''Cuddling with Witch Wife'' I doubt Morrigan is a cuddly type of person. Lol Morrigan likes cuddling (who not?), only she rarely shows it. Exactly!Who doesn't? My friend Catilina knows "'Tis cold in my tent, all alone.I'd love someone to cuddle with!" was the original uncut phrase

My friend Catilina knows "'Tis cold in my tent, all alone.I'd love someone to cuddle with!" was the original uncut phrase I never said she doesn't like it, I said she isn't a cuddly person. I'm not exactly the cuddly type either, I like it but not for too long. But anyway, who knows? We can only guess. The only one who knows for sure how Morrigan is in private is David Gaider. I wouldn't use that dialogue as an example tbh. She wanted to have sex, not to cuddle with the warden. She probably didn't even love the warden at that point. Although I suppose it depends of when you fought Flemeth and if you romanced Morrigan before or after that fight. I usually romance her early and wait until just before the Landsmeet to kill her mother, that way it feels like she gradually fell for the warden but in the beginning it was only lust and nothing more, something I think fits better with Morrigan's character.

She is in my canon. But only for the right person Everyone's entitled to their own belief. If we couldn't even create our own stories with our beloved characters,or fantasize,or whatever you wanna call it,life would certainly be less bearable! I know what she was alluding to.I'm not particularly cuddly either(except for my pretty Witch and son ) but i do consider myself the joking type,so i was making a joke! Lust can certainly be attributed to her,and it fits her independent character,(she even has that discussion about the pleasures of flesh with Leli if you've been romancing both)but for me while it initially was so,it became deep and profound love. And i mean, leaving my own canon aside, would she really let the Warden come with her inside the Eluvian were it only carnal desire? Isn't that one of the greatest and magnificent charms about romancing her? Making the self-reliant Morrigan fall prey to that "weakness" she calls love.

I also love Morrigan's friendship arc. When she realizes, that has a friend, who doesn't want anything in return for kindness, and how she love to use that word later!

I am playing through DAO again for the first time in years, and installed the mod to add the witcher 3 armor and outfits to the game. I love the starting armor Geralt has in Witcher 3(hate the DAO leather armor), and felt it would look great on my Male Cousland rogue. When Morrigan finally joined the group, I decided to have her wear Yen's outfit. It looks so good I head canon it as Cousland buying it for her as a gift to wear in colder climates. I would love to see a mod with Yen's DLC outfit since it has a raven theme much like Morrigan's robe and dress(from DAI).
Its funny, I never really thought about how much the two have in common until I put the outfit on Morrigan. And after realizing their similarities, I can't believe how I missed them especially since Morrigan is my favorite video game LI, followed by Yen.

And after realizing their similarities, I can't believe how I missed them especially since Morrigan is my favorite video game LI, followed by Yen. Yen and Morrigan have a lot in common indeed. Both are sarcastic. Both can be cruel. Both love their kid and a man (well, Ciri is adopted but it doesn't change anything and Yen always wanted to be a mother while Morrigan never imagined herself as one). Both are extremely powerful and have more knowledge than they'd want us to know about. Both are also always against "the common rule" either of the world or magic-world -> Morrigan is against the Circle and ways to control the mages, Yen is against the Lodge and its connections made to control the political world. Both had legendary teachers -> Morrigan had her mother, Flemeth; Yen had Tissaia de Vries. I gotta admit I was suspicious if DA-Morrigan writed didn't read The Witcher series because of all those but Morrigan is still... less complicated due to the Warden being less complicated than Geralt (let's be honest - it was Geralt who left Yen, it was him who slept around and it was a destiny that brought them back together over and over again) and Morrigan's past is still way better than Yen's.

There is a certain charm about a black haired sorceress.isn't there? Definitely prefer them to the redhead options. I seem to favor the type who challenge my PC instead of fawning over him. When it comes to The Witcher, there's more than "fawning"... or should I say it's different, it started in a different way. CDP Red made a terrible choice by forcing Triss into our throats. I've read the books before I started playing the game and I was disgusted with TW1 and the major part of TW2 (until the point where we can stop this sick "relationship") because Geralt was NEVER interested in Triss. She forced him into sex by magic which is literally... a rape. And she did that to see what Yen had. She then worked with the lodge to get Ciri, preferably by the cost of Geralt's and Yen's lives, so the lodge could force Ciri into getting pregnant and giving birth to a child the lodge would raise and use. She was literally ready to kill the only people Ciri loved and who loved her to get what the lodge wanted.
The only good thing CDPR did with Triss is this little conversation in TW3 where Triss admits she's used Geralt (and his amnesia) and then she actually helped them with The Wild Hunt - battle of Kaer Morhen.
Morrigan is nothing like that. And the redhead Leliana is even less similar to Triss.

Had I read them before, it would have ruined my enjoyment of the first two games. But even before knowing Triss' past I did not care for her. She came across as being in love with the idea of Geralt and her as a couple, not the man himself. And to some extent I feel it is the same with Leliana.

I think she's simply attracted to Geralt and nothing else. Fringilla was the same tbh. But she was actually able to deal with the fact that Geralt loves only 2 women: Yen and Ciri. Leliana never gave me such feeling. She's a romantic, that's for sure. She felt a bit naive for quite a while too. But I think she's geniue. What both Triss and Leliana lacks is passion. Yen and Morrigan are passionate. My dash did the thing yesterday with... source

Wow, I that like that! It would be interesting to hear what other "spectators" reminisce about the Warden and Morrigan or the companions reflect on the story of their "courtship". I bet Leliana could spin it into quite a tale.

Yeah, it was such a waste and shame they didn't make Leliana interact with Morrigan (and Kieran, if he was there) in DAI.

My dash did the thing yesterday with... sourceText is from The World Of Thedas Volume 2(p.83) for anyone interested. Morrigan is a great and caring mommy, plus an amazing and supportive partner Wow, I that like that! Certainly is...'Tis also quite unfortunate you cannot talk to Kieran alone. At least,i find the stare Leliana and Morrigan exchange between them each time you leave the war table a nice touch.

Swear to God anyone comparing Morrigan/Leliana with those two worthless trash-witches from the Fetchquester better get the hell out of my face.
Those two are nothing but cold, calculating bitches where both Morrigan and Leliana have more of a depth to them than anything that Pole ever wrote.

Even though i have all the witcher games and some of the books i haven't gotten around to playing or reading any (the majority of people i've heard have only praised the series tbh),so i don't really have an opinion here.Though,Dragon Age being so close to my heart i'd certainly jump to its defense anytime(not to mention the aformentioned characters! ) That being said, mikaelnovasun and izut seem to be great fans of the Witcher and unfortunately your attitude is a tad aggresive(i guess this ain't your day),dear Pathfinder! There is no need to offend anyone.I myself would feel awful were that said about Morrigan and Leliana(or just the series in general)...

I don't really feel offended and I'll explain why. The Witcher Games are way different from the books. TW3 did a very bad job at showing how devoted mom Yen is and how much Ciri loves Yen (she was a mommy's little girl, she even called herself Ciri of Vengerberg) although Polish version at least shows it a little bit in words while English not so much because the translation is... kinda poor. But I can't fully blame the translation since it's very difficult and sometimes impossible to translate Polish to English when it comes to the Witcher world because of the canon phrases that are simply untranslatable. TW was made by an author who took many things from Polish folklore, myths, legends, pre-Christianity times and the times where Poland was a communistic country under the Soviet Union so people who didn't grew up in Poland and never experienced anything similar won't get it. AND, since many things can't be translated, they're "made up" in English to make at least some sense in the general story because the censorship under which Polish people had lived for 45 years was common in phrases - people needed to find a way to say whatever they wanted without ending up in danger. Those things also exist in the Witcher world. It's a combination of folklore, history, myths, legends, wars and communism. TW is understood differently by West and East thanks to all of that. So I can't blame someone who doesn't see what I see because we come from completely different cultures. We grew up in completely different worlds. I've tried to read English version of the books and nope, it's not the same at all. You can get the general feeling but it lacks the depth that is felt in the original version. One way or another, we discussed this "thing" on CDPR forum and people were all "the game failed when it came to Yen&Ciri", even in Polish version which is way better than English. Don't get me wrong here, whatever I read in English translation being the original and then trying to do the same in Polish, I end up stopping because the native version, English, is way better than Polish due to some things being untranslatable to the point of giving the same feeling and depth. The original meaning is lost, no matter how much translators are trying. And yes, I'm a huge fan of TW. It can't be different. I'm a part of "The Witcher cult". I grew up with it. I knew the story before CDPR even bought the rights to TW world. It's a huge part of my life. Now, if someone didn't read the books at all, they don't see even this general story, they don't know canon TW characters that are different from the games. But I must say, TW3 did a good job at presenting those characters as one by one. Yen was made amazingly. So was Geralt, Ciri, Triss, Philippa, Emhyr, Radowid etc. Hell, they even brought Regis back! You can't even imagine how happy I was to see him alive and well (the last time we saw him was during Geralt & Co. rescuing Yen and Ciri from Vilgefortz who captured and tortured Yen to the brink of death over and over again - Regis saved Yennefer's life by standing between her and Vilgefortz - he end up as a pool of blood on the wall). Thanks to all that, those people (who didn't read the books) can't compare Morrigan and Yen. When I played DAO I was like... "I've seen this before" and was asking myself if Morrigan's author didn't somehow read TW. It's impossible of course, but some of the similarities are very close. And if I had to chose which one is better - Yen or Morrigan - it'd be impossible for me because I love both of them. They're equal to me. But if you'd ask me about Leliana vs Triss, I'd pick Leliana for sure and not because she's deeper or anything like that, because once again - both characters are very deep. It's simply me knowing TW books and what Triss did, what she was going to do etc. I detest her and absolutely love Leliana (although not as much as Morrigan so Morrigan vs Leliana = Morrigan 1000%).
