So, we start out with a ship and the Nomad. Everything else we must find, steal or manufacture / craft ourselves.
Two items stuck in my mind. One is the Initiative Briefing video that mention the Nexus needs to be completed in Andromeda. The second, is the gauge indicator showing the completion status of the Nexus (in the DEC 1 cinematic gameplay video).
Now, I ask, why bother with the Nexus construction when it seems to have everything? Unless, its completion is necessary to win the game which explains the exploration focus. It's possible that completing the Nexus gives the colonial forces the "strength" to repel hostile attacks and win the game. I believe the very fact that we have a Nexus completion gauge makes it mandatory to do so.
Thoughts on this?

Like in any RPG....over preparation, over preparation, over preparation.
Complete everything, mine everything, max out everything....and then start the main campaign LOL
By the time I get to act 2 I plan to have levelled and built everything humanly possible, by the time I start NG+ I plan on having maxed out anything possible and then use my first ng+ to max whatever I was unable to max out in the first run....by NG+ number 2 I hope everything will be maxed out for me to just enjoy the process of min maxing my character and squad for maximum effectiveness.

Calling it right now - the Nexus, upon completion, will serve as the Mass Relay back to the Milky Way. And thus we travel back to the milky way and along the way we get side tracked and pulled near by rogue black hole drifting in dark space. Creates a time dialation sending us back in time and then when we arrive at the Milky Way it is millions of years ago and we have become the reapers. Please no.

Chances are the plan had it that during the 600 year transit to Andromeda, the sister Mass Relay for Nexus was going to be built. However after the departure, obviously things happened that would have delayed or stopped that construction until Bioware decides that it is time for the two to connect to each other.

Yes I can see it...point is, how are they gonna deal with the mess they made with the milky way? By mergin all the endings as I predicted as a possibility in 2012? God....Evil Chris owes me an apology

God....Evil Chris owes me an apology Nah... I think they'll keep adding installments in Andromeda; and then end the series completely with whatever installment we're allowed to actually finish our Nexus Relay. The last scene will be the Tempest entering the new relay returning to a Milky Way where each of us will be the only ones who know what ending we chose. (Fade to black). The "state" of the MW galaxy will never been shown in the series. Alternatively, upon entering the Relay, we'll be able to again choose our ending to Mass Effect 3 (i.e. tell the game what sort of state we want the Milky Way Galaxy to be in)... However, this will still only occur in the last Mass Effect game Bioware intends to release so that, again, we'll never actually get to see the effects of the endings on the Millky Way galaxy.

I think it will be done sooner than that, but we'll just see the people coming from the Milky Way as the games expand further and further into Andromeda. That really only limits it down to a few choices they need to address and can do it with not much issue.

Destroy and Control, sure, but Synthesis and (assuming BioWare are still adamant about "no canon") Refuse require a bit more explaining. The Rachni, Genophage, Geth, and Quarians can be ignored, I suppose, to varying degrees, though not without varying degrees of hand waving and the chagrin of the fanbase. BioWare can easily just lay the Milky Way to rest, and I don't see why they wouldn't.

Or maybe completing the Nexus turns it into a massive super laser. That should give us an advantage against any hostile locals. "Now you will witness the power of blah blah blah, just blow up the planet already! Spent eighty hours farming palladium to complete this thing and now I want some carnage!"

IF Nexus will become Mass Relay to connect to Milky Way, I think it's cool. Now we have way to communicate with our home & many possible plot open for Next Game.
But I don't think we can build prefect Mass Relay (In ME3 we still cant make new mass relay). maybe it still cost more time to travel (But less than 600 years, maybe days or months) OR It will have cool down before we can use this relay agian.
Since Dev. told us we still continue to play even after Main Plot is complete. maybe This should be side quest that Ryder can do or don't (we still know that this project is on progress in MEA and can complete after MEA without Ryder)

And we know that the people on the Nexus need exploration to find compatable worlds.

i hope that completing the construction of the nexus is not the main mission nor one of them, i don't want to explore huge maps just ot find crafting materiasl or resources to build the nexus, that's duty of the construction workers or scientists, please not another crucible or boring exploration

If Bioware made a completion bar it means that it would be in your best interest to complete it, no matter if common sense might suggest that this might not be the wining strategy... Like gathering all shards? Calling it right now - the Nexus, upon completion, will serve as the Mass Relay back to the Milky Way. That's a joke, right?

and totally useless until the Milky way build their own (mass relays works in tandem). Even if it was more of a Mass "Catapult" that could slingshot ships to high speeds without another Relay... anyone wanting to come back to Andromeda would still have to build another one on the Milky Way end, or else make the 600 year trip all over again? Would probably be a lot easier to create something like the Gate Bridge in Stargate Atlantis.

You're assuming they would leave without first building the Nexus' twin relay. Unless it was exceptionally well-hidden like the Crucible, would the Reapers have left it alone? They were targetting anything that moved in ME3.

Like gathering all shards? More like the EMS or Inquisition's power. Ubisoft got their radio towers, Bioware needs something too to strengthen their brand... Personally I would rather have them not be there at all takes away the imergence feel. BTW can't stand those Radio towers. I always ran into them (not literally running but you should get the meaning.
