Mass Effect Andromeda books & comics (Nexus Uprising 'soon')

I wouldn't mind an outside author, but they better know the games and the codex inside and out. Fanfic writers are fine, as far as they go, but I've seen few that can take on the task of actually writing a book about their particular subject.

Me too. I like the art Darkhorse has for the ME and Star Wars comics. It's great.

I own both ME libraries and will no doubt get the next one when it eventually comes out.

looks interesting. I guess maybe there is something shady about the andromeda initiative. I'm really looking forward to seeing how this plays out. 

I think I know what you mean--more of semi-realistic look that is popular in most superhero books, which is basically the bulk of the comic book industry. I guess it's just the style that kind of balances the real with the exaggerated the best? 

I dunno, most of the time I can take or leave the style--it's nothing to write home about most of the time, but when you have artists who do that style well, like Jason Fabok or Ivan Reis, it's great. But when it's bad, you get guys like Rob Liefeld... 

But yeah, for this, the page looks decent--it actually looks a lot better than some of the earlier ME comics, which were kind of a mess. It's sad that they can never seem to get any big, solid artists for these books. Makes sense in a way--those guys usually either want to do the BIG books or their own thing. I think the closest we've gotten was Garry Brown, who did a one-shot for Garrus in Homeworlds who eventually did a stunning run on Catwoman, and Chad Hardin, who did the DA comics who later on became a big name for drawing Harley Quinn.

(That reminds me, I should make a comic book thread over in The Lobby. I wonder how many people would chat about that...)

Again with the surnames, well it is true that some overlap.  

Haven't seen anything on this. The book is apparently set within the game's timeline, that is to say, its events take place alongside the game's, as per the Amazon description:

IIRC, none of the older books were that way. All took place in-between, but never concurrently.

I guess I'll be reading it after my first playthrough of the game.

This is rather awesome and further adds to my own theory that the AI is full dodgy and the reasons for going to Andromeda is a massive coverup that was discovered during the games timeline....makes the whole 'let's just gap it to another galaxy for seemingly no reason!' null and void (which is tasty IMO).

Yeah, I've been worried about spoilers from the book too. I think I'm gonna wait until I'm done with my first playthrough or until Bioware or someone says it's safe.
