Does anyone know: Is nova considered a melee power? i.e., does nova become more powerful with the vanguard bonus? Or is it a biotic power (it becomes more powerful with the explorer profile)
I kinda need to know this for a build I have in mind :/

I think i found something cool with Cryo Beam and the Remnant Cryo-Gauntlet. The Cryo-Gauntlet benefits from the snap freeze upgrade. Which is really cool because u can just punch, shoot, and every one around that guy just freezes. Very interesting. Do you have to have Cryo Beam equipped for this to work, or is it enough to just have the points in Snap Freeze?

While we are on the subject of cryo beam: the rank 6 cryo trap evolution is disappointing.
I thought I would be able to spray it all around groups of enemies so that they end up getting caught in it. However, the beam auto targets enemies so you have to point it well away from them to set the trap. That only makes it useful if you know specifically where enemies are likely to go.

PillarBiter: There is no such thing as a "melee power". There are powers, and the melee attack.

While I love my Shockwave/Incinerate/Energy Drain Sentinel I do miss the single target damage of the Piranha/Overcharge/Tac cloak.
Then again the Piranha build does have some anti synergy with the healing aspects and Cloak.
Once this new patch drops I will be trying out a Energy Drain/Incinerate/Overcharge build.
Hoping it will have the core of the Combo spam while still letting me burn down those Fiends and Behemoths is reasonable times.

PillarBiter : There is no such thing as a "melee power". There are powers, and the melee attack. Then why did I gain my 'kill X amount of enemies using melee' trophy after I did a nova kill? :/ also, im definately putting that cryo gauntlet thing in my build

So it turns out the hybrid build of Energy Drain/Incinerate/Overcharge worked best for me.
Ran Helios Defender for armour (gun and power damage).
5 Combat recharges in melee, Bio/Seeker/2 x recharge in Piranha. Tech recharge in all the armour. I did it because diminishing returns means anything past 100% bonus recharge loses a lot of its benefit. 50% recharge in chest. Weapon augments could be a substitute for gun damage, something to test.
As I suspected the loss of weapon damage from no Biotics (30%) and Combat Cloak (poor uptime) didn't have a huge amount of effect on my sustained DPS. Overcharge, tech rounds and a Piranha wasted Fiends, Destroyers and Ascended in a couple of clips anyway.
So I have found my perfect build right before the patch comes and rewrites everything and I have to start from scratch.

Mixed faux krogan merc / turian havoc build blitzes and destroys EDIT: Insanity
Playstyle: Aerial bombardment then swooping in and mopping up the trash.
Skills & Profile: Flamethrower / Turbocharge / Flak Cannon spec for stun. Combat Tools spec for DR & melee, then eventually Combat Fitness & Team Support. Soldier profile
Weapons & Gear: Falcon augmented with Plasma (non seeking). Eagle secondary. Shield Oscillator Chest augment; restores 20% shields on kill
Squadmates: With Cora's Shield Boost a Cora and Drack team is probably best for this mobile aggressive playstyle
Though Ryder is considerably less tanky than MP chars, has fewer consumables and cannot be revived, the Plasma Falcon does 2x its non augmented damage, explodes groups of mooks and can eventually be much more accurate than in multiplayer

Does anyone know if 'Biotic Effect Duration' affect the defensive and offensive buffs of Charge and Biotic Warrior

Something to note in case nobody noticed it the first time.
Your passive skills can scale with the more points you invest into that tree that the passive comes from, for example the more points your invest into the combat tree will overtime increase the damage increase you get with the shotgun passive up to like 60% at max combat tree (Somewhere around there) and snipers are 40/41% at max combat investment.
So yes your dahn shotguns, vanquishers, isharays, assault rifles, hurricanes can be doing more damage than what they are capable of on top of amplifying them further with TC, turbocharge, biotic charge and using either the soldier, explorer, infiltrator profile to do even more weapon damage. So there's that to look forward to when you start power creeping to insane levels.

I need a good idea for an infiltrator build.
I already have - an explorer build with turbocharge, cloak and nova - an adept build with annihilation field, charge and shockwave - a sentinel build with energy drain, shockwave and incinerate.
I kind of want to use an infiltrator build for sniping, but other than tact. cloak, I can't think what else to put on it. The rules are: only combat and tech skills (since an infiltrator is combat/tech). I'm kind of leaning towards concussive shot and overload. This way I get the cycle: 1) tac cloak 2) killshot with isharay vintage clip which overloads and resets tactical cloak due to adrenaline fusion mod. 3) quickfire an overload and concussive shot to take out the shields of my next victim and knock him down for an easy 4) tac cloak and killshot with the isharay.
But maybe there are better skill combinations for a sniper? Any ideas?

But I did try out Cloak + Incinerate + Overload, which works for every situation. Also tried a shotgun Infiltrator with Cloak + Turbocharge + Invasion. The first profile felt more tactical, the second one was great fun for total devastation.

Yeah, but I already have the explorer profile (and 2 others), so I need a fourth profile which does something different. After some thought, I think I'm going to try tac cloak, overload and remnant vi. Only remaining question is if I go with infiltrator or engineer. The infiltrator's see through walls thing is nice, as well as the headshot bonus and cloak evades, but the engineer adds some defense and boosts my bot as well as aligning better with the chosen skills (all tech)... Decisions, decisions.
