Ahh wait is this that glowing half circular barrier that you see in the very first gameplay video? The orange one which covers the player while he uses flamethrower. got it thanks mate. I was sure it would have been a tech ability

charge, infiltrator cloak, nova. Mwah-ah-ah! If there's a cloak upgrade that lets you use one power and remain cloaked, you could go cloak > charge > nova/shotgun... Kaboom. I am become death, the destroyer of worlds

I was sure it would have been a tech ability If you really think about it every single active soldier ability is ''tech'', I mean explosives, armor and weapon powerups. If I am not mistaking in ME3 powers like grenades and concussive shot would even get bonuses from tech power damage, cuz there were only tech and biotic amps.

I have it all planned out:
Step 1) Play as Scott and focus on an engineer/soldier hybrid. Step 2) Play NG+ as Sara and level up my psychic ninja talents. Step 3) Play NG++ as God

Any less time, and I won't feel like I earned the raw, destructive power to smite my enemies in any number of creative and visually appealing ways haha

OP is now updated with the full list of vanilla SP skills. I'm pretty surprised by the absence of warp - seems that biotics are going to be at a significant disadvantage against shields and armour, unless lance turns out to have a 'pierce' evolution like warp had in ME3.

Very interesting. I am going to miss Reave but was never a huge fan of biotics. No AR may suck to but find it likely that either Turbocharged or Marksman could effectively replace it.
The big question is it looks like some theories are right that the profile skill is accessed separately. Likely the down d pad. But what is telling is that tactical cloak and charge aren't profile skills. So what replaces them for infiltrator and vanguard?
Also anyone know what that biotic shield was? Backlash?

Is barricade a new power? Kinda, but not really.. This power is a mix of elements from two powers from ME3 - Hex shield and Supply pylon. *insert "you must construct additional pylons" joke here*

I always liked the idea of biotics more than their implementation, at least post ME1. However I will miss the warp/throw combo. Seems like tech skills are going to be more useful unless you want to play as a vanguard. The shield is definitely backlash. It mentions creating a biotic aegis in the description.

With no level cap and seeing all those +50%, +150% bonuses all over the profiles and stuff, I expect an easy mode even on highest difficulties very fast in the game...

Trawled through that trailer to pause and read up on every power they showed the description for... Slideshow of all featured powersIs barricade a new power? Kinda, but not really.. This power is a mix of elements from two powers from ME3 - Hex shield and Supply pylon. Also looks like it has an ammo count as well as being a power in the same way grenades have done since 2. Very interesting. I am going to miss Reave but was never a huge fan of biotics. No AR may suck to but find it likely that either Turbocharged or Marksman could effectively replace it. I think really a large part of it was them trying to somewhat get away from Biotics being just explosions, of which Warp was pretty much the go to power so stripping that out encourages people to experiment. I'm liking the idea of Charge > Annihilation > Charge (Provided the cool down penalty for other powers whilst Annihilation is active isn't too debilitating).

I'm liking the idea of Charge > Annihilation > Charge (Provided the cool down penalty for other powers whilst Annihilation is active isn't too debilitating). I guess, but the utility of biotics has see-sawed throughout the trilogy. In ME1 they were OP so they watered them down in ME2, where their lack of utility against protected enemies really hurt their appeal. For me, ME3 was a good balance. Protected enemies were still resistant but combos made up for that. Now, without warp and reave, it's going to be tough to prime biotic explosions on protected enemies unless you want to play a CQC character.

ProbeAwayIf you really want to go with explosions in MEA, looks like go to for long range caster will be singularity > Lance (which sounds like upgraded version of warp that apparently gets headshot bonus ) DayusMakhinaIf MEA's annihilation field is anything like the one in ME3, combining it with Biotic Charge and Nova is going to be ridiculous (seriously...things melt down in seconds with that combo in ME3, even the biggest bullet sponges...)

Do we have a screenshot of the description for Lance? I'd linked to an album with all the powers in one of my previous posts, but that was probs pretty easy to miss so here's another: imgur.com/a/6OTixJus so you don't necessarily have to scroll through them all, here's Lance:

So from the description it doesn't seem like Warp really, it doesn't do extra damage to armor or barriers, it's just straight damage and a detonator. It's a biotic damage projectile that sets off explosions and closest ability to that from trilogy is warp (could be it's rank 6 evolution that exchanges barrier bonus for headshot bonus? idk /shrug)

Conversely, Throw was also a detonator in ME3, I wonder if it's still a detonator now. Hard to say considering they merged it with pull, could be if you just tap it (firing just throw)

Oh, you're right...I don't know why I saw them as being one ability (the part where she picks enemy up and throws them confused me )

Pull only lift and then pull to you stuff, then you use throw to throw them away.

Some observations from the gameplay trailer.
Warp is gone. RIP Warp. On the one hand, Warp was a boring power. On the other hand, it was very useful, since it was a debuff, a primer, and a detonator. (And don't say that Lace is the new Warp, it shares nothing with Warp other than being a detonator. Neither is Annihilation, that's a returning ME3 multiplayer ability.) What does this mean? It means that pure biotics users will once again be in a serious disadvantage against shielded or armored enemies, since there'll be no way way to prime these enemies with biotics in ME:A.
Happy to see the clever Pull + Throw combination where a held enemy is thrown against other enemies. I guess it remains to be seen whether this is actually useful on any of the higher difficulties or just something that looks neat.
Passive abilities rely on spending points in a given tree branch. I guess this makes sense, since I'd only max out weapon passives from the combat tree and ignore the humdrum powers otherwise.
No more tech combos? Overload, at least, seems unable to prime a combo. It's possible we'll only have fire/cryo/biotic combos, if that's the case. Maybe not.
No more headshot decapitations. Too bad.
Interesting biotic teleport(?) (non-power based, likely a dash upgrade) happens a few times throughout the video. For example, just before the hammer smash. Possibly a profile-tied passive ability?
Overall, looks good. As long as we don't run into ME2 "biotics are useless on higher difficulties" again, in which case tech will be the tree of choice for Insanity playthroughs. Let's hope Bioware manages to strike a good balance this time with how useful biotics are.

I'm new to this thread, so I wasn't sure if it had already been discussed. For reference, it's this icon: Do we know anything about it?
