It's hard to say from just reading that little line they give you in the description. But I can't imagine they'd give just bonus content in the guide and say it's worth the extra money. I didn't buy the Inquisition one, but if they gave a little extra content in game for that via the guide purchase, then I'd think they're doing it again for Andromeda.

The DAI guide had a few extra pages of 'dev insight', if I recall. That guide also had a multiplayer random pack offered, not sure this one will.

It does have comments from Bioware employees. I have a copy. It has comments from employees about who to take on what quest to get some interesting dialogue and other tips for whatever quest. For me, it was worth purchasing.. I might get the collectors edition for MEA

The DAI hardcover edition did, but such content is not listed this time.
"Dragon Age Inquisition: Prima Official Game Guide Hardcover – 21 Nov 2014 Premium hardcover edition includes additional pages of ‘Behind The Scenes’ content, interviews with BioWare, and exploration into the ‘Making Of’ product with Dragon Age partners. Also includes Bonus Digital Content."

Thanks for the responses, that is what I was thinking as well. I might have to see what the additional content is like with the Inquisition guide, for the developer insight sounds interesting.

I'm buying the deluxe edition. Unless it comes with a downloadable strategy guide I doubt I'll get it. Deluxe and pre-order already gets me extra content, as do the AI briefings. I can't imagine there's much more to get.

Prima guides are very, very inconsistent in terms of quality. Some of their guides are okay, but a lot of them are awful.I was very disappointed when I saw that Prima would be doing Andromeda's strategy guide. Hopefully it turns out alright, but I'm very skeptical of that.

Whats the point of a written strategy guide if in 2 weeks after release there will be much better ones on the interwebs by people who actually played the game and know how to find the most effective strategies? (outside of money, of course. I don't have a clue who actually buys those)

The Mass Effect 3 Collector's Edition Guide also come with bonus content, which was just developer commentary, Q&A and some art. I think this will be the same with Andromeda's. As far as I know it doesn't mean bonus content in the actual game pertaining to the Collector's Edition, which again as far as I know only comes with the remote control Nomad(?) Pearl you are so right about the varying levels of quality about Prima's guides. I got the Dishonored 2 one, and there are just so many mistakes and rushed through bits in it. Sometimes its better to stick to guides online that come out slightly later but are more thorough and detailed. I've found vg24/7 do good ones.

First novel brought forward... The way they are releasing this first novel is confusing. Is it a prequel or not? If it is, why isnt it releasing BEFORE the game comes out the same way Mass Effect Revelation was where it released a couple of months before ME1 release. If it is not a prequel, will there be MEA plot, character, location, and lore spoilers if I read the book?

Going by the name, I'd guess it'll be about how Sloane Kelly and her lot from the trailer get kicked off the nexus
Looking at the Amazon page, the cover says "official prequel", but while the description says "The action will weave directly into the new game, chronicling storylines developed in close collaboration with the BioWare game team. The action takes place concurrently with the adventure of the game itself, setting up the story and events of the game adding depth and detail to the canonical MASS EFFECT saga."

I might be reading it at night while my wife is sleeping, rudely cutting off access to my gaming setup. I'll probably wait, though. If I sleep, too, I can rise early and resume gaming even earlier.
It should add some interesting depth to Sloane Kelley and some of the pre-arrival backstory. I likely won't get to it before finishing my first two playthroughs, though.

I'm not worried about spoilers, in this case. I expect this novel to cover events that predate Ryder's arrival in Andromeda. I could be mistaken, but that would quickly reveal itself once I began ready, and maybe even beforehand.

According to Amazon.ca this book is released the day of the game's release. Why aren't they releasing the book earlier? I can go into the game even more excited, instead of reading certain events after I've played the game. I'm not sure how many purchase books outside of the game, but this was an opportunity to convince people yearning for something Mass Effect to buy the book before playing the game. I'm definitely one of those people, I'm not sure if i'd buy the book now once the game comes out. However, I 100% would've if it was released prior to game's release. It seems like a missed opportunity. What are your thoughts?

It's possible this book contains something spoiler-y as far as the game goes, I suppose. But I get where you're coming from. It was nice reading the other books before the relevant games launched, then noticing tiny references (such as the Migrant Fleet being so anti-Cerberus in ME2).
