It would have ultimately been a better, more suitable development for Liam. He was so concerned with getting results quickly, so concerned with making people optimistic, kept trying to play Pathfinder doing crap behind Ryder's back, he could've stayed on Kadara with the colony. It could've been his project to help fix, and he'd also annoy us less. It's what Liam really wanted to do, and what he should do because he's like the odd one out in the team. I feel like everyone had a purpose there except him. In the mean time Reyes could've learned what it meant to be on a team, and to trust people. Plus his contacts could've aided Ryder and the initiative. So he'd pull his weight.
But meh, since we most likely won't get another Andromeda, possibly Mass Effect at all. We can just create our own headcanon.

In the mean time Reyes could've learned what it meant to be on a team, and to trust people. Plus his contacts could've aided Ryder and the initiative. So he'd pull his weight. As much as I can appreciate the desire to have Reyes on the team, I can't help but imagine his expression when Ryder pitches the idea that he should leave his newly won Port in order to gallivate around the cluster and work for the Initiative in order to learn the meaning of team-play. Reyes probably needs to keep tight rein on Kadaran politics in the coming months. A short stay on the Tempest wouldn't harm him, though... I think Reyes trusts people, such as the high level operatives in the Collective. And Keema, to a degree. He's known Ryder for either weeks or months, so while I seriously wish he had revealed himself earlier, I can't blame him too much either. Ryder is clearly not the number one priority in Reyes' life, and I just fucking love that. I believe Reyes would sacrifice his relationship with Ryder for the Collective, should it come to that. My Ryder would do the same to him if it were the other way around. I wonder if it was ever really a part of the Character concept, or it's just a way of saying he's supposed to be from Chile, since no one probbaly bothered to research the accent. Or maybe the VA just didn't pull it off? What do you mean? Him supposedly being Chilean is part of the concept the writer had for the character, is what I meant. For the accent, I remember reading in this very thread that Boulton was born/spent his childhood on Gibraltar, and therefore his Spanish accent would’ve come from there. Dunno how accurate that is. Since his country of origin never came up in the game, they might even change it later, if need be, to fit the VA’s interpretation. I like the Chile idea, though, even if it didn’t matter in the game. Wait, how exactly is the quest handled if you go pro-Collective? It's usually the first one I do on Kadara, so Iwouldn't even think of waiting that long with it. If the commentary were to happen it would be quite easy to miss... which is probably fine. No info about Reyes comes in a straightforward manner I like to leave this miniquest until after High Noon, since it means a tiny iota of more Reyes related content. It goes as usual, you free Remi and reassure her, and then she freaks out about still being stuck in the Badlands. Then (from memory): Ryder: The Outcasts are gone. Kadara is a free port. You can return blah blah. Remi: What?! But if not Sloane, then who is in charge? Ryder: It’s… complicated. Blah something blah. Suvi, we need a shuttle for pickup – can you contact the Collective? Suvi: You mean Re-? Oh! Yes, of course! Remi: Oh thank you, thank you! [or something] It’s a nice little consequence for seeing how getting rid of Sloane helps the exiles. In the end it shouldn’t matter whether or not Remi paid the fee or not. She doesn’t deserve to be eaten either way. Reyes and his space adventure. Embarking on a voyage to a different galaxy to be a smuggler and start a gang. I think Ryder should definitely have reciprocated the "is Andromeda everything you hoper for "question" Reyes’ space adventure is working out pretty well for him, wouldn’t you say? Ryder sort of did, but Reyes answered with an untypically idealistic answer, just to show his more starry-eyed side (showing that there is a less practical side to him, which makes sense since otherwise he wouldn’t have joined the idiotfest that is the Initiative). Hehe, yes. And then they wonder why Reyes is so moody all of sudden Reyes would be a boring endgame boss, I think. Maybe not combat-wise, with the hazards, turrets and maybe some guard horde mode, but because he'd probably die somehow in the resulting cutscene, like say the archon (that was such an ultimate diappointment). It would be quite wise to not tell Keema anything she doesn't need to know, but the angara probably have some tricks o their own. (whether she gets invited or not would actually be a good indicator of how much of "friends" they really are) Now that I'm thinking about it, it would be interesting to know what exact business Reyes and Keema met through. Did he do some smuggling for her? Or did he make it so they met via business? Reyes could have special tricks in his sleeve for a boss fight... I think he’d avoid dirtying his hand to the last. Maybe he’d even try surrendering, if the one attacking was the honorable type. I think Reyes could make excuses about not inviting Keema, such as it not being wise to take any risks of her being seen in the vicinity. She would know that Reyes is being cautious about her too, but I think she’d accept that. It’s only pragmatic. Yet she might needle Reyes for an invitation just for shits and giggles. I think Reyes approached Keema because of her position. He probably first gathered intel to figure out her position on Sloane. He could probably guess pretty quick that she was not content with Sloane’s policies w/r/t the Angara. Then he would’ve made up some business deal in order to meet her in person, do some more business over a time to get to know her better, before eventually starting to make overtures about an alliance, before finally revealing himself. Rough. That would be an option to make me grin for eternity. But I don't really think it would be wise for Vetra to engage in a speech contest with Reyes. I was thinking more of the two of them on some smuggling non Ryder-related professional rivalry or the like. So who, if not forces of evil? Oh, but I was also theorizing about options with those H-bombs, you know. The same damn thing, fitting Reyes' dirty fighter MO, yet I still ended up there French Vetra might have a chance, she’s impossibly endearing. I am sick of forces of evil, I want a geopolitical rivalry and frail alliances between various Angaran and Milky Way factions, including but not limited to the Initiative, the Collective-cum-Kadaran people, the official Angaran government, a more serious anti-alien faction borne from the ashes of the Roekaar, the Krogan colony. This, of course, is not something BioWare writers are capable of, so if there’s ever another game, it’ll be another cookie-cutter ancient evil. *grumble* Allies yes, but being constantly invited to some slavish estate on a luxury island is on another level, ya know. Is it? It's likely common knowledge that Ryder had a hand in the Collective taking the Port, so their relaxing at Charlatan's estate might not be all that shocking. Depending on how the Collective actually comes to be viewed by the public, maybe. It can either boost the reputation of the Collective or make Ryder look like a shady asshole, but who's to say which at this point? Well, I don’t know what sort of things Czech politicians/civil servants/people like that can get away with, but I think it’d be highly suspicious. Also it is already known that the Collective are shady as fuck, it will take years or decades of work to sanitize them, and it might even be that Reyes is banking on the cluster remaining sort of lawless and loose with law in the future. Ryder’s clean scout’s image may get tarnished (wouldn’t we like that muehehe). He doesn't seem the type to enjoy watching stuff from the sidelines. He's no Liara to hide behind a monitor. Yeah. That would be somewhat underhanded and obsequious. [...] Hm, no comment. Either you didn’t catch it or felt it was beneath your notice. I think I've said that once somewhere. I'd like that to happen, High noon doesn't depend on Ryder at all, so it would actually be cool if the game counted it as a failed quest at some point and went with its own outcome. Ignoring stuff is a choice too, so why shouldn't it have consequences? Besides, the news that the Charlatan left the shadows and managed to take over the Port would make for an awesome piece of backgroud news, especially if it was never officially brought to light he'd been right there the whole time. I remember and agree, but I was varying the old theme with a quest solution where Reyes wouldn’t succeed with the exact same High Noon plan, but with a modified version with maybe some more Collective casualties and without the Initiative alliance that’s a given if Ryder’s involved. The situation wouldn’t be ideal for Reyes, since Ryder was an integral part at least since some point, and the Initiative would also be much less certain, and there of course would be no Outpost. It indeed should count as a failure, and it’s strange how little weight the Outposts and securing living space in general have in the game. The boring main quest with the Kett takes the center stage and the entire game can be completed with how many Outposts exactly? Just one? Makes me wonder how the Nexus would take things if the Collective won like that. Of course, the Collective is open for cooperation from the get-go, so an agreement might be reached even without Ryder. I wonder how many people will even think about the names or know how they can be used. So both have names that can be first and last names. Even Vidal can be a first name. The boxing site is the best, I find all the people with rare names there . And Wikipedia lists 16 people, too. Okay, so here we’ve been wondering about Reyes’ hand-to-hand fighting preferences, but obviously he has history as a boxer back on Earth. He just couldn’t endure the all too high possibility of getting his face wrecked and wanted to do something more ambitious. It's a bit silly he's punching when he has an assault rifle. I would give him some flashbangs in addition. Good to make an entrance or an exit. I want to give him toxic darts (the poison plants) and gas grenades (because it’d be new). Oh yes. Before they jump off the cliff on Eos, Liam manipulates Ryder's jetpack and that triggers an alarm when they're falling. And later in the Nomad Cora says that the techs took a look at the SAM feed because of that and saw them jumping and probably also making out in the sand after. Why can't SAM keep this footage offline and tell them everything is fine? It's like Ryder has no privacy anymore. What the hell? Lmao the MEA writers wrote SAM entirely because they couldn’t let go of their circle jerk fart huffing about the synthesis ending, and they STILL can’t make the concept not fucked up and ethically dubious. Which would actually be interesting if there were any insight and variety of opinions about it, such as an ability to reject SAM. Have you ever gone through the trouble of getting out of bed and dragging your massively hungover ass to a lecture, only to find out you're the only one who doesn't seem to know it's been canceled? Aw, poor thing. I don’t think I ever have, but every lecture cancelled should be met with joy (unless they’re just rescheduled or something, that would be bad).

If Reyes is sharing that huge Pathfinder bed I'm sure no one has to leave. I don't know, what if Reyes works at night? He'd be waking Ryder up with his Charlatan business all the time, resulting in a loss of productivity in the pathfinder, which would lead to Heleus exploding or who knows what. I think he needs his own place to stay om the ship, Ryder's bed is no place to live when you're as busy as he is. But whether he'd take Liam's little storage room is quite another question Ah okay. It does show if you read the chart, hehe. Theoretical use, how mean, some people are called like that^^. Sloane is a last name that developed also into a first name, although a rare one. The same with Kelly but it's more popular. OK, I hereby apologize to any Reyes who may have been insulted by my untactful claims. I was merely concerned with statistics I wonder if the authors had some special agenda making everyone's first and last names so unclear Hmm, actually if the name Sloane really did evolve that way, what's to stop Reyes from going the same way in the next few hypothetical centuries? It's a bit silly he's punching when he has an assault rifle. I would give him some flashbangs in addition. Good to make an entrance or an exit. Yes, the star gazing I think shows his contemplative side. Maybe his biggest, darkest secret is that he can't shoot Yay, flashbangs. That sounds good. I want to give him toxic darts (the poison plants) and gas grenades (because it’d be new). Hmm, why am I suddenly imagining Reyes flank-attacking people with potted plants? Anyway, darts need to be shot from something. Ideas? I can't help but think gas grenades are impratical, though. You never know where you end up. Maybe he could sport one of those tiny spy guns. Reyes could plant hints that the island is remote and good for relaxing and during a free week Ryder goes there and gets surprised by him lol. Okay sailing then. It's likely not instantly clean after the reset, yes. Would be very fast. I expect it to be fine at the end of the game though . Heeehee, Ryder squatting at Reyes' secret boss lair. Now that would be a way to repay him for High noon I'd just love. The tense dramatic scene that would ensue when Reyes catches Ryder there drinking all his choice whiskey would be priceless. Well, sailing is fine no matter whether the sea is toxic. Maybe it's even better if it isn't. I wonder if there are fish on Kadara... acid resistant fish, of course. (And what the vault reset does to them)Oh yes. Also, Cora asks Liam if he wants the authorization code for SAM for some private time with Ryder but he declines. She shuts down the logs in her romance. Is she the only one who knows the code? Why does Ryder not have it or care to get it? Have a word with him, give him a stern look. Cora is the second in command and almost made it to be replacement Pathfinder, makes sense she'd have the code. I think Ryder should have it as well, they just never bother to use it in the game, which is quite weird. Is just about anything Ryder does transmitted to the Nexus? Ryder talking to Jaal? Ryder feeding the space hamster cereals? Business to be archived for posterity to be sure Yeah, surely that would be very effective. Maybe Reyes can be so intimidating with his stern look that even Mr. Sniper Guy will think twice before blabbing out some confidential Collective information. Alternatively, though, he might prove very resistant, in a favorite uncle way so he'd always get away with everything It was the first thing I tried . Yup, they're all my handiwork. No, it won't be him. Who wants to see that guy? No one, of course. That's the point. The ultimate Christmas troll A short stay on the Tempest wouldn't harm him, though... I don't know, a stay on the Tempest could be dangerous I like to leave this miniquest until after High Noon, since it means a tiny iota of more Reyes related content. It goes as usual, you free Remi and reassure her, and then she freaks out about still being stuck in the Badlands. It’s a nice little consequence for seeing how getting rid of Sloane helps the exiles. In the end it shouldn’t matter whether or not Remi paid the fee or not. She doesn’t deserve to be eaten either way. Can you get the quest after High noon when the fee policy is dead? It seems pretty urgent by the time you get it to just leave it for another day I'd actually expect Remi to be eaten if you dally too long (a less than nice consequence, sure), but it's a nice touch anyway. It also makes sense now why you picked Suvi of all people to spill the beans. She's already on her way to do it at some point. (well, Reyes has Mr. Sniper Guy, we have her) Reyes’ space adventure is working out pretty well for him, wouldn’t you say? Ryder sort of did, but Reyes answered with an untypically idealistic answer, just to show his more starry-eyed side (showing that there is a less practical side to him, which makes sense since otherwise he wouldn’t have joined the idiotfest that is the Initiative). Hehe, yeah, it's a very fine space adventure Hopefully there's still plenty of the adventure side in it for Reyes and not just playing the boss even after he succesfully dethrones local tyrant and take sover the Port. Only sort of. Reyes asked Ryder whether they're happy, Ryder asked why he'd come, to which he gave the idealistic answer (if being someone can be considered idealistic, but whatever, it was contemplative at least But as for the practicality of it, in some situations finding a completely new beginninng could be a practical thing to do, even though you'll probably never take the leap without a bit of starry-eyedness). It would still be interesting to know what he thinks about where he is at the moment. Whether this is where he likes to be or something he goes with because it gets him somewhere. It's nice to know how everyone ended up joining the AI, but not many would talk about what they think now they're there. Well, if he hasn't he should be starting to think of some since he's aiming to become a boss level type. It would be sad if he went down like Burke (wtf, no bossfight?) But surrender? Now that would probably be one of the dirtiest tricks for him to come up with I still think he'd make every attempt to run first. I don't think such excuses would fly with Keema I can imagine her having lots of fun to get the invite using every fancy social trick up her sleeve. Might be quite a battle. Yeah Keema might have been the obvious go-to person when you went lookig for dissent. I somehow remembered the the doc from the slums, who said that Charlatan send gifts to recruits. Wonder if Keema also got something, not yet knowing from who. It would definitely be interesting if she were the one to suspect Reyes first. French Vetra might have a chance, she’s impossibly endearing. *grumble* I should listen to French Vetra some time, she really seems to make an impression But think of the irony of the exile port with the highest concentration of bars in the Heleus cluster besieged by forces of evil who confused it with some other colony. Forces of evil usually leave these places alone Btw, it could be the black hole art critic cthulhus. That would be interesting, but it would be hard to build the games about, I guess. It would be hard to look for big bosses, no mystery (short of conspiracies) etc. But as for the Roekaar... that seems to be the best the Angara can come up with, really. I don't know if they can do better Well, I don’t know what sort of things Czech politicians/civil servants/people like that can get away with, but I think it’d be highly suspicious. Hey, don't bring politics into it, that's unfair What I meant was that Ryder's probably known to be friends, or at least associated with the Collective thus their reputation is tarnished by default. The real question is the extent because Ryder brings lots of good things to the AI people. Interesting point with the lawless cluster, it will probably take years before the situation stabilizes so it's likely there will be kind of frontier law for Reyes' lifetime. Besides, he's exiled and the Port isn't really nexus jurisdiction, so whatever law the nexus comes up with he can disregard or find a way around. Hmm, I guess that would be a great point for political tentions, actually. Hm, no comment. Either you didn’t catch it or felt it was beneath your notice. I must admit I didn't catch it. I'm still sure I'm missing something. Please elaborate, unless it ruins the point? But why wouldn't Reyes succeed with the plan? Ryder is a pretty useless observer during High noon unless they decide to intervene. Without them Reyes would just be free of one variable in his coup scheme where shit can go down at every turn anyway. Since Reyes' original plan didn't count with Ryder on the scene, their integrality is only in the diplomatic connection, which they would provide either way. I don't think the Nexus would particularly care about such development, maybe they'd be relieved that Sloane's gone and not ruining the AI good name in the eyes of the angara anymore but what else? They didn't seem to care about the exiles enough to take interest in who's leading them. Reyes might still approach them (and now I realy wonder which one. They all have to be so delightful to deal with) with the offer, since he doesn't get to expand without it much, but I guess he'd have it much harder to succeed without Ryder making the way. They'd be mistrustful of someone they knew pretty much as Exiles leader 2.0, now with more shadiness, and breaking through that could be hard work. Maybe he'd bring Ryder into it eventually, they've got some influence. Maybe he could show in the final battle to show support, that might count as a point in his favor. Outpost would be out of the question, sure, Reyes would have to playing extra nice to allow it, and the leadership might not believe him anyway. Yep, the outpost count is weird, but I guess that the game doesn't span so much time and at the moment it's more essential so make the cluster livable than plopping down outposts. Just a possible excuse, though. No, it was not planned as trilogy featuring Adam from the start. Ah, but at least a sequel to MD was planned? Let’s hope not, but we know they’re not doing anything now. There were interviews or something earlier that gave a more bleak impression, but of course nothing concrete. In my understanding, not even HR sold that well, and MD a lot less. And a lot of the customer press is very negative due to the microtransactions, despite them not really impacting the game at all. It seems immersive sims aren’t doing so hot in general, as Prey also sold badly despite being the best game in years. Hysterical? Well, I’m just the messenger. But insert the pessimist_garrus.gif again. Remake would suck ass, but who knows. If they continue with Jensen and get to the point where DX happens, it might be a tempting option. Yeah, microtransactions. I've come across some discussion about MD and it seemed everyone's complaints were about them and not the actual content of the game, which is pretty sad. Seems like the whole thing is going to shit because of some shitty marketing strategy, rather than lack of merit. Yeah, definitely, I'm not blaming you of hysteria. It seems the whole discussion about games has turned kind of hysterical. (The chill thread excluded, of course) Or maybe it was like that the whole time and I just wasn't looking? But seriously, if they announce the next DX will be a remake, that might not end up well. Or did it? I wouldn't know, I noticed no change. And having read the Tales of Sheogorath I surely won't go looking for any. You can't get me mad, I'm resilient. The question is, can you handle the retaliation? Depends on who it was. I hope he isn’t bothered by random people being inattentive towards him, since because of his behavior I assume there are a lot of them at the SI. Poor Frank, he needs a hug (have to you got to that line in Black Light yet? )Also guys, after having my brain come up with the idea earlier in this thread, I couldn’t help but go for it, and take this concept art… Ok, I must know. There's a line about hugging Pritchard in the book? Aww, that's so fucking cute. Jensen enjoying a drink and the company of kittens after a long covert mision. That could turn anyone pacifist, save for a few deranged individuals that would just see ammo for their cat launcher. Btw the brownish kitty on Jensen's lap should be the official DX kitten or something (maybe just an offical Jensen's flat kitten?). It fits so well with the colors and atmosphere. It's also real fluffy and all. Doe eyes? You mean the soulless insect eyes that dilate unappealingly every time he lapses into the boring, endless memory scenes? And the reason that you can’t kick him even if you want to, is because BioWare doesn’t allow enough choice when dealing with party members. 100 kittens would be enough to warrant a temporary cat sanctuary until all of them would find homes. Jensen needs a new pet so he’d take at least two and Pritchard would take one. They could pitch the idea to Sarif’s PR guy as a SI humanitarian effort for good publicity. Hm, Frank might get hurt, but a warm kitten from a basket would help him recuperate. :3 Maybe the gentlest little pat could count as a kick. I guess, but Jensen brought it on himself by having a dream or nightmare about Megan at the start of the DLC and speaking her name. I didn’t want Burke’s gun either so I dropped it off in a vent, so he couldn’t use it either. There are a lot of ppl that don’t pay much attention in games, so who knows. It would also depend on Megan acted. She could act very pleading and the player might buy it. There’s more but let’s wait until you’re on MD. Yeah, precisely those. I had a hunch you'd object, but me and the other person involved in that discussion actually like Thane. Hmm, when you mention it there are companions I'd gladly kick all the way to the final quest and all I get is a chance at mildly passive aggressive comment, but Thane really isn't one of them. I suppose you'd choose Thane with no regrets then? (Btw while it's true that the force of the kick is not specified, implicitly an aggressive kick is what's meant) That would be a good strategy, everyone loves the guy that makes kitten sanctuaries. Nobody tries to riot around a building that also holds a kitten sanctuary. It's perfect. Sarif should do it, there's supposed cats meowing all over Detroit Lol, Frank holding a kitty with that childishly hurt look. It's true you probably can't get that effect if you just hand him a stop worm. But according to your pic it seems Jensen took four kittens. There's never enough of them, right? Well, Megan was technically the scientist he knew best, so maybe it make sense he'd remember her forst and foremost, no lovey dovey shit attached. Listening to Burke in the final fight it seemed to me he was really just trolling. That or he was really dumb and only had working capacity of one word per fight, that is. I dropped the gun on his dead body when I realized my inventory would soon be cluttered to high hells. Seemed fitting. Bah, pleading? After someone uses you as a lab rat, how dumb do you have to be to believe them anything? Great, more Megan, can't wait. Btw is it just me or is the missing link basically How Adam met the Collective? But Jensen would lose all his authority if they called one of his underlings. And you acted all scandalized over that pic and now that mental image. I dunno, is he spry enough to even attempt? I think he’d send Malik if Pritchard failed. But it's cheaper and possibly faster than a rescue crew. Which one of those is better for Jensen's self esteem I don't dare judge, though What? That pic was way worse. Try to sell that as a romance co okay, I take my invalid argument back, people are weird. But I wasn't scandalized, more like Maybe he's well aware of all that "if you want it done correctly..." thing an would see no other option to save the face of SI if Pritchard failed. I suppose he's augmented enough to be in a pretty good condition. Hmm, I suppose Malik could fly in with the helicopter and try to throw him that rescue ladder. Oh you think Jensen would do the startled jump? Maybe, he’s got pretty good reflexes. But then I think it would be him and the ocelot in unison. Jensen should care, because first his home sofa is destroyed, and it’s Sarif property, and then Pritchard’s work sofa gets destroyed, and it also is Sarif property, and then Sarif will get annoyed at having the company assets repeatedly broken. He’ll summon Jensen for a serious talk and we know how Jensen would hate that. Yeah, he'd do the jump while the ocelot would be there like He's been a cat for a longer time, after all. But jensen and the ocelot jumping at once would be adorable, so I'd go with this one. It would also show they'te buddies and synced for mission Flawless logic, that. But maybe Sarif doesn't care about lowly stuff such as sofas. Or maybe it could be a speech challenge for Jensen. Mollify the boss on the issue of destroyed sofas. Or better, convince the boss it was Pritchard Jensen wouldn’t fall for that, he knows Pritchard is the better hacker. Maybe Pritchard would just get too arrogant for Jensen to tolerate and he’d just leave. That video was funnier than I expected. Did you ever go to the manufacturing plant via the duct on the roof? I like how Jensen and Pritchard conclude that they are going to have to address this security oversight in their next security chief meeting and both sound already utterly miserable at the prospect. You think he wouldn't be dared into it? I don't know. If there was friendly atmosphere and enough to drink... Hopefully he wouldn't leave. It was supposed to be a rare friendly moment after all It wasn't as much about the video but the song (because the two have a bit of compete about everything air) The video is just something I happened to remember. Yeah, of course, both times I like crawling through every duct I see. But it doesn't seem to be just their problem, everyone else places those events in such fucking convenient places... I guess... But he can be bit of an asshole, if you take those replies and actions. And there’s stuff like “Yeah rip.” It’s not like he’s gormless softie like Ryder. I think it’s challenging for devs to create an asshole protag since it would be very easy to make them altogether unlikeable. Hmm, makes me think about Prey in a certain manner of speaking… The Bard’s just a wisecracker aka the Atton type, though, not an asshole as such? Based on that vid that is, I haven’t played the game. Sure, that's why I didn't start complaining he's utterly and unsalvageably generic. He has his moments (I don't know why, but I also like how he says "I like everyone, dr. Reed" in the intro. He seems he's going to be much more fun there), but it seems he should have more if he weren't... sanitized for common use. Btw this response was planned way before I saw his reaction when Kaitner was dying (raaaawr!!!!! They just had to kill her, didn't they). "You need a medic" just made it to my top ten dumbest lines ever, especially when he was standing there holding that motherfucking trauma kit... What about Prey specifically? Hmm, that's an interesting question. He's no role model for sure, but I don't think he's as horrible as The Narrator would have it, and lots of the things that are shown as proof of his assholeness are meta-commentary on stuff virtually every PC everywhere does (looting corpses, robbing houses etc.). I think it may depend on what final choice you take when you finally realize what's going on. Btw it's a legitimate choice in the endgame to say "fuck you" to all parties concerned and walk out on the entire quest.(that's what I'm hinting at when I mention it in avoiding the High noon choice) I love this game so much.. I'd recommend it to you despite the wonky gameplay, but the development of graphics has aparently rendered unplayable. I agree with critics that the ending wasn’t perfect, but I don’t understand why so many complain about it. ME2 is a good comparison in that the main story didn’t move forward w/r/t the Illuminati etc. that much, and the Collective stuff isn’t all that compelling. My biggest criticism is characters being way worse than in HR. ME2’s ending’s strength of course is how well the suicide mission was constructed. I think they ought to do more with Adam’s background. Better not discuss it more until you’ve finished HR. Jensen is popular and MD teased a ton about him and his genes, so I imagine they won’t abandon all that, unless some idiot suit decides that the next DX needs to be a multiplayer “gaming as a service” pissfest. I think Adam was part of a patch of babies that all had the same stuff done to them, but only he survived the after-birth testing. So maybe he was lab grown to begin with. I got the impression that even his original parents weren’t really his parents, just scientists that grew fond of him, meaning his mother would’ve just been a donor that gave eggs. (Besides, would anyone consent to have their actual baby experimented on like Adam was?) My impression was that he was subjected to gene therapy in utero (in an artificial womb) like the other babies. Him just happening to grow a gene mutation naturally feels too big of fluke, especially since White Helix had been trying to do this shit for a while already. Too bad about the characters. They're really great in HR, aren't they? Now that I think about it they really seem that way. I wasn't trying to criticize the ME2 or the ending, ME2 is still my favorite, just wondering why some games get away with shit others don't. Well, if he's popular enough mabe he'll appear in th future. It would seem like a dafer bet than remaking the older games. But with background like that I'd expect to bump into it every once in a while. He's some sort of mutated prodigy in a world that obsesses over augmentation, surely that can't just be treated like nothing special's happening. There must be a reason why he's the protagonist if the entire conspiracy shit, but maybe it's really better to save this discussion till I have all the details. Good guess on the parents, that's very likely (even though some people in DX have an unhealthy enough obsession with experiments to use their own child), especially since it's probably easier to get necessary amount of babies like that. Michelle was pretty sure they were his parents, though, but maybe she was just senile? Well, they had to succeed eventually. But I though that producing this gene mutation was the goal rather than Jensen suddenly popping up and being all super special unexpectedly. Unless someone did something else with him before he was born, that is. I like to make a choice and then live with the consequences. It might be like something like Boone dying and resisting the immediate “reload” impulse, but past the initial reaction, it becomes a meaningful event in the pc’s journey, and in the end the story is richer. Usually I also enjoy trying the other approach in the next pt and like to save alt approaches for that. Like in MD there are two locations you can go to at one point, and I’m curious about the other and will take it when I begin my MD replay one of these days. Essentially what you say in the quotes. It would feel better if Jensen really cared about a friend that much to REALLY miss out on this crucial intel, and the immersion is stronger and the sacrifice more meaningful to me when I’m not privy to that info either (at least for the duration of that pt). I get really into games like that, it’s probably weird. Hah, I ruminated long and hard about the chip, since there could well be some double-fuckery just to one-up Jensen. The noodle factory was the shortest thing, but I guess it wasn’t even a paid DLC, just some free bonus thing for some preorder tier or watever. I understand that, but I usually need that reload anyway to give myself time to think and look at the consequences to be able to extrapolate the way the story is going from there, and make sure I'm ok with it going there. I don't do this to avoid mistakes but to convince myself this feels right. Funny you'd mention Boone dying, this is a perfect thing to illustrate my point. This could be made into a meaningful event, especially late in the game, but do I really want my dear courier to very loudly announce "well, fuck that", finally deciding that it's not worth it to hold on to any principle and in the end get so entrenched in her more and more callous mind games with her surroundings there'd be no way back? (Mind you, this would actually have nothing to do with vengeance or anything. It's the way the character processes stuff) I kinda love her too much for that and can't have her stark mad. Guess it's easier with multiple protags, though Still feel weird for getting into games?
Yeah, I'd probably save Pritchard too anyway. But I'd still be too curious not to reload immediately. I have restraint, but not that much It's obvious double-fuckery, unless I'm totally and shamefully mistaken. But till it proves right I maintain nothing good comes from a chip manufactured by someone with Illuminati ties who just happens to want to rule the world (btw, I was vaguely briefed how the kill switch dragon queen association came to be, so I'm suspecting something) Compared with the noodle factory the mising link took eternity, though

But whether he'd take Liam's little storage room is quite another question Yeahh right, Reyes working at Ryder’s cabin, with the tattle-tale robot station right there next to the computer terminal. I don’t think so. Anyhow Drack should conquer the sofa Liam has in the storage room, is not like he sleeps on it, whereas Drack is forced to sleep in the kitchen, which is probably unsanitary and also no way to treat an elderly squad member. But all this makes me think is how badly designed the Tempest is. Ryder’s gigantic cabin without personal toilet/shower is the worst part. Hmm, why am I suddenly imagining Reyes flank-attacking people with potted plants? Anyway, darts need to be shot from something. Ideas? I can't help but think gas grenades are impratical, though. You never know where you end up. Maybe he could sport one of those tiny spy guns. The smoke grenades that Cerberus had in ME3 worked well enough, add poison damage to that. ME doesn’t have friendly fire anyway. For darts, that wrist thingy that the Zaeed guy in multiplayer had. Potted plants are a good idea too, and reminds me that I really didn’t catch on to the method of biotically lifting crap up and hurling it at enemies although the combat trailer showed that being a feasible strategy. Sniper Guy, we have her) Nope, the quest giver is gone once the Outcasts are purged. A lot of the quests are urgent, but the time itself is in a weird fugue state in Andromeda, meaning that spans of time mean nothing and the entire game could be weeks, or months, or closer to a year, nobody knows. Maybe. Times quests should IMO never get implemented without a damn good reason. I hate doing something fun, then suddenly getting roped to a throw-away side quest that I don’t care about right now because I had a specific plan for tonight’s play session, but it’s timed and I need do it now or three orphans will die, and GAH! The whole game would need to be structured different, IMO. Anyway we don’t know that Remi is in dire danger of being cannibalized. The badlands are full of exiles, she’s different only because of Sloane’s fucked up standards. Remi might just as well be chilling with one of the chill Turians. (Concept: a colony of chill Turians, on Kadara. Reyes is forbidden from fucking with them, because they’re cool and chill. ) Well, if he hasn't he should be starting to think of some since he's aiming to become a boss level type. Surrender would buy him time, during which plans could unfurl... (Burke was just a regular guy, what could’ve he brought to a boss fight?)It would be tacit understanding between Keema and Reyes, I believe. She’d know that Reyes doesn’t trust her fully, but she’d accept that, since she’s not a member of the Collective and she knows how it is. Trying to rock the boat would be a dangerous proposition for her. I think she’d leave it to gentle teasing, and not attempt seriously to gain access. That would surely be fun enough. However, if she accidentally just so happened to find the address on a computer terminal, she’d surely take advantage. Heehee, what do you think Reyes would’ve sent as a gift to Keema? I should listen to French Vetra some time, she really seems to make an impression But think of the irony of the exile port with the highest concentration of bars in the Heleus cluster besieged by forces of evil who confused it with some other colony. Forces of evil usually leave these places alone You should. I don’t know, Kadara is one of the more prosperous cities in the cluster, isn’t it? There’s no sense of infrastructure to the cluster, but we can probs assume that occupying Kadara would send ripples throughout Heleus. Hm, no comment. Either you didn’t catch it or felt it was beneath your notice. I must admit I didn't catch it. I'm still sure I'm missing something. Please elaborate, unless it ruins the point? It was just a certain specific quote, irresistible after your quip about hiding behind monitors… But why wouldn't Reyes succeed with the plan? Ryder is a pretty useless observer during High noon unless they decide to intervene. Without them Reyes would just be free of one variable in his coup scheme where shit can go down at every turn anyway. Since Reyes' original plan didn't count with Ryder on the scene, their integrality is only in the diplomatic connection, which they would provide either way. Maybe he would, I'd just like there being variance for player agency reasons and to add flavor to different paths. Lore-wise, it’s more about the whole picture, with High Noon being the cherry on the top of long machinations (“death by thousand cuts” and then the “you used me” line by Ryder, since they were used in administering those cuts). Reyes becoming buddy-buddy with the Pathfinder helped him accomplish the preliminary goals before he could embark on attacking Sloane herself. Gameplay-wise, there should be variance to show that the player’s actions have consequences. If Ryder didn’t mean shit to the plan, Reyes wouldn’t even need to cozy up to them. The writers could figure out a way how it would affect Reyes’ plan if e.g. the Roekaar were still there and if the slum residents believed that the Collective was behind the murders e.g. more dead people during the coup, stuff like that. Reyes’ existence doesn’t hinge on our player character, but Ryder is still important to him. As for High Noon, Ryder wasn’t supposed to be there, but they were supposed to be buddies or at least acquaintances with Reyes at that point. I still maintain that Reyes would’ve revealed himself eventually after the coup, by his own terms, and therefore still trusted in Ryder’s and therefore the AI’s support and mutual alliance afterwards. This trust would've made him all the more sure that the time was right for his coup.

Yeahh right, Reyes working at Ryder’s cabin, with the tattle-tale robot station right there next to the computer terminal. Hopefully there's even enough space for him to stash the necessary equipment on the Tempest. The ship is pretty crowded with just Ryder and team. Therevs a chance Liam's storage room would have to do. Or maybe he'd set up in Jaal's quarters, aka the research center of what exactly it is? That seems fitting, Jaal or no Jaal. Or he could find a bit of space in the Nomad room, I guess. Huh, you're right about Drack, actually. Krogans need to sleep, right? Where does he sleep? On the counter? Under the table? Strapped to the ceiling? (Alternatively he could just hang a hammock somewhere, that would be a somewhat cute sight) Or maybe the cot with the Plants vs. Zombies plushies atually belongs to him? Personal bathroom seems like too much of a luxury, though, even when the Tempest and some of its waste of space is concerned. The smoke grenades were annoying af, as well as the cloaking thing the kett do (that would also be a nice trick for Reyes to pick up, or generally any kind of concealing tech). I can't imagine a squadmate using them in a way that wouldn't make me constantly look for a non-existent tactics button to turn the damn ability off. Hmm a wrist thingy... seems useful, but I don't know the Zaeed guy. Hehe, potted plants as a surprise attack (or the last line of defense), that would be new. Maybe it's some sort of pull/throw thing? It's never worked for me, but I mostly stick to pull, throw, charge, nova and sword. Throwing boxes at people is funny, but I think Ryder is the type to enjoy throwing people. Nope, the quest giver is gone once the Outcasts are purged. Reyes is forbidden from fucking with them, because they’re cool and chill. ) Sure, but you can go around some of the urgency, ignore them and come later or the like. Remi is the last one left in the cage, which means that unless a regular cannibal would consider her the kind of food you don't touch unless you're in danger of starving to death, or the gang only ate humans for a Sunday lunch, she wouldn't have lasted very long. (Hehe, the Turian thing would make a nice explanation to where people disappear. "No, she wasn't eaten in a gruesome cannibal shack, she's chilling with the Turians") Yay for chill Turian colony. I want to see that. A bunch of chill Turians on a quest for their own chill outpost-state, what's not to love. (they could have a spa, lol) But I think Reyes would have no problems maintaining good relations with the chill Turians, maybe he'd even be seen doing business with them, supporting their moonshine enterprises and educated literary meetings, that kind of stuff So true about the orphans, but occasionally it makes for good RP moments. One can't be so hung up on plans when the games keep coming with something unexpected, anyway. (and that's why I always prefer second pts. That's the time for stuff finally going according to plan). I'm not saying the Remi quest should be timed (especially not with a timer), but maybe it could count as failed after High noon or something, a bit as the little quests in ME3, which simply disappeared at some point. Yeah, it definitely seems like a good strategy, but his opponent (or whoever gave them the order) would have to be pretty dumb not no anticipate it. But maybe he'd just wait for Ryder to ally with Mr. Sniper Guy and come to save him, all cool and chill. Hopefully the Collective wouldn't crumble with no leadership in the meantime. Reyes really should have a plan for a case when he were indisposed, just saying. Innocent-looking Keema crashing Reyes' secret boss lair, now that would be something. But I think that would be a dangerous game for her, not just a tease about it here and there. As for how much they trust each other, though, I'm still wary of the way Reyes calls her a friend. That seems unlike him and if Keema can really read him so well,, she should know. On the other hand she seems pretty sure of herself when she has her butt on the throne. The leevl of trust between them is never really explained, but that can probably be expected of a pair of shady individuals like them. Something to give her an edge she could use and doesn't actually give her too much firepower? Secrets, perhaps? Or maybe something more mundane like the cigars. She's the only angara seen with one, after all. Alternatively, Reyes dealt with her personally so there's a chance he considers that show of favor enough Ryder also never gets a different sign of Charlatan's interest than the pleasure of his company (and an occasional quest, yeah) You should. I don’t know, Kadara is one of the more prosperous cities in the cluster, isn’t it? There’s no sense of infrastructure to the cluster, but we can probs assume that occupying Kadara would send ripples throughout Heleus. Yeah, but so would taking Eos, attacking Aya or flying away with the Nexus. If Kadara was attacked, I think Ryder would have a tough time getting people to care at all, unless the relationship between the port and the AI/ angara government gets real swell, I'd expect the leaders to go "nope, don't care" It was just a certain specific quote, irresistible after your quip about hiding behind monitors… Ah, I get it now. But I still think the main problem would be that he'd be bored, being no hacker type with barely any hacker interests. The "you used me" line is just Ryder overreacting They agreed to those jobs, didn't they. I think using Ryder was just for convenience and to establish a useful acquaitance. Reyes could have done it on his own with no pathfinder help. He never really needs Ryder, but having Ryder makes everything easier for sure. I don't think Reyes would get all friendly with the Pathfinder is he didn't like them, important or not. But good point about the quests being left unfinished, I didn't consider that option. But getting rid of the Roekaar seems like an essential thing to do before the coup, so maybe Reyes would have some of his agents do it, or even find a way do it himself. Ryder is a good choice to present a neat solution and clear the Collective of the charges and keep the Collective out of the spotlight, but a well-placed rumor about the Charlatan's people shutting the Roekaar down might also be convenient. I wonder what would happen if the Zia quest wen ignored, though. it would be bad if she, say, realized how things are and let it slip somewhere around some angry outcasts Sure, it would be pretty hard to do otherwise. There'd be no need for Ryder to trust a word from a leader that just crawled out of somewhere, took over and now he wants something. That would be dumb of Reyes to risk, when he can make the offer personally. Bring it on. (It… it isn’t the seal, is it? )Oh, it will come when you least expect it *ominous background music* Heeehee, I never thought I'd threaten someone with a cute innocent little cartoon seal. But no, it won't be the seal, that would be way too predictable. Recently I've found something much worse.
Thank you so much. I fell in love with the tiny brown kitten too, it fits so well like it was always meant to sit on Adam's leg lol. I had stupid amount of trouble trying to make the kittens’ colors fit and eventually gave up, but the brown one was really good to begin with. Here’s a before-after comparison, if you’re curious: Also, cat launcher? Is that like the pig launcher from District 9? How could you come up with such a thing? Just look at the little fluffies. Btw even when Jensen does go lethal, his character... wait, no, this also requires end game knowledge, dammit. I gotta try to remember it for later. As for Pritchard and hugging, not as such. Once Adam has escaped, Yeah, the brown kitty simply fits. Must've been Jensen's first kitty of choice from the basket (hehe, hopefully Pritchard has a different taste in cats, otherwise a fight could ensue ). Let's hope it likes ocelots. Btw the added fluffy kitty on the table fits really well too. Seems like it's guarding Jensen's bottle of whiskey against all offenders. Nope, a cat launchar from one silly cartoon scene I've never been able to forget despite seeing it once, and the second time when I posted it here ages ago, the vid with a cat named Paul. The guy in it has a cat launcher. Not saying I'd have the heart to use it, though. Lol, Jensen is the one to talk about someone never being satisfied On the other hand, would you really expect Pritchard to just up and hug someone, unless he's on something real powerful?
Choose Thane, what for the vents? No, I only sent unqualified people if I wanted them dead and I never had a reason to off Thane. Jacob since he kept asking to commit suicide, unloyal Tali for drama, unloyal Legion for feels... I don’t think Thane ever died on me, which is fine enough, since he got a good death in ME3. Pritchard with a hurt look? That's a sad thing to imagine, since he’s so sure of himself that it must be a true rarity to see. Surely that would break Jensen’s heart. But are you sure Pritchard wouldn’t just complain endlessly? Hm, true, four kittens. Okay. That’s Jensen's kittens (the tiny brown one on his lap and the tux on the table) and Pritchard’s kittens (the two orange tuxedos who look similar and are obviously brothers and who therefore couldn’t be separated, so he had to take both), which are visiting on a kitty play date. Anyway, how it works now, Pritchard's orange kittens are watching the movement on the TV screen, while the brown kittens (Jensen’s) have spotted something live in the corner. It’s thematic~ Well Adam’s first dream about Megan was about them having sex, soo… Luckily though Adam seems like he… well, we’ll get back to it. (Where are you now in the game? ) Yes it is, that’s how Adam meets the Collective, and Black Light goes more into how they [redacted] after [redacted], and then in MD that table is set. I wonder how MD looks like to people who read the book first, but I don’t know if there are any. I guess some things would make more sense, but if the reader was like me they’d just dis the Collective from the start. Nope, choose between Thane and the kittens of course. the original dilemma Jacob's the the prime candidate for the vents since his involvement in ME3 is something I'd be better off without )seriously, I don't give a shit about him in ME2, but in that mission I get to a point when I need to bash his head against the harders thing in the room, but usually I have everyone survive. I don't know if sad's the word, I just imagine him like a petulant five year old, holding his kitten and feeling misunderstood Depends on whether he'd understand the necessity or not, I guess. He might nag about it a bit afterwards, but surely he wouldn't watch a hundred kitten getting kicked in his stead Oh, you've got it all figured out I see. But if it's a play date, where's Pritchard? Shouldn't he be drinking next to Jensen and talking about what stuff Orange 1 toppled last week? Or did he just let the kittens to visit on their own and will come get them at six? Something live, though? Like there are rats in Jensen's top notch apartment? Err, what dream? He has dreams about Megan somewhere further on? That's fucked up. I just thought he was thinking of her since her name was the first he said in the Missing link. I'm crawling all over the Omega ranch, talking to scientists and the like. I'll finish the game next week, I hope, so I can start MD during the holiday (it's very Christmassy, wouldn't you say? ) I think the people who read the book first have a clue wtf's going on and that's always useful I'll have to make do with your info, though, I don't think I'll get to reading it. Too bad Quinn won't be in MD, I kinda liked him. Nah, rescue crew won’t do either. If neither of those three can’t get him down, they’ll just have to let him rot there until he calms down and makes his own way down. Sure it was worse, but still, now you’re rolling with it. I don’t think the helicopter can be flown that close to an antenna, it would be a mini-Hindenburg disaster lol. Maybe if all three went up at once. They're professionals, damn it, they should get him down whether he wants to or not I think that Sarif would get too fidgety just waiting for his asset to come down on his own. It might be a rough time for everyone. Raising my tolerance and all Maybe you're right, and losing Malik, Pritchard and Jensen (and an expensive helicopter) is something to ruin one's evening.. But perhaps Malik could get up the antenna easier than Pritchard or Sarif. She seems to know her way around. Synchronized jumping is always adorable when a group of kitties get startled. :3 Not sure a crab or whatever that thing was would be enough to spook Adam tho. You just keep getting worse, now you’re willing to stage poor, unhappy Pritchard for Jensen’s misdeeds. You never know, it's a reflex. And who's to say if his perfect gene setup prevents phobias? If Pritchard gets insufferable enough, maybe it's time for a little payback. He'd probably just get a stern look from Sarif anyway, since he's not in habit of scratching company property. I still think Adam's too wise to fall for that. Would you be dared into competing with someone that’s an expert on whatever you’re competing about? I don’t think Pritchard wouldn’t challenge Jensen either, since he’s contemptuous enough to get territorial when Jensen as much as reveals that he knows what a CPU is – he thinks Jensen is utterly worthless. Yeah, I’m taking it all back, there’s no room for bonding over this, Pritchard is too much of an asshole with a superiority complex. Alas. All that hacking tree training, for nothing. Good point, probably not. But if I were drunk and would just go for it level-headedly to annoy them, maybe. But my mindset is pretty far from Jensen's I think Pritchard could challenge him though, if he thought Jensen gloated too much about his hacking accomplishments. Fits the territorial angle alright (but if that were the case, I think that Jensen would just say no). I wonder if some of Pritchard's hacker friends are actually better than him. It's not for nothing, you can read all Pritchard's e-mails with it. Would he still think Jensen is worthless when he quoted the Picus (I still see it, and can't unsee it, regardless of frequency of use ) lady's commentary on his script. Makes sense, but I have to nitpick “sanitized,” because that implies that he was meant to be something else but was toned down, rather than him being exactly as intended. A funny jokes-man character (like your Bard going “did it get hot in here??” when a woman appears) wouldn’t really fit the story they were constructing. It’s not that the character was changed to be boring or bland, but rather that he’s intentionally laconic and withdrawn. It's really integral to his whole character and story-arc. That wasn’t the brightest line, but I dunno what he could’ve said to Keitner, since he wasn’t equipped to save her. He probably doesn’t have enough of bedside manners to console her convincingly and he can’t just stay mute either, so he lamely offers a practical solution even though it can’t be done. It’s not a dashingly brilliant line, but the character isn’t dashingly brilliant (personally I find it endearing). Prey has an asshole protag that is very hard to unpack without gigantic spoilers to someone who hasn’t played a good deal of it. Graphics-wise the game looks like it sits on the fence of whether or not it’s worth playing. I’m not big on fantasy though, is there some special draw to this game? Oh, I didn't mean to imply all protags should be alike or anything. They are whatever fits the story and as long as it works, it's fine (like Corvo, for example. He's a man in his place). In Jensen's case I'd still say that a little bit more cynicism and a bit less righteousness or whatever it is would look better, but maybe it's just my way of seeing things. (Btw, looking for Zhao pics, I found Jensen's character description. Cynical was one of his traits. He just seems to have more of a tired ex-cop thing going, than really not giving a fuck). Agreed, the Valkyrie thing isn't among Bard's brightest lines, but I chose it because I love the interaction with the Viking and frankly I haven't played it for a few years so I didn't remember her. I don't know what to say to someone who is full of bullet holes either, since that's where no talk is necessary anymore, but the medic thing almost sounded like mockery to me. They both know there's no medic to go to, so he's offering a solution that's inapplicable, which is either very callous (and not really a Jensen thing unless you're Fedorova) or extremely dumb. It's fine and proven several times over he's no Mensa material, but there's a line between that and sounding utterly out of place. Ooo, the Prey protag sounds interesting. Well, it's an old game and as I said, it's not even playable unless you have something with old graphics. It becomes a bitch to play, if it can even be launched at all, which gave me problems when I played it first and that's been quite some time. Not only it didn't age well, it died altogether. It's not pure fantasy, more like fairy tale/mythology. It's set in Orkey islands, has Vikings and the like. Hmm, draw? It's a bit metafictional wild Orkney style thing that pokes sometimes quite harsh fun at every fairy tale/bad fantasy/ RPG mechanics cliché out there, which of course is something that may do it for you or it may not. And the twist in the end is hilarious. That doesn’t happen to me often, but sometimes I have to reload and choose another path when a thing just won’t stop nagging at me. Mostly it’s a case of the PC acting in a way that I didn’t intend, as opposed to me making a choice in an exact way I wanted and that resulting in bad things (that I better live with). I can’t really recall the last time that happened though. Games with a dialogue system that gives only an implication of what the char will say are another deal of course. I think it's very similar. If it nags, it has to be done in a different way, nothing more to that Happened to me with a lot of choices in HR, but the problem with some of the quests in Hr is that every choice feels somewhat weird. The dialogue system is a pain, yep. I usually end up reloading like crazy because how can I know which answer fits if I can't see them? They should at least add a tone to it or something like DA2. DA2 was pretty clear about what to expect from the line. No see, the obvious fuckery is the chip being bad news, the double-fuckery would be it being a good thing to get after all (for whatever reason). It’s all about just how much tinfoil should Jensen be wrapping around his head. Wait, briefed? Missing Link dragged on my second pt, agreed. I’m still glad I managed to save both the prisoners and the scientist this time. Yeah, I though about it too, for like half a minute. Then I settled for the opinion that I'm taking nothing from TYM even if it should be the death of Jensen. Yeah, I may have some informants, like those who first got me to play it and still wait for what I'll say to the ending. I managed the first time, after two hours of running around, half of the time knowing the vent is the answer, but unwilling to spend those two praxis points on the jump ehnancement, after I finally gave up after several attempts to drag all manner of objects through the vent. It' funny you can to it. Quinn is all ominous about the choice and there's Jensen like

Looking at the picture of the whole Kadara map from Zitrus ’ calendar, who the hell (in-universe) decided to found the Port in that terrible scraggly terrain? I’d say that it was founded very recently and in an inhospitable location in order to hide it from the Kett, but the Kett got it anyway. If I was Ryder, I’d just found the Outpost near the shoreline even after getting green light from Reyes/Sloane. The shuttle ride would still be just an hour at most if you needed coordinate something with the Port leaders. There’s an entire planet, use it. Even ME3 managed to have multiple locations per planet (tuchanka at least, aka the best arc in that game). As an anti-fun order freak, I hate how the non-planned squaddies just take over whatever corner they please. Really, just portion Ryder’s extravagant cabin for more bunk beds, or set up more bunk beds in the apparently otherwise unused room Liam houses his home theater in (its original purpose? who knows). Ryder really doesn’t need a double-bed either. No, not even for the sex scenes, because those could be made (and more intimately even) with a bunk bed in tight quarters too. Maybe it's some sort of pull/throw thing? It's never worked for me, but I mostly stick to pull, throw, charge, nova and sword. Throwing boxes at people is funny, but I think Ryder is the type to enjoy throwing people. Indeed, but my attempts with the explosive canisters didn’t really work. But I’m sensing a theme with you and throwing boxes at people. Yay for chill Turian colony. I want to see that. A bunch of chill Turians on a quest for their own chill outpost-state, what's not to love. (they could have a spa, lol) But I think Reyes would have no problems maintaining good relations with the chill Turians, maybe he'd even be seen doing business with them, supporting their moonshine enterprises and educated literary meetings, that kind of stuff I'm not saying the Remi quest should be timed (especially not with a timer), but maybe it could count as failed after High noon or something, a bit as the little quests in ME3, which simply disappeared at some point. I’m down for a Turian spa. Sounds amazing, and they could utilize the natural hot springs. A natural progression for the moonshine Turian next to the Outpost. Failing Remi’s quest like that would mean cutting out alternative content, which is an unforgivable sin, especially for good content. The pro-Collective solution is well done, and there are painfully few things that illustrate that your choice has had an effect. (Of course, if you go Sloane, it’s negligible how much of an effect you did make for the average populace.) Ryder also never gets a different sign of Charlatan's interest than the pleasure of his company (and an occasional quest, yeah) Good point, but such a sign might more liable to alarm the Pathfinder/the Nexus. Getting the Charlatan’s attention is probably as unnerving as it’s pleasant… Hm, imagine someone getting a gift and a frisson to go with it. (And then the Charlatan is just the smug smuggler from the near-by bar lol.) Ah, I get it now. But I still think the main problem would be that he'd be bored, being no hacker type with barely any hacker interests. True, but I couldn’t resist. Reyes is probably conflicted, somewhat. On the other hand he is very careful and avoids any slip-ups, but on the other hand he likes to go on missions and do the big show-off stuff in the flesh. He’d go mad if he had to sit on that Shadow Broker ship in the perpetual storm. I don't think Reyes would get all friendly with the Pathfinder is he didn't like them, important or not. [--] I wonder what would happen if the Zia quest wen ignored, though. it would be bad if she, say, realized how things are and let it slip somewhere around some angry outcasts But doesn’t he? If Ryder takes all the asshole options from punching him to agreeing with Zia that Reyes is friendless for a reason, he still tries. At that point, it’s probably just for business reasons, but yet he does it. And if a cold Ryder chooses him, he still offers the handshake anyway with the “Friends?” proffer, doesn’t he? Just for show, maybe, or maybe he does want a friend even if Ryder’s an ass. (Poor Reyes, in that case.) You mean if Zia realized Reyes is the Charlatan? I don’t know if she’d be able to find out, unless she still has a key to Reyes’ home or something. I think it would be more likely that the loose coalition of non-Outcast smugglers might end up spelling trouble. Reyes can’t have the Collective eliminate them, because people could tell/guess that such a big house-cleaning would have been done by either the Outcasts or the Collective. And if the only thing those people had in common was the hatred of Reyes, it would put a spotlight on him. Getting Ryder help with the killing by intentionally walking into the trap would however be a very neat way of handling things. And if he suspected nothing, then it was just dumb luck.

Yes, it's a pity you can almost never say that you don't like SAM being inside your head. I only remember when Drack joins up you can say you don't like it but it is how it is, something like that. I wonder how many actual Reyeses (lol) read along. Probably 0. Well, it's already both so maybe it'll just be more popular. Maybe Sloane is also a regular first name in ME times. I think every first name can be a last name and perhaps lots of last names will evolve into first names and everybody will be confused, or not. (And what the vault reset does to them)If there are, worst case they die out because the pH-value is all wrong and they cannot cope with it and because they are the prey of others those die as well. Same with the plant eaters and their predators because the plants require toxic water and we'll have a lifeless planet until something else evolves. How sad, so let's hope they have a tolerance level and can live on. Alternatively, though, he might prove very resistant, in a favorite uncle way so he'd always get away with everything I don't know, sometimes it seems so. Such trivial tasks should get filtered out. I peeked at one spoiler and there's stuff about SAM and Alec and of course Cora in the new book. Maybe it'll answer some of those questions. Hmm, even more things to read but Mr Jensen comes first. I have the feeling this is going to be the case despite Reyes' best efforts lol. There's no stopping him if he's the uncle. My first thought was blowpipes enhanced with mass effect field stuff to go through armour. However, could be impratical unless you're cloaked, depends on the range. A wrist-mounted crossbow might be better. Hm true, there's no friendly fire. Everybody on the squad would be forced to wear a helmet with a special filter if there was. This poison is said to be very potent after all. Yeahh right, Reyes working at Ryder’s cabin, with the tattle-tale robot station right there next to the computer terminal. Well, he chose the kitchen himself, it's his own fault lol. They could have included those pods they had on Normandy. Just to make it seem like there's a place to sleep for everyone. More than one toilet would have been smart, too. The shuttle ride would still be just an hour at most if you needed coordinate something with the Port leaders. There’s an entire planet, use it. Even ME3 managed to have multiple locations per planet (tuchanka at least, aka the best arc in that game). It's up so high, it's like a natural fortress. The kett probably played a role in the choice and perhaps also the predators and all the acid lakes. Thumbs up for Tuchanka. But doesn’t he? If Ryder takes all the asshole options from punching him to agreeing with Zia that Reyes is friendless for a reason, he still tries. At that point, it’s probably just for business reasons, but yet he does it. And if a cold Ryder chooses him, he still offers the handshake anyway with the “Friends?” proffer, doesn’t he? Just for show, maybe, or maybe he does want a friend even if Ryder’s an ass. (Poor Reyes, in that case.) Yes, he always offers the handshake because as he says they are partners now. And if Ryder declines, he says they're kind of a dick but he worked with worse. And then nothing changes, the email is the same and all. And I don't know why I never looked for it but the whiskey Reyes has to endure when he's not sipping the good stuff. Synthetically aged for, eh can't read. Everlast, lasts forever, huh? Maybe, but I also hope they have a clear plan, regardless of how loose, in place. Otherwise it’s the ME-OT situation. Janus and his identity frankly isn’t particularly interesting (I think I have a really good guess) Is it the one who is also suspected on the wiki? and I hope they tie that side-plot up pretty quick in the next game and concentrate on the meatier conspiracy stuff again. In my fantasy scenario we’d get two more Jensen games, and then one more game with a new protag to bridge things into DX1 ( and also a TV miniseries encompassing HR and Black Light events with Toufexis reprising his role). At least one more game with him should definitely be done. Heh, wouldn't that be nice with the show. Too bad it's very unlikely. Depends on who it was. I hope he isn’t bothered by random people being inattentive towards him, since because of his behavior I assume there are a lot of them at the SI. Poor Frank, he needs a hug (have to you got to that line in Black Light yet?)No, random people's behaviour is nothing he cares about I think but the Nuclear Snake fans reactions for example could be somewhat important to him. I'm not there yet but I finally started reading it and looked at the tiny spoiler. How very Pritchard . And here is the collection of his comic involvement: imgur.com/a/eO2v6Also guys, after having my brain come up with the idea earlier in this thread, I couldn’t help but go for it, and take this concept art… Yay, the kitties. I was hoping you'd do that after you already gave Reyes the rabbit. Ah, but at least a sequel to MD was planned? I don't remember it being marketed like that but internally, since they cut stuff, at some point they must have decided that MD is number 2 of 3 (or more). Can't leave it unfinished like this now. I mean they can but please don't. I will never stop gushing over Prey. It’s an immersive sim and not an RPG however and the protag is silent, so it might not interest you. The PC is build both via narrative and the actions you can take. It’s from the same people that made Dishonored, so if that sort of thing and strong stories interest you, I can definitely recommend it. I finally played the Prey demo last weekend, it was good so far. Gave me Bioshock vibes (I never played the System Shocks). Of course the story progession had to stop when fat bro cut off the explanation. There are nice references, the office door code, the Looking Glass technology. Very subtle . I like all the little details and things you can easily miss. But the game gives out at least the first sentence of almost every line Adam says, no? I find it vastly superior to the model of only giving a vague mood hint. I can’t remember any instances where what I chose was in conflict what he said out loud, at most maybe some minor stuff like I’d prefer he word something slightly differently. Yes I agree, I almost never had to wonder what Adam was going to say. Actually, I'm kinda hungry now, thanks Hawke^^.

The kett probably played a role in the choice and perhaps also the predators and all the acid lakes. Thumbs up for Tuchanka. I agree with the natural fortress. Defenses are always useful and besides it has a good view and works with mountain metaphors. What's not to love As for the outpost, maybe this was just the first one and more would be made in time, in various locations of the planet? (Might've been an interesting thing to do in a DLC, taking a lookat another egion of one of the planets and maye found a place for an addittional outpost) As an anti-fun order freak, I hate how the non-planned squaddies just take over whatever corner they please. Yeah, it's kinda chaotic. But if they're fine living weherever.... at least they can't complain their quarters are substandard if it was they who made the choice. Less bullshit for Ryder to deal with. As for the bed, well, I suppose it worked in ME1 (but I don't know, I'm fine with waiting till the next part) even though Shepard had this little cramped cabin. But on the other hand the double bed looks comfortable. Indeed, but my attempts with the explosive canisters didn’t really work. But I’m sensing a theme with you and throwing boxes at people. The explosive canisters made fun additional chaos when they randomly detonated after a combo, I never found another use for them. Maybe the throwing mechanics was scrapped at some point? Heheee, a theme? Well... it just may be... although it's not just boxes but all kinds of stuff. Still, it's just the second in line after attempting to jump on people's heads. (Of course, if you go Sloane, it’s negligible how much of an effect you did make for the average populace.) Turian or not, Kadara seems like the place for a spa. Bandits and relaxation. A frontier holiday destination indeed. I thought the natural progression would be a bar or something, and as the next level a bar empire, or becoming the go-to Heleus hooch supplier, but why not, really. The crafty moonshine Turian is free to expand his business anywhere he pleases Alternative content as in the Collective outcome? (just for clarification) Maybe, but it would go well with the ignorance thing we discussed before, although I agree this mechanic can get quite stressful and this is a fine way to wrap up a quest you got from a faction that's no longer in business. I don't suppose this happens with other quests since they're not Outcast/Collective bound? Btw I actually liked the talk on Kadara after High noon, even though Ryder didn't feel any of the impact personally (they may be a bit too detached from the events in the Port, after all. They still have little to no word in there no matter what happens, so the real consequences fall on the leader) Good point, but such a sign might more liable to alarm the Pathfinder/the Nexus. Getting the Charlatan’s attention is probably as unnerving as it’s pleasant… Hm, imagine someone getting a gift and a frisson to go with it. (And then the Charlatan is just the smug smuggler from the near-by bar lol.) The trick is that Ryder never knew they had the Charlatan's atention till he suddenly revealed himself.. and that's being shady at it's finest If the same happned to Keema and could happen the same way to anyone else who'd be worthy of persnal acquitance in the future. Maybe it's getting the non-personal attention that's really unnerving and I'd say even that depends on whether you'd be comfortable with such an alliance. The doc in the slums obviously isn't, but it doesn't have to be the norm, some might be aiming for it or be flattered by it. (Btw, gues who steals the doctor? Ryderrr! I really don't know how Reyes overlooks their casual ruining any venture of his they come across. ) Heeehee, smug smuggler. But he's obviously not just a smuggler when he runs his little outlaw operation. Realizing this, one may get some new respect for him after the shock is gone. Definitely. He'd probably start bouncing off the walls after some time. All time shady leader role doesn't seem to fit him so well. I'd almost expect him to get bored of it if it gets too constraining. And that's why I'd love to see what his solution to it would be in a sequel. Would he behave practically and get his ass out of the danger or would he just play an unassuming smuggler till something went to shit horribly? But doesn’t he? If Ryder takes all the asshole options from punching him to agreeing with Zia that Reyes is friendless for a reason, he still tries. At that point, it’s probably just for business reasons, but yet he does it. And if a cold Ryder chooses him, he still offers the handshake anyway with the “Friends?” proffer, doesn’t he? Just for show, maybe, or maybe he does want a friend even if Ryder’s an ass. True, I've somehow forgotten about that. I guess I was more focused on Reyes befriending the Pathfinder rather than just finding a away to work with them. For the friends thing, he wants the alliance and it would be easier for everyone if they were on good terms, but it could actually be a bit more of a formal thing than a friendly gesture. As Zitrus points out, he can call Ryder a dick if they refuse, which one could even read as a sign he's not that much into Ryder if they'd been an asshole to him, but he only admits it when Ryder refuses to play nice no matter what. Agreeing with Zia is still quite a tempting option, although a totally assholish one I was just trying to find something that could lead to complications if you didn't do the Zia quest. She's not that relevant for the fate of the Port, after all But who knows, maybe the smugglers would end up joining the Charlatan at some point, nowing nothing about the irony of it? Hmm, good point abou the trap, that never occurred to me. Another thing Ryder should have asked Reyes at some point. Might've been Reyes' luck stat at work, though. She's not that relevant for the fate of the Port, after all But who knows, maybe the smugglers would end up joining the Charlatan at some point, knowing nothing about the irony of it? Hmm, good point about the trap, that never occurred to me. Another thing Ryder should have asked Reyes about at some point. Sure, and none really complained, but if some happen to it in the future, I'm out of the hook and that's the point. That's a sound assumption, even though it would be mor like the last names coming from first names evolving once again into them. I don't really think this can be done with every single surname out there. Yeah, ME times will be chaotic when it comes to names. I just imagined Sloane fuming over being forced to explain for the 100th time which of her names is which. At least Reyes would probably be relaxed about it. As foor the line you deleted, the people at your work are plain rude I don't know, sometimes it seems so. Yeah, but does it? I have a feeling that in a very short time the SAM node will be overflowing with so much useless stuff nobody will be able to find anything in it Well, if you happen to look into the book, report your findings. That's the danger about having a favorite uncle in your inner circle. When he gets tactless, what can you do about him? That was a bit of a foolish risk for Reyes to take. Let's hope he's a great shot and otherwise dependable, at least My first thought was blowpipes enhanced with mass effect field stuff to go through armour. However, could be impratical unless you're cloaked, depends on the range. A wrist-mounted crowssbow might be better. Hm true, there's no friendly fire. Everybody on the squad would be forced to wear a helmet with a special filter if there was. This poison is said to be very potent after all. Hehe, I though of blowpipes too bu Reyes with a blowpipe looks quite silly. Everything wrks better when you're cloaked, though. he definitely needs cloaking tech. It's even already a skill, thus easy to implement. They'd be thrilled about that no doubt. All their sexy factor gone because Reyes likes to play with his toxic little plants And I don't know why I never looked for it but the whiskey Reyes has to endure when he's not sipping the good stuff. Synthetically aged for, eh can't read. Everlast, lasts forever, huh? Synthetically aged! Poor Reyes, the hardships he must endure. Bet his real reason to become the Charlatan was that he wanted to get to the good stuff Makes me wonder how much whiskey was taken to Andromeda, though. Seems like quite an amount, no wonder everyone could only take a few pieces of underwear when all space was taken up by alcohol. Preferences, I guess.... You do realize you’ve only aroused my curiosity with that, right? Now I may just get mischievous out of inquisitiveness. Oh, feel free to, I may or may not be curious what you come up with, but you do realize you might just be walking into a trap, right? I meant the title cutscene sequence in HR. When he’s in surgery and there are the little flashbacks to Megan moaning and saying “I love you” and also “I’m sorry.” I assumed that was a dream, or some hallucinated state while still half-under. As for Missing Link, I thought he might have dreamt about her again, sort of recurrent thing. Very Christmassy indeed, I’m jealous of you getting to play through fresh DX material. Quinn appears in Black Light. It made me dislike him though. Not that he was badly written, I just didn’t like what he did, which is fair enough since it would stupid if the Juggernaut Collective were some unambiguously good guys. Tell me if you at some point want a quick run-down of the novel’s events, during or after your MD pt. Ah, I either didn't notice it or didn't realize (or care) what was actually happening in the scene. Good for me, I guess, this would've only been annoying. Now, recurrent dreams about Megan would be pretty pathetic. Yeah, she's dead and maybe she's not that dead, but it's nothing to lose one's shit about. Well, I'm finishing HR when I'm done with this post. The final battle has been pretty wtf so far. I'd love a bit more explanation to this Hyron thingy. It has suffering females in suits inside isn't really ideal, though it's creepy. That's too bad. He had a few interesting moments. ( I also liked Keitner. And then she died. Booo.) They were supposed to be the good guys? Like the Robin Hood of DX? Seems dubious from the start. Surely ther must've been a catch somewhere. Ok, thanks. I'll see how things look when I get there. Maybe I'll be too distracted by alleged writings on the wall that say random stuff like "potato" and wondering about why not a single person added diacritics to the Picus signs everywhere (like, seriously? Should Picus exist I guarantee there would be added diacritics and some extra decorations all over the place) and forget about tie-in events Adam definitely gives a fuck. He has a million fucks to give, it’s his downfall. He’s cynical as to other people’s motives, and with a good reason, since almost everybody proves to be even worse than he suspected. I’m glad he’s not an edgy nihil-lord, he’s far too old for that. I get your point tho, no worries there, I can see how people might not like Adam and that's okay of course. Downfall? He's still alive, so it's probably not that bad Hee, Jensen the edgelord, that might be fun. Now I wonder what he was like when he was a teenager. Cute edgy little Jensen, all misuderstood. But edgy doesn't have much to do with being cynical either. And again, I don't dislike him. He could just cut some of the preaching and I probably wouldn't even mind that so much if not for what you vey accurately call "panic room dumbfest"... and the medic situation, as well. Aw, it sounds like a big effort to set-up the game, so I’ll be honest and say I’m not likely to play it, especially since meta-humor isn’t my thing most of the time. With that in mind, go ahead and spoil the twist. I usually go for RPG when I can choose, but since shortly there may not be any worth the name, I should consider other options too And Dishonored was pretty good, yep. And the Pc building sounds just fine, as long as there's any. Some PCs can screw it up for themselves the moment they open their mouth. Effort? I don't know about that, I just answered a question Not interested, but curious about the twist, right? Ok, the beautiful princess that promised The Bard gold and countless sexual favors if he frees her from a tower (the article plays a role, you understand) is a demon captured after lots of effort and bound using a clever system of tower guardians. You've generally just spend the entire game eliminating all the good guys and all their guys, and brought the world to the brink of being flooded with zombies and who knows what else, which makes you just about the biggest delusional asshole around and explains why the three little green shits would follow you and sing about how much they hate you for the entirety of the game. You're not the chosen one, there's no chosen one. The concept was that is you convince enough dumb as fuck farmer boys that they're the chosen one, one of them must succeed with the rescue...eventually... riiight? But the game gives out at least the first sentence of almost every line Adam says, no? I find it vastly superior to the model of only giving a vague mood hint. I can’t remember any instances where what I chose was in conflict what he said out loud, at most maybe some minor stuff like I’d prefer he word something slightly differently. There was no not huge terrible idiocy like choosing being rude to the expensive whore at Citadel in ME1 resulting in Shepard fucking her. *shudder* It probably helps that Eidos seems to be better at writing dialogue (and narrative and lore…). I liked most of what Adam said, the infamous panic room dumbfest not included (and the later line that directly relates to that scene [you’ll recognize it]). Sure, I actually digressed with the side quests. It's not about what Jensen says, but that sometimes doing anything during a side quest choice feels naggy and not right afterwards. Sometimes is seems like some of the quests are just there to be refused entirely. Showing the thing is a better system for sure, I don't know why everyone is so ung up on the mood thing. Can't people read or something? I usually end up skimming through the text and then listen to Jensen say the entire thing and I don't really feel held up by the process. Better than fearing what the character will actually say. Although I totally agree about the pic and it's probably the biggest loss for games ever, this is a real bad example for DA2. The point of the purple responses was to make the character sound like a sarcastic asshole, so I'd argue this is not an example or bad dialogue, it's working as intended. Little Anders gets all touchy feely and Hawke just doesn't give a shit/want to respond in an appropriate manner/ can't respond in an appropriate manner, that would depend on RP Err. That's rough. Better to be rude to her, then. But I think you didn't have to end up fucking her if you accepted someting she gave you, right? But the same thing happens to me with damn Kaidan all the time. I've made it into a bit of ME1 weird event in my headcanon, Kaidan chases after Shepard who's totaly oblivious to his intentions and just trying to play nice, and then he dies on Virmire before it gets cringey. Actually, on the last pt he survived, barged into Shepard's bedroom and she, all like "wtf, man", told him hell no Btw the Zhao scene had me cackling like a maniac for some reason. But I really wonder what would happen if he had the chip.. and hope something would actually happen. It would be lame if he were to be all that fucking special.

LOL I just looked at the advent calendar pic for today, and are my eyes deceiving me or is there a lone crate suspended on ropes over the hide-out? Zitrus do you have better pictures? Has it always been there? What is it suspended from and why? I can't but imagine it falling cartoonishly on top of somebody (should've happened to BloodOfShiagur after their tenth button press, IMO. ) My first thought was blowpipes enhanced with mass effect field stuff to go through armour. However, could be impratical unless you're cloaked, depends on the range. A wrist-mounted crowssbow might be better. Yeah like I said, what that multiplayer dude had. But anyway, I’m not sure if Reyes would use anything as outlandish as that, since he doesn’t feel like someone that really cares about various combat tactics, less so gimmicky stuff like my ideas. Just a simple gun as a back up when his goons fail him. One of the reasons I can’t really see him as a perma-squaddie. It's up so high, it's like a natural fortress. The kett probably played a role in the choice and perhaps also the predators and all the acid lakes. Thumbs up for Tuchanka. I agree with the natural fortress. Defenses are always useful and besides it has a good view and works with mountain metaphors. What's not to love As for the outpost, maybe this was just the first one and more would be made in time, in various locations of the planet? (Might've been an interesting thing to do in a DLC, taking a lookat another egion of one of the planets and maye found a place for an addittional outpost) I can see that being the Angara's reasoning. However, enemy air drops and the previously mentioned bombing out of the precariously placed landing pads make the fortress-ness of the Port debatable, IMO. The animals are a good point. If there were signs of pre-flight society at the same location, tradition alone might explain picking up the place. But there’s really nothing like that, everything everywhere looks brand new. Even the supposedly old remnant vaults were what, measly 500 years old, right? Also I wonder about constructing the Port with the undoubtedly scarce resources the founders must have had. There’s no supporting infrastructure either. Still, I like the thematic fairytale mountain castle feeling they had going, and which might have been the driving idea behind the design. Yes, more outposts please! Yes, he always offers the handshake because as he says they are partners now. And if Ryder declines, he calls them an ass but says he can work with people like that. And then nothing changes, the email is the same and all. And I don't know why I never looked for it but the whiskey Reyes has to endure when he's not sipping the good stuff. Synthetically aged for, eh can't read. Everlast, lasts forever, huh? Yeah, you really can’t even make Reyes mad at you, he’s too chill for that. And I guess he knows the value of the alliance, so he bears it all. He probably has met worse than asshole Ryder, too. Suddenly I understand why Reyes went to all that trouble and risked miffing the Pathfinder at the party. Synth aged sounds absolutely terrible. He really shouldn’t have wasted the Milgrom by chugging it straight from the bottle like that. Who knows when he can get another bottle, if ever. Agreeing with Zia, nooo. It’s a touching and significant moment when Ryder defends Reyes. I feel it’s vital for their relationship, even. I know that Reyes calls Ryder an ass in that case, but his words have no bite, he’s more bemused than anything like it’s not worth his time. IMO it means that he’s not desperate for Ryder’s friendship, but he wants their relationship to be as amicable as it can be with Ryder being an asshole. I.e. he finds Ryder's company worthwhile enough so that if Ryder chills out later, Reyes would accept a genuine friendship too. Yeah, there must have been a reason Reyes asked for Ryder’s help with checking out the Zia thing. We know afterwards that he would have the resources for dealing with that personally, if he needed to. He well may have known in advance more than he let on, which would make his surprise at the scene with Zia an act. And that would be interesting, considering how Ryder defends his good nature to Zia… It might have made Reyes even contrite, at least the littlest bit. On the other hand, he might have just seized an opportunity to make Ryder work with him on something he perceived as harmless. Not-so-Reyes-related derail(s): Yes, it's a pity you can almost never say that you don't like SAM being inside your head. I only remember when Drack joins up you can say you don't like it but it is how it is, something like that. You also never really talk with SAM. There are the short questions he can ask Ryder at the console in Ryder’s cabin, but those feel so distant and impersonal. And even that Ryder needs to physically go there instead of having them talk in their mind. It’s a huge wasted opportunity. It’s like they really couldn’t commit to the premise wholly. I peeked at one spoiler and there's stuff about SAM and Alec and of course Cora in the new book. Maybe it'll answer some of those questions. Hmm, even more things to read but Mr Jensen comes first. I can’t imagine reading a book about Cora, but at least your priorities are set on straight. As for the bed, well, I suppose it worked in ME1 (but I don't know, I'm fine with waiting till the next part) even though Shepard had this little cramped cabin. But on the other hand the double bed looks comfortable. It would’ve helped the pioneering, make-do atmosphere more than the shoddily implemented crafting system. Shep’s bed was doublewide back in ME1 already and the cabin pretty large. Still, it's just the second in line after attempting to jump on people's heads. I don’t even know what to say to that. You must miss Mako and jumping atop of the large Geth, right? Turian or not, Kadara seems like the place for a spa. Hmm, a decadent bathing establishment, maybe that’s where they’re eventually have their prostitution industry started. Well, that sort of ruined the nice idea. Maybe the chill Turians can keep their spa tidy and respectable. But imagine Reyes expanding into holiday trade. Or maybe he’d leave that to an associate, maybe make Tian expand into additional business ventures. The Nexus people would come to relax and the Collective would bug their rooms for juicy info. Yes, as in Sloane and Reyes paths being alternative to each other. The bottom line is that there is so little Reyes content given to us, so I’ll hang tooth and nail to even this tiny scrap of a mention of his name. Fite me, again. I don’t think any other quest has equivalent outcome. There’s the man in the Outcast run drunk tank or jail who has the miniest of mini quests, and there I believe the jail is just completely empty if you go there after the take-over. Maybe the Collective let the jailed people just go? So I guess that task would just remain unsolved (or failed?). The trick is that Ryder never knew they had the Charlatan's atention till he suddenly revealed himself.. and that's being shady at it's finest [--] (Btw, gues who steals the doctor? Ryderrr! I really don't know how Reyes overlooks their casual ruining any venture of his they come across. ) Indeed, Reyes didn’t even need to send suspicious gifts. Right. Ryder steals the apparently only decent doctor the Port has. Or is it a shrewd political move, making the exiles more liable to come over to the Outpost if they need medical care? An attempt to re-tie them to the Initiative? (I mean, it obviously isn’t, since Ryder’s not smart enough. But if they were.) Let’s hope Reyes has someone with medical training in his gang. Reyes is still so young, so I could see him picking the more foolish option. Another learning experience that would teach him to know better, after he (with Ryder’s help?) got out of the trouble. Afterwards he’d be less adventurous and even more cautious, maybe even leaning into more Shadow Brokery disposition (though hopefully not completely).

That's the danger about having a favorite uncle in your inner circle. When he gets tactless, what can you do about him? That was a bit of a foolish risk for Reyes to take. Let's hope he's a great shot and otherwise dependable, at least He looks like he can get the job done. I'm sure it'll be fine, mostly. Hehe, I though of blowpipes too bu Reyes with a blowpipe looks quite silly. Everything wrks better when you're cloaked, though. he definitely needs cloaking tech. It's even already a skill, thus easy to implement. They'd be thrilled about that no doubt. All their sexy factor gone because Reyes likes to play with his toxic little plants Functionality beats design here, sorry crew . Also, no more exposed skin either, right Peebee (Drack would probably be fine, though), maybe it goes right through it. LOL I just looked at the advent calendar pic for today, and are my eyes deceiving me or is there a lone crate suspended on ropes over the hide-out? Zitrus do you have better pictures? Has it always been there? What is it suspended from and why? I can't but imagine it falling cartoonishly on top of somebody (should've happened to BloodOfShiagur after their tenth button press, IMO. ) Haha, yes it has always been there, there are two actually and you can jump on them. I should have added wrapping paper. What a lost opportunity. Ouch, then it would have fallen on me as well because I annoyed the salarian once as long as possible. I give you the tour of the Collective's ceiling storage. Here we have the crates. They built some kind of metal framework into the cave. I could imagine that these arms can be lifted and lowered. The ropes are metal bars. I can see that being the Angara's reasoning. Perhaps that trading port has always been far away from larger settlements, even back when there were more cities, that's why there's nothing else around. Don't know if they used them but the caves might have been a good hiding spot. Probably never, if it's the only one. He has to start his own distillery and wait. I think it was a convenient way to settle this business which turned out more dangerous than he initially thought and an opportunity to bond some more with Ryder (or not, but worth a try). Right. An attempt to re-tie them to the Initiative? (I mean, it obviously isn’t, since Ryder’s not smart enough. But if they were.) Let’s hope Reyes has someone with medical training in his gang. Well stealing, he goes there of his own volition. And only if you give him the formula back from what I read, otherwise he stays in the slums. It was also his idea to tell his patients to come over to the outpost if they want treatment. I think the Collective have at least one other doctor and some guard the outpost anyway so it's quite useful if he is there in case they get injured. Just you wait. If we get a sequel, I bet Jensen will die in a heroic self-sacrifice. Sadly, I expect that. If femShep chose the friendly options with him, he gets all Nice Guy and starts complaining that how dared you be friendly when you didn’t have a romantic interest. Even when playing manShep, I couldn’t forget him being asshole like that. Lol, it's the unwritten ME rule: top option=nice=flirt with eligible char. He deserved his retaliation (although his “women always herp derp hurf” was a dumb line too, even if it was just a reply to what Zhao said previously). EDIT: I found a vid: I liked that comeback. Megan is a good scientist but also a little slow. Oh, this can also be used for bad things? And that she's on first name basis with her kidnapper, she has no clue. You listened to the after-credits-scene, yes BloodOfShiagur ? Btw a fun fact about the final boss fight Of course I struggled in the water and had trouble keeping the women from dying. I don’t know who is suspected on the wiki, but I’m placing my money on Yes, that's the one. On the wiki is a note that Janus' entry had this guy's concept art on a preview of Prima Games' guide in September 2016 which was later removed. He's also not in the other games so they can kill him off easily. Manderley works for Bob Page who is Everett's protégé (for now). Bob has a different vision for the future than DeBeers. But Pritchard doesn't bat an eyelid when Jensen says the "like a bad screenplay you've written" like, it's like water off a goose. He probably doesn't even hear Adam's comments about that anymore. Yay! Thank you for the collection. That’s much more than I was expecting, thanks for bothering. How extremely not Pritchard looking he’s in the majority of those panels. Also I guess the comics have decided that Adam is gun-toting. Also jensen needs to come up with a new line instead of re-using "Didn't know you cared Francis" for the third time. No problem. Fortunately every char has a defining thing like the hair etc. to identify them. Otherwise it could be anyone. Zhao is done really badly in the first part, good thing it's said who that is supposed to be. You should’ve said so and I would’ve gotten to it earlier. It was a nice surprise this way^^. I guess you saw the “emphasis on online content” Eidos-Montreal statement, and the non-clarifying clarification afterwards? Yes, I saw that. We have to hold on to hope. Prey is the spiritual System Shock successor that BioShock was meant to be, but failed at. BioShock may have been alright by itself, but it still was extremely dumbed down and narratively weak when compared to SS2. System Shock 2 is basically holy holy holy to me, so it’s very high praise when I say that Prey is almost as good and even better in some aspects. The folks at Arkane properly understood the fundamentals behind SS. The only thing I dislike is the hacking minigame, which is frustrating especially since I’m bad it at. SS2 is still playable without mods, by the way, and handles well (better than Deus Ex 1, for reference). You should consider getting the game, we’d have more topics to discuss in this here thread. I liked the first Bioshock best out of all 3. I roughly know the stories of the Systems Shocks. I only hacked one computer. I wondered first how I can even do that and then I saw the icon. My first try went fine but it was probably an easy one for warming up. Please sign up here for more in-depth discussions^^. I put it on the list. It's already very cheap in some shops so I guess it's only a matter of time till I snatch it. Yes, I think this system is the best for games with a voiced protag. It was already good in the first DX. I also think that the times that Adam kept talking more than what was shown in the dialogue menu, it followed naturally and didn’t take any wild divergences. I haven’t actually played that Dragon Age game, but that system looks like the worst possible option. Yes, this is actually the most transparent one. It was okay. The icons make it pretty clear what kind of answer your're going to give. I could make do but sometimes I thought well, that's not what I actually wanted to say lol.

Merry and chill Christmas in advance, thread! Here we have the crates Come to think of it, they do look a bit like huge presents. And the things that could be inside... Maybe they hang there as a part of upcoming seasonal decor. Or maybe it's my Christmas mood talking. Wonder what kind of "tree" you decorate on Kadara, though. There doesn't seem to be all that much to choose from. Nice tour. i never knew there were more of them, I just saw the one. orchid , I'm touched by your concern about my Ryder's well-being and dignity, seriously. But you do realize there's the whole structure standing between the button and the crate, right? Lovable as such a consequence of maniacal button mashing would be, it would have to be one heavy fucking crate driven by insatiable bloodlust to make it to a nice landing on the offender's head. Hmm, hiding behind goons. Gave me an idea. Maybe he'd actually assign one of the more useful Collective operatives in his place and keep himself behind the scene? That might be interesting. I can see that being the Angara's reasoning. Good point. But I don't know if we know enough to make any conclusions about the age of the Port, save for that it's less than a few centuries since there were no angara before. Nothing in MEA really looks old or new, and it seems there was an established less than reputable community before the kett occupation, and we don't even know how long that lasted. Actually, when you mention the resources the lovely castle in the clouds must have taken, and the fact they'd have it pretty hard indeed without the docks, maybe it would be possible to assume the settlement dates back to the pre-scourge times? Especially more outposts on Kadara. I'd like to know how the Collective would handle it. Given how it was chugged from the bottle during a nice bonding moment, maybe he can live with it. It somehow goes with him, to run away with the stolen treasure and treat it with levity on a rooftop If the bottle were to really fall out of his hands when he's making out with Ryder, it would be mildly tragic, though. I still think it's a bit too early for that, Ryder assumes a lot defending someone they barely know like that. As far as I'm concerned it would've been more touching sometime much later on, when Ryder knows a lot more about him yet still chooses to take his side. That would probably feel more like affection and less like being hopelessly smitten. In a way, that's what I'd consider vital. Till then, the rooftop convo it is. He calls Ryder an ass? I tried that option, but I can't remember it. As for the friendship, well, Ryder is the universal go-to person for almost everyone. It's better to achieve some form of coexistence with them, especially since Reyes doesn't want any more conflict between the Milkies. But using those resources might put him in the spotlight should some of the other smugglers start wondering what happened, similarly to what you said earlier. Something like that would be easy to suspect, really. He may easily have known all her plan and take Ryder along because it's something he was sure couldn't go wrong. If he knew how it was going to go down and saw a chance fortify his alliance with Ryder, why not use it? He didn't actually seem very surprised there was no cargo. Or angry. Or anything. (But there's always the possibility he may just be too professional to show it.) But Reyes, contrite? For five seconds tops He looks like he can get the job done. I'm sure it'll be fine, mostly. Oh, I bet he can get the job done. But can he shut up about it afterwards? (imagining Reyes facepalming, muttering to himself he should've gone with the merc company idea after all) Probably never, if it's the only one. He has to start his own distillery and wait. Heehee, he could use a little private distillery. No more subpar beverages, let alone bar tabs. Or maybe he could just offer generous financial support to local Turians. I don’t even know what to say to that. You must miss Mako and jumping atop of the large Geth, right? Hehe, I imagine it must be shocking I've actually never tried that but I'll rectify it the next time I replay ME1. It's just something I try since that fine day when I realized the NPCs in VtMB frantically roll away when you land on their head. Chasing the Prince and his gorilla all across the room, yaay. Btw, speaking of boxes and the like, I'm still sad I forgot the box I was carrying around with an intention to throw it at Taggart somewhere along the way in the last mission. It would’ve helped the pioneering, make-do atmosphere more than the shoddily implemented crafting system. Shep’s bed was doublewide back in ME1 already and the cabin pretty large. But still, Shepard's cabin is modest compared to what other BW PCs have, save for DA1 warden tent. And it does look a bit cramped to me. Yeah, it definitely did, and I loved the sound of it so much They could do without prostitution all that time, surely they can keep their bathing establishment hooker-free as well. A bit of hot springs decadence could surely draw the right people in anyway. I think something like that would definitely work like a charm. In this case it might be better to keep it respectable, though. Oh, I'd love to, but again this isn't really a fite situation. I bet Reyes would be interested in a gang of cannibals found in his lands, so the quest could actually be finished and call could happen regardless of whether Remi got minced down and eaten or not by the time the High noopn business is neatly wrapped up. The one who wanted you to talk to the asari? As far as I remember that guy was a real anti-establishment rebel, so probably the Collective let him go. It seems like a good move when they've taken over, too Indeed, Reyes didn’t even need to send suspicious gifts. Stealing as in Reyes was thinking of acquiring him for the Collective before Ryder barged in and ruined his prospects with founding the Outpost Although it's true that he went on his won without them knowing, and the re-tying attempt is most likely to be credited to him too. With how hesitant the doctor sounded about the Charlatan I don't think he'd want to associate with the Collective when he's been given other options. It's an interesting question about the medic, though. Judging from the way the doc sounds about it there's not much in the way of trained medical personnel on Kadara, so I wouldn't be that sure they really have a specialist, maybe someone who can patch a few wounds here and there. Or maybe he could actually manage to keep himself safe even when doing his smuggler business. He doesn't need Ryder most of the time, after all. Might be fun if perhaps he helped Ryder out of some tight spot at some point There's a chance he might get more Shadow-brokery as he gets older, but there's no need for him to cut the space adventure short just yet. May or may not? So dismissive. It's not meant to be dismissive, it's supposed to be me concealing my motives so that you can never be sure how the situation turns out. Maybe you're just being dared into something you'll regret Jensen is a gentle soul, he’s not as callous as you. It’s understandable that he gets upset over an ex and a current friend (a supposed friend anyway). Yeah I wonder why the Hyron victims needed to be all women, but maybe that’s just Darrow or his scientists being creepy. Some of the terminals on Panchea and also in Missing Link had some information on the Hyron, but nothing very clear. A precursor to the stuff in DX 1, of course. I phrased that badly. The way they’re introduced in MD is as explicitly a loose hacker coalition with only the goal to depose the Illuminati, and Jensen acts friendly with one of their agents (Alex) which seems to imply a level of trust. So while it would be foolish to assume that they’re some sort of Followers of the Apocalypse outfit, they still come across as relatively okay-ish at least for some time. (Janus is suspicious as heck from the get-go, though.) Black Light makes them seem all the more dubious (can elaborate if and when you want) and the agent that Jensen seems to be friendly with is an asshole in the book, is all. Being a gentle soul is one thing, getting clichéd with it quite another, as is being upset over a supposedly close person being burned beyond recognition and having obsessive dreams about sexual encounters past Being creepy, that's an explanation I can accept. It will probably be something like that anyway, there's no other reason than that males didn't look so swell in those suits. The Missing link was also quite disappointing in this regard, you'd hope the DLC would be just the point where this shit gets elaborated on, but nooo, you just get more women in suits and are told this is where they do whatever they do with them. As a result, you get even more questions and no answers to be found anywhere. Which is kind of bad, because when you encounter the Hyron it's like "ok, there's a creepy computery thing that does..errr.. ominous stuff, period" I was exaggerating a bit with the Robin Hood thing, I wouldn't trust anyone to be okay-ish in DX and I think I'll kinda want to run back to SI employ I'm starting MD tomorrow when the festivities are over, so I'll see how it goes. Jensen is friendly with assholes now? Hmm, what a turn of events. Just you wait. If we get a sequel, I bet Jensen will die in a heroic self-sacrifice. Bah for the bolded part. It’s what makes him an adorable precious cinnamon roll. Besides, his bantering with Pritchard wouldn’t work half as well if Adam wasn’t as he is, wouldn’t you agree? That's very likely, even though it would be irritating at best. Dragging a PC through the game to watch them die an inevitable death is something I like to avoid. But anyway, wouldn't there be more reasons for such an ending besides him giving a fuck? Muhehe, if your cinnamon roll suddenly started preaching morality on you, would you still consider it precious? Yeah, yeah, I know he is just the way he has to be and he won't get any different. Meh, dunno if I’d be bothered to finish the campaign if the promised reward was sex for my character. Need bit of a stronger narrative hook. The twist is funny though. Thanks for indulging me! Well, there's also some riches and power, and doing a good deed and disposing of a few evil druids who kidnap innocent maidens But the biggest narrative hook is the randomness of the events as such. You go with it just as the protag goes with it, because why the hell not? Huh. Which side quests did you feel like that about? At least you can refuse to do them, no harm done. Hehe, that pic is probably purposefully ungracious towards DA2, but still, it gets the point across. Yeah, you can choose another option, but the point here is that there is no advance hint that choosing the renegade answer leads inevitably to a sudden sex scene; instead the feeling you get from the hint is that Shepard finds the trinket an inadequate reward and will say something like "Thanks for nothing" or demand more money. And the point illustrated is that dialogue wheels are often incredibly bad at letting you know what will happen. Kaidan was bad too, yeah. If femShep chose the friendly options with him, he gets all Nice Guy and starts complaining that how dared you be friendly when you didn’t have a romantic interest. Even when playing manShep, I couldn’t forget him being asshole like that. I tried to find a vid of Jensen that got the chip after playing the game, but I guess nobody has recorded that. But I read that Jensen collapses in pain and then during the fight against Namir he doesn’t have his augs or they malfunction randomly, I’m not sure what exactly. Then afterwards Megan injects Jensen with nanos that counter the chip’s effects so he becomes immune to Darrow's signal. I’d really like to see how it all goes exactly, but I don’t want to redo that whole part of the game. Also I couldn’t deal with letting Zhao fool poor Adam again. He deserved his retaliation (although his “women always herp derp hurf” was a dumb line too, even if it was just a reply to what Zhao said previously). EDIT: I found a vid: Not bad, actually. A lot of them, actually. The Jaya one, the Zelazny one, even the one with the nu-poz thefts. In two of those Jensen seemed like he had little to no right to meddle and in the last one it's either leaving the idiot hanging or doing his dirty work, both of which get uncomfortable. But sure there's harm done, I need all the exp points! Yeah, it gets the point of dialogue systems tragically degrading across, but pretty much on the basis of (purposeful) misunderstanding. Could've been done in an unbiased way. Btw, the worst out of the simplified systems was FO4 for me. And on top of that sarcastic lines weren't funny, the character sounded like a retard while Hawke is rather lovable. The moral of the story: don't get greedy or you'll be forced to fuck an asari Which of course isn't saying it's well implemented. I don't even know which lines lead to refusing Kaidan, it seems he's hell bent on getting Shepard whether she's willing or not. I guess the flirt dialogue isn't entirely without merit, at least one knows what's going on. Well shit, I expected that, but it must be one hell of a fight. I can't imagine how I'd have done it without the cloak and smart vision. But it's a fitting punishment for not bothering to follow the clues, I guess. I liked how he delivered the line, so I don't really have a problem with it. If I were him I wouldn't have gloated as much, given the panic room fuckup the Illuminati are still laughing about at their clandestine tea parties, but it was cute and the whole scene was fun, so why not. Interesting way to end the boss fight, but why would anyone do that? It was pretty easy as it was... I liked that comeback. Megan is a good scientist but also a little slow. Oh, this can also be used for bad things? And that she's on first name basis with her kidnapper, she has no clue. You listened to the after-credits-scene, yes BloodOfShiagur ? Slow Megan. I like that Sure I did. I wouldn't have but when I happened to glance at the credits while listening to the cool endgame music I saw "post-credit Bob Page something" so I waited. So it was him who had her kidnapped? I thought it was Illuminati team effort. Also, I must say he has the coolest theme I've heard in a long time. Of course I struggled in the water and had trouble keeping the women from dying. Waaait, don't tell me you actually don't have to kill the women.

Merry and chill Christmas in advance, thread! Thank you BloodOfShiagur , and also thanks again for the advent calendar, Zitrus ! 🎄 The vid for 24 was especially lovely, and I’m amazed how you managed to drive the Nomad so gracefully for the first shot with the camera situated like that. Haha, yes it has always been there, there are two actually and you can jump on them. I should have added wrapping paper. What a lost opportunity. Ouch, then it would have fallen on me as well because I annoyed the salarian once as long as possible. I give you the tour of the Collective's ceiling storage. And to think I never thought to look up. Ty for the tour. That’s quite the setup. I suppose the crates are lowered through the huge hole in the cave ceiling. So, there’s an alternate route to the place, which of course makes sense. There’s probably some elevator system (or they just ride on top of the crates) and maybe even a small hidden shuttle bay up there. Oh, you too Zitrus ? I hesitated before pressing the button even once. But somebody needs to teach Ryder a lesson, since their parents apparently neglected to do so. Come to think of it, they do look a bit like huge presents. Lol Reyes’ black market goods, marked as gifts to pass through Nexus customs. I guess that wouldn’t work, unless Vetra stepped in to help him. I actually tried to take a screenshot of one of the coral like plant things to ‘shop Christmas lights onto, but couldn’t find anything decent and quickly lost interest. Now, that’s the beautiful part. First button press wakes the crane system from stand-by mode, second activates the lift’s arms, third moves the crate down, fourth diagonally to the right, and so on, until the final one releases the clamps right above of the button smasher’s location. It’s basically a morality fable. Besides, it would be funny. Hmm, hiding behind goons. Gave me an idea. Maybe he'd actually assign one of the more useful Collective operatives in his place and keep himself behind the scene? That might be interesting. He’s already sorta doing that with Keema, so yeah, maybe he’d go even further. Would have been interesting if he had done that for High Noon. Ryder wouldn’t have had a clue, but Reyes could hardly blame them for anything if they just so happened to back Sloane. (Other than poor judgement, that is.) Perhaps that trading port has always been far away from larger settlements, even back when there were more cities, that's why there's nothing else around. Don't know if they used them but the caves might have been a good hiding spot. Yeah. Maybe all that was around the Port were small settlements that never left a trace. It would make sense. Also I somehow forgot that airports exist, being fixated with coastal ports for whatever reason. I can’t really remember how old the Angara are supposed to be as a species. The Remnant structures are recent, yet the Angara act like they’re beyond any historical records they have. I know the Kett are partially to blame, but still, seriously, only 500 years. I have zero recollection of when the Scourge happened. I could probably check the wiki, but ... effort. I guess the writers didn’t care about this particular aspect of the lore either, is all. The Collective could expand among the spreading outpost, but they’d likely also try to keep some extremely well-hidden clandestine hide-outs that Reyes mightn’t even tell Ryder about. Who knows when he can get another bottle, if ever. Probably never, if it's the only one. He has to start his own distillery and wait. Poor Reyes, he’ll be dead before there’s another batch of really good aged whiskey, and even then who knows what it’ll taste like. That’s why I personally like it. I love the idea of a foolish, smitten Ryder, and the reaction that Reyes has to that. Reyes has enough faults that I consider a degree of smittenness necessary to explain my Ryder falling for him (and I’ve decided that my femRyder won’t). I don’t remember if the word used is “ass” exactly, since I've seen that exchange only once as well. My brain insists that Reyes calls them a dick, but that can’t be, not in a mild-worded game like MEA. He didn't actually seem very surprised there was no cargo. Or angry. Or anything. (But there's always the possibility he may just be too professional to show it.) But Reyes, contrite? For five seconds tops Reyes was disappointed, but he’s too chill to cause a big row because of it. Too cool to care. Lol true, Reyes doesn’t seem partial to repent anything. It seems like a good move when they've taken over, too But the cannibals are all dead, so there’s not really anything left to do about it. Maybe the cannibals could be toned down, so that instead of a schlock horror butcher house, there’d be a façade of respectability and less victims, with Remi found 1) wholly intact, if you go there immediately after receiving the quest, 2) with his left arm chopped off & eaten with her in shock, if you wait until after High Noon, 3) dead, if you wait until after completing the main quest or something. The cannibals would also try to plead about their little colony starving, and the main cannibal could try to excuse himself by telling about his kids that he had to feed somehow. A dialogue battle instead of just driving there and shooting mooks. It would be an illustration of how dire the situation is for the exiles, and to show how crucial it is for Kadara to function in some orderly manner. Yup, him. I think he just was picking up fights drunk or something stupid, probably beneath the Collective’s notice until he starts something again. That’s it exactly. And in the end he’s one character that the Charlatan couldn’t charm.

But can he shut up about it afterwards? (imagining Reyes facepalming, muttering to himself he should've gone with the merc company idea after all) Not always . You know, that sounds better than it just being a light source for the map. When you clip through the light and the mountains you land up here. The white dot is the Collective HQ beneath and up is the Roekaar hideout. Oh, you too Zitrus ? I hesitated before pressing the button even once. But somebody needs to teach Ryder a lesson, since their parents apparently neglected to do so. I wanted to see where this goes xD. Lol. The crate would be open on the underside and trap Ryder. Comment from the salarian: Don't ever bother us again. Actually, when you mention the resources the lovely castle in the clouds must have taken, and the fact they'd have it pretty hard indeed without the docks, maybe it would be possible to assume the settlement dates back to the pre-scourge times? I can’t really remember how old the Angara are supposed to be as a species. The Remnant structures are recent, yet the Angara act like they’re beyond any historical records they have. I know the Kett are partially to blame, but still, seriously, only 500 years. I have zero recollection of when the Scourge happened. I could probably check the wiki, but ... effort. I guess the writers didn’t care about this particular aspect of the lore either, is all. The angara were created in 1600 BCE, the Scourge arrived in 2400 CE (in-game codex). From the wiki: The appearance of the Scourge ruined the angara's worlds and sent their civilization into a pre-industrial dark age that lasted a century. The angara of five worlds, including Havarl and Voeld, eventually rediscovered spaceflight and reestablished communication with each other, finding that the centuries of isolation had created divergent cultures. The angara began to expand again, colonizing Kadara and Aya, and efforts were made to establish a new unified government for their species. And then the kett came in 2744. Poor Reyes, he’ll be dead before there’s another batch of really good aged whiskey, and even then who knows what it’ll taste like. I read that a lot of whiskey is in its prime after 10-15 years. Now to find suitable grain and barrels. Reyes has enough faults that I consider a degree of smittenness necessary to explain my Ryder falling for him (and I’ve decided that my femRyder won’t). Oh, so who's the lucky one, Vetra? Or is she staying single? I don’t remember if the word used is “ass” exactly, since I've seen that exchange only once as well. My brain insists that Reyes calls them a dick, but that can’t be, not in a mild-worded game like MEA. Trust your brain . He says "You know Ryder, you're kind of a dick". Sure I did. I wouldn't have but when I happened to glance at the credits while listening to the cool endgame music I saw "post-credit Bob Page something" so I waited. Never skip the credits. Sometimes cool things await you. Waaait, don't tell me you actually don't have to kill the women. They're not a boss, no killing required. Or she’s just playing sugary for Adam so that he won’t press her too much. You heard how callous and calculating she sounded in the after-credits scene. Of course, in MD she sounds genuinely clueless about how they're using the Orchid ( ), so who knows, but I wouldn’t let her off the hook that easily. But yeah, lmao at her being buddy-buddy with Namir, the head implanted in an uncanny dickless muscle-model body. Maybe the two of them plus Zhao were having a nice little tea party before Jensen barged in. But I’m curious about what’s the link between Megan and Manderley’s secretary (last name Reed) in DX 1. Which ending did you choose in HR, Zitrus ? I think that was because she had trouble finding work and VersaLife is the only company that will employ her after what went down. I think she really is. She doesn't realize what her work can be used for. Did you like having such a prominent role in the game? That must be it lol. Hopefully not just a coincidence/easteregg. Some relative, maybe her daughter? I sent Darrow's message. I didn't like what he did but I didn't want to send out another lie nor kill Adam and keep what happened buried. So it was him who had her kidnapped? I thought it was Illuminati team effort. Also, I must say he has the coolest theme I've heard in a long time. It was a team effort alright, including Page. Honestly I’m not altogether sure Megan knows Bob is an Illuminatus, because in MD lol welp, we’ll get back to it later I guess. Anyway I think there’s circumstantial evidence to support both possibilities. It was all of them, yes. I don't think she knows that about him nor that this group exists at all. Did you manage to keep them actually alive? I didn’t think to check on them afterwards. (In fact, like BloodOfShiagur , I actively tried to kill them lol. Good thing I wasn't aiming for the no-kill cheevo.) At least one of them died as far as I recall. I didn't repeat it even though the game counted it as a kill but I thought well, I didn't kill her, I just failed to save her and I wanted to see the ending. Not that it mattered, they probably died anyway. Well fuck that’s a spoiler of not-in-game information I didn’t need to know. Oops, sorry. Maybe it turns out to be false after all. There's also something in the art book about another char I didn't realize in the game. I'll keep this one a secret.

to think I never thought to look up. Hmm, an elevator system. That might be still a bit too sopthisticated for the operation. It's in a cave and all, they'd have to do quite some digging to make the shafts. Besides, riding out of the base on top of a crate with the help of some makeshift equipment is so.. outlawish and piratey. But what if they actually use the crates to cover the damn hole in the ceiling? it must be raining on Kadara sometime Lol Reyes’ black market goods, marked as gifts to pass through Nexus customs. Hee, why not, especially in some later stages when the exiles are looked at least a bit more kindly upon? A well wrapped gift box with some conveniently respectful addressee who, of course, will never get their hands on it is not suspicious at all, is it? Yeah, now it only remains for the Collective mastermind that made this incredibly useful and educational setup to come out of hiding and state their purpose (and maybe laugh because how high were the chances someone . Surely Reyes didn't have it designed just to test Ryder's morality and restraint? He’s already sorta doing that with Keema, so yeah, maybe he’d go even further. Would have been interesting if he had done that for High Noon. Ryder wouldn’t have had a clue, but Reyes could hardly blame them for anything if they just so happened to back Sloane. (Other than poor judgement, that is.) It would also mean an extra companion (hopefully an interesting one) and Reyes somewhere around to keep an eye on the operation. A bit like Kaetus as a companion when Sloane is left in charge. Hmm, it might even make sense. If he'd done what, send an agent in his stead? Hehe, as in send an agent to claim he's the Charlatan to challenge Sloane to a fake duel? : (Shady. But wouldn't it clash with the show off thing?) Yeah, I wonder what Reyes would say to that development since it wouldn't be like he really could say anything. How was Ryder to know? Yeah. Maybe all that was around the Port were small settlements that never left a trace. It would make sense. Also I somehow forgot that airports exist, being fixated with coastal ports for whatever reason. Well, the Port is supposed to be the castle on the mountain, it definitely needs its villages with peasants. Makes sense. The angara are dramatic about their past no matter how short it actually was. It's kind of weird, though, since they all talk like there were angara pre-scrourge, all civilized and spacefaring and shit, but according to the evidence on the Meridian the angara were in development when the scourge hit. Huh. So which is it? Maybe the angara are so confused about their past tehy don't even realize their pre-scourge past might not be their own? Yeah, but how much influence would they actually try to establish? Hopefully not another Port, some Nexus folks might take it personally and ruin the good diplomatic relations. The hideouts seem likely, but I think that if Reyes really thought this through, he'd find out it's better to tell Ryder. No one has the uncanny ability to destroy Reyes' hidden agenda like the pathfinder. Hehe, karma. Poor Reyes, he’ll be dead before there’s another batch of really good aged whiskey, and even then who knows what it’ll taste like. Well, at least he'll be spared the disappointment if it's not up to MW standards. But generally I agree with Zitrus, he'll probably get some in his lifetime. That’s why I personally like it. I love the idea of a foolish, smitten Ryder, and the reaction that Reyes has to that. Reyes has enough faults that I consider a degree of smittenness necessary to explain my Ryder falling for him (and I’ve decided that my femRyder won’t). And I still wonder why it works on Reyes the way it does. With his personality I'd expect him to be a bit flustered at best about how young and naive his associate seems to be with that kind of talk. At worst it shows them as not s equal partners as they seem. Even though, yep, there may be something about this romance seen as a bit of a foolish thing with a handsome smuggler. She won't? You sure you can resist? Lol true, Reyes doesn’t seem partial to repent anything. Part of the charm, really. I'd think he's losing it big if he'd start to mope about how bad and shady he is. Some characters are just not meant to do that. But the cannibals are all dead, so there’s not really anything left to do about it. That's a great way to go about it, even with the dialogue. But in that case I'd demand to see the statistics for how many people were swayed and actually left the cannibals alone "Our kids are starving" may work better for the angara, after all. But don't you think kadara would get a bit boring if it got into strictly law and order mode? Not saying it needs extremes stuff like cannibals, but still. I think he pissed on some Outlaw's boot or something. See, a society changing kind of rebel That’s it exactly. And in the end he’s one character that the Charlatan couldn’t charm. Shit, that's true, isn't it? And Reyes tried so hard. Maybe he should have tried personally. good medical personnel must be hard to come by. And how big is the chance he never visited the doc anyway? Not always Hehe, definitely. But wouldn't that be a setback for the organization? I wanted to see where this goes xD. Everyone does. save for orchid, apparently. Lol. The crate would be open on the underside and trap Ryder. Comment from the salarian: Don't ever bother us again. I dont't know, wouldn' that tarnish the Ryder- Collective relations a bit? Oh no, why didn’t I think of that? A missed opportunity for sure. It’s not like there’s anything he could’ve even done at that point. Absolutely. He was there, at Jensen's mercy at long last and he didn't even throw a box at him. Or anything. A fucking tragedy, that. I’m fairly sick of this happening in games. If it’s the last game for Jensen, they could at the very least do a multiple choice where the good option would be the sacrifice and bad option would be e.g. accepting an Illuminati bribe to fuck off to live in luxury in some remote place and never step into publicity again, but I dunno. My dream of a genuinely happy ending for Jensen for sure won’t happen. They probably will want to make sure that he’s dead, so that it makes sense that he’s not relevant in any way in Dentons’ time. Oo, I'd love a bribed by the Illuminati and retired to a private island ending. It would be great, and Jensen would be suitably removed from any possible future plot and could devote to training mision kittens and the like. Maybe it would be a happy ending after all. But I don't really see why he should be dead in DX 1. There are many ways to just forget about a character and DX seems real proficient at negating any choices. But yeah, lmao at her being buddy-buddy with Namir, the head implanted in an uncanny dickless muscle-model body. Maybe the two of them plus Zhao were having a nice little tea party before Jensen barged in. I'd argue that a heavily augmented death machine mounted on a model body has no use for a dick. Heeheee, that must have been a fun little party. But guess what they were laughing about all the time But must there be a relation between Megan and the secretary? Names coincide. It was a team effort alright, including Page. Honestly I’m not altogether sure Megan knows Bob is an Illuminatus, because in MD lol welp, we’ll get back to it later I guess. Anyway I think there’s circumstantial evidence to support both possibilities. There's something really funny about imagining Megan go "lol welp" I’ll send you even worse pix and we’ll both end up regretting it. What an interesting situation this puts us in, right? Never knowing how much the other one is bluffing about their limits. Now now, Adam can’t help what dreams he has, especially immediately after severe trauma, witnessing the murder of his ex and when under anesthesia drugs, probably. Hyron afaik is just the only computer advanced enough to control Panchea’s operations. It’s merely an early stage of the set-up that the Illuminati assholes end up wanting to use, with Zhao as an unfortunate forerunner. You say nobody is okay-ish, but then immediately imply that SI was okay-ish. Jensen’s been dealing with assholes for ages. Maybe she’s not intended as an asshole by the author, but I can’t forgive her for (Black Light spoilers) holding Pritchard hostage by pointing a gun at his head for two hours so that he couldn’t be able to contact and warn Jensen, and I hold that Jensen shouldn’t have forgiven this incident and her and Quinn’s other various fuckeries so easily and also that she’s useless and does nothing of value in MD except gab exposition every once in a while. Oh, sure he can't, same as I can't help my thoughts on the matter, since having dreams about fucking an ex you saw gruesomely murdered is a bit distasteful to me. But don't mind me, I may just as well be an android. Yep, it's a computer, but given the nature of some of its parts, I'd just love to know how peecisely it works any why it needs them and specifically them. It's all very peculiar. Well, that's your interpretation I said I'd want back to SI employ, which I definitely do. That just means I prefer SI employ to some Collective stuff I know nothing about save for the hacker i briefly met in a DLC is to blame for it (a synopsis whenever you feel like it, please?), nothing about any okayishness judgments. Well, Jensen’s entire personal quest against the Illuminati comes from him giving a fuck and being extremely principled about it, so it’s at the root of everything he does. If he cared less, he’d just go “oh well, no can do” and try to concentrate on finding personal peace instead of saving the entire world. *sigh* I imagine Adam will end up succeeding in disrupting the Illuminati to a degree where the Majestic 12 manage to topple/take over them, ironically making things even worse. (But still I don’t think he’d need to personally die in doing that.) Why of course, if that happened, I’d be properly chastised and penitent. (And then I’d eat the cinnamon roll.) Yeah, but in that case you can't go claiming he's cynical. He's obviously not. Maybe if he were, he wouldn't even be fitting as a protagonist because he'd have no reason to care about some Illuminati bullshit. His knowledge of people being assholes doesn't really make him cynical, just experienced and disillusioned. Furthemore, I consider that he should preach less. Yeeah, we all know you have principles, Adam. And you call that chastised and penitent? Hmmmm. I agree about the nu-poz theft quest. With Zelazny, I thought the doctor explained the potential danger well enough, and then you can agree to let Zelazny keep on keeping on, which felt fine to me, especially considering the parallels to Jensen himself. Jaya is another quest you don’t have to do, if you just decide not to help the bartender, even at the cost of not getting to meet Tong that way. I don’t know if you can stumble upon that quest otherwise, but it’s intended to be merely an alternate way to get to meet Tong and there are several other options. I’m sure I got XP even when I decided to not do the bartender’s bidding. The game’s not that hard, you don’t need every single XP anyway. Every “battle of the sexes” thing makes me groan inwardly, and it really didn’t need to happen here. It’s not too bad though, just merited an eye roll from me with an "Adam, please". But did you just admit to finding Jensen cute? :3 I don’t think the Illuminati can afford to laugh at the infiltration, seeing how Sarif’s security guy managed to find his way all the way to an Illuminati member’s personal office while uncovering all kinds of shady shit. Especially when she died in vague circumstances not much later. If you just so happen to have a laser rifle and aim + fire it at your antagonist just as a symbolic middle finger. At least it finally paid off to carry that gigantic thing around. I had no qualms letting Zelazny go, really, those guys brought it on themselves so why not, and Jensen would have to go over the top preachy and generally insufferable in a wrong way to try and stop him. But even his agreeing to go looking felt a bit out of place, because of the mere fact he'd probably be liable to let him go from the beginning. You can get the Jaya one by just talking to the bartender, the game probably doesn't want to lock people out of quests. Yeah, yeah, I know I don't have to do them but it's hard to pass on one of the three optional quests. It's not like MEA with millions of them. And I totally need all the xp. I think I've already used the words obsessed completionist somewhere. Groaning inwardly is nothing, I usually just hope there's no steam rising from my ears while a part of me preaches hate and misanthropy In this case I'll go paradoxical and say Zhao started it, so she deservedly got it back. Jensen doesn't really seem like he contributes to the battle, just hand her her idiotic argument back with an impossible smile. Baah, please. Me, to find Jensen cute? I said his delivery of a line was cute, is all. You may be right about the Illuminati, but there's a window for it they can well use. Maybe they'll occasionally remember it when talkinh about Zhao. It's kind of a middle finger to the whole battle, really. What, nope, I have a laser rifle. Also BloodOfShiagur , when you get to Prague in MD, remember to interact with everything, open the blinds, look at the secret stash in the bedroom, etc. Ooo, there's a stash in the bedroom, too? I've spend a horrible amount of time in that absolutely perfect falt but I haven't discovered that. Is there a revolver? I sorely need my revolver. Never skip the credits. Sometimes cool things await you. Oh, I mostly don't. But these just dragged on. They're not a boss, no killing required. Well, shit. Now I feel bad. But I didn't find any other way for the battle to advance save for shutting them off. Or was the battle timed and my killing of them just coincided? I'm confused.

But wouldn't it clash with the show off thing?) Yeah, I wonder what Reyes would say to that development since it wouldn't be like he really could say anything. How was Ryder to know? Maybe they could have tied it to how Ryder treated Reyes. If they were on the meaner side he would've send an agent. If Sloane won, the Collective would have to lay low a for a while until they could try to take over with a different plan. If the agent won, Ryder and the AI would still be clueless unless Reyes deemed not saving Sloane proof enough they can be trusted. If he didn't reveal it the agent could later stay the public face or come clean about not being the real Charlatan. The AI would probably not be amused about not knowing who they're really dealing with. The angara are dramatic about their past no matter how short it actually was. It's kind of weird, though, since they all talk like there were angara pre-scrourge, all civilized and spacefaring and shit, but according to the evidence on the Meridian the angara were in development when the scourge hit. The hideouts seem likely, but I think that if Reyes really thought this through, he'd find out it's better to tell Ryder. No one has the uncanny ability to destroy Reyes' hidden agenda like the pathfinder. Hehe, karma. Could be the very first angara had implanted memories to make it seem they developed naturally. And then the Jardaan observed their creations from afar for a long time until the Scourge arrived. Maybe he could give subtle hints like: Don't expand too far in this direction, I heard it's really dangerous *wink wink*. Hehe, definitely. But wouldn't that be a setback for the organization? It keeps things interesting as long as he doesn't overdo it. I dont't know, wouldn' that tarnish the Ryder- Collective relations a bit? It's better than being smashed by it. Oh, I mostly don't. But these just dragged on. I think the pictures help though. I watched them again after my little replay and I had forgotten the original Deus Ex theme plays at the very end. The MD ones you just have to watch until the middle part. Ooo, there's a stash in the bedroom, too? I've spend a horrible amount of time in that absolutely perfect falt but I haven't discovered that. Is there a revolver? I sorely need my revolver. You took a shower and watched TV all the time, didn't you^^? It's next to the bed, in front of the mirror. No revolver there. Well, shit. Now I feel bad. But I didn't find any other way for the battle to advance save for shutting them off. Or was the battle timed and my killing of them just coincided? I'm confused. Turns out I was a bit confused as well. I found my old saves, I thought them lost, and replayed this battle. If you shut down the drones collectively with the terminal in the middle they presumably die because you deactivate the life support. There's a button for each of them and if you push one, the connected pod will open for a short time. You can then kill or incapacitate the women with the tazer or sleeping darts. You cannot check though if they are still alive because there's no prompt. I tried to jump into the pod but it doesn't work. Who actually died for me the first time around were not the women but one/some of the crazed guards who appear if you shut down the pods. I put them to sleep and later on when Zhao electrifies the floor they'll be killed if they lie around there. However, the game doesn't care and still gives you the pacifist achievement, even if you sever the life support for the women. After getting rid of the guards and the bots I only had to taze Zhao once and that was it. In my memory this was harder and there was water. Lol there is none, only a glass floor. There is a full replay due next year, 6 years are too long. I also found my old saves for IW, so I can check signs and stuff in Trier easily. Funny bug for the laser rifle I found on the wiki, haven't tested it yet: On the PC version, Laser Rifle will not consume any ammo if the game is played on 144hz monitor.

You know, that sounds better than it just being a light source for the map. When you clip through the light and the mountains you land up here. The white dot is the Collective HQ beneath and up is the Roekaar hideout. Ha, makes sense. Reyes probs kept tabs on the Roekaar hide-out (what an amazing hide-out too, seeing how it’s not even hidden) for who knows how long. He was probably racking his brain how to eliminate the Roekaar in the most advantageous way when it occurred to him that he could use Ryder. These lights sources in all caves are intended to simulate sunlight getting through cracks anyway, so secondary route makes a lot of sense. It would spell disaster is something bad like a fire happened and the only route out was the one small door. Lol. The crate would be open on the underside and trap Ryder. Comment from the salarian: Don't ever bother us again. Perfect. And not too harmful either, expect to Ryder’s pride. Non-Reyes shit quarantine : The angara were created in 1600 BCE, the Scourge arrived in 2400 CE (in-game codex). Neat. So have I misrecalled the age of the Remnant structures or did like the Voeldian Angara just miss these gigantic vaults being erected in within the eye-sight of their podunk villages? Divergent cultures? Sounds cool, aliens (or indeed humans) that aren’t monocultured. Imagine seeing any of that in the game. Lol not even the wiki has anything on this, nobody cares. I read that a lot of whiskey is in its prime after 10-15 years. Now to find suitable grain and barrels. I‘ve seen zero rye or barley fields on Kadara or anywhere, so Reyes needs to hold his horses for a while yet. Oh, so who's the lucky one, Vetra? Or is she staying single? She would’ve chosen Vetra, but… I have now deleted MEA from my computer. I feel a bit bad for what was supposed to be my definitive canon Scott Ryder, whom I utterly abandoned after exhausting Reyes’ content, but I just didn’t enjoy playing anymore. Still, I should’ve replayed some of the Scott/Reyes stuff for a last hurrah though. The blissful, foolish smile after the Tartarus dance scene is good final memory for the pt, however. :dirty: My brain insists that Reyes calls them a dick, but that can’t be, not in a mild-worded game like MEA. Trust your brain . He says "You know Ryder, you're kind of a dick". Huh, who’d’ve thunk? Well, there it is. He sounded rather bemused when he said that anyway, so I think he's not too upset about Ryder being a dick. Hmm, an elevator system. That might be still a bit too sopthisticated for the operation. It's in a cave and all, they'd have to do quite some digging to make the shafts. Besides, riding out of the base on top of a crate with the help of some makeshift equipment is so.. outlawish and piratey. But what if they actually use the crates to cover the damn hole in the ceiling? it must be raining on Kadara sometime I meant those simple industrial platforms that don’t require shafts – still sufficiently pirate-y when lowering or lifting something that needs a bit more stability. I doubt they’d need any ceiling covering, since it isn’t probably a direct gaping hole revealing everything to the sky, but more of a winding tunnel system with cracks here and there. The building is weatherproof anyway and the crates are moved to the side of the cave. Yeah, now it only remains for the Collective mastermind that made this incredibly useful and educational setup to come out of hiding and state their purpose (and maybe laugh because how high were the chances someone . Surely Reyes didn't have it designed just to test Ryder's morality and restraint? There can’t be that much entertainment, especially since some of them are forced to stay in the cave for weeks, remember? The salarian rigged the system up on a lark. The reason he was nervous about Ryder was because he feared they might press the button too many times and cause the payload fall prematurely. Who knows who their primary target was? Yet surely Reyes would at least get a laugh out of Ryder suffering this minor indignity? It would also mean an extra companion (hopefully an interesting one) and Reyes somewhere around to keep an eye on the operation. I don’t know what you’re talking about w/r/t a companion, but yeah Reyes sending an impostor to pose as the Charlatan to High Noon is what I meant. Ryder wouldn’t know that Reyes is involved in the whole gang rivalry in any manner and as such wouldn’t be swayed by his potential friend’s/boyfriend’s presence. Reyes couldn’t do anything, but facepalm and curse his luck, I guess. For the aftermath, I think it would’ve gone like I believe Reyes always intended to do, i.e. invite Ryder for a meeting with the Charlatan and then reveal and explain everything in person. If you mean Reyes sending his fake-Charlatan to do stuff with Ryder for some reason, I can’t see how that could benefit anyone. They would just need room for their illegal activities, or not even illegal because under whose jurisdiction does Kadara even fall? Storage for stolen Nexus goods, maybe. So not even an influence thing. I don’t mind, since this time the younger partner is our character. Stuff like Tali/Shepard always felt skeevy as fuck to me, because she felt so incredibly young (younger than Ryder) and BioWare really played it up, too. So Ryder can be naïve about their pirate boyfriend, but less dumb about other things. Maybe. I can resist easily, the French Reyes isn’t all that appealing after having listened to him at length, and my mental vidya_gaem_husbando.txt has been updated of late anyway. For my Ryder though, it might be too late anyway, since I think I missed one Vetra flirt opportunity and she apparently needs every single one of them. Rip femRyder, she never scored. Part of the charm, really. I'd think he's losing it big if he'd start to mope about how bad and shady he is. Some characters are just not meant to do that. It would be fairly ridiculous, yeah. Probably none, but you could either execute them on the spot or drag them to the Nexus for trial, I guess, or deliver them to the Kadara Port for frontier law sentencing. Lol, a bit like when Legion lets you decide what to do with Benny. The point would anyway be about seeing Reyes’ reaction to such a thing, how’d he let it be handled, whether Keema would comment and what the people would say about that in turn. No one said anything about law and order mode. There’s going to be a decree of governance regardless of whether the Outcasts or the Collective + Keema are at the helm, and the Port citizens probably expect them to do things like make sure that they aren’t eaten by cannibals at the very least. If not, there’s a new coup a-comin’. That’s it exactly. And in the end he’s one character that the Charlatan couldn’t charm. Shit, that's true, isn't it? And Reyes tried so hard. Maybe he should have tried personally. good medical personnel must be hard to come by. And how big is the chance he never visited the doc anyway? The doc did seem like a person that wouldn’t be charmed by Reyes and his style, so that might just make things worse. Reyes doesn’t seem like a guy to get into violent squabbles, so maybe he’s been lucky enough to not need any care personally. I wanted to see where this goes xD. Everyone does. save for orchid , apparently. Orchid knew that it would go nowhere. :|

But Reyes didn't know Ryder would be in for the show, so unless there would be an opportunity for Ryder to mistreat him so bad he'd run to the bathroom crying and hide there with drastically lowered self-esteem for months to come, I don't see how their relationship could reflect in the scene I think this should be influenced by other things, such as destabilizing the situation with handling the quests poorly or the like, so that Reyes would not be self-assured enough to come out of hiding. I wonder what Reyes would do if the agent lost, though. He's obviously be off the hook as far as the Collective hunt goes, but could he actually do anything else than watch the Collective disintegrate and try not to throw something at Ryder, who'd obviously be absolutely clueless as to why he'd been so mopey lately? The AI is probably not amused about many things happening on Kadara, but who cares? They've got their outpost so they'd better keep their traps shut I don’t know what you’re talking about w/r/t a companion, but yeah Reyes sending an impostor to pose as the Charlatan to High Noon is what I meant. I thought about both of these, but I still think the High noon impostor thing would kind of ruin his takeover show-off thingy. I can only see him doing that if he didn't trust his own plan enough to go himself, or maybe as some last-minute thing if he realized Ryder's coming with Sloane. Guess he could've switched with one of his agents, but that would be quite hard to explain afterwards, especially if he still wanted to propose that deal to Ryder. He'd generally be dragged into more and more lies like that. The agent would benefit Reyes pretty much, since he'd get involved in whatever Ryder is up to without personally risking his not-that-warriorlike butt, and could focus on managing the Collective, doing shady shit and occasionally serving as decoration on Rydder's bed. It would be a nice compromise between him as a squadmate, which is still a bit unfitting, and him just doing his own thing wherever he happens to be. But what about those pods on Meridian? Those were angara 2.0 or something? Or some useless creation leftovers the Jardaan didn't care about cleaning up? Nooo, he wouldn't, when has this ever worked as a threat on Ryder? Especially if you add the *wink wink* It keeps things interesting as long as he doesn't overdo it. Sure, thing a will surely get incredibly interesting when he blabs out the location of their secret super-weapon or the like Maybe Reyes actually uses his natural inclination to be talkative to spread all the useful rumors. It's better than being smashed by it. It's true that would downright kill their mutual relations. But I think it goes against the Charlatan's "be good to the Pathfinder" directive. It's hard to form an alliance when someone's underlings cause your getting stuffed inside a box, no matter how much it is your fault. The salarian could've said something, after all Ha, makes sense. Oh, it's hidden alright. There's the wall and all Those Roekaar didn't look like the brightest of Roekaar cells anyway. Aw, I like that thought. Reyes measuring the situation, waiting for the most advantageous moment to end those oh-so-hidden Roekaar (the downside, of course, is the growing count of casualties). Ryder simply had great timing with the murder, but I think he was going to find them something to do anyway. Lol not even the wiki has anything on this, nobody cares. Come to think of it, I don't find it very lol-inducing. It's weird, almost to the point it looks like a proper fuckup, that's what it is. I‘ve seen zero rye or barley fields on Kadara or anywhere, so Reyes needs to hold his horses for a while yet. Maybe he needs to cut down on the clandestine gangy stuff and start incentivizing agriculture I meant those simple industrial platforms that don’t require shafts – still sufficiently pirate-y when lowering or lifting something that needs a bit more stability. I doubt they’d need any ceiling covering, since it isn’t probably a direct gaping hole revealing everything to the sky, but more of a winding tunnel system with cracks here and there. The building is weatherproof anyway and the crates are moved to the side of the cave. Ah, those. Yep, they'd probably be consistent with the theme. Hmm, it kinda looks like a gaping hole to me, the kind people can fall through right to the base, to be precise, which may be the biggest danger of the hole, not actually the weather. (Hopefully at least those prefab houses can fulfill their function in the new galaxy. But still, if it rains there's going to be water all over) It's like having a huge shutter-less window on your secret hideout. But sure, who'd go looking in those parts of Kadara. But now I'm sure I'll have to go check it out with flycam There can’t be that much entertainment, especially since some of them are forced to stay in the cave for weeks, remember? The salarian rigged the system up on a lark. The reason he was nervous about Ryder was because he feared they might press the button too many times and cause the payload fall prematurely. Who knows who their primary target was? Yet surely Reyes would at least get a laugh out of Ryder suffering this minor indignity? That makes sense. Maybe that's why the Collective agents are so ingenuous. But why would the salarian resist so much, then? Shouldn't he be bouncing about seeing his work finally delivering fitting punishment to random button mashers? Unless the system wasn't still unfinished or something, that is. Primary target, huh? What if he built it to entrap the Charlatan? Hee, I can almost hear him laughing at this. Ryder's the young one, after all, they have to be forgiven for doing juvenile shit like that. They would just need room for their illegal activities, or not even illegal because under whose jurisdiction does Kadara even fall? Storage for stolen Nexus goods, maybe. So not even an influence thing. I don't think the Nexus leadership would be happy about that, or about the Collective anywhere near the AI interests. Or that they'd care what is or isn't their jurisdiction after a while. I can't help but think they might start appropriating more than is their due once their foothold on Kadara is established. I must admit I never managed to care about anything Tali-related as much as I should have, my only maleShep romanced Jack, but I've heard some scary rumors Anyway, it's not a bad change, yep, although I'd still prefer to RP it as if Ryder knew very well what they were dealing with, maybea bit level-headed and reckless as far as their shady bf and his activities go, but not really all starry eyed and not having a clue. Poor Reyes. He speaks French for a while and suddenly all the magic is gone. Who took over the .txt now? (Not like I don't have a tip, but still) Probably none, but you could either execute them on the spot or drag them to the Nexus for trial, I guess, or deliver them to the Kadara Port for frontier law sentencing. I don't think the Nexus would want anything to do with some exile cannibals, they'd probably be like "wtf did you drag here, Ryder, space it" Legion offers way more options, here we'd probably just witness Keema sentence the guys to death and be done with it (but what about the children? ) the people would be properly shocked and afraid to stick their noses into the badlands and Reyes would stay in the shadows, possibly being glad this bullshit is over. But it would be one more thing to have some sort of impact on the Port, so it would still be good. There may always be anew coup coming, as soon as there's someone sure enough about their position. They may not gun for the Charlatan, but Keema, perhaps. Might be interesting how Reyes would react to it. The doc did seem like a person that wouldn’t be charmed by Reyes and his style, so that might just make things worse. Reyes doesn’t seem like a guy to get into violent squabbles, so maybe he’s been lucky enough to not need any care personally. A fair point. I wonder if Reyes would ever have succeeded if Ryder never came in, though. Orchid knew that it would go nowhere. :| Orchid might have been wrong, then, it definitely goes somewhere, a frustrated, jittery salarian is the goal I think the pictures help though. I watched them again after my little replay and I had forgotten the original Deus Ex theme plays at the very end. The MD ones you just have to watch until the middle part. Oo, something happens in the middle? Thanks, I'll keep that in mind You mean the theme I mistook of Bob's theme? (But I think it's described as such in the credits) That may be the reason I can't find it anywhere. You took a shower and watched TV all the time, didn't you^^? It's next to the bed, in front of the mirror. No revolver there. I only watched TV as long as my tolerance to Eliza's prattling allowed, and that wasn't much. I think I prefer the radio But I admit I'm out-of-character disappointed the shower scene only seems to be a one-time occurrence. Too bad Jensen can't do more stuff, like eat cereals Turns out I was a bit confused as well. Ah, so it doesn't look well for the women either way. I got the impression there was some other way around the system than either killing or stunning those poor things (I ended up cutting their life support because I didn't care to kill them one by one, actually). Well, there's probably no way for them to live through that, so it's not like they could count towards Jensen's kills, that makes sense. The guards pissed me off a bit, though. There I am, showing all possible restraint to just punch people in the last fucking battle and boom, they get themselves electrocuted no matter what The electricity thing was fun with the EMp shielding, though, it felt a bi like cheating but what the hell Yay, check the signs. It will be interesting to know if they're so shitty as those in Prague, years later. Only if he could entice Pritchard to come with him. I can’t see Jensen being happy with a defeat, is all, and why train kittens when there won’t be any more missions anyway? He’s so stubborn, and I don’t know if they’d give us enough player agency to chance such core attributes of him. Although I can’t deny I wouldn’t be tempted. But if were someone as insufferable as Page offering the bribe, it would be impossible to agree. Well, hopefully he'd not back away till he gets a big island, where even Pritchard and all his computers and hobbies can fit But agreed, if it felt too much like defeat than probably not. I was thinking more of a situation where the Illuminati would have taken big enough blow not to stick their head out again for years to come, or it would generally just come off as the convenient thing to do. But now that I think of it I can't figure out how not to make it look like Jensen said fuck it all and left the world to it's own devices, which really doesn't fit him. Every kitty can benefit from good training, no matter whether there are missions or not. Besides, Jensen might enjoy it Federova might disagree with that, you know. I mean, you can’t even be mad at him at that point, it’s just sad. He might just as well roll over and be done with everything, what’s even the point anymore? Do tell, what were they laughing at? Could Megan be that callous as to laugh at poor Adam, considering her own circumstance? And Namir surely has absolutely nothing to laugh at. He’s probably always moping about losing Federova. Lol now I’m imagining Zhao cackling all by herself, while Namir is holding back tears and Megan just stares into her tea cup, hoping that Hugh would call her or something. Well, I think it’s pretty big coincidence. Also there’s a certain specific thing about the secretary that just can’t be a coincidence… Fedorova's dead (but was it ever explicitly stated they were together? Yeah, he might've said something like that in the fight, but I easn't paying that much attention to his prattling.) I actually supposed he was like that for the fight only, though, not that it was the state he was in for the whole game. As in maybe Zhao mounted him up there to be confusing or something. Well, he did seem pretty glad to be done with it, really. But He might as well bruise Jensen before he went, provided he cared about Fedorova bleeding out in the Eliza node Well, stupid operatives who stupidly stand around* and let people run from the blade they held on their throat yet a moment ago, of course. It's all the rage in villain circles Aww, you know, that mental image might just make me actually like Zhao. It's so cute, Zhao laughing at Jensen's idiocy, knowing all to well the the two beside her just sit there all "I want to go home". It seems like the only reason to even invite them at a tea party, since they aren't Illuminati or anything. * this situation made ma appreciate a certain pissed off Czech phrase, which translates as "(he) stands there like a dick" Till I got to that scene I never knew how nice and useful it was.Yeah, but Megan multiplying is a scary thought. Besides, how would her kids end up like Illuminati secretaries? Indeed. And it’s been a while since either of us made a move, even. Maybe we’ve reached MAD? I suppose the waiting part has started. Come on, there's still a long way to go towards "mad". Don't tell me you're losing it already. Aren’t you mistaking being cynical for being a full-HD nihilist? You can have a moral backbone while still believing that the world is a fuck, that large swaths of people are selfish & indifferent, and holding a general mistrust towards authorities that Adam prominently displays as per his character bio. Adam also doesn’t claim to be selfless himself or promote himself as a virtuous man but instead seems to have self-esteem issues; he just wants to help the only way he can. For the sake of keeping the topic chill despite dragging dictionary definitions in to it (always a dire sign on the Internet ), I’ll concede that the option to have characterization options as per the dialogue choices means that the player can color Adam a little bit to their liking, so when the DX marketers write that Adam’s cynical they don’t mean that he’s set in stone to be a devoted pupil of Diogenes or something, but just using the colloquial meaning to give a general impression about this character. Alright then, let’s hear how you would react to this, with Adam being absolutely 100% serious - don't tell me that it isn't precious af: Maybe I am, really. But that's how my brain learned to interpret cynical and no amount of dictionary definitions will successfully convince me not to see a "cynic who apparently gives a fuck" as a bit of an oxymoron. No doubt they can have moral backbone, they can even internally give all the fucks they want, but if it's so visible on them as it is on Jensen, hmm, not sure, that falls to the "bitter" category to me. Which of course results in arguing terms being ineffective. Colloquial meaning cover it quite fine, though. (Let me just say there would be something very precious about Jensen living in a barrel) Oh, but weren't we discussing cinnamon rolls? Chastise is the one conversation option that never works on me no matter what, so there's that. An android, that’s a new angle. (Hm, suddenly I’m thinking of Zhao’s augmentations.) Alright, alright. I get it, Sarif’s definitely the better of all the options shown. Which in my opinion makes him okay-ish, at least when compared to both the Collective and Interpol. Honestly, if I were Adam I probably would try to ask circumvently whether he’d just so happen to be in need of a security guy again (think how delighted Sarif would be). I've been accused of that for years now. What about them? They seem pretty much like convenient Hyron plugs that are just here because why the hell not? And while it may not be possible to say with the tech advances, she still burns like an organic pile of flesh is won't to Thanks, it makes sense now I thought the book was fairly short, though (wow, and you're still alive after all that typing?) I wonder why they made that into the novel, though, at least a part of it could've easily been MD and it wouldn't feel like there's a huge fucking inexplicable gap. Do they count on everyone knowing about the existence of some tie-in novel that explains everything properly? So many moments for Jensen and Pritchard to bond and nothing comes out of it, that's sad. But maybe it's meant to be later, in the most fitting circumstances I still can't dislike Quinn, though, he hasn't actually made the impression of the good guy in the Missing link. Maybe I'd have to actually read it. Lol at the ending. Jensen quoting Eliza... that must be a new low or something. Doesn't that even directly clash with his speech, quoting an Illuminati spokeswoman? Btw think the Collective will prove to be an Illuminati front? You may be right, after all. In MD, there's a possibility I'll just poke around Prague for eternity, never making it to Miller. I'd never do that to Sarif. Aw, yep, I think he'd be positively bouncy should Jensen want return, and how lovely would that be, Sarif like that - Maybe in a sequel? Jensen’s a curious guy. He likes to check everybody’s emails and personal notebooks, so why not go and check out these random quests, because he might find out something interesting. It’s probably how he relaxes in between the more serious business quests. You need to play more good games, if that’s your go-to reaction, you know. Heehee, yeah right. Far be it from you to admit Jensen’s adorable. Sure. But then he gets all whiny about the moral quandaries he encounters that way (would be easier if he didn't caaare you know ) and I don't know if that makes his day any better. Maybe if he manages to find a secret energy bar storage or something Change of games? Nah, games are fine, but if you have a recommendation, out with it. I think a change of planet might work just a bit more Oh, absolutely. There's nothing adorable about Jensen. Save for the coat. There’s no revolver, but there is something precious. It’s located near the mirror and the bed, beneath the floorboards, and within is that same pocket secretary that Pritchard gave Adam at the end of Black Light, and Pritchard has misspelled the word “manipulated” which for some reason is the most adorable thing ever. :3 By the way, if you got a season pack or other microtransaction junk, you probably have a special “classic” revolver in the storage (to the left of the inventory itself, sideways text) in the Inventory screen. I haven’t claimed mine, because weapons mean nothing to me, but I believe that’s the one. I'll look. I wanted to do that earlier today but Jensen had a bit of a situation with some thrash bins. It was pretty funny, I think it made up for that panic room idiocy once and for all ( still doesn't make him cute, though) Bah, I want to rightfully steal my revolver, or use my own one, I don't care for a consumable revolver. For now all I've found is ammo. It's getting frustrating, but maybe it's a sign I should stop poking around reading signs and accusing random policemen of being Russian mafia impostors, and actually visit the boss. Who's been waiting for several days or so now, poor guy.

Hmm. He’d just reveal that sike!, it wasn’t the real Charlatan after all? Or if the Collective fell over that easily, he’d just start anew with something else? There’s a reason though that nothing of the sort happened, I guess. I feel a bit bad at laughing at the idea of a frustrated and secretly enraged Reyes trying to control his temper at Ryder who hasn’t got an idea. A fake-Charlatan squaddie? Eeeh… It would cheapen the Collective’s reputation if people thought that the mysterious Charlatan was suddenly serving as an Initiative lapdog on Ryder’s ship, I think. It would also mean that Ryder would allow Reyes to have his fingers on Initiative’s all missions by way of this guy who’d be there surely recording every bit of information passed. Ryder surely won’t give all of it up to Reyes. Separate interests, to a decree, after all. But I think it goes against the Charlatan's "be good to the Pathfinder" directive. It's hard to form an alliance when someone's underlings cause your getting stuffed inside a box, no matter how much it is your fault. The salarian could've said something, after all He said something pretty many times, ya know. Besides, Ryder would be fine, they’d have the dust brushed off them and be offered profuse apologies. Come to think of it, I don't find it very lol-inducing. It's weird, almost to the point it looks like a proper fuckup, that's what it is. I think a fuck-up on that level is pretty lol-some. Maybe the devs will even take a moment to reflect on how to write decent lore for a RPG. Maybe he needs to cut down on the clandestine gangy stuff and start incentivizing agriculture Heehee. “Choose topic: crop rotation.” Hmm, it kinda looks like a gaping hole to me, the kind people can fall through right to the base, to be precise, which may be the biggest danger of the hole, not actually the weather. (Hopefully at least those prefab houses can fulfill their function in the new galaxy. A large hole, with another ceiling above it that only has the small “crack” (simulated by the lightsource), but probably tunnels leading to the sides, so that those crates could’ve been brought in. As shown in Zitrus ’ screencap, there are no gaping holes to the outside. That’s what I think, anyway. I said it already, because he was waiting for the actual target to come and start pushing. Who well might have been the Charlatan, who knows. Or Mr. Sniper Guy so that the Salarian would get a promotion. I don't think the Nexus leadership would be happy about that, or about the Collective anywhere near the AI interests. Or that they'd care what is or isn't their jurisdiction after a while. I can't help but think they might start appropriating more than is their due once their foothold on Kadara is established. Kadara is exile / native Angara interest first and foremost. The Initiative mightn’t like it, but I don’t think they couldn’t dress it as if the Collective were encroaching. They must also pay lip service to the Collective-Nexus alliance. Anyway, it's not a bad change, yep, although I'd still prefer to RP it as if Ryder knew very well what they were dealing with, maybea bit level-headed and reckless as far as their shady bf and his activities go, but not really all starry eyed and not having a clue. Poor Reyes. He speaks French for a while and suddenly all the magic is gone. Who took over the .txt now? (Not like I don't have a tip, but still) “Not having a clue” isn’t really what I’ve been meaning, more like turning a blind eye. It’s been months since I RPd that so what ever the fuck, I don’t remember what even happens. What can I say, it’s all about voices for me. The French VA just isn’t all that beguiling, is all. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (And to be completely honest, my ear sort of started getting caught at English Reyes’ not-real accent, suddenly.) For the .txt, there’s three of them, each insanely hard to guess at. There may always be anew coup coming, as soon as there's someone sure enough about their position. They may not gun for the Charlatan, but Keema, perhaps. Might be interesting how Reyes would react to it. True, but it’s still less likely if the Collective are half-way decent about running the town. If Keema was the direct target, Reyes might protect her- unless there were definite advantages to letting the new player depose her. He’d need to be sure at least that he could control the new person as well or better as he can Keema. Orchid might have been wrong, then, Being frustrated and jittery is the default state of being for a Salarian, so nothing gained there. (Concept: a super chill Salarian squaddie. With biotics. In ME1 they claimed that several Salarians got into zen due to its resemblance to their own beliefs – an older guy/gal that’s at peace with the universe. Would replace in Ryder’s squad any of the trash humans or Jaal the entire Angaran species.)

MEA has some relationships for the PC that are very interesting, well written, not tooo much and Reyes is one of them. I playing always with Scott and every time it is not easy to do not takeing the Romance Dialogue s. Both are a nice couple. In particular when Ryder accepts Reyes and do not want to change him. However, the lack of screentime for Scott Male Romance is very disappointing. This romance miss a little bit the question where exactly this romance will go. But I have this question in every romance from Bioware. PC and LI never saying what they are imagine for a life together. ME3 did it but this could be better. I am wondering how it will work with Scott and Reyes? Is Scott moving mainly on Kadara? Reyes moves on the Tempest? Is Scott involved by the Collective, helps in some cases?

I am wondering how it will work with Scott and Reyes? Is Scott moving mainly on Kadara? Reyes moves on the Tempest? Is Scott involved by the Collective, helps in some cases? Agreed on all accounts. Not to mention the glitches that Scott/Reyes animations have... That's a fun question. When I was playing MEA for the first time, I for some reason expected that somewhere close to the end Ryder could choose which planet they could set up their own home on. Kadara seemed good for me. The Tempest doesn't have that feeling of home and its Initiative property anyway; Reyes would at most visit on some pretense of business making. Ryder will likely be very busy for a very long time and gets sent all over the cluster, but a nice little house on Kadara would be suitable for vacations. A place where Ryder could also come home to (a bit like Sisko and Bajor on Deep Space 9). For Ryder and the Collective, I'd like a variety of options, including Ryder getting minorly (or hell, why not majorly) corrupted, whereupon he and Reyes would make a shady power couple, committing all sorts of illicit or semi-legit exploits together. In this scenario Reyes would move the Collective towards the Shadow Broker's style of operations, maybe combined with the assassination stuff forming into semi-legit merc services modeled after the Blue Suns and the like. There would be great RP potential there, especially if the hypothetical sequel had more emphasis on politics and factions and the like. A more moral Ryder could still find a justification for dating Reyes, maybe making some demands about his practices ( but not Reyes himself! Ryder already accepted him as he is) while using the alliance with the Initiative as leverage (no more torture shacks in the Badlands, or the Nexus will be recall their ambassador, I don't know lol). That would put strain on their personal relationship, but IMO it could still work. Anyway Ryder's personal (vacation) home n Kadara would be somewhere reasonably close to the Outpost, but still hidden in its own valley, by hot springs - for reasons. Reyes would visit anytime Ryder was on the planet. Also I imagine Reyes having a little hide-out for himself at the port or the slums, containing the nerve center for the Collective's operations, with a Shadow Broker style set-up - as a show of trust, Ryder would of course be welcome there as well. Depending on how well being the Pathfinder pays, a place on the Meridian for Scott or the both of them would also be on the table. What would your Scott do, Dukemon ?

I have in my mind that Scott and Reyes sharing an apartment or something similar. This is what I can imaging. Scott is still the Parthfinder and continues his exploration and spacing of Heleus. But using one or two opportunities to stay for one night by Reyes. Maximum two nights, because Scott has an important task. That is how it is. In generel I would say the Tempest is still his home. His room on the Hyperion could be used often by Sarah but is shared by both. In contrast to the written Scott in the game, I prefer it that Scott has learned very much about KIs after he and SAM a very close. (It was terrible how Ryder is dealing with SAM during the game. There where moments Scott could defend before prejudice, but he never did anything with SAM. Scott should have improve the safety measures from SAMs after the Quest with Knight) He should be often in the SAM core. (btw. I do not know how to handle with the Kett. Their whole plot is boring, bad written (they have an advantage, when the story wants they have one. no matter it has a lack of sense. the Parthfinder and the others ignoring the lack of security after things happens. i.e. Knights attack on SAM (how I can prevent next time? this could help at the end). I am ignoring them after the archon is dead. They are finished.) and superfluous. All quests on Kadara and Eladeen were more interesting and better written than any of the Quests with the Kett. Finally, I cannot say as much, because the lack of information about Meridian in the game and about what exactly the Ai wants to do now. Shame on EA that they have closed MEA! But Scott and Reyes staying a couple, Reyes is not a betraying character in my point of view. That is not his style. What would the other Scotts do? Well, with Gil he becomes stepfather. Sarah will not be amused, I think. She will talk with Scott. A lot. ^^ This means when they are not on the Tempest they will have a home. xD Or not, if Gil was advised against it to be father because of pressure from Jill. Than they will live happily together on Tempest and else where.

A home on Meridian is pretty likely if Ryder is interested. Liam mentions the sign up for housing. Aww. Did you keep the saves in case you want to revisit the game one day? I usually do, even if I don't end up playing the chars again after all. He also didn't know for sure Ryder would not show up. It's always good to have more than one plan. Lol, yes not being mean like that but doing/saying enough things he disapproves of. It doesn't have to disappear as long as the members stay and don't leave because of this temporary defeat. He could stay the independent smuggler and make money while a new plan is being hatched. Of course they have to be careful out in the badlands and should look for new hideouts. But what about those pods on Meridian? Those were angara 2.0 or something? Or some useless creation leftovers the Jardaan didn't care about cleaning up? Nooo, he wouldn't, when has this ever worked as a threat on Ryder? Especially if you add the *wink wink* I thought something like blueprints. And then the Jardaan had to leave quickly and left them there, thinking they'll never be discovered. Ryder knows him better than before now and should be able to see the signs . Maybe he needs to cut down on the clandestine gangy stuff and start incentivizing agriculture Heehee. “Choose topic: crop rotation.” After the activation of Meridian everythings is blooming in the ending video. So maybe this is all that was needed. If not, there are other planets or they can build greenhouses. Food and drink production should be profitable, good for negotiations and makes them more independent as well. Can also improve their public image. Hmm, it kinda looks like a gaping hole to me, the kind people can fall through right to the base, to be precise, which may be the biggest danger of the hole, not actually the weather. (Hopefully at least those prefab houses can fulfill their function in the new galaxy. This light looks pretty big, I don't know if cracks are enough. They do have those generators, so maybe it's some kind of lamp. No, there are no holes, it's empty, we're not supposed to see the inside of the mountain anyway and there are surely more tunnels we don't get to see either. Those caves must be big. But then again, Sarif is salty in MD that Megan went to VersaLife instead of sticking with him. If she wanted, she could’ve attempted to replicate her earlier research w/ Sarif even with lesser resources, which would’ve helped Sarif get back into relevancy. I think she had employment opportunities to choose from, despite what she said. Did you btw notice how Sarif’s description of what happened to SI in MD differs from Black Light’s version? Adam shakes his head slightly during Sarif’s monologue, so I wonder if that’s intentional or just a miscommunication between game and novel writers. (And then there’s the supposed last lines spoken between Pritchard and Jensen that go different in the book than what Adam claims in System Rift.) Yes, he's understandably not happy she left like this but then again the way he tells it the company went bankrupt fast. Seems like the other scientists jumped ship as well. Page probably had a hand in it that VL was her only other choice, TYM bought the competitors. No, I was lazy the past week and didn't read. I'll keep it in mind. She really ought to realize the danger by the time MD takes place though, and yet she’s still as clueless as ever. I think she wants to be clueless, actually; it’s an excuse to get to do all the insane, unethical stuff she knows is wrong, but doesn’t want to admit being a twisted fuck. It made for a lot of hilarity, only it’s too bad it wasn’t a code name for some person for more joke opportunities instead of just a product. That could be the case, she willingly blocks out how harmful her research can be. Just like she justified using Adam's DNA without telling him. Have you gotten the art book? I keep waffling whether or not to get it. I’d like most of all to see character concept pictures and anecdotes, but art books like these most often have mostly stuff like some machinery details, weapon designs and so on, not so deeply interesting to me. No, but I found there are reviews for such books where people show every single page. You can even read some of them (that detail about a char I don't want to spoil is readable too, so careful^^). Oo, something happens in the middle? Thanks, I'll keep that in mind You mean the theme I mistook of Bob's theme? (But I think it's described as such in the credits) That may be the reason I can't find it anywhere. Yes, at the very end. This one. I only watched TV as long as my tolerance to Eliza's prattling allowed, and that wasn't much. I think I prefer the radio But I admit I'm out-of-character disappointed the shower scene only seems to be a one-time occurrence. Too bad Jensen can't do more stuff, like eat cereals He has to save water. He also doesn't watch TV again, except in the dlc. Oh, he eats them later. Try again when you return to Prague from your first assignment outside the city. Indeed, this procedure doesn't do any good for their lifespan in any case. Hehe, I had the EMP shield as well, I was glad. I've looked a bit and the signs in the streets are all in English. There's a tavern with a correct name but they should have made it "Taverne", would have been so easy. And I found a beer brand (of course) which translates to Strongest Beer with the slogan strongest beer in the world and something else I can't make out. Bit of a silly name lol. The city feels very tiny, too. Yeah, but Megan multiplying is a scary thought. Besides, how would her kids end up like Illuminati secretaries? If Megan had kids, I suppose they’d utilize any contacts she’d have. It’s getting to be pretty desperate at that point of the timeline anyway. Lucky to be among the small circles. Aye, I find it harder to not see her kid ending up there, it's already set up so nicely. Also Zitrus does Jensen do something special if you sit through Eliza's entire news cycle on the couch on the first morning? I got tired pretty soon and had him stop. Lol if they put in some reward for watching all of the propaganda. No, he keeps drinking his coffee and she keeps repeating the topics. I shut her off when she started to do that for the third time.
