Alec Ryder 'DadRyder' (Official Thread)

I thought that was a dwarf at first

I'm thinking headshape/eyes shape/lips etc will be based on Ryders too. If not, we could end up with hilarious "mama Ryder milkman scandal" results where the kids are for example, completly white while the game script makes Alec an asian. Lots of things can be programmed easily, for example if the player picks one of the hairstyles marked in the files as a black hairstyle. But if the sliders allow full eye customization there's no way to determine what exactly the player had in mind.

Unless the twins customization will involve (modifiable) presets too, all marked

I do assume though that every-race-Alec will always have a beard regardless

But how will the game know which preset to use based on your Ryder twin? Easy with things like eye color, but not racial-exclusive shapes like asian eyes.

I cannot find the original thread (I think it might have been moved or I'm not using the right search term), but in the GameMaster February article, it said, "Your custom character influences their sibling's look. If you want, you can give the Ryders a hereditary bum-chin." Not sure if that automatically changes the dad or is strictly limited to the twins so we'll see.

Same here. I seriously hope we don't lose Papa Ryder at all! But if he has to go, I'd like it to be later, towards the end, so I can at least get to know him. That way when he dies it will really affect the players. Because I loved DA2, and Carver and Bethany, but one dies way too early in the game! I didn't even know them, so it didn't bother me so much.
I hope ME:A changes that, and really makes me care for Alec.

Agreed. I hope we will get to know Alec before anything happens to him. I mean, they got Clancy Brown to voice him, so they got to keep him alive for a while. Right? RIGHT?!

Alec Ryder and Gamlen are both DILFs.

The only difference is that in Gamlen's case, it stands for "Dude I'd Like to Forget".
