Have they learned nothing? It don't think this is about M.E. Remember, he is (I think anyway) a producer on Anthem. But yea, I wish that word didn't exist.😑😒 Yeah, I assumed this comment meant BioWare in general, not specifically ME. I know BioFan asked if he was on Anthem now, but he said "Not necessarily". Maybe it's still up in the air what he'll be involved with next.

Have they learned nothing? They have to start building hype for their next project now that Andromeda is over. While it may appear to be disrespectful, it's nothing personal. Businesses exist to make money, not to be friends with their consumers.

Pretty much...he's done with Mass Effect for now, per the comments to BioFan he doesnt appear to be connected to Anthem so it's either: 1) ME stuff that is in development but can't be announced yet 2) Dragon Age stuff that can't be announced yet or 3) Something new that can't be announced yet So, yep, "#soon"

Businesses exist to make money, not to be friends with their consumers. Oh, for the love of... no, businesses/companies DO NOT exist to make money. Yes, they also don't exist to make friends with consumers but they have a very tight relationship with them because the consumers are the reason they exist. Businesses exist to satisfy a demand. Making money is a side effect of that. If a demand exists and a business satisfies it, great. If it doesn't exist, the business can try to turn hell over on its head, barely anyone will care. You can see this in any industry out there. Stop saying that businesses' sole purpose for existing is to make money and consumers should just deal with it. Businesses exist at the whim of the consumer, otherwise they can't be held accountable for what shitty practices they can use. You think a marketing strategy sucks, by all means, tax them. They try to sell you something you don't want by implying you actually do (as if they know you better than you know yourself), prove them wrong.

Seeing people complain about no DLC on every goddamn tweet of Bioware & Mass Effect is starting to get annoying. We get it, you're not happy with the decision. I'M not happy about it as well. And I'm sure the folks at Bioware aren't happy about it as well - and now they have to endure you yelling at them in the face on how Mass Effect has been abandoned, just like how everyone yelled at them in the face on how Mass Effect was ruined as a franchise 5-6 months ago. You can at least try not to make yourself miserable about this & make the people at Bioware feel less miserable about it as well.

They wanted the fans to use social media to talk to them, and that is what is happening. Stringing along the fans for months like that just to squeeze every nickel and dime they could out of them in MP only to throw them to the curb and then act like they did nothing wrong was a horrible move on Bioware's part and those who are upset have every right to be. Bioware is reaping what they sowed.

EA's stink is all over that. BioWare Montreal obviously had it's issues but there definitely felt like a behind the scenes push and pull on this one.

It happens with every Bioware game. we don't have to go that far to be honest. just look at anthem and the people already bitching about it. once it's out nobody is going to care anymore about andromeda's sidequests or companions or whatever they don't like about it now. it'll be the last SP game bioware made so it'll automatically be better than anthem

It really is fascinating watching the perception of BioWare's franchises and how it changes over time.
When DA2 came out, people lost their minds of the recycled environments and claimed it was super weak compared to DAO. When DAI came out, people were suddenly praising DA2 up and down. This has only worsened over time with the bizarre revisionist history regarding DAI we see today with people acting like the game was a flop and a failure, rather than BioWare's best launch to date.
Mass Effect 3, as others have said, had people angry for a full 5 years. Now it's happily lumped in with ME1 & ME2 when they use 'TEH TRILUGEE' to bash Andromeda.
BioWare fandom rule of thumb: the newest game in each franchise is always the worst, and the previous one is always superior.
Hyperbole aside, I do genuinely think it might be down to a new game having different strengths and weaknesses to the last one, causing people to reevaluate their views of the previous game and recognise it's strengths, rather than hyperfocussing on it's weaknesses. Lots of people found DAI's companions to be less interesting than DA2's, only then realising that was something DA2 did very well, etc. etc.
If and when ME5 releases as a linear shooter with no open worlds, vehicle gameplay or new aliens, you can bet people will suddenly start praising MEA.

I don't think it is people changing their minds and being inconsistent but rather simply different people liking and speaking out about different things. I have always liked ME2 and 99% of ME3 but will always remain disappointed by the ending. I liked DA2, especially the DLC and the characters, but found a lot of problems with the last chapter being nonsensical and the reused environments and sheer amount of bugs with the skills was somewhat embarrassing. ME1 didn't have very good gameplay but still told a good story so I enjoyed it for 1 playthrough. I very rarely like open world games so DAI and MEA were not really targeted at me but I enjoyed them to some extent. My position on these games has never really changed much at all. I will never be praising MEA's open worlds although I am completely sure that people who did enjoy them will be lamenting the fact that they are gone (if the next ME doesn't have them).

I will never be praising MEA's open worlds although I am completely sure that people who did enjoy them will be lamenting the fact that they are gone (if the next ME doesn't have them). If you had more "open world" in the sense of Habitat 7 - where it woukd funnel you towards a specific direction but allowed choiced exploration - and had Nomad side missions like the Asteroid, I think you'd have a good balance. I thought Habitat 7 allowed for some great use of the jet pack and combat while still keeping the narrative mission-focused. I think it started to lose its focus on the Nexus/Eos missions where the journal points and exploration were all over the place and spread out. I think if you have a bunch of Habitat 7-like planet missions, along with the provided companion/main missions, that would have been a much tighter narrative/game. Additionally, you could scan planets for anomalies that would lead to Nomad missions on the planets surface with each mission having something unique to provide. Finally, when mission is complete, you could opening explore whatever you wanted post game but it wouldn't be essential.
