I have stumped onto something interesting recently. As we all know BioWare used Jayde Rossi's looks as an inspiration for Sara Rayder; the default protagonist's appearence is seen to be as repulsive and ugly by many, if not all gamers. What people may not be aware of is that BW actually made Ryder identical to Jayde, despite hundreds unfavourable ignorant opinions. Why would I say such a thing? They(BW) were given a photo without make up

why can't we customize Alec... why??? Every time I think I nailed the perfect face for my Sara in CC I look at that monstrosity and pick the default... Haven't seen if they did the same thing to Momma Ryder. Or does she stay the same because your twin can stay default?

ok, a question for those who have created custom Ryders with blonde hair.
I've notices with the blonde hair, at least in the opening sequences, in the dialogue scenes, there's some weird "flashing pixels" or something going on. Maybe it's clipping or supposed to be reflecting shadows on the hair. but there's some kind of weird flashing blocky "pixels" going on in the hair.
Its not noticeable with darker hair colors.
I'm on the PS4.....btw.
Anyone else experience that?

Until they actually give us options to create our own unique Ryders (not face scans you can stretch) from scratch replayability is not going to be enjoyable. I don't understand why they bother to have an archive when you know everyone just uses the same face but with different hair

..and trying to customize a male ryder.
Like wtf aren't all skin tones for all heads? What genius did that?
*picks default again*
This is so upsetting. I hate being in that CC.

I think the CC would be tolerable if they add in extra presets, widen the skin tone range, and add in some extra sliders like nose bridge width, eye width (horizontal and vertical), and make the hair not gender-gated.
I know we're stuck with the headscans for this game. They just need to drop the idea for future games. Hopefully DA4 has an amazing CC.

The last patch should have made human/eyes better...are there any screenshot where can one see the difference? I'm quite curious, I felt the eyes in MEA are a little...less than alive...

Do you think whenever the CC patch comes, it'll include those two hairstyles we can't have. Like Lani's ponytail on the Hyperion and the woman in Addison's office with sliver curly hair T^T

Seems they chose people with distinctive features and I think the scan may not read them all that well.

I've tried СС some time ago, before the patch came out. So many questions. So much "I'm too tired of this bull to care, let's just take a default option and get on with it".
Why can't I remove the second chin from one of the male presets? Why can't I adjust the obvious overbite? Why can't I choose different eyebrows|nose|eyes|mouth for a chosen preset? Why can't I modify ears and neck? Why are the eyes on the 1st male asian preset so uneven (while the female preset is just fine in this regard)? Why are all the male haircuts so mediocre and always leaving the forehead open (the question I've been asking since forever, not only in ME games, but anyway - why?)?
It took me literally a minute or 2 to make a pretty-looking custom Sara Ryder. She even looked fine in cutscenes. But then I switched to her brother... And after 15-20 minutes of messing with the presets and (very few that are there) sliders I just gave up. Bottom line: the CC is a joke if you are trying to make a decent-looking (according to personal taste) male character. You can still manage with female, but... it is to be expected, I guess. Females are almost always incredibly easy to make pretty unless you deliberately hit them with an ugly stick.

On a positive note, the asian preset is actually appealing. For the first time in any of their games I would say.

BW screwed it up, hence my previous post. Anyway, the Asian preset of female Ryder is much more graceful to work on, I suppose. I had started my first playthrough making my Ryder a remotely hot Asian chick Maybe it can be done with other faces too, but I don't feel like spending an hour to make it look "okay". It's too difficult and isn't fun, because of in-game limitations.

I kinda like that they used face models instead of Downs Syndrome face types. I just think it's a bad call that they didn't develop a system where nose types, eye types or sizes can be applied.

I would like to see additional options for
- eye shape - eye size - nose shape - eyebrow appearance/type - eyebrow colour - skin type (smooth skin, wrinkled skin. etc.) - ear size - ear shape

Well, I could think of a billion features I would like added myself. The one thing that is really important, however is that the camera perspective and more importantly the focal length gets fixed so that one gets a decent preview of what their character will look like in game!

I am frustraed because of the lack of facial hair (and hair) and how they are not seamless to the hair. I mean how could a deigner be pleaset with his work, when it looks like Ryder have no idea how to use a shaver? The presented facial hair styles are without alternative unsatisfying. DefaultScotts beard is used by CC created NPCs but is not part of the CC. :s These beards would I like to Scott. xldsimsdownloads.tumblr.com/facialhairs

I agree my Asian female Ryder is the only one after about 20 attempts to make a character that I like and don't cringe at half the time. What annoys me most is that the character you end up with often looks significantly different in the CC than in game. My 2nd play through it took me 6 false starts until I could actually play the game because the character had some quirk or complete change of skin tone that totally broke the immersion when playing.

tried yesterday... my god, the character creator is awful. every single male ryder looks like a stupid moron.
and the facial animation? I've heard it wasn't good, but... this is unacceptable. It's almost creepy, everyone is making weird smiles with wide open eyes... wtf.
The worst ever, given the times and the budget.
