Yeah but there aren't any classes per se. It sounds like the profiles are just a way of setting your own power loadouts that you can switch between (whether through a menu or with a button). For instance, you might be able to set up a 'soldier' profile with three unlocked combat powers, as well as a 'vanguard' profile with 3 powers that mix combat and biotics. It's possible that they could include that as well as a power wheel, but unlikely IMO from what we've seen and heard so far. Besides, what would It achieve if you could just access all six of those soldier/vanguard powers from the wheel (or the number keys on a keyboard) anyway? My point about the button mapping was merely that the shoulder button power toggling wouldn't work with the controller setup shown in the gameplay trailer. They may well use the touch pad on the PS3 for menus, although bear in mind that they won't use it to implement a significant gameplay function (e.g. a power wheel) that isn't accessible on Xbox or PC controllers. I know there aren't any classes, but Bioware did say that they would have "profiles", IE, Soldier, Adept, and so on, that you can either use stock or use to build your own cross class. Also, the touch pad on the PS4 is often used to bring up menus, tap one side to bring up weapons and another side for power. Games generally use it because the Dual Shock 4 lacks a select/back button now in comparison to the Xbone and last gen. The back button could serve as a button to bring up a menu; not to mention there's still L3 and R3 with fully functioning buttons. And with the squadmates not having abilities mapped in the gameplay trailer, it seems highly unlikely that there'd be no way of being able to fine tune exactly what the rest of the party is going to do besides moving between points. That's what I'm saying, tho. It sounds like there is no 'stock' anymore. And I never said that the touchpad wouldn't be used to bring up menus, I said that the shoulder buttons won't be used for toggling between powers like they were in DAI (assuming that the controller mapping stays similar to what they were using in the gameplay trailer). But getting back to the power wheel - these were takeaways from people who had access to the N7 Day Game Informer article (I can't access the actual article, so make of these what you will): NeoGaf (Shinobi) - Pausing returns but only for switching weapons or using consumables; powers are instead hotkeyed for quick use in combat while squad commands are in real time (There's also a bit in this post about the profiles and lack of classes) Penny Arcade - Global cooldowns are replaced by individual timers, and all of your powers will have hotkeys instead of a select few; no more pausing to bring up the power wheel and aim (The bit about all powers being hotkeyed is odd, since there were only three hotkeyed powers shown in the gameplay trailer) They're addressing squadmates in January apparently, so we'll presumably learn more then.

Actual journal entries would be nice. Not that watered down, pointless mess that we had in ME:3. What were they smoking when they came up with that idea?.....hmm. 🤔

- Light Romances (SWTOR) - Approval-system (DA) - Friendship-Rivalry-system & romances (DA2) - Different body types (SWTOR) - Being able to choose a background like you could for Shepard (Pre-Service History and Physiological Profile) - Good dialogue wheel (DAI had the best one so far, with the emotional responses. Sometimes the problem with Bioware dialogue wheel is they just give you three ways to say the same thing, instead of three different reactions.) - Being able to play a more dark character (JE, KOTOR, SWTOR) - Same protagonist for more than one game (ME) - Something like the Dragon Age Keep. - Wide variety of different armors (DA, SWTOR, etc). I hope we're not stuck with the same one spacesuit like Shep. - Mini-games like Swoop-Bike Racing (KOTOR) or something like the Pinnacle Station (ME) - Cutscenes for most conversations
