[rant mode on] Ok, I know authors can change narratives or elements of their story as they want. It's their work and their writing after all. But good god, it's PAINFUL being presented with a fact in one game, then seeing this fact immediately contradicted in the next one. In ME1 we learned the Mu Relay is drifted apart from his original location by a supernova explosion. Then in Arrival Kenson states that a puny asteroid would destroy the relay by simply installing rockets on it and setting a collision course with the relay.
When a supernova explodes the kinetic energy, radiation and wind force is beyond the capability of our mind to comprehend, because the numbers and effects are extremelly out of proportion. We are talking more than trillions of yottatons of energy being release (trillions x 1.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000).
To give a practical example, try to imagine the moon colliding with the Earth. Besides taking a good chunk of the planet, all life would be extinguish, the planet would be killed and Earth mass would be reduced. But no, the planet would not explode or something.
A supernova explosion is at least 1042 times stronger than an impact like this!
So a mass relay can survive a supernova explosion but not a asteroid collision?
If someone is interested in learning what is the force and energy a supernova release, look here. For the destructive power, here. For a safe distance, here. And the TNT equivalent here. And yes, I'm a astrophysics and space nut. [rant mode off]
Since I'm doing a run that supports the Alliance no matter what, I need to play Arrival. And since I didn't recruited Tali, Thane and Samara I'm stuck at level 28 before geting the reaper IFF. But I like'd to have Garrus with me for his armor piercing ammo and the extra dialogs aboard the dereletic reaper and I still need one point for having the squad ammo option (he is stuck with 3). So I'm playing Arrival before the SM.
And I think Kasumi will be upset with me, because I losted the chance to experiment Jacob delicacies. Or she will be happy with me?
Anyway, here we go to find Object Roe. Wish me luck.

Melody Shepard, Colonist/Sole Survivor/Infiltrator, ME3 Insanity: This is a Javelin V with a level V extended barrel mod. Shepard's cloak is built for damage at rank 4 and sniper damage at rank 6; but even without the cloak, this gun oneshots even shielded mooks ... Versus Reaper Super Elites. Squad assistance providing Warp as a debuff and warp ammo helps to make this pretty easy. I wonder whether it's possible to stack enough bonuses to one-shot a Banshee with this gun? It may be possible to one-shot Armax Arena Banshees. If I recall, enemies in the Armax Arena have less health, armor, shields, and barriers than in the main single player campaign. I don't know what the actual numbers are, and I don't think anyone cared enough to look. If I recall correctly, some 'eyeball testing' done by players on the old BSN forums showed that a Sniper Infiltrator with the Widow could one-shot some shielded enemies in Armax Arena, but could not one-shot the same shielded enemies in the main single player campaign with the Widow (you need the Javelin to do it). So it may be possible to one-shot Armax Arena Banshees with a Javelin X with the right bonuses. If I can find the time, I may try it out since I have a Javelin X with at least one Infiltrator. IF I can find the time. If someone else wants to try it, be my guest. As an Infiltrator: 1. Javelin X 2. Spec Cloak for damage and sniper damage 3. Spec Operative Mastery for maximum sniper damage 4. Spec Disruptor Ammo for maximum damage 5. Take Fortification as a bonus power, rank 5 Power Synergy (increases Disruptor Ammo damage) 6. Javelin mods: Sniper Heavy Damage Barrel (I think that is what it is called?) for +25% damage and armor penetration; second mod probably the time dilation mod since it also provides damage if I recall, otherwise maybe the other armor piercing mod 7. armor: weapon damage and headshot damage (would likely need a headshot to kill the Banshee; could also test body shots with all weapon damage armor) 8. Intel: weapon damage I would like to see if you could do it without 8, or if you could do it with a Javelin V (probably not though).

Everything went smooth and now it's Horizon time. After that I'm not sure if I don't just want to do 5 side missions to get the Widow asap and do all the remaining recruitment/loyalty missions with that to get the most out of it. But maybe I'll also already play LotSB. Decisions, decisions! My recommendation: play five side missions (preferably with little to no combat) to get the Widow as soon as possible. Recruitment missions are the longest missions and tend to have more combat, which means more opportunities to use the Widow! Lair of the Shadow Broker is also lengthy. This is why any unplayed Firewalker missions are good. There are five Firewalker missions, and only three needed to get the Biotic damage upgrade). I always recommend playing N7: Anomalous Weather for the third Damage Protection upgrade (unlocks Hard Shields upgrade). The mission kind of sucks but the upgrade makes up for it. It's garbage for sniping anyway since it is too foggy to really snipe well. Generally in all my playthroughs, I try to get to the Disabled Collector Ship as soon as possible so I can use my bonus weapon for as many missions as possible. On the old BSN forums, someone did the math and you can have your bonus weapon for about 75-80% of all missions if you get it as soon as you can.

Jeph Shepard, Space/Sentinel/Butcher of Torfan: - After fighting off those things the Harvester dropped we had to go to the wall inside the base to prevent Reapers from breaching it. Got to face off against this new thing that was so huge it had to be part krogan. Or yahg. Head was tiny, though, and looked more turian. Acted like an ape, pounding its chest. Also knocked me off the barricade. I've faced krogan, headbutted them when necessary, but who knew what this monstrosity could do? By the time we finished with it, General Corinthus still couldn't reach Primarch Victus. I wasn't interested in waiting around and asked Garrus to take me to the last place he'd seen Victus. Saw some terrifying views along the way, life taking out a frigate and god knew how many people with it. Garrus pointed to a flaming orange spot on Palaven that was the place where he was born. Had to be tough. Didn't quite relate since I'd moved from place to place was a military brat. - One thing I did come to realize is how truly empathetic James can be. He sees the devastation on Menae, sees ships go down and considers the dead turians, and truly feels for them. He's the kind of guy I need fighting with me, someone who is pissed off he had to leave Earth but just as mad to see the same thing happening to other races. - We made it to Victus not a moment too soon since a Harvester had dropped some serious shit onto the base. The doors were smashed down. Once we'd cleared them out, we informed Victus of his new position. He was stunned. Then I told him what I wanted. He said he couldn't, not while Palaven was being pounded. He'd only relent if I got the krogan on Palaven. This after Garrus and I had just explained to James why the krogan would never help the turians or salarians. Upside was the Garrus was rejoining the Normandy. - The asari councilor outright said they wouldn't join the summit if the krogan were there because the salarian dalatrass was upset. Yet, the salarians were going to be present. Just more bullshit that was going to keep us separate. And I didn't exactly have high hopes of any summit where the krogan and salarians were both present. Hackett also told me how I was extremely important in gathering allies and resources to help get the Prothean weapon built. No pressure. - EDI then went offline and both Joker and Traynor said AI Core and Deck 3 was the center. That's also where that damn mech was. I investigated. EDI had taken over Dr. Core's body and a portion of her AI was now inside of it. Plus side was that all the data the mech had taken about the Prothean device was now completely accessible to EDI. The transition had been a bit of a fight against Core's own AI but in the end EDI won out. Then she put all systems back online. In addition, she could come with me on missions. I sort of liked the idea given that anything that happened to the mech didn't actually endanger EDI since EDI was primarily in the ship. - Had a chat with Garrus. His father had believed Garrus about the Reapers and pushed for something to be done with that information with the old primarch. Garrus got a task force out of it and ran with it, doing as much as possible to prepare the turians for what was coming. Wish the Alliance even gave half as much of a damn. Sure, Anderson and Hackett 100% believed me but that was about it. That's why my old team had been disbanded, why Donnelly and Daniels had left the Alliance in frustration. We also exchanged weak platitudes like "I'm sure your family is fine even though you haven't heard from them." - Received some messages with missions and people who wanted to see me or that I should see. The one that grabbed by attention was Kaidan's. He was up and that meant the Citadel was my next stop. Traynor also did find something odd about a transmission from Grissom Academy. I was torn but that's where I'd go after seeing Kaidan. - Went right to Huerta. We talked a bit. I have Kaidan some whiskey since I knew it was a favorite of his. Nothing says "I love you" like an expensive bottle of whiskey. Kaidan even said he thought we were good together. We talked about Horizon and how to get past it. He said he wanted to be in my life no matter what, that he wasn't seeing anyone and that even if we never happened he wanted me to know he still cared. There are more pics but I don't want to overload with my mShenko screenshots. - Thane was hanging out in the lounge at Huerta. He'd come there as a favor to his son. It didn't really change things with his disease but made his son happier to feel that something was being done. Since Kolyat lived on the Citadel it also brought them physically closer together. Thane mentioned having seen Kaidan and talked to him, thought he was honorable. He believed my enemies might go after Kaidan and promised to look out for him. I always liked Thane but now I was feeling grateful for his presence. This could easily be the last time I saw him. - My aquarium was looking empty so I bought some Koi on the Presidium. Also bought an Aquarium VI because I doubted Traynor was going to be as generous as Kelly had been in feeding them. Then again, Traynor is no psychologist and has very important work to do on the ship. It'd be a waste of her talents to build time into her schedule to feed my fish. - Did something I thought I'd never do and helped EDI figure out how to romance Joker, who already seemed interested. I guess my feelings about Kaidan left me generous on this front.

If I recall, enemies in the Armax Arena have less health, armor, shields, and barriers than in the main single player campaign. That is a touch disappointing, but believable. I do have a suspicion that the shield gate behaviour is more forgiving in the Arena than in real missions. Everything went smooth and now it's Horizon time. After that I'm not sure if I don't just want to do 5 side missions to get the Widow asap and do all the remaining recruitment/loyalty missions with that to get the most out of it. In my vanguard playthrough, I rushed to the Collector ship ASAP in order to unlock assault rifles, but found the mission very hard going because I was under-upgraded. In my most recent playthrough, I did it the other way up, doing lots of missions in order to maximize my upgrades. Personally, I lean towards the second approach and live without having my extra weapon for a few missions. But you and Red are both much better players than me

Getting to the Collector ship quickly?
As said above, do all firewalker missions.
Or, haha, try themikefest way, hahaha, if you like to get through the game quickly. Complete 2 loyalty missions right after Horizon. Complete 3 missions of firewalker. If playing as biotic, make sure one of those is getting the biotic upgrade. Complete collector ship. Go get IFF. Complete last 2 firewalker missions. Go through the relay. Then complete Arrival, if you like. That is what I did. I finished at level 14 even though I started at level 2 because I had a save imported from ME1.

Jeph Shepard, Spacer/Sentinel/Butcher of Torfan: - Aria wanted to see me about something. She was on the Citadel in the club called Purgatory. Don't know why she wasn't on Omega but I was going to find out. Turned out Cerberus has ousted her from Omega. That's not why she wanted to see me. She knew that if the Reapers won than everyone was dead. She asked me to united the Blood Pack, Eclipse and Blue Suns mercs under her leadership. Then she'd send them against Reapers. I could deal with putting them in the front lines. - Found Donnelly and Daniels in Purgatory getting drunk. They were in Alliance uniforms. After talking to them and making sure they were clear of Cerberus, I recruited them back to the Normandy. They knew the ship well and Adams could use the help. - Ran into Kelly Chambers at the Holding Docks. After I left Cerberus she took a closer look at their actions and decided they weren't what she had thought. She left and was here helping the refugees. Kelly believed Cerberus wasn't interested in going after her but I didn't have that same thought. I told her to change her look and identity. She finally agreed. Oh, and it turned out she had saved my fish! She had them sent to the Normandy. I asked her to come with me but she was too afraid after her experience with the Collectors. - Helped the Blood Pack leadership change hands in exchange for their help. Why I was dealing with a vorcha and not a krogan was inexplicable. - Wasted enough time on the Citadel so was now off to Grissom Academy. In the interest of seeing how she operated, I brought EDI with me. Also Garrus because I hadn't worked with him in a while. There were Cerberus cruisers blocking our access so sneaking on board with the shuttle was necessary. Joker created a diversion so we could do so. Cerberus was after the biotic students. No way I was letting that happen. - Kahlee Sanders was our contact here and told us where to go. We headed to Orion Hall. Sanders said they had an instructor with them. I was shocked as hell to see it was Jack. I could understand, though. She no doubt wanted to make sure no biotic kids went through the hell she had. - Ran across some kids behind a barrier that were being harassed by Cerberus troopers. I took them out but the girl was too afraid to let it down. David Archer was there, though. He named me and showed gratitude for the number of days he continued to live after having been freed from Project Overlord. Then he told us of a security office he'd hacked open where we could get more weapons. Good kid. Glad I saved him. - When we got closer to our destination, I commandeered an Atlas mech. It really helped clear out the Cerberus troops so the students could escape to the shuttle. Sanders believed they were ready for the front lines but Jack had already convinced me otherwise. I said we needed more barriers and Jack agreed completely. - Back on the Normandy, something was up with Cortez. His husband had died during a Collector attack and he hadn't gotten past it. I told him I'd be there for him if he needed anything. Then headed back to the Citadel. Kaidan was up and about though still in the hospital. - When I got to the hospital, he was in uniform. He said he'd accepted the Spectre position and that there was going to be a pretty big ceremony. Didn't do anything like that for me, but of course there was no human councilor at the time. I invited him back to the Normandy, and he was considering it, but he first wanted to find his old spec ops squad. I hoped he sorted things out soon. - Completed a deal with the Blue Suns and also with Eclipse, one which would leave that psycho Jona Sedaris dead. - Helped Spectre Jondam Bau and (secretly) Kasumi track down an indoctrinated hanar who was threatening the hanar homeworld. Bau had been tracking her for years and intended to arrest her. She had to reveal herself to stop a virus which would destroy hanar defenses while I saved Bau from death. Then she poorly faked her death. Couldn't get her back on the Normandy but convinced her to help with hacking Prothean technology for the Crucible Project with the promise that tech would be lying around at the end. Also got a Spectre unit on my side.

Melody Shepard, Colonist/Sole Survivor/Infiltrator, ME3 Insanity: Back at Garret Bryson's lab, Melody and EDI used a containment field to secure the Leviathan artefact that Bryson had been studying, ensuring that no-one else on the Citadel would suffer indoctrination. Searching the lab for more leads, they determined that Bryson's daughter Ann was leading an excavation on Namakli in the Pylos Nebula, where a similar artefact had been found. Her last communication to her father indicated that Reaper scouts were en route to the dig site. Returning to the Normandy, Melody ordered the ship to Namakli at maximum speed to extract the archaeologists. For this mission, she selected an M-13 Raptor rifle recovered from a fallen Cerberus Nemesis. She felt a pang of something as her eyes rested for a moment on the hexagonal logo behind the grip. The dig site was under full-scale Reaper attack, the sky swarming with Harvesters. Cortez dropped Melody, Kaidan and Tali as close as he could. They established radio contact with Ann and carefully made their way to her, the aerial bombardment forcing them to take the scenic route, neutralizing Reaper troops when necessary. To her credit, Ann kept a level head, sitting tight and waiting for the Normandy party; her subordinates panicked, fled, and were cut down by the Reapers. Ann explained about the ancient art adorning the dig site, apparently depicting people in thrall to a solitary Reaper, presumably Leviathan. At the site, the party found a spherical artefact identical to the one in Bryson's lab. It activated and took control of Ann; like "Garneau", a voice began to speak through her before Kaidan shut it down with his M-7 Lancer. The team cleared the extraction zone of a Harvester and assorted infantry, permitting Cortez to extract them safely. On the way back, Melody broke the news about Bryson to his daughter as gently as she could. (No deaths; I don't even recall losing my shields. This contrasts with my previous playthrough, when Harvesters dropped me a few times ) Things to look at: In the late 22nd century, multiplayer netcode still sucks: Squad briefing: Or you could let the engineer do it? ... dmc1001 's best guy shutting down an artefact with extreme prejudice: Breaking bad news: Putting the Para- into Paragade. I had forgotten about these lines. They amuse me. "Talibrations" flirting: A bit of combat with the Raptor, which plays similarly to the ME2 incarnation of the Viper. It's not as good; it doesn't have the same crisp feel, and you can see that my trigger-spamming isn't especially consistent. Not a bad gun though, its quick reload and medium-range scope make it quite forgiving to use. The Indra completely outclasses it; but the Indra is DLC and the Raptor isn't. One of my few successful Silver solos in multiplayer was Firebase White versus Reapers, as quarian female infiltrator with Raptor. It's also perfectly good in Gold. (Yes, I cloaked at the end with the intention of blowing up those barrels, but decided not to when I realized that poor Tali would get caught in the explosion!)

You have one of 3 choices. This, that or the other thing. I've done this and the other thing but never that. Just can't imagine being trapped in a Reaper FOREVER! (Nor being green, but that was a one-off.) About the green thing, nothing change my mind this is actually a strategy for the Catalyst and Reapers to survive and also rest from their mission, because having to kill almost everything every 50.000 years must tire even the most analytical mind.
Hey, nobody here wants to die. Why a sapient medling of organic and machine beings would want either? It's actually sad if you think about, because the differences between organics and machines is what make them interesting. At least the geth.
Since the reapers force a confrontation every 50.000 years, because evolution is a "tool" for them, there's no room for natural evolution to take place and organics and machines reaching a coexistence. Or someone thinks the geth can take over the galaxy and wipe out asari, turians, salarians, humans and krogans? You know what is funny? The geth evolved more than the reapers and only needed 50.000 years for that. Just one more reason to dispatch the reapers from this galaxy into oblivion. I suggest at least doing the assigment on planet Didara, because you pick a DR upgrade at the end of the mission. Since you have to do more missions to start the collector ship and get the Widow, what about the N7: Archeological Dig Site → N7: MSV Strontium Mule?
You also get a health upgrade at the end of it. Also, you can do the N7: Captured Mining Facility because you gain much more money than in normal missions, so you can buy more upgrades on Illium, and the N7: Blood Pack Base for the heavy ammo upgrade.
This will start the collector ship mission.

If you don't talk with Liara on Illium at all the consequences in ME3 is like if you have talked to her one time and that's it. No hacking quest and no LotSB mission is ever mentioned apart from the default dialogs in ME3.
Think in terms of some sort of reversed amnesia. LOL
Of course if you never talked with her you also don't have the chance to recruit Samara and Thane.
But that's what you get for not talking with the goddess, marvellous, wonder, miss of the universe/galaxy/life and afterlife Liara.

If Shepard talks to her in ME3, she will mention that she wished she joined you back on Illium even though Shepard never talked with her or even went to Illium.

Korynn finished Zaeed's loyalty mission. Time to start Shadow Broker. She is romancing Liara, so it should be fun.

Loaded up ME3 while todays livestream droned on in the background. Bit of Kathrine time. Learned that the black text cutscene at the beginning covers the screen during the cutscene if you are doing something else in the background. So no Vega screenshots. Also had the better dream mods, so had to see vent brat. Ewwww. Biotically kept the cannibals off the lawn. Unless anyone says otherwise, the redhead you meet at the start was Becky. And now she's dead. So my chance to go OMG Becky, look at that post is gone. Bummer. Stow it Lieutenant. I'd toss you out of the airlock right now, but my mental condition requires me to travel in groups of three at all times. Except when storming Batarian bases and eating sushi. And on the Citadel... Just shut up Vega. Biotically smashing heads into a pulp . Also, usually just hide behind the counter and shoot the glass. But Kathrine sauntered up to the window, squatted then reached up, grabbed a goon AND SMASHED HIS FACE TO A BLOODY PULP. YES. YES. YES. Anyways...got up until the room before Timmy boy, then the stream ended and Kathrine met a grenade. Oops. So the moral of the story is: Is there a way to upgrade squad skills without using the mouse. How clever is the game with auto level ups and is there a way to be not one-shot-ted by a grenade. Some damage resistance or something. Because damn those things in other people hands.

Also, you can do the N7: Captured Mining Facility because you gain much more money than in normal missions, so you can buy more upgrades on Illium, and the N7: Blood Pack Base for the heavy ammo upgrade. Yeah, I might do 1 or 2 quests to get an upgrade, and probably some short quests like the Estevanico where there's no combat I'd like to leave the other N7 missions for the Widow then From yesterday: "Hey Alec, I'm back from Horizon. I'm really pissed off about the Illusive Man now, but I'll tell you everything from the start. After arriving at the colony, we quickly encountered the first Collectors there, which was bad. It meant they had started to take the colonists. We found some pods, which they used to carry the colonists away. It was eerie and depressing. Not a single soul, everything was so quiet. We eventually found a handful of colonists further in, but they were in stasis. The seeker swarms' doing. Luckily Mordin's upgrades protected us. We also took down some husks, but they were more advanced than back when we fought them on Eden Prime. It was strange they were with the Collectors. I thought they were geth creations... but there were none of these spikes. That suggests that this tech likely came from either the Collectors or Sovereign back then. My bet is on the Reapers. We passed through a building where we found a mechanic. He told us that the Alliance tried to help the colony by setting up some defense towers, and I learned that this was why Kaidan was there, to help set them up. The targeting systems didn't work properly (at this point Devlon probably cursed in his mind he didn't bring Garrus ), but if we managed to get them online, we could use them against the Collector ship. So that's where we went. EDI took care of the targeting systems, but it took some time to do it, so Mordin, Kasumi and I fought off Collector troops while EDI did the magic. It worked and eventually the towers fired at the ship. But these fucks took off, and half the colony was lost. Half, Alec! I couldn't do anything to help them. And if that wasn't bad enough, Kaidan appeared, but it was not the happy reunion I had hoped for. I was so glad to see he was okay and not taken, and that we could talk, but it didn't go so well. He had heard rumours before that I was alive and with Cerberus, but when I confirmed it he walked away. I can't blame him. He doesn't know how I'm alive, something I don't even understand myself sometimes. And he was right there with me when we uncovered Cerberus's sick experiments... I know why he doesn't trust me. Back on the Normandy I learned who was responsible for seeding these rumours about me. This bloody bastard Illusive Man. This alone is already fucked up, but he also tipped off the Alliance that Horizon might be the next colony to be hit, in hopes they'd send someone close to me to find out whether the Collectors actually are looking for me - something he had suspected. So, looks like he was right, but it makes me so mad how he deliberately risked someone's life just to confirm this suspicion. He's such an asshole. I'm just so frustrated. That I have to work with him. I really hope this ends rather sooner than later. He sent 3 more dossiers. At least this time, Tali is on the list. I look forward to seeing her again. I had a chat with Jacob, and he said that before we actually bring the fight to the Collectors, the crew might want to finish some personal business. It's a good idea. We might all die on this mission, so I promised to help him with his. Miranda also wanted to see me for the same reason. Funny thing is, I'm starting to like them. They're actually okay. Really okay. And if it helps them to focus some more on what lies ahead, I'll gladly take care of it. I think I'm gonna go and have a drink. Just one, I promise. Venting here was great, but today it doesn't cut it. Talk to you soon. -Dee" Piiiics: Two deaths, and such dumb ones again! Both at the end of course First by trying to melee a husk and I got swarmed, then during the Praetorian, I cloaked and thought I'd be fine, but the beam targeted a squaddie behind me, I was in the way, and that was that Other than that it went really smooth. Now off for those 5 missions.

Gotta say that I'm enjoying having him around. I like his low-key manner; he brings a calming influence to the tense situations in which Shepard and her colleagues find themselves. I preferred Ashley over Kaidan in ME1; but based on evidence so far, I'd say that I prefer Kaidan over Ashley in ME3.

Melody Shepard, Colonist/Sole Survivor/Infiltrator, ME3 Insanity: Melody met up with Ann Bryson at the lab. In spite of her bereavement, Ann was keen to help track down the being that killed her father. She volunteered to be enthralled by the shielded artefact to enable EDI to trace Leviathan's communication signal. After making doubly sure that Ann was prepared to go through with it, Melody ordered James to drop the shield while EDI began the trace. Possession by Leviathan put Ann's body under tremendous strain; when capillaries started to burst, James called a halt to the experiment. EDI had enough information to narrow Leviathan's location to within two systems in Sigurd's Cradle. Tracking the signal to the ocean world Despoina, Cortez suggested taking a shuttle below the surface. It was a good plan, until the Kodiak was knocked out of the sky by an EM pulse, crash-landing on the remains of a downed spaceship, itself apparently a victim of the pulse; the crew dead, driven to insanity and murder by enthralment artefacts. Melody, James, Kaidan and Cortez were stuck there unless something could be done about the pulse. A Reaper dropped out of FTL and dispatched troops, apparently also intent on getting their hands/claws/appendages on Leviathan. The party dispatched them (one stupid death), then liberated a marine-spec Triton mech from the shipwreck for Melody to use to follow the signal to Leviathan. At a depth of 4km, Melody made contact with Leviathan, an ancient creature resembling a small, organic Reaper. She learned the truth about the Reapers and the cycles: the product of a botched attempt by the Leviathan race to solve the problem of organic-synthetic conflict. Having sown the seeds of their own destruction and countless aeons of strife, the remaining Leviathans had retreated to Despoina, using the artefacts to monitor the galaxy and enthrall victims where "necessary" to keep their existence a secret. Melody yelled at them, amazingly managing to convince them to take an active part in the war instead of merely hiding from it. They shut down the EM pulse and destroyed the Reaper, allowing the Normandy party to escape safely. En route back to the Normandy, Melody spoke with Ann over the comm, recovered from her ordeal and keen to offer her expertise to the war effort. The Normandy took a route back to the Citadel via Ontarom in the Kepler Verge, where Melody, Garrus and Liara reclaimed an Alliance communication hub from Cerberus. (This needed three attempts before I managed it in one take). EMS at the end of this mission: 2511. Things to look at: I hadn't noticed the plesiosaur skeleton before: Messing with Mr Vega: Ann get the Paragon treatment after her ordeal: The Leviathans, on the other hand... A fragile, stationary object needs breaking? There's only one gun for this task... I'LL SAVE YOU, MARY JANE! All better: Salute! Splat! Maxed: The entire Ontarom mission. This demonstrates that the shield-gate mechanic is a lot less forgiving in "real" missions than in the Armax Arena. Watch as I fail to headshot a Stasised Phantom.

Jeph Shepard, Spacer/Sentinel/Butcher of Torfan:
- Aria asked for my help in reclaiming Omega. In return, I'd get ships, guns and eezo. Sounded like it was worth my time so we headed out to Omega. Our stealth option in a Cerberus ship only partly worked. Upgrades to Omega's defenses left that ship in danger of destruction and we had to take an escape pod to reach the station. We fought our way deeper into Omega to one of Aria's secret bases. Along the way picked up a turian named Nyreen Kandros who is a former associate of Aria's. They clearly had some bad blood between them but seemed willing to work together. In any case, she knew a lot more about the secrets of Omega than your average person and had military background. She'd be useful.
