I didn't want to create a new thread just for this, so I'm going to ask this here: Is it confirmed that there will be no sequel to Mass Effect: Andromeda? The only thing we know for sure is that ME is on hiatus. So nothing happening in the immediate future at least. Apart from that, they really haven't hinted one way or the other. They may not know themselves yet. Plus, BioWare's got a lot on their plate right now with Anthem and the inevitable DA4; hence being on hiatus. |

The only thing we know for sure is that ME is on hiatus. So nothing happening in the immediate future at least. Apart from that, they really haven't hinted one way or the other. They may not know themselves yet. Plus, BioWare's got a lot on their plate right now with Anthem and the inevitable DA4; hence being on hiatus. And SWTOR, everyone always forget about SWTOR. |

And Edmonton is the one working on Anthem and DA4 (even though DA4 hasn't been officially announced yet) and would mostly likely be the one that would work on any new Mass Effect game. BioWare haven't been a "one studio = one game" company since DA2 released in 2011. Austin have a good chunk of its devs working on Anthem right now and they even have opening/hiring for the game there. It's not just the SWTOR studio. They also worked on DAI and MEA. SWTOR is currently gearing up for a new expac, so its going to eat devs from other teams early next year most probably. As for Edmonton being the ones leading the next ME games, why wouldn't they? The creative director, over half the writers, the art lead, lead combat designer and 2 of the 3 producers of MEA were in Edmonton... |

Not enough to actually build a new game from scratch, just developing within an existing engine and such. They're not much of BioWare's 'capacity'. |

If Anthem & DA4 turn out be highly successful, there may neither be the will, nor the staff, to get another ME in the works in the near future. I won't buy it - not my cup of tea - but if you are a BW fan you want it to succeed.
