oh, the Collective would be gone, scattered to the winds. It would just be a refuge for Reyes and maybe a couple of his closest men. The Angara's relief at having a potential threat wiped out is real enough prospect. Yet even so, keeping Reyes close would offer a chance to keep an eye on him, and they would know how useful he could be if kept around. I don’t think it would be impossible. Angara can be very practical, if they could get over any potential fear of letting him stay near. I think one of the replies to SAM is noncommittal… The casual one, I think? Ah, and you can refuse to answer the question altogether, which is good. Yes, since you meet Reyes so late in the game, it would make sense that the commitment scene came earlier. Especially if there was a chance to break up during High Noon. It would help with making the romances more natural things that occur between people instead of the still somewhat common “speak three times, be rewarded with a sex scene” mold. On the other hand, though, there’s the thing about Reyes not committing before he can safely reveal his identity, and changing that would be bad. So, I think I’d prefer the “waypoint” romance flag for the roof scene where you’re clearly interested but not yet a definite item, and keeping the actual commitment where it is now. Can he, though? He always seems to find a way. No matter how off the record he does it, he still does it. Reyes is quite the show-off, isn’t he… heehee, that it must be. No wonder Reyes is so smug. Think he knows? Well, if we entertain my theory of Reyes attaining CHIM, then surely he does? They have at least one mining spot outside Kadara though. On Mae Shesa in the Vaar system which is not far away from Govorkam. And this mining camp for graphite was attacked by other exiles. True, but I feel that’s just for resources rather than wanting to expand any colonies or other significant influence. I haven’t paid much attention to Outcast lore tho so I might be dead wrong. They’re doing either “the thing” or “it”, so I think they’re still debating which horror movie to choose for their monthly movie night. (Please don’t kill me.) Oh well, I guess I was wrong about Sloane being content with Kadara. It’s been a constant point that pro-Sloane folk have had in her favor that she’s not as predatory about expanding as the Collective purportedly is, and I’ve just gone with it. But it looks like Sloane, too, is busy all over the cluster. Thanks for all the info gathering, I'd never had bothered to focus my eye on Outcast stuff. Also allow me to wonder at naming a ship as “Local Boy”.

The real question is, will SAM call him Monsieur or Mister Vidal? Monsieur Vidal voudrait parler avec vous (or something like that, my French is pretty rusty). I give you a challenge, maybe it'll help: Take Vetra to every possible encounter with Reyes and don't select a single romance line, even when she's not with you. Edit 2: I figured out how to turn the hidden shit on; here's the pic for not taking sides on Kadara: Everybody is a bit stylized. The one with the duel is the best, he looks very determined. His pocket is on the wrong side for the romance one, just saying^^. The tool somehow doesn't recognize that I played MEA, I even made a new save. Had to edit every single encounter. There are some bugs and stuff. If you click on the question mark for Kadara some languages show the old names for the factions we found in the editor lol. True, but I feel that’s just for resources rather than wanting to expand any colonies or other significant influence. I haven’t paid much attention to Outcast lore tho so I might be dead wrong. Resources allow them to grow though and they will defend them and maybe treat this spot as an outpost of theirs. I don't remember the terminal this was on, or if it appears after certain missions. Maybe I'll find it again. Perhaps they want to steal something from the outpost. Right, it should be Local Girl, ships are always female. WHAT? SARIF’S NIECE? I haven’t read this comic so I wasn’t aware of that idiotic angle. I hope whoever wrote that won’t work on DX again, that’s so goddamn dumb. Also when googled the comic, I saw a pic where the woman has ?an augmented metal boob? at least by the looks of it, how and why does that work? But yeah, all that drama and none of it reflected in the game whatsoever, it just makes no sense. Also apparently there can’t be one comic without women getting fridged. Since this character is referenced to absolutely nowhere else, however, it’s probably safe to ignore the comic’s existence, like Zitrus says. Ah oops, I made the comic worse than it is, I got the people mixed up. Mission "forget everything" was quite successful in this regard. Jensen rescues Sarif's niece Nina Freeman in the beginning. She and her mother Natalie, Sarif's sister, are against augmentations and don't want anything to do with him. The mother is VP and in charge of PR for Humanity Front. His girlfriend is Lady Katrina Sutherland with the augmented boobs, arms and legs. She runs Britannia Resolutions, her own little security corporation, with herself as the only employee. I just read the whole thing again and wrote down what happened. It's a bit longer but if you want I can post it. I can’t help but wonder if, with the “suspiciously delicious” tag line, the gnome cereal is supposed to be an ultra-obscure reference to the gnome conspiracy in Arcanum? I mean, not likely, but how cool would that be. What, I had to look up what that was about, it's been so many years. I guess not unless they are big fans or some Troika devs went to Eidos. Oh no, no endangering the kitty! But please post your cat. 🐱 Of course it would be invincible, nobody would be able to hit it. Or it can stay home, warm the couch, run around the backyard. And after the mission Adam can go and buy catfood. They already have it in the game, I saw it lying around. My tomcat:

The temps are okay once the vault is fixed. Get a pool to that house, it'll be great. Or he could just prepare everything on Elaaden and then ship it to Kadara to celebrate there. Maybe he's just on a shopping trip. It's still damn hot, I suppose. (Suddenly I remembered my Ryder's foolish wish to be on Elaaden when it first rains. And stand in that fucking rain all the time ) A pool, how cool is that. Now that's one thing Elaaden's good for. Pool parties!! On the other hand, Kadara is already a great place for those. Natural pools and all that and geysers to top it all. Guess it still comes dwn to preference, though. and there may be a slight chance Reyes would be a little sick of Kadara afte those long month spent there. Well, what thing did Sloane greenlight? I always suspected that was about the rebellion, but it may not make any sense, so maybe the attack on the Port? Or some shady business, Keatus summoning voodoo.. or what Orchid says, because even the Outcasts need to have fun? However, I think that if Sloane were to greenlight any movie, it would have less thriller and more space murder. Hmm, when you put it like that, the only way I see for the angara to join is if they don't actually taste that good, otherwise it gets too risky for them (if indeed your average not-so-well-off angara can overcome their mistrust for aliens). Who knows how many exiles would feel less guilty about stewing a native species? Here goes: That's... not as flattering a picture of Reyes as he'd deserve. Funny thing that the official artists tend to give him stronger jaw than what he has in the game. I honestly prefer him the way he's in the game. Still, it's a fun pic. Poor Vetra, she's been through this with my Ryder and now with yours... the worst about this is it's not like she deserved it. I don't think she's going to let Sid join the Collective anytime soon Tapestry feature? Why? Strange. Is that an origin thing? I haven't checked in a while. Agreed, that's not very flattering, seems SAM wasn't involved this time. The duel pic is the best of these... maybe because Reyes looks most like his game self, really. Yeah, theysaid it, but it was kinda off the record. It didn't happen anywhere where you could see it, so I still expect that this power of the worm isn't actually featured. We know it can happen, but we never get to see it, that kind of thing. Or I just missed it,which is pretty sad. Weird. But, actually, considering the zero reason for either of the faction's presence, could it be that Ryder's going crazy in the heat? Lmao that’s true and I had not realized it. The Tempest is the only actual Milky Way ship. And even the Angara tend to just use shuttles too, right? That leaves the Kett. Oh and Ryder’s magically activated Remnant fighters or whatever those things were. I bet the Turian parties harder, too. But maybe Reyes is always super cold, explaining his layer wearing, and thus he actually loves Elaaden and dreams of getting to retire there one day? A deal breaker for Ryder, finally. The Kett have ships. Which actually gives them quite a advantage over the shuttle peasants that live in the cluster, until Ryder conveniently acquires the remnant stuff Which Turian? Yeah, sure, in the end Ryder and Reyes break over where to spend their holiday. Or alternatively they break up over Ryder tinkering with the vault and causing the temperature drop (first the natural defenses on Kadara, and now this? And those stolen satellites to boot?) Lol, the selection of booze at the Elaaden house includes various Milky Way varieties, that’s what I meant. There surely must still be a few he could acquire. And having to track those bottles down and then think of clever strategies to get them might be fun Now that's a quest worty of a legend. Someone should make a movie abot the Krogan inflitrator recovering the vest. That must be it. Or... he actually really likes the vest. For, err, sentimental reasons. Another deal breaker for Ryder? Ryder has turned his back in despair to spare him the sight of whatever it is that Vetra and that Collective girl are doing. I'm not sure this operation is going to collect them any funds, unless they turn the concept into a shirtless Reyes 12 months calendar (Ryder buys dozen). He still manages to look very chill about it, though. Reyes actually can't be featured with his secret identity and shit... too bad, nice excuse for him parading around shirtless. Vetra and her dealings with Collective girls will have to do. Hehe, I’m not sure Reyes charm would bite on the cthulhus. But I do think that the Collective’s satellite recording the Hole was a definite sequel hook. Reyes would be the perfect information provider in that kind of case. It would even work for pro-Sloane Ryder, if the threat was big enough, that Reyes would relay the information despite personal enmity. You think he'd have no chance with them? Maybe he could chat them up if his looks weren't enough When there was still a chance there would be a sequel, I was sure that was the way things were going. In the end his ruling the Kadara Port may not prove as important as the work of the Collective in general, after all. Kadara's one planet (though very likely a good place to base your operation, if you can keep yourself in power), while Reyes seems to be angling for more influence, which opens the door to a whole lot of possible ways for him to get involved in whatever Ryder's doing. Whether he hold the port or not should still have some major consequences for the Reyes/ryder interaction, as well as the Collective's actual power, but other than that we'd never even have to see the Port again. It would be interesting to see how it would be handled. Definitely. However this might get tricky with the branching, as there would have to be two versions of the character. His position as the power in Kadara Port surely wouldn't leave him the same either, but very likely not in the gangy fashion, unless something serious happened. Hmm, you know, we've always been considerng only the option og having the High noon choice negated just by Reyes taking over the Port anyway... but what if the actual way of doing it would bethe opposite one, as in Reyes getting in trouble no matter what? The Keema rumors are nothing but beneficial, and make other possible Charlatan suspects conveniently vanish in the shadows, why stop them. But with the not-really-Charlatan rumors, there'd probably always be a chance such a rumor would spread, Reyes willing or not. Considering how elusive everyone though the Charlatan to be, wouldn't it make sense for such a suspicion to become quite common? A little conspiration theory- what if he really weren't the Charlatan? What if it's actually mr. Sniper guy or someone equally close to explain Reyes' knowledge of all the Charlatan stuff? That would stir things up. Plus, yet another deal breaker for Ryder, I guess. ("Now you're telling me you were lying about being the Charlatan the whole fucking time? ") Oh, the Collective would be gone, scattered to the winds. Depends on how useful Reyes would be on his own, without a spy network to back him up, I suppose. We know he's a capable smuggler, maybe even a useful agent, but the angara probably have plenty of those of their own and he's been compromised, so his big advantage (being from the Milky way) doesn't really count for anything anymore. Reyes would just have to go out of his way to stir up the angaran practicality. You can refuse to get touchy feely talking about it... but if it's any indication, I only got that dialogue right after completing High noon (or maybe some other lock-in? I don't really remember, I did a few of these experiments) and returning to the Tempest, never without a commitment. There's no sex scene in the romance so it's already out of the mold And really, I can't imagine any way around it. Games have pretty limited space for interaction with NPCs ( sadly)... Agreed. Waypoint flag it is. (here comes my roekaar cave complaint again... after the rooftop scene, now that's the time for people to start commenting) Reyes is quite the show-off, isn’t he… It's a part of the charm, I guess. Especially when the show's been flawlessly planned in advance. Gotta respect that. Well, if we entertain my theory of Reyes attaining CHIM, then surely he does? True. But then he could surely go for the duel himself, how could he lose? (but yeah, I guess it's clear he just planned it as one big takeover show off morning) Also allow me to wonder at naming a ship as “Local Boy”. I don't remember the terminal this was on, or if it appears after certain missions. Maybe I'll find it again. Perhaps they want to steal something from the outpost. Right, it should be Local Girl, ships are always female. That looks like a dire case of someone being out of fantasy for coming up with names But it's good they used Local boy (still referred to as she, lol), because Local girl sounds... well, unprofessional, to say the least. Yes yes, and have no mysterious, clandestine plans involving volcanoes and feeding innocent, faultless people into them either, mhmm? In fact I should just completely relax my guard, shouldn't I? Well, that just about covers it. Leaving aside your highly suspicious hints of being one of the innocent folks, why do you even think I'd feed you into a volcano? That would be a goddamn waste, and that's a big no-no in my totally nonexistent shady corporation, punished by involuntary brain augs and other cheerful philantropic stuff. Which is all just a theory, of course.Hah, that's creative, I never thought of that. It was a good way to pass those gates Yeah, sometimes it's fun to just haughtily sneak around people, thinking "fools" . But usually there's some place in the game I where can't help but go kill mode, such as the post-betrayal mission in Dishonored, or the hotel in Hengsha. It's not like those people were innocent or were just doing their job. The biggest irony about this fact is that I've killed all the marks that had something to do with Corvo and left the rest live because they were too inconsequential... It's not so bad. The game also tells you about some things that happened in between. Some things don't sound very promising, but I guess it will have to do. At worst one of you will give me the basics of the story if the game makes no sense, right? When I get to read a book next, it surely won't be this one. Lol yes, everyone working there was itching to read it. They were just too shy to order it. Makes sense. Ha! I was picking traits that Jensen shares with cats, you know. I don’t think he uses the sofa to sharpen his arm sword things. He does need to be rescued every now and then, and usually from the top of buildings, though… I had that feeling, but it's also necessary to weigh those againt what Jensen doesn't share with cats to see if it's relevant Anyway, now I'm trying to decide whether the mental image of Jensen getting violent with the couch is better than that of him sitting all abandoned and apparently distressed on a roof, unable to get down till Sarif (or, well someone else about the sarif industries, maybe someone who works with computers) kindly calls for the rescue workers. Oh, I'm fully intending to pretend I never heard about a comic. Good thing the Sarifs's niece idiocy doesn't exist, maybe now I'll be able to resist the temptation to bash my head against the table because of the metal boob. Seriously. Aug boobs. Augmented fucking metal boobs, worn by a woman that works at something called Britannia. Holy. Crap. I don't even want to know what deranged brain came up with it or wha shoud it do (probably shoot lasers or something) Please don't post it, or if you do, hide it behind a thick layer of spoilers It does, but it’s not all that bad. In the game, it follows clearly enough that Jensen now works for Interpol. The Collective part IMO ought to be introduced better, but you do get the general idea of what's happened. Still, I’m sure that the game's reception would’ve been more generous if the continuation was more direct and if we got eased into the changes in the setting along with Jensen, who we’re supposed to identify with. Still, the Collective... I suppose I'll spend the game guessing where Reyes is hiding This IMO is not comparable. First of all, getting access is a main plot significant mile stone that is very sensibly gated, yet with a flexible requirement. The Courier is insanely powerful, yes, but even so the Legion is an invading force that has hold the area in terror for years, making it reasonable to moderately restrict your access. It's not the same as a side quest location being locked away for no reason - these are the quests that in an open world should be accessible in several ways, since that's rather the idea behind an open world. Second, you can get your access incredibly quick anyway, if you immediately beeline North to Benny’s casino. You can ignore Mr. House’s summons and just go and deal w/ Benny to move the story on. As to what your level 1 Courier can do at the Camp, is another thing (now I’m tempted to do this). Third, the game also responds to doing this; if you meet Vulpes on the Strip before going to Nipton first, it’s acknowledged. If Vulpes has been killed, in Nipton or otherwise, the game has another character to deliver the Mark. Furthermore, if you first meet Vulpes on the Strip, and then go to Nipton, THAT encounter is also altered, in at least four different ways. If you go to Nipton after getting the next quest from Caesar (whether or not you intend to do it), Vulpes reminds you to go do it post haste. If you’ve done several quests for Caesar and are in his good graces, Vulpes is absolutely delighted to meet you, which is probably the most disturbing moment in the game. Fourth, once you do get the Mark, you can slaughter literally everyone in the Fort (except the children) with abandon. Okay, super long ramble, but I can’t help gushing about this game and how well it’s made. It's NV. No ramble's too long Sure, it's not comparable with a minor sidequest, but it might be a bit comparable with the Oblivion thing, because "shit, and now you'll have to go see Caesar" "Ah, well, it's gonna be fine, he's a buddy" is a bit similar to "well, shit now you have to crawl all the way through this ultra dangerous ruin.." But, anyway, I was just trying to find an example. I don't really think it's possible to get there with a level 1 courier because of the xp you get along the way, however short it is, but by all means, prove me wrong (Still, I've always found it a bit weird there's no way to sneak into the fort. Feels strange to be able to just come through the front door at any time without an alternative. I've had to made some pretty mad headcanons about this, including the courier dressing up as a slave and starting fires) Really? Fangirling Vulpes owns all? He must be extra disturbing then, he's got quite some competition. Oh, their bickering is the best part of the book, and worth reading. I just wish there was a moment where they’d mellow for a minute or so. There’s couple of parts where Jensen just broods unhappily that would’ve made for a good moment for him and Pritchard to sort of bond, but no, they just aggressively bitch at each other, and remain each lonely and miserable (the dumbasses). I like their antagonism too, that's pretty much the point, isn't it? But I also think that characters can evolve, especially if the previous game already has had such development, and that such scenes as the rooftop scene should have some itty bitty ever so slight mellowing, instead of forever alone, stubborn misery wallowing from both of their dumb asses. Anyway, the very last scene was more like what I was hoping for (also I like that Pritchard’s guide also features in MD ). This. They can still bicker all they like even if their relationship got better, right? They don't have to go all touchy feely about each other. It's strange they are once again stuck in place when things have been moving in a more friendly direction before. (Unless something happened to sour it again). As for the aggressive bitching, well, as you said they're dumbasses, plus even if they weren't they're simply not the types to enjoy significant bonding moments. But that still doesn't mean things shouldn't move anywhere at all. Oh yes, absolutely, Jensen’s one of the privileged ones in that aspect, but even so there’s the nasty undertone even with his super special and expensive state of the art augs, in that he’s more of an expensive toy/weapon than just a crude tool like the prole-augs are. But yeah, he probably didn’t bother too much with the fine print or expected anything like that to happen. Well okay there’s the limit that you put for Jensen’s depravity: not eating Pritchard’s money. Good to know there’s some boundary to the madness. There's a bit nasty tone in the augmentation business in general, not even Jensen can't be that special as to avoid it. Especially when he doesn't read the fine print and is too optimistic not to expect the Illuminati or whoever attacking the company... I'm really starting to be curious about how HR is wrapped up. So much stuff... That's not really about limits, you know. I just don't want to go singing "coin operated boy" anytime I see Jensen I maintain that it’s the amazing chemistry in their interactions and also the side quest Pritchard gives Jensen, which also my favorite quest in both games. Which would suggest there is some logic indeed. Ok, I guess such a thing exists. But then logic has always been in the ship, so your first claim it's illogical wasn't right. Aww, don’t you think you’re being a tiny bit too uncharitable? He’s not that bad, considering he’s almost forty, has lived two years in rough conditions, and has terrible computer toucher sleep rhythm. Agreed though that he looks way too aged for it having only been two years since we last saw him. (Jensen’s got eye bags, grey in his beard and some lines on his face too.) It’s a bit better in motion too Well, maybe a little. He looks better in motion. Less trolly at least, and the rest can be explained by having a rough time and not enough sleep. Seems that Jensen's the handsome one in MD, after all. Oh, the programming hobby is totally in character, IMO. Poor guy should try to learn how to sleep every once in a while tho. Yes, Jensen’s love for sugary cereal is canon. That’s why they designed all the bright colored cereal boxes to scatter around his home. Programming games would be my idea of Pritchard's creative life way before writing screenplays, really. But I don't know, if he hasn' learned to sleep in all those years... with his workload and ever growing list of hobbies this will be hard to learn Why not, really. At least we know one thing about him that doesn't fit the tough boy scout thing he's got going. It's nice, actually. But you know, magical gnome....it's almost too sugary. So sugary it's suspicious. Maybe the gnomes of DX have their own hidden agenda (Btw I don't know Arcanum, but if it was made by troika maybe I should look into it. But what about the Fallout gnomes? They also pop up in the strangest of places...) It could be bad and still cherished by Jensen, just because it’s written by Pritchard, right? Maybe even the badness is what makes it endearing. Alternatively, it’s genuinely good, but wasted on Jensen whose taste isn’t refined enough to appreciate it. Well, Jensen knows (but who knows if he can interpret it correctly, I wouldn't believe him in that regard), but we don't. How unfair. But the endearing badness somehow feels very probable. Wonder if that game is better.

Everybody is a bit stylized. What I do like about the romance tile is Reyes offering his hand to us; it feels fitting for him and how his romance is structured. Reyes is a guy that takes initiative. I looked at the other LIs and mostly they just stand there. I think Garrus also reaches out to you in his picture. Hehe, what I noticed about the pic was Reyes’ hair part being on the wrong side. I tried mirroring the image to see if it were better in what must have been the original way, but there really wasn’t any real difference (which begs the question, why to mirror it in the first place?). The non-involvement pic is interesting, because Sloane actually isn’t looking at Reyes. Her eyes are focused to the right of him and she’s shoving Reyes out of her way to get a better look at something else. This of course is appropriate, since she never learns the Charlatan’s identity if Ryder doesn’t get involved. For his part, Reyes just glowers at her silently and let's her get misdirected. This is also a scenario that might easily happen in the Port marketplace; there’s some commotion, Reyes is watching from the sidelines, and Sloane strides up to see what’s going on, pushing a random nobody aside. Too bad the art isn’t anything amazing. Sloane’s hand is basically a claw and Reyes looks generic. Ha, that's funny. It corresponded to my choices pretty well. However, in the game itself I have lost the ability for NG+ despite having completed the game once, which is A CHORE because fuck not getting an upgraded Noman right away. It’s on the Mass Effect Archives site, where you up and download your various Ryders. Now they’ve included a thing where you can see your Ryder’s choices in a given playthrough. It doesn’t do anything useful afaik. You could speculate that the choices chosen for the tapestry might indicate a potential interest in a sequel and what choices will carry over, but I’d be extremely cautious about getting my hopes up on this. In fact, to take negativity to an extreme, this might even indicate that BioWare hasn’t been collecting telemetry data on MEA at all, meaning that this thing is the only thing they have in place to track players' choices. Poor Vetra, yes. I wish there were some matchmaking in the game. You could nudge Vetra towards... uh… the militia Turian (I forgot his name again lol) or something. I don’t do challenges in video games, I just go where the heart takes me~ I’ve gotten sidetracked away from MEA again, though, and I only made it to Havaarl. Thank u for acknowledging my extremely lousy joke. Is Kaetus summoned via voodoo rituals? What items would you need to summon a Turian? This explains how Sloane got him. I bet the Turian parties harder, too. Which Turian? Yeah, sure, in the end Ryder and Reyes break over where to spend their holiday. Or alternatively they break up over Ryder tinkering with the vault and causing the temperature drop (first the natural defenses on Kadara, and now this? And those stolen satellites to boot?) The moonlighting Turian. I like him. Set up his little distillery, kept on keeping on when he got banished from the Port, seems perpetually good humored when you go visit him and in his adverts, choose his spot near where the colony gets build for a rush of new customers tired of Nexus’ shitty bar. Elaaden holiday = acceptable. Retiring there = no can do. Besides, the heat wouldn’t be good for all the pets the two of them are going to accumulate. Now that's a quest worty of a legend. Someone should make a movie abot the Krogan inflitrator recovering the vest. That must be it. Or... he actually really likes the vest. For, err, sentimental reasons. Another deal breaker for Ryder? The exploits of Mr. Sniper Guy and the Krogan Infiltrator would make for a good comic strip… Unless modded, Ryder wears nothing but trash, even worse than Reyes’ little vest. I hate Ryder’s pajama outfits so much. Vanilla, they got no room to pass judgment on Reyes’ style. Reyes actually can't be featured with his secret identity and shit... too bad, nice excuse for him parading around shirtless. Vetra and her dealings with Collective girls will have to do. Oh good, I could headcanon Vetra dumping Ryder for this Collective agent and go for Reyes clean of conscience. I guess that’s one of Reyes’ secret weapons in a pro-Sloane pt. Exposed, he can freely flaunt his sexiness and gain new supporters. Whether he hold the port or not should still have some major consequences for the Reyes/ryder interaction, as well as the Collective's actual power, but other than that we'd never even have to see the Port again. It would be interesting to see how it would be handled. Do you think Reyes (in a Collective-Initiative alliance pt) might eventually get some legitimate presence on the Nexus? His Collective wasn’t directly involved in the rebellion and Ryder seems to be working towards absolving the exiles. If he stressed the information brokering side of his business, like we’ve speculated before, he could with time get a foothold on the station and slowly try to accumulate some power. It’s not like Shadow Broker wasn’t shady as shit and he got a grand representative quarters on the Presidium. Hmm, you know, we've always been considerng only the option og having the High noon choice negated just by Reyes taking over the Port anyway... but what if the actual way of doing it would bethe opposite one, as in Reyes getting in trouble no matter what? If I understood you correctly, this would also mean Sloane getting brushed aside no matter what, as well. Since Sloane can die, any scenario with her must have an alternative option where someone else does her lines. Reyes has been the go-to option, because he’s always alive, and this would require the least amount of work. If Reyes was in trouble regardless, they’d have to write both Sloane and her replacement (Kaetus? Keema in a special little coup?), even if they were only peripheral characters. It would be interesting, nevertheless, but sadly not something I’d believe they would do. ") Yeah I’d be mad. Enough is enough with the twists. That looks like a dire case of someone being out of fantasy for coming up with names But it's good they used Local boy (still referred to as she, lol), because Local girl sounds... well, unprofessional, to say the least. Lol that’s what I thought about Local Boy. But maybe it’s an Angaran ship and they have their own naming conventions rather than Indo-European language specific apparently Milky Way spanning.

What I do like about the romance tile is Reyes offering his hand to us; it feels fitting for him and how his romance is structured. Hmm, that's a good point. I just thought of the dance scene when I saw the picture. It's also nice the wink made it to the card It’s on the Mass Effect Archives site, where you up and download your various Ryders. Yeah, I thought the same thing, then remembered how quickly they buried the game... it's still strange to release a keep for it. If they were in such a hurry to be rid of MEA completely, what good would statistics even be? (btw if it were the only way to get the statistics, I'd be completely fine with it. The less telemetry or anything poking through my files, the better ) I'd be pretty wary of any matchmaking opportunities... something tells me it probably wouldn't end well. Surely Vetra can handle herself in those matters, with a little help from her (pathfinder) friends when needed. No need to take initiative, though. (for all we know, maybe she's already - secretly, how else- dating the Krogan inflitrator) Thank u for acknowledging my extremely lousy joke. Is Kaetus summoned via voodoo rituals? What items would you need to summon a Turian? This explains how Sloane got him. It's been my theory since me and Zitrus dicussed this a few months ago. If Kaetus claims to come from Natanus, what other possible explanations are there? Hmm, turian scales? (you know, since they don't have hair or anything). An offering of Horosk? Making a few explosions instead of burning candles? Expert level conjuration and an appropriate sacrifice? But the trick isn't to summon a random Turian, so the requirements will probably be higher. The moonlighting Turian. He's a resourceful one for sure. (Bonus points for making people imagine ominous music in his ads). Too bad the shuttle's a bit too small for proper partying... guess all his parties need to be geyser parties for now (it's cool anyway). Might be interesting if we got to see where he's gotten after some time. Parallel to the Collective, a new moonhsine empire rises On the other hand, they could get a pet remnant mega structure (commonly known as the worm). Plus the pet shop will still need air conditioning so the animals should be fine Not actually saying Elaaden's acceptable, I agree with your rejection of any such plans. I kinda think that the planet Ryder and Reyes would retire to has not been discovered yet. (Although that hidey hole asteroid would also make at least a good vacation spot) The exploits of Mr. Yep. They only need a funny salarian sidekick and it's complete (Unless Mr. Sniper Guy isn't too busy watching over Reyes, that is) Be glad you've never played DAI. Ryder has nothing on that demeaning beige atrocity the Inquisitor was forced to wear in the patch and mod-less days of that game. And if modded? Well, at least one thing when Ryder can cheat and Reyes cannot. All of which was, of course, orchestrated by Reyes so that he could pursue Ryder free of competition. (It's actually funny... Ryder surrounded by shady procurement specialists who have the hots for them ) I don't know... while it would be quite a sight, would that attract the kind of supporters he needs? At the worst scenario, he goes on like that for a while and suddenly his respectable merc/intel thing is gone and he wakes up one day being the new Consort or something. He might (especially if it proves right that he really aims for some at least semi-legal status), but I don't think I'd expect it to happen in the most immediate sequel, the situation with the exiles would have to take quite a sharp turn (which is not actually saying it couldn't happen. The angara also got an embassy pretty quick). This aside, doesn't seem there's reason to invite them just yet, maybe this can wait till they expand beyond the Kadara borders and become a more notable power, less like a gang and more like the Shadow broker org. Still, I don't really know about the SB embassy, it only seems to appear in ME1 and afterwards all dealings with the Broker are ninja level clandestine... But since the Collective calls the shots on a planet, they may even be in a better position for such diplomatic moves. (Btw, thinking about this, I remembered Reyes saying he wanted peace... such a modest reasoning for a greedy ambitious show-off like him... unless he meant some peace and quiet for eventually fulfilling his ambition, with a nice tyrant-free profitable base of operation as a bonus) If I understood you correctly, this would also mean Sloane getting brushed aside no matter what, as well. Not really, since the base for my thinking was getting the Port and its power plays out of the picture, as it looks like the easiest way of leveling the situation as far as Reyes and his character development are concerned. If Sloane stayed in power, Sloane could still be in power (unless somebody else got her in the meantime), people would still be mad about it and that would be it, I guess. If Reyes is in power, well, shit went down and he ended up generally in the same situation as if he lost during High noon. Although that would be a loss of an important hub and since Reyes isn't the type to just get booted out of somewhere, Kadara would have to return sooner or later anyway. Which points back to the core of the problem- it's totally cool that it's indicated Reyes would still have to be counted with if there were any predictions of the future, but how can a possibly major character that can either come out at the top or the verry bottom of the pile, be handled without having to write two very different versions of him? Yeah I’d be mad. Enough is enough with the twists. But one has to admit it would be fun. At least it would actually be a shocking twist (some suspected his Charlatan identity for sure, but who would suspect his non-Charlatan identity?) Lol that’s what I thought about Local Boy. But maybe it’s an Angaran ship and they have their own naming conventions rather than Indo-European language specific apparently Milky Way spanning. It sort of works for both, yeah They should have their own way of naming ships, but this seems dangerously cose to the MW style, as if some angara tried to mimic it with, ehm, local flavor. Me, not a blameless innocent? Surely you can’t mean that? But wait… if not volcano, then…? Can't I? And what proof do I have besides you claims? Nothing as mundane as a volcano for sure. I'll leave you guessing as I plot... unless it's that I already have come up with something. Maybe it's happening right now, think about it.
Heehee, it’s usually Malik who gets to procure him from rooftops and drop him off back at SI where the landing bad is much closer to the ground level. Also Jensen has the habit of disturbing Pritchard when he’s trying to type at his computer, much like a cat would. But now you’ve made me imagine Pritchard trying to coax a neko-Jensen down from the SI rooftop, which is a new low and also wholly your fault you monster. Muheheee Does he also have cute little kitty ears and is he holding on to an anthenna with maniacal power, while Pritchard uses a box of sugary cereals as bait in that mental image, or is it just me? There's quite a chance anyone is disturbing Pritchard from working with a computer most of the time, not only cats. (Wonder if Pritchard is a cat person. He kinda looks like one) But at least Jensen doesn't seem to do it in the cat way, aka chasing after the moving stuff on the screen and then sitting on the keyboard and just waiting to be given attention.
At least you’ll get ideas as to how Reyes may operate in some ways. Possibly hidden under every carpet 24/7? I suppose he's a bit too much of a show-off for that (Anyway, now he's in the game, hidden in the most unlikely places)
It’s the contrast. That he’s so friendly while surrounded by the crucifixions and burning buildings is very chilly and makes for a good “hwat the fuck am I doing?” moment. Vulpes also is creepy by default all the time, and this sift in his usual school shooter vibe just intensifies that. But hey, you don’t HAVE TO go see Caesar. My first pt which was pro-NCR? I never visited the Fort. I put off going to the Tops, since I didn’t want to trigger end game, and kept on doing jobs for the NCR until there were no chance to reconciliation with the Legion, and never got the invite. Benny eventually got killed in his room, too. So, you’re not forced to do a thing, if you can settle for siding with the NCR (which in itself offers various paths, so you don’t need to be a raging NCR fanboy either). If you go there because Mr. House or the Yes Man urge you, you at least get a good debate out of it, and you can still concealed carry. It’s not like it’s a zone where you can’t draw a weapon, once you find one (unlike e.g. the Sarif Industries in HR). If they had had more time to flesh out the other side of the river, add Legion held settlements, they probably would’ve opened the Fort out too. But it helps that you can see it being at the heart of a larger encampment with tons of tents and all, making not being able to just sneak a bit more palatable. You're right though, it should be accessible, just in a very challenging way (squads of pet guard cazadors?) He's creepy in Nipton, but I didn't find him as creepy on the Strip, even with the knowledge of what he did. To me, it's the atmosphere that causes the creepiness. Does he just greet the courier differently or is his entire explanation to what happened in Nipton different? Yeah, but as you said only if the NCR is the one and only, or even so if you don't want to let Benny get away, so the chance is pretty small. Still, it's interesting how the game just lets you bypass what looks as the main quest from the beginning ad go for another. So if you're past redemption with the Legion (did you blow up Cottonwood cove? I always do tons of anti-legion stuff about the town and was hunted at every turn yet still it always seems it can be set straight) are you blocked from any route but the NCR one? Also, wait, in his room? Did you black widow Benny? Btw opening fire in Sarif HQ? Now, that's the limit of Jensen's depravity I guess so, but with all the movement in the camp one could blend in and then somehow slip to the Fort. Still not undoable. In that regard, I've always had my eye on that little area filled with deathclaws, the only part of the other side of the river you can visit besides the Fort itself. That would fit nicely. Plus, it's strange it's there, with its own place marker and all. Like it was forgotten somewhere along the way.
Oh yes, absolutely! Just a temporary moment where they'd offer some mutual support. And then back to arguing when Jensen insists doing something dangerous and foolhardy. But I suppose it’s just their way of interacting and what matters is that ultimately they do try to help each other out and can trust each other.^^ Also, just look at Jensen’s face when he says bye to Pritchard: . Them being insecure dumbasses is indeed my go-to theory and the games gives enough support for that. Oh, that's some heartbreaking stuff, he looks like he were going to start singing something melancholy as soon as Pritchard is out of the hearing range. Jensen does dangerous shit all the time, though, they'd never stop bickering if mostly anything Jensen does could trigger it (buut, imagine the convos if it were Pritchard who did something reckless for a change) And ultimately, it all comes to the bolded anyway. All the less reason to keep things strained between them, though, because neither of them will probably change anytime soon.
Meh, it’s just me acknowledging that my stupid little headcanon isn’t all that serious or that I expect or want DX turned into a dating simulator. Although, as fanservicey as it would be, I also can’t help thinking that if there were a game concluding jensen’s story, it wouldn’t be out of place to offer one or two optional dialogue options demurely hinting that he might get together with either Malik or Pritchard, since he really does deserve a break after everything. Oh well, I can add that to my wish list next to a MEA sequel with Reyes as a temp squad mate (remember when we genuinely thought that could happen?). *dies* No need to put special emphasis on that, really. If one thinks about the characters in a more complex way, these things appear too I don't really think that some extra hints of that type would be something else than a nice thing to consider (and an additional achievement, maybe), he's spent time with both, so why not? Still better than any forced in-game romance you cannot stop no matter how hard you disagree with it Temp squandmates mostly happen in DLC, though. So MEA sequel with heavy Reyes presence and DLC, some of it Reyes related, is more likely
Poor Pritchard, got old and is no more the best looking guy around. But I don’t believe he was ever intended to be handsome, since his bio went on in length about him overcompensating physical weakness with emphasizing his intelligence via acerbic wit, and so on. Well, that's the thing with aging, right? Who knows who'd be the best looking guy around if all were the same age (Jensen's looking better as he ages, though, weird). Physical weakness isn't handsomeness, but yeah, point taken. Plus he's the hacker type, stereotypes, blah blah. The strange part about this is how he changes between the games, really. If he didn't look a bit different in HR, it would hardly be a thing to bat an eyelid over. You are in luck today, friend, because guess what I found? The devs made an in-character Snapchat for Pritchard as part of marketing (yes, it’s official), and one of the pics is from his screenplay (just a tiny angle, nothing revealing). The ex-cop’s name is – believe it or not – Jenson. (Actually I think that dialogue might be from MD, “insertion point” sounds familiar.) Now I really want Jensen and Pritchard to have a conversation about the script. I made an imgur album: imgur.com/a/ldQzs Considering that Pritchard angrily corrects Jensen when he calls it a game and insists on it being a “tactical simulator”, it’s probably something wholly unenjoyable. Thanks. The whole Jenson thing is... worrying? Or alternatively it hints at what Pritchard really thinks of Jensen. Can't decide. Wonder if the name was always there, or came with making the protagonist a bit less the hacker type. Yeah, Jensen must have his say to all that. Dan, he's been making notes, it must come at ome point. Maybe he'll deliver it as a well structured speech about the strengths and weaknesses of Pritchard's writing, and that's why it takes so much time. What is a tactical simulator, anyway? Sounds a bit too much like a game... Maybe it's Pritchard trying to cover for slow progress in programming the.. whatever it is? Wow ok, that’s insanely bad. Who thought making everything as busy as that would make for good-story telling? As if Jensen didn't already have one (presumed) dead important person, they needed to create a new one and one-up everything about Megan to make her super-special. Or making Sarif's sister an ideological enemy - so lazy. Jensen just randomly shacking up with his boss’ niece would in fact been less stupid. I think I’m good, thanks, unless there are some extra hilarious tidbits you wanna share. With how bad it is, I'm actually starting to doubt whether the authot knew anything about the game at all (Except for the fact that metal boobs are an achievable feat) Arcanum has maybe the best reactivity to your character’s background choices (race, gender, occupation) that I’ve seen. The RP opportunities are excellent. I see a lot of hate for the combat, and yeah it’s not amazing, but once you learn the ropes it can be fun (but for a newbie I recommend magic and getting the Harm spell asap). Arcanum is a very good game, absolutely recommended - with the caveat that it's been years since I last played. I don’t know if Jensen’s shtick could be described as “boy scout”, that’s more like paragon Shepard or something. He’s too disillusioned, experienced and old for that, and just being principled (more or less) doesn’t a boy scout make. Interesting. Since it's been years it could even be handled by weak computers.. so, added to the list. If the combat isn't worse than the FO2 one, it can be weathered. That's what the boss in the FEMA facility calls him and I find it funny because he really looks like a tiny boy scout compared to him (and generally, he often seems involved with things way bigger than him), not like he really scored high in boy-scoutness as far as personality goes What a cutie he is! His coat looks so lush and soft, you must feed him well. People always say that ginger boys are the sweetest of cats. Jensen’s cat on the mission… maybe it could be like HK project’s cat Yess, Jensen and that cat together on the mission, that would be awesome. (The cat could also perform takedowns, I suppose, and stare guards into submission as a special power) Almost like the exploits and adventures of mr. Sniper Guy and the Krogan inflitrator.

Oh right, I remember that now. Chanting Turian marches, an offering to the spirits… I don’t think Sloane would have the patience though. But maybe that’s why the task got delegated to her men on Eos. He's a resourceful one for sure. [--] Might be interesting if we got to see where he's gotten after some time. Yeah, like a Western story where after a time-lapse the little settlement blooms into a boom town and all the former wastrels have gotten stinking rich. He’ll end up driving Umi to fight for her customers with his pleasant attitude and fair prices (Kian the hot owner of Tartarus in his Reyes’ graces and thus keeps on flourishing). But you need to take the animals out to frolic, can’t do that in a desert. I think Kadara’s pretty ok, especaially considering how little of it is yet settled. Find a good, hidden spot, mask your shuttle’s signatures and enjoy your quiet get-away with Reyes, hot springs and hazy mists. And if modded? Well, at least one thing when Ryder can cheat and Reyes cannot. Unless you’re really good at modding and can do that naked Reyes stuff that that one tumblr modder did. I don't know... while it would be quite a sight, would that attract the kind of supporters he needs? At the worst scenario, he goes on like that for a while and suddenly his respectable merc/intel thing is gone and he wakes up one day being the new Consort or something. Eeesh, yeah, that would be no good. I guess he can always have a back up plan, tho lmao. But would an innocent gag calendar lead down such a grim path? He might (especially if it proves right that he really aims for some at least semi-legal status), but I don't think I'd expect it to happen in the most immediate sequel, [--] But since the Collective calls the shots on a planet, they may even be in a better position for such diplomatic moves. (Btw, thinking about this, I remembered Reyes saying he wanted peace... such a modest reasoning for a greedy ambitious show-off like him... unless he meant some peace and quiet for eventually fulfilling his ambition, with a nice tyrant-free profitable base of operation as a bonus) Yes, the Collective being in charge of Kadara gives them a lot of weight. It’s maybe the best planet after the Meridian, after all (competing with Havaarl, which is strictly Angaran). Some sort of embassy thing could happen in a relatively short time period (cause for good tension on the Nexus), and later on more Shadow Brokery arrangement. Reyes wanted peace, because Milky Way populations couldn’t be sustained in an “internal” conflict like the Kadaran turf-war. Whether or not that’s his real main reason (IMO his powergrab by itself was what he wanted most of all), it’s very pragmatic and something I think he believes in. So, IMO he was being very literal. Also, this means not only an end to the bloodshed between the Outcasts and the Collective, but the rift between the exiles and the Nexus. Well, at least the Kadaran exiles that yield to the Collective (probably most of them, and at least those that desire normalcy and hope for a renewed contact to family/friends on the NExus). Not really, since the base for my thinking was getting the Port and its power plays out of the picture, as it looks like the easiest way of leveling the situation as far as Reyes and his character development are concerned. [--] Which points back to the core of the problem- it's totally cool that it's indicated Reyes would still have to be counted with if there were any predictions of the future, but how can a possibly major character that can either come out at the top or the verry bottom of the pile, be handled without having to write two very different versions of him? I don’t want to miss out on the Port. There are no other settlements that might grow into a genuinely interesting, non –Initiative concrete prefab structure township. It won’t be as big or fun as Omega, but it can still be an disreputable (but now almost semi-legit) smuggler hole. The town’s development wouldn’t need to depend all that much on whether or not Reyes or Sloane is in power. I also doubt the devs would want to skip Kadara just to focus on sloane or Reyes - the planet is probably more important to them than the characters. Reyes could carry his own weight even without Kadara to support him, though. About the problem of writing two versions for Reyes, I guess the grim solution would be showing him lying dead in an Outcast dungeon if you went pro-Sloane. Or just hint at him still being out there, somebody hearing a vague rumor and no way of knowing if it’s true. If the story just coldly concentrated on whoever won the duel, such issues as you describe could be ignored. For pro-Sloane ppl, Reyes could then return as a minor character in the next establishment in the series, with an easier to write position since Kadara would be strictly established by then; it would be something very minor, since the other option would be Reyes in power. But why not, because they’d have the voice actor in already. A little mystery plot, where Ryder would maybe get to finally shoot him for good. Yeah I’d be mad. Enough is enough with the twists. But one has to admit it would be fun. At least it would actually be a shocking twist (some suspected his Charlatan identity for sure, but who would suspect his non-Charlatan identity?) That would be dangerous game for the devs. The players believe they’ve made a more or less informed choice, even if the facts were presented suddenly. Taking that away is always a risky proposition. Of course, it would be interesting, but as far as Reyes is concerned, I’m afraid my interest would sag. My shady murderous mastermind bad boy is just a lackey? Extremely unsatisfying, if you ask me. I must say, for me one of the main driving forces for my fascination with Reyes is the potential for continuation and further growth. This, apart from good company, is why I’m still on this board after all this time. I’m not sure any other LI or even squadmate has been in an equally promising position as Reyes, narrative-wise. Liara got to be the Shadow Broker, but she more of less chanced on that position and in ME3 she does nothing with that power (and also she was dev’s pet’d into her high station, which is what I absolutely don’t want to happen to Reyes).

She didn't start the rebellion, only joined in later and took the lead and the Nexus didn't have a presence on Eos back then (if we go by what the book tells). The port attack would be possible I suppose. I want her to greenlight a little in-game movie with outtakes and the involved chars xD. True, looks like he's saying come with me. Oh, I didn't even notice the hair. Maybe it was just a mistake or an older design. I saw Liam has this eye piece in one pic he used to have in earlier previews. And it finally managed to synch my char and the choices and everything. Guess it was a bit busy that day. I don’t do challenges in video games, I just go where the heart takes me~ I’ve gotten sidetracked away from MEA again, though, and I only made it to Havaarl. That's a good attitude. Havarl is better than still being stuck on Eos (sorry Scott, I'll get you out of there some day). Why does it sound unprofessional? It's just the same as with boy lol. If it's not a local ship maybe the owners already feel like home or just want to show it's their territory. Hmm, right now it doesn't look like he's just posing as the boss which is good (but I got played by other games ). If they did that, hopefully they would come up with something better than "Btw, I'm actually working for this other guy, sorry for not mentioning it earlier." The devs made an in-character Snapchat for Pritchard as part of marketing Hah, that's great. So they hid the Snapchat QR code in plain sight on his bio. I don't use this so I thought it was just some symbol from the game lol. In the script, it's a bit hard to see, but MacReady made it into it as well but as MacDread(y)? I think I’m good, thanks, unless there are some extra hilarious tidbits you wanna share. Nothing too hilarious. Maybe they mention something of it in the next game and then I'll post my little essay (under thick spoiler tags). I only GIS'd the comic to find a panel which saw earlier and think is from this comic, where Jensen is on his hands and knees on the ground having a crying meltdown while a flaming corpse turns its head at him and marvels aloud about how bad Jensen is with women. Out of context, it was hilarious and I just wanted to see it again (didn’t find it tho). You remember that? Yes, the second read totally refreshed my memory. That scene is at the end of the whole thing after Sutherland got blown up. The crispy guy is Quincy Durant, Adam's former SWAT commander gone crazy after receiving augs (and working for the Illuminaty in black ops, charged with industrial espionage of Sarif Industries but they couldn't control him). I got a picture of it for you. What a cutie he is! His coat looks so lush and soft, you must feed him well. People always say that ginger boys are the sweetest of cats. Jensen’s cat on the mission… maybe it could be like HK project’s cat Thanks . I told him and he says thank you as well =^.^= . He's very cuddly. Of course, he gets his cat food and some meat now and then. Really, they say that? I didn't know but I don't care about the colour, I love them all. He's my first red-brown cat. Oh yes, thanks for putting this game back on my radar. Read about it months ago. This will take while though, I've just read that the team only consists of 2 humans and 2 cats. The cat's camera could stream everything it sees directly into Jensen's eye implant. Arcanum’s combat is worse than FO2, which has the best combat of the old isometric wRPGs. It’s not as bad as Torment’s, however. I remember switching from real-time to turn based combat and back in the middle of fights. In real-time you were slaughtered damn quick sometimes. The game's music was quite nice btw.

Oh right, I remember that now. Chanting Turian marches, an offering to the spirits… I don’t think Sloane would have the patience though. But maybe that’s why the task got delegated to her men on Eos. I wouldn't underestimate her. At the very least I'd suppose she'd want to be personally present during the ritual. If Kaetus is so important to her, surely she won't just entrust his summoning from Natanus to some off-world lackeys (besides, the thought of her chanting turian marches is priceless.) Yeah, like a Western story where after a time-lapse the little settlement blooms into a boom town and all the former wastrels have gotten stinking rich. He’ll end up driving Umi to fight for her customers with his pleasant attitude and fair prices (Kian the hot owner of Tartarus in his Reyes’ graces and thus keeps on flourishing). Find a good, hidden spot, mask your shuttle’s signatures and enjoy your quiet get-away with Reyes, hot springs and hazy mists. Heee, I like that idea. Kadara's just the place for something like that and it's already a bit on the wild west side... But I don't think there will be much of a fight since he's right next to the outpost while Umi and Kian hold the Port... if thee is to be a fight indeed, I expect to be between their establishments once the upper and lower town thing goes away. (But if Umi really goes out of business, she's welcome as a squadmate, once she gets a face of her own, that is. That would be fun ) You can, but you have to get them some parasols. Or specialize in desert species True, Kadara is its own kind of beautiful, plus it has all the advantages and bonus hot springs. The place with the lake where you fight the Architect or something along those lines would make for fine place to live for pathfinders and shadow eminences who want to have a moment of peace and quiet. Unless you’re really good at modding and can do that naked Reyes stuff that that one tumblr modder did. Hey, naked is as far from well-dressed as I can imagine. Just saying. Eeesh, yeah, that would be no good. I guess he can always have a back up plan, tho lmao. But would an innocent gag calendar lead down such a grim path? I don't think so, unless something goes horribly wrong, but flashing one's sexiness around as a way of being impressive might have that result if one's not careful about their actions Grim path, lol. Reyes falls from grace and descends into life of shame. Very grim indeed Yes, the Collective being in charge of Kadara gives them a lot of weight. It’s maybe the best planet after the Meridian, after all (competing with Havaarl, which is strictly Angaran). Some sort of embassy thing could happen in a relatively short time period (cause for good tension on the Nexus), and later on more Shadow Brokery arrangement. Well, at least the Kadaran exiles that yield to the Collective (probably most of them, and at least those that desire normalcy and hope for a renewed contact to family/friends on the NExus). Hmm, yeah, but wouldn't Keema or her people need to be in charge of the embassy, then, since she's still officially the power? Everyone knows the Collective is behind her, but she's be a much more sympathetic face all in all and if she's being shown off as leader, everyone better stick to it. Which, when you think about it, gives her power of her own, as well as wriggle room to pull whatever strings she desires. And lo and behold, I'm on the imminent Keema danger rant again Maybe the Collective will actually have to get to the Nexus separately, after all? It's definitely the power grab, and I guess even Ryder can tell, but maybe it also shows that he's a man about "get what you want and if you make a few people along the way remember who helped them, all the better?" Especially if you aspire to maintain good relations with the public and all. It's not like he didn't start soup kitchens to achieve something similar. I don’t want to miss out on the Port. There are no other settlements that might grow into a genuinely interesting, non –Initiative concrete prefab structure township. It won’t be as big or fun as Omega, but it can still be an disreputable (but now almost semi-legit) smuggler hole. But why not, because they’d have the voice actor in already. A little mystery plot, where Ryder would maybe get to finally shoot him for good. There's nothing saying it couldn't measure up to Omega if it was handled well (Lack of Aria nonwithstanding. Sloane doesn't really come close, but there's Reyes for an interesting criminal hole leader). That depends on what would happen in the sequels, though. If new clusters were introduced, anything in Heleus might be left to its own devices at least for a while. Which could potentially allow it to grow more before we return there. Might not be bad, actually. But still, I wonder how Kadara's future would look, especially regarding the Nexus. But if the Krogan colony can remain independent, surely the Port can too. That would be cruel. Or lazy. Can't decide which. Or maybe it would be both. All that plot armor to just have the character die behind the scene in the very next installment? That's a bit too much like "oops, I totally forgot that character was still kicking...well, let's make him dead" which is odd. If Ryder is prevented from killing him -or even seriously injuring him- no matter how much they don't want to side with him, someone better had a good reason to do it, unless that someone is trolling the players real hard. It seems like Reyes yet has a part to play regardless of Ryder's feelings (which is all good, as far as I'm concerned) and is counted with for the future. I could see something similarly cruel happening, and that's him dying no matter what when he's done his part, but sure not without first giving an explanation why his death had to wait until that specific moment. That would be dangerous game for the devs. Well, when you put it like that... I was thinking more of the shock value than its actual implications, surely it would be a tiny bit disappointing that Reyes actually hasn't plotted all of it and more. (Unless there's an even more shady and intriguing mastermind behind him, that is ) Agreed. He's the kind of character that could be up to anything.. and get involved with anything, and he's pretty fascinating to watch in the process. Leaves one very curious to see what's next and where the whole thing is going. He's also one whose growing influence could go paralell to Ryder and that also counts, in a way. Relevant, even foil LIs ftw.[br She didn't start the rebellion, only joined in later and took the lead and the Nexus didn't have a presence on Eos back then (if we go by what the book tells). The port attack would be possible I suppose. I want her to greenlight a little in-game movie with outtakes and the involved chars xD. ... or bloopers, or the interesting Heleus cam footage. Yeah, we actually never considered that the Outcasts could be into comedy That's a good attitude. Havarl is better than still being stuck at Eos (sorry Scott, I'll get you out of there some day). Poor guy, he's going to be buried in all that dust if he stays there too long, which a) can't be healthy and b ) will make looking for him significantly harder when you return What are you playing these days, btw? Why does it sound unprofessional? It's just the same as with boy lol. If it's not a local ship maybe the owners already feel like home or just want to show it's their territory. Unprofessional was a euphemism. Unprofessional, well, as in local whore ( I don't know if that was Orchid's interpretation but it sure as hell was mine) But yeah, it had been agreed it's the same. Hmm, but yours is an interesting take too... (It would make some sense to make "local" the center of attention) Hmm, right now it doesn't look like he's just posing as the boss which is good (but I got played by other games ). If they did that, hopefully they would come up with something better than "Btw, I'm actually working for this other guy, sorry for not mentioning it earlier." Hehe, I think this would come in a very dramatic scene, straight from the big shot Why, what other proof need there be, other than my wholly unimposing harmlessness? ^_* Does something like a proof of wholly unimposing harmlessness even exist? It only proves you're in a harmless state at the given time, but to actually take the risk and make the generalization? Naaaaaaaah Wait, what… Happening right now? Do you mean making me imagine Jensen in increasingly anime situations? Devious, maybe, but what could the endgame possibly be? Hmm, I always had a feeling you were an observant one But this not the endgame by far. It involves deviousness, cunning, impossible scenarios and total de... do you really want to know? Why yes, by definition, right? :3 I think Pritchard should be using Cyberboost bars for extra efficiency. God knows I at least jump up/down to weirdest places if there’s a chance of getting ‘em. Now, since DX leans heavy on Biblical/Christian names with significance (JC, Adam), isn’t it wholly appropriate to conclude that Pritchard must be extremely good with all animals? Well, you can poke Pritchard until he despairs, more or less. Also if you stand right in front of him he comments that he can’t work with Jensen “looming over” him. So, close enough lol. Yeah, those too, they're practical. Surely no neko-operative who needs his cells refilled can resist them (but still, those cerals are colorful and sugary. And they rattle in the pack) Damn, and I was trying not to see JC so hard. Pritchard? Hmm, I must admit it's not my favorite myth. Or did you mean the Francis angle? In that case... well, yeah, so it must be. Maybe he could also manage a pet shop when he gets bored. Or alternatively, maybe the Jensen cat characteristics are simply there Haha, imagine how he must feel. Pritchard. Pritchard. Pritchard. Pritchard. I'll have to try it when I get there Btw, after a long inner fight I got CASIE for the extra dialogue options. It's actually fine because it can be ignored in the spech chalenges. I was really worried it would mess them up somehow. But really, the biggest question right now is what the hell am I going to do with that rocket launcher I happen to be casually carrying around? Really, is there even a place where you can use the damn thing? MD’s Collective actually gives some really plausible models of operation that MEA’s Collective might well employ too, particularly how Reyes really handles the Charlatan stuff. It’s a pity MEA didn’t really get down to details. One of the biggest let-downs in MEA, for me, was the secondary role that lore and worldbuilding ended up in. That’s something that I feel went on increasingly ever since ME2, though (see: aliens getting decreasingly alien). Hmm. what if Reyes played MD and got inpired? Who names their organization the Collective anyway? I don't really think MEA needed to go into details about that, though, since the Charlatan was just introduced. Wouldn't have hurt to at least have a conversation option going somewhere in that direction, yep. But Reyes' operation was always more about showing, so maybe they kept it for later. Generally, i think the lore was just being built during the game. Besides the Andromeda races/remnant there wasn't all that much. The game really left too much for the sequels. Just the greeting, as far as I can remember. I didn’t intend to oversell the scene, it’s just that it’s one of my favorite moments, because I hadn’t dared to hope that they’d write not only one but two new variations to a scene that just about everyone gets way, way earlier in the game. I didn’t Black Widow Benny, I mean merely the room with the billiards table that he invites you to. I killed him with some stick as soon as we were alone. As for your question, no – this happens only once you’re decidedly sided with one of the other factions. Your Legion reputation gets reset upon confronting Benny, no matter what. However, there are the separate quests for each faction that warn against harming them; these mirror the faction quests for doing favors for them. What I did, was initiate the NCR faction quest chain whereupon you officially aid them in the war effort against the Legion. Doing these quests for NCR in turn eventually lead to you failing the pro-House and pro-Legion quests, which when gone far enough, will mean that you’ve made your allegiance clear enough and there’s no reason to call you to the Fort anymore. Now this doesn’t usually happen, because normally you’d go to find Benny far earlier. I however went pro-NCR very, very early, due to nostalgia. It's quite impressive they did. Now only if we ever got to hear what Courier's brain actually wanted to reminisce about, the game would be just about perfect With a... stick? Muhehee. Courier brutality. Ah, I forgot about this possibility. But still, it's not like someone hanging around and blowing up all the Legion guys in range hasn't made their allegiance clear That must've been quite a nostalgia, btw. Speaking of NV, I supose you know this? Yes, pretty much, but what harm, since they both obviously so love their little verbal sparring matches. If I dated Pritchard, I’d worry about him getting into a grisly motorcycle accident. Maybe if there’s a sequel, there could be something similar as the Malik thing with him. Like him trying to do some snooping on his own just to one-up Jensen, and it goes wrong. ] Well, there's nothing wrong about a verbal sparring match or two. I can't really imagine Pritchard having a motocycle accident. Frankly (huh, so weird to use when talking about Pritchard ) I can't even imagine him riding it. Maybe he just tinkkers with it since it's standing in his workplace on top of the stairs and all that? Yeah, one more attempt to get to the bottom of things sooner than Jensen does... it wouldn't actually even seem like an earth-shatteringly danferous action, just a bit of bad luck and shit goes down.. I suppose you wouldn't let him die like you did poor Malik? It would help flesh him out, some light RP touches like that. The problem with Malik is of course that she can be dead, but she could be retconned to be alive no matter what. I doubt anyone would protest that. I can’t believe that anyone would hate her. Err... like she'd just get up and walked out of the Harvester morgue like nothing ever happened? There would surely be a few very surprised Harvesters if that were the case Still, it would be nice to have Malik back. Or to have a sequel. I actually find HR much more interesting the second time. Maybe because I'm out of the wtf is this new conspiracy phase. Agreed on the RP touches, as you said there already are some anyway. Doing this would hardly turn it into a dating simulator. Jensen’s definitely the type that gets more handsome and charming as he ages. Lucky bastard. Nothing like the new engine (and character concept) being kind to your looks in the sequel, right? Did you check the gallery - a huge close-up of Jensen’s face too, surely he has to be thinking something of Jensen. But really, this shows how maturely Pritchard eventually handled the feedback. He actually listened to the advice and started on a new version, and took clues from real life after recognizing that the Picus person pretty much described Jensen in her email. That’s more than most aspiring writers would do. Maybe he’ll change the names once the script is closer to completion. Jenson is aggravating, because it’s like an unintentional misspelling every time you see it. Jensen is probably too overwhelmed to even bring the topic up. I’m sure he could torment Pritchard with criticism, but he’d have to have some restraint, since it would just be too cruel to relentlessly mock the script if Pritchard trusted him enough to show it to him. (But then again Pritchard seems immune to everything Jensen does or says.) He and Pritchard should watch the movie adaptation together. Either it’d be like those simulators used for actual training for professionals, or he means something like a Paradox grand strategy. Maybe Pritchard uses it to try out scenarios that his ex-cop hero can use in the script. Yeah, he was studying him to prove to himself he's really not all that handsome That's a matter of how you loked at it, maybe hejust caved in to the demand of stereotypical tropes in shows But the truth is we don't really know anything about the qualities of the first version so maybe he actually learned something along the way... Or maybe he won't. Might be worth it to him just for the look on Jensen's face when he sees the Jenson thing. Comes to think of it, maybe it is intentionally misspelled... I think they'll definitely see it together, is there another way? Relentlessly mocking someone's script goes beyong word sparring. And decency in general. But since Pritchard changed the script as per the Picus instructions, he can't be that resistant to feedback from anyone. I can sure imagine Jensen nagging about every little detail, though. Or he's actually been working on DX version of this game and is kinda reluctant to admit it www.goat-simulator.com/ Oh yeah, that’s true, so he does. I forgot because on my new pt, I immediately began zapping him w/ the stungun, rendering him speechless, until he at long last died (took 16-18 zaps on the hardest difficulty to kill him – I was starting to panic about not having thought of a plan B lol). But the bosses often mischaracterize Jensen, as we well know. As for Jensen, hmm, I’d go for the “lean and mean” characterization considering how he often stands opposing hulking big opponents or large hordes of enemies. Arcanum’s combat is worse than FO2, which has the best combat of the old isometric wRPGs. It’s not as bad as Torment’s, however. Anyway, don’t play it for the combat, unless you love pain, like I do (I delved into schematics until I became good with guns, which in the context of Arcanum, is a sure sign of a troubled mind). It probably costs like 5 euros on GOG anyway, so take a look at the character creation and see if it doesn’t hook you by itself. I have a feeling you might enjoy the RP opportunities. He calls him that in the cutscene, you can't really have missed that... or did you find a way to avoid it? Hee, that's a good strategy, (not for him, though. Zapped to death.. man, that's humiliating ) I just went for boring running around shooting and throwing grenades. They do it quite on purpose, I suspect. Throwing the little guy out of balance and all that. But I've yet to see Jensen having to face hordes. You know me too well. Yeah I hardly play games for combat (first and foremost, that is, good combat is fun), but don't tell me it also has the Benny Hill running system. But Torment's was a also bit of a pain (I think the biggest death count by the end was actually due to being bitten to death by a floating skull.) so I really don't know which one of the alternatves is better.
