BOW BEFORE YOUR QUEEN! She has cookies. Because queen of the girl scouts? No? Okay. So um, did a bit more after grabbing a bite to eat. Wrapped up the archives, with no grenade accidents this time. Ashley was put in time-out at the hospital while the rest of the crew went to get themselves a Primarch. Then tested out EDI on Jacks mission and yes, got downed by grenades a few times. Then went and got the fishies back from Kelly's day care and recruited Allers on the team. Bullied some Salarians with Wreav and ended the session with recruiting the Rachni Queen into the fight. I'm always sad to loose Dagg. He's such a funny guy. Got scolded with Wreav for that, which nets him another point in his book. Also got Kathrine properly geared, a comfy sweater on ship, pink ranger gear off ship. Sadly, the dress code memo for the squad seems to be black'n'blue. But they have no taste in outfits. Am also trying the Scorpion pistol a bit. So far it seems to be useless. Haven't got Kirrahe's cutscene prowess. But otherwise combat is going well. Lot's of tossing and explosions. Debates on dress code still rage on. Found no sharks on Sur-Kesh :C Dagg To bad he wont survive without Grunt. And for a funny out of game experience. The origin line when I exited was "It's elementary, my dear Kipper" which was funny since I was actually planning to play Sherlock today and the ME3 session was just supposed to be a short thing. Or well, it amused me at least.

If you don't talk with Liara on Illium at all the consequences in ME3 is like if you have talked to her one time and that's it. No hacking quest and no LotSB mission is ever mentioned apart from the default dialogs in ME3.
Think in terms of some sort of reversed amnesia. LOL
Of course if you never talked with her you also don't have the chance to recruit Samara and Thane.
But that's what you get for not talking with the goddess, marvellous, wonder, miss of the universe/galaxy/life and afterlife Liara. I already know what happens if I don't talk to her on Illium. If Shepard talks to her in ME3, she will mention that she wished she joined you back on Illium even though Shepard never talked with her or even went to Illium. It's weird, isn't? Don't know why Bioware didn't do it like the first two Fallout games regarding the consequences for example. You can do whatever you want and end the games the way you want, but you have a "cannon" story (Shaddy Sands survived, Junktown and Necropolis not, the NCR is always growing, the Master was destroyed, the super mutant army was defeated and so on). In fact we have some of this if you start a new game without importing a save and don't use the Genesis 1 or 2 comic intro. In ME2 The VS is the opposite sex of your Shepard, Wrex was killed by Shepard on Virmire, the rachni queen was killed, the council was sacrified at the end of ME1, Shiala was killed and Feros colony destroyed (Aethyta mention the colony when talking to), Gianna Parasini was never spoken to as a IA agent, Rana and Kirrahe both died on Virmire and Shepard didn't perfomed any UNC missions or Citadel assignments with the exception of the Rogue VI on Luna.
In ME3 you didn't recruited Zaeed, Kasumi and Samara, didn't resolved any loyalty missions, Jack and Thane are dead, Miranda, Jacob, Garrus and Tali are alive. Tali is considered exiled, Legion was never activated, Grunt was never released from his tank, the Collector Base was destroyed and the crew didn't survived with the exception of Chakwas.
Overlord, LotSB and Arrival were never performed, so no David Archer at the academy and in Arrival the Alliance took care of the relay. All other previous choices still apply and Shepard - again! - didn't performed any N7 missions. And Shepard never romanced anyone in previous games, using Katnos Relationship services on Omega when - no pun intended - having a hard time and in need of some stress relief. Melody Shepard, Colonist/Sole Survivor/Infiltrator, ME3 Insanity:... At a depth of 4km, Melody made contact with Leviathan, an ancient creature resembling a small, organic Reaper. She learned the truth about the Reapers and the cycles: the product of a botched attempt by the Leviathan race to solve the problem of organic-synthetic conflict. Having sown the seeds of their own destruction and countless aeons of strife, the remaining Leviathans had retreated to Despoina, using the artefacts to monitor the galaxy and enthrall victims where "necessary" to keep their existence a secret. Melody yelled at them, amazingly managing to convince them to take an active part in the war instead of merely hiding from it. They shut down the EM pulse and destroyed the Reaper, allowing the Normandy party to escape safely. En route back to the Normandy, Melody spoke with Ann over the comm, recovered from her ordeal and keen to offer her expertise to the war effort.
Excuse my language and honesty, but Melody Shepard should've sticked the Triton where the sun don't shine on that giant lobster. And then serve his friends to the reaper above in exchange for free passage.
Bunch of a-holes, we are all in this mess because of them. Gods? Pfffff... PS: Love the atmosphere and locations of the entire DLC, they are among the best ones of the entire trilogy in my opinion.

Melody Shepard, Colonist/Sole Survivor/Infiltrator, ME3 Insanity: This is a Javelin V with a level V extended barrel mod. Shepard's cloak is built for damage at rank 4 and sniper damage at rank 6; but even without the cloak, this gun oneshots even shielded mooks ... Versus Reaper Super Elites. Squad assistance providing Warp as a debuff and warp ammo helps to make this pretty easy. I wonder whether it's possible to stack enough bonuses to one-shot a Banshee with this gun? It may be possible to one-shot Armax Arena Banshees. If I recall, enemies in the Armax Arena have less health, armor, shields, and barriers than in the main single player campaign. I don't know what the actual numbers are, and I don't think anyone cared enough to look. If I recall correctly, some 'eyeball testing' done by players on the old BSN forums showed that a Sniper Infiltrator with the Widow could one-shot some shielded enemies in Armax Arena, but could not one-shot the same shielded enemies in the main single player campaign with the Widow (you need the Javelin to do it). So it may be possible to one-shot Armax Arena Banshees with a Javelin X with the right bonuses. If I can find the time, I may try it out since I have a Javelin X with at least one Infiltrator. IF I can find the time. If someone else wants to try it, be my guest. As an Infiltrator: 1. Javelin X 2. Spec Cloak for damage and sniper damage 3. Spec Operative Mastery for maximum sniper damage 4. Spec Disruptor Ammo for maximum damage 5. Take Fortification as a bonus power, rank 5 Power Synergy (increases Disruptor Ammo damage) 6. Javelin mods: Sniper Heavy Damage Barrel (I think that is what it is called?) for +25% damage and armor penetration; second mod probably the time dilation mod since it also provides damage if I recall, otherwise maybe the other armor piercing mod 7. armor: weapon damage and headshot damage (would likely need a headshot to kill the Banshee; could also test body shots with all weapon damage armor) 8. Intel: weapon damage I would like to see if you could do it without 8, or if you could do it with a Javelin V (probably not though). Update: I just tried this out. I was unable to one-shot a Banshee in the Armax Arena. Closest I got was getting the Banshee down to about 2/3 armor in one shot. If someone better than me wants to try it themselves, go ahead. I was soloing Reapers Super Elites so squadmates would not throw off the tests. Without squadmates though, I was constantly being chased around by husks while I tried to get a good shot at the Banshee and any Brutes tracking me down. Also -- and I am not sure if this happens on all platforms -- but Armax Arena Banshees have this weird habit of killing themselves, so I could only get 1 or 2 Banshees on the third round, which means if I screwed up and hit the body instead of the head, it meant I pretty much had to go back and try the match again. Really annoying. I died a few times trying to dodge with the wrong button (blame Mass Effect: Andromeda for changing the control scheme).

Jeph Shepard, Spacer/Sentinel/Butcher of Torfan, currently fighting alongside Aria on Omega: - While Aria and I chatted about tactics, Nyreen disappeared. Not sure why since she was supposed to be helping us. Maybe this was why Aria didn't trust her. As we headed to the Talon base to "recruit" the gang, whether by hook or crook I didn't care, we kept hearing reports of a Cerberus high priority target in the area. Once we got to that base, Nyreen put in an appearance. After Cerberus took over she'd taken control of the Talons. They were no longer a drug running gang, and the evidence was clear when we saw stashes of untouched red sand. Instead, they were going to protect the civilians of Omega. It changed things for me. Merc gangs I could let live or die, but a vigilante gang of protectors - real protectors - was another story. I've always wanted to keep civilians safe. Aria wasn't going to like my change in attitude but she probably doesn't understand my thinking. - We later learned that some creatures called Adjutants - created from Reaper-based tech - existed on Omega. They were Cerberus creations and they could tear entire squads apart. Good thing me and two squadmates were capable of doing to same so I wasn't too afraid of the odds. Hell, I told Sovereign I was going to kill it to its holographic face and that's what happened. Hell if I backed down from these things. - Aria decided she needed to be bold to fight Cerberus. That meant recruiting civilians, something Nyreen would never have done. It also forced Nyreen to act because she'd want to defend them. Crafty. - Did learn from Nyreen that the force fields and the mechs we were encountering were based on technology found beyond the Omega 4 relay. That meant TIM had found a way there without out Reaper IFF. It also meant the Collector base must not have been as completely destroyed as I'd hoped. I didn't even want to think about that abominable human Reaper and whether or not it still might exist. - Encountered a lot of dead Cerberus troopers in a powered down area. Nyreen said it was the work of the adjutants. We were going to have to move through this area in the dark, re-power it, and take an elevator out. If I could kill every damn batarian on Torfan I could take these things out. Definitely heard one of those damn things growling in the darkness. As soon as the power went on, the thing showed up. It went down but turned out there were more. Not the good shot of an adjutant I'd hoped for. - As we got close to the reactor that would power down all these force fields, Nyreen noted that we were no longer being attacked. She was right to be suspicious. When we got to the reactor a field went up around us and the mechs that could pass through them began attacking. Petrovsky tried to play the big hero, wanting to take us in as prisoners. Aria wasn't having it. She was able to use her powers to breach a hole in the force field, big enough for me to get through so I could get to a console and cut the power. Petrovsky told me that turning off this reactor would also turn of life support in living areas and cause thousands of civilian deaths. I'd have to reroute the power and hope Aria and Nyreen could hold out. Petrovsky tried his psychological warfare on me but it didn't work. Idiot thought saying things like I left Cerberus because I feared success. I succeeded and the others survived. - Found evidence that Cerberus was turning humans into these adjutants. Just showed that whatever honor Petrovsky claimed to have was all bullshit. In the end, he'd turn unwilling subjects into monsters. Not acceptable. - Nyreen had gone ahead toward Afterlife, which was where Petrovsky was holed up. She saw Cerberus-controlled adjutants attacking civilians. She trapped them, herself and a belt of grenades inside of a barrier. We showed up just moments before they exploded, obliterating all inside. That pissed off Aria and she tore through the Cerberus troops in her way. But she was reckless and got caught. I was able to free her. Petrovsky backed down them, asking for clemency in exchange for intel on TIM. I wasn't buying it and neither was Aria. She slowly choked the life out of him. Aria admitted to being baffled by my inconsistency and I let her know I didn't like her leadership style. The last thing I heard before leaving was something mildly positive. She intended to protect the people, so maybe Nyreen's death served some purpose for Aria. This happens to be one of my least favorite parts of ME3 but it's worth it for the war assets. Also, glad I got it out of the way early so it's not looming.

Melody Shepard, Colonist/Sole Survivor/Infiltrator, ME3 Insanity: Melody, Liara and Kaidan went for a training session in the Armax Arena. Unfortunately, the simulation glitched, the safeties failed and they were locked in, making their training rather more realistic than they had bargained for. I have an inexplicable appreciation for mid-reload screenshots: "Hi, guys. Are we all enjoying the mortal peril?" It's the amazing antigravity Praetorian! Finishing the mission with the most stylish gun: The complete mission: This took three attempts, the first two both failed during the last wave (overwhelmed the first time, eaten by a Praetorian the second). Of course, I cheesed it with the Indra and squad warp ammo like the scrub that I am I also upgraded Kaidan and Liara's Lancer and Tempest to level V. I remember this taking several attempts in my first playthrough (sentinel, Normal difficulty), and I haven't yet cleared it with my vanguard Shep.

Completed Shadow Broker in ME2: Korynn took Tali along. It was like old times: Complete with bumpy rides, shooting, arguing, and poor Tali having to witness the mushiness between her two best friends. The only thing missing was the Mako. Foreshadowing to ME3 and an unwritten fanfiction scene where Tali officiates the wedding ceremony between Korynn and Liara. These three will forever be in each others' lives. Despite the fact that Vasir tried to kill Liara, killing Vasir for Korynn was painful. All of the events before and after her death are slowly coming back to her. As is the pain of being apart from Liara for so long, and Liara still being shellshocked by Korynn's return. Korynn is slowly becoming attached to the asari as a people, and it gets rough on her if she has to kill them or she sees them harmed in any way. Met Erinya and she revealed to Korynn that she had daughters that were killed on the Citadel. One worked in the Embassy, and they both liked talking to people. Filed this away since Keri T'Vessa in ME:A states that she is the daughter of ambassadors, and used to spend some of her time on the Citadel before being disowned...and well, she likes to talk to people too. I don't think they are connected, but it would be fun to connect them somehow. It's also an interesting notion that Keri could be a pureblood.

Melody Shepard, Colonist/Sole Survivor/Infiltrator, ME3 Insanity: The Normandy picked up Kai Leng's trail; Traynor's analysis led them to "Sanctuary", a supposed safe haven for refugees, on Horizon. Arriving at the complex, Melody, Kaidan and Tali found the place largely deserted, with evidence of heavy fighting between Reaper and Cerberus ground forces. After eliminating some leftover Cerberus troops, the trio infiltrated the facility. The grisly truth soon became apparent: the place was a front for a Cerberus project to reverse-engineer Reaper communication protocols. The refugees were raw material for genetic analysis and husk conversion. Video logs revealed that Miranda Lawson was on site, attempting to shut the place down; the scientist in charge was her father, Henry. Kai Leng was also apparently present, with orders from the Illusive Man to collect the research data. The squad encountered further pockets of Reaper forces; their resistance was tenacious but not especially heavy. (One death: first Banshee warped me twice). The Reapers were apparently aware of the nature of the research and the threat it posed. Henry Lawson was holed up deep in the main control tower, using his younger daughter Oriana as a hostage to prevent his older daughter from killing him. Miranda had been injured by Kai Leng, but was not seriously wounded. Melody intimidated Henry into releasing Oriana, and was debating with herself whether or not to summarily execute him when Miranda opened up with her biotics and sent her father falling to his death. Before leaving to get her wounds treated, Miranda left a gift: she had put a tracer on Kai Leng's shuttle. The Alliance could use it to follow him to the Illusive Man. EMS at the end of this mission: 2569 The Normandy crew were appalled at the levels to which Cerberus had descended. A dangerous, quiet rage had come over the usually-calm Kaidan. Unable to make sense of what she had seen, Tali resorted to triple-filtered turian brandy. Things to look at: Squad briefing: Overlooking Sanctuary: Tali doing her thing, 1/2: Putting the pieces together: Melody, you should follow Tali's example and threaten him with the CLAYMOAR: Don't be fooled by her calm expression, she means it: Well, try wearing looser clothing then: Tali doing her thing, 2/2: After analysing the behaviour of people in Reaper concentration camps, EDI discovers her militant side: Beware the quiet ones: My fighting was truly scrubby in this mission, but here are a few of the less awful CLAYMOAR moments. Watch as I blunder around and get surprised by a Marauder, and run out of ammo while trying to kill a Banshee: Meanwhile, in a parallel universe, Miriam Shepard (vanguard) cleared the "Fatal Error" mission: Yes, still relying on my DLC crutch gun I thought it was all over when I screwed up on wave 1, letting the Abominations mob me. That aside, this actually went pretty smoothly until I got flanked by the synthetic bosh'tets at the very end. Favourite moment: Charging across the map to save Miranda at the end of wave 4

ME3 keeps interrupting Sherlock. Another short session gone long. Met Liara's dad, did she always have scales on her jaws, or is it some mod maddness? Anyways, told Liara to talk to her about it. Told Edi to wreck Joker's hips, since it's about the extent of physical pain I can give him. Had drinks with James and met Felicia, said bye to her as well and got a nice chuckle reminding some old feather rustlin' from the devs. Got a bit sad over Shepard having to walk alone in the Citadel, but guess it's the price of being able to see more of the squad off ship. Said Hi to Aria and am kind of curious, is Lash like a whip? A biotic one? Or something else? Asking for a friend. Anyways. Got some fellows off Benning, messed around with cannons and fetched some stuff from the stars. Delivered it on the Citadel and did most of the timed blathering as well. Then it was time for Tuchanka. Realized I hadn't chatted to Paddy at all on the Normandy, but still not sure if it was bad or good. Kathrine did not reveal the sabotage, but let Paddy go up the elevator for Eve's sake. He said something profound and had the cutest grin before the boom. Big props to the better dreams mod. The second dream was absolute perfection and resonated much better with me than walking in the park with Vent-Kid. The first part was especially nice, since I could totally imagine the revival being something that was chewing her up in private since it happened. Then Citadel again. The footage of Kathrine shooting Councillor Valern is totally photo shopped. Had treaded on thin ice with Ash, because the snark was strong today, so was glad to see that Kathrine had enough Paragon in her back to get Ash to stand down. Then lured her onto the Normandy with the promise of cookies. Yum yum. Oh and Kathrine shot Udina. Nobody stabs her in the back and gets away with it! >:C Got a nice surprise from Liara, remembered the monastery mission being activated at the same time as Thessia, but Banshee bonanza came early. And with them Samara . Which makes it easier to spread out her content and season it liberally with head canon and unwritten fan fiction. The mission went well. One banshee managed to get hold of Kathrine's butt, so had to try the final brawl twice. But got better music on the second try, so that's fine. Make the elevator, come a little faster, I'm pushing all the buttons, but nothing's happening. Then time to talk to some Quarians and visit a Geth dreadnought. Tried out the Arc Pistol. Not sure how it works, but sometimes it made the Geth explode, and I'm all for that. Wish they had began with the Andromeda weapon system earlier, since Scorpion and Archy would probably become fast friends if they could be in the load out at the same time. Might end up playing more later, might not. Since pictures are all the rage, here is one. Not a particularly exciting one, but I like it. Might have ruined it with filters, but what can you do. Silence. She hated it as a kid. Always had to drown it out with some noise. Music, tapping and in some cases, screaming. Now it was comforting. Grabbed her worries and forced them down, showed them into a box to fret over later. Making room for focus, determination. There was a mission ahead. It was important. No time to think about her face. Oh god. Her face. Shrapnel had ripped her cheeks into a red mess. Her eyes were open, wide. She never wanted to fight. Went to communications instead, helping with word and thinking. Not shooting and death. Pound pound pound, shouted the little heart in her chest. Shut up. Silence, she loved it as an adult. Which is why you never mess with filters. Not sure which is worse, this or the babble. But at least this is shorter .

Today I encountered the most grim of the glitches and made me even jump alittle. Thank god I had part of the video saved, I see if I can upload it to somewhere.
In ME3 i got stuck in the nightmare, the boy did not show up in ten minutes and my Shepard just wanders around (I did not want to give up because I was curious AND I WAS RIDICULOUS ENOUGH TO BELIEVE THAT SHEPARD WILL BE LOST TO INDOCTRINATION IF I LOSE HER THERE). After 10 minutes the boy shows up near me and the red light flashes and then comes the BOOOOMMM sound out of nowhere. After that I could finish the sequense. It was intense, more like a real nightmare and I really felt that Shepard was shaked a bit.

"Hi Alec. Damn. I just want to kick the Illusive Man where it hurts most. What an unbelievable prick he is. He sent me to investigate a Collector ship dormant in space. Told me he had intercepted a distress call from a turian patrol that crossed paths with this ship. The turians didn't make it, but before that they managed to cripple the Collector ship, and its systems were offline. Bloody lies. Well not the part where the systems were offline, because they were. The plan was to board the ship and connect with EDI to collect any information on the Collectors, and how we could make it to their homeworld. I was with the Illusive Man on that. What I wasn't okay with, and how I learned from EDI while we were on the ship, was that this turian signal had been fake - used by the Collectors actually - and this fucking bastard knew it! It was a trap laid by the Collectors, and he deliberately sent me and my team in there, playing with our lives so I'd not accidentally tip off the Collectors. Fucking bullshit. Either way, the ship powered up with us still on board, and we fought through some Collectors in order to get back to the Normandy. Just in time, we escaped them. The curious thing about this ship was that EDI determined that it's the same as the one on Horizon, and the same that attacked the Normandy 2 years ago. I wonder what this means. Do they really target me? Am I the reason all these colonists disappear? Being on this ship was... It was even more cruel than seeing the empty colony on Horizon. So many pods everywhere, and we also found a pile of bodies. Who knows what they're up to with all those humans. We learned from EDI the Collectors were once Protheans. Repurposed by the Reapers. Enslaved to do their dirty work. If this is what happens to our colonists... Fuck. I hope I'm wrong, but chances are we can't save the ones lost, only try and prevent other colonists from being taken. This is really tough on me. Especially since we really have to build our team first. I want to take the fight to the Collectors so badly, but it just makes no sense to do this now. The team is good, but we're only few. I want to improve our chances for success, so I have to play the waiting game. I'm just glad I have people here I can talk to. They keep me sane. Writing to you keeps me sane. And at least we found a way to pass through the Omega 4 relay once we're ready. EDI is fantastic. The AI is a great asset and helped us through the Collector ship, and the way it can extract information in seconds is absolutely terrific. I know AIs are forbidden in Citadel space, but bloody hell, this is really useful. On the Collector ship I picked up a weapon and took a better look at it now. No idea who it belonged to, or how it even got onto the ship. It's a sniper rifle, and it's great. This thing weighs 39 kg. Makes you wonder how a human like me could just carry it around like it's nothing, let alone fire it. Really, I don't know what Cerberus did to me with their cybernetic upgrades, but I will definitely hang on to this rifle. I also had a chat with Kelly and she mentioned that Jack wanted to see me. I thought maybe she wanted to talk about what had happened, but she didn't say anything about our night together. Instead Jack asked for my help. In the files I gave her she found the coordinates for the facility where she had been raised by Cerberus. Now she wants to go there and blow it up. Those bastards drugged, tortured and experimented on her, trying to turn her into a super-biotic. And there were even more children. So fucked up. We'll definitely do this, but first I want to go to Illium to pick up 2 other recruits and stock up on some things. I also heard Liara is there. Can't wait to catch up with her and see what she's up to. But now for some much needed sleep. Night-night, Dee" Some pics: 1 death. That's actually pretty okay in comparison to most of my other runs, hehe. I did the 5 side missions Blood Pack Relay & Blood Pack Base to get the next Heavy Weapon upgrade and thus the Cain Then Estevanico, Endangered Research Station and Mining the Canyon. So most of them with no or minimal combat. I thought I could use the Cain on the Praetorian to speed things up, but then I screwed it up by dying, and in the second attempt I probably had a bad angle when I fired. Didn't do one bit of damage. Oh well At least the Widow is nice so far, and I look forward to play with it from now on.

This will unlock the secret, nightmare ending! It would be fun if something like that existed. Strange bug. I encounter an unrelated Sentinel bug where my Shepard frequently gets stuck in the air or on top of a crate. I understood when I was a Vanguard and reckless with Biotic Charge but this baffles me.

Jeph Shepard, Spacer/Sentinel/Butcher of Torfan: - Finally getting to the diplomatic summit. In attendance are myself, the salarian dalatrass, Wrex and Primarch Victus. Nothing about this looked promising but war made for strange bedfellows. Wrex demanded a cure for the genophage before he'd help the turians. The dalatrass vehemently opposed. I convinced her we'd all die without krogan help but she was so stuck in what had happened thousands of years ago that she couldn't see that things had the potential to be better. Besides, we'd deal with the krogan if necessary after the war, but there was a good chance none of us would be alive for it to matter. Wrex somehow found out about Maelon's attempt at a cure, so he knew there had been headway made. Further, it turned out some krogan females had been cured and survived, having been taken by an STG team to Sur'Kesh. Wrex wanted them, too. As a Spectre, I could oversee the exchange. - When we got to Sur'Kesh, it was no surprise that the dalatrass had dragged her feet about getting us clearance. Probably hoped Wrex would do something stupid to ruin the deal. Ran into the former captain and now Major Kirrahe. He'd moved up since Virmire. He remembered our alliance and how it had cost us Ash. Said that no matter what the dalatrass decided he would help in retaking Earth. Padok Wiks, who was in charge, didn't agree with the genophage himself, feeling that evolution rather than politics should decide who lives or dies. Interesting to see that STG was at odds with the politicians. I understood that well. - Just as we were entering the facility, an attack came. They ushered us inside as their own ships took to the air. Found Mordin inside. He was Wrex's source in all of this and had been trying to help the krogan females. Unfortunately, all but one died since Maelon's cure had left them with weakened immune systems. Mordin said he could synthesize a cure using this female and Maelon's data but only if she survived. Which was when Wrex contacted me to say Cerberus was attacking. We had to move Mordin and the female through checkpoints, fighting Cerberus forces along the way. We rescued her and brought Wrex and "Eve" (we didn't know the krogan female's name) on board the Normandy so Mordin could work on the cure. - Victus said there was a crashed turian ship on Tuchanka with a squad led by his son. Wouldn't explain why they were there which raised red flags. Went down with Garrus and EDI, finding husks right off. As we went along we found evidence that Victus had made a bad call and that his men were paying for it. Lots of dead turians here. We saved the squad but there was a bigger problem in that Cerberus had a bomb they were going to set off. Still unclear how the turians got involved. Then on the ride down it became clear. Lt. Victus said it was a turian bomb, planted there immediately following the Krogan Rebellions. It made sense at the time. Detonation today would cause war between the krogan and turians but I couldn't figure out Cerberus's angle. Even if they didn't want us to cure the genophage, why start this war at this time? It could only work against us all. Then we saw the bomb. It was damn big. - Victus was going to have to do an override to stop the bomb. We defended his position. Once he got past the firewall he learned that the trigger mechanism had been hacked. No way to get around that, not with less than a minute. Instead, he climbed up and manually separated the trigger from the bomb. It cost him his life. The primarch was proud of his son's actions. Wrex wanted to start a fight, which I understood, but there was no time for it. - There was also another Cerberus incursion on Tuchanka that I wanted to check out. It was an ancient ground-to-air cannon. We stopped Cerberus from using it and commandeered it for ourselves. It shot a Cerberus cruiser out of the sky and gave us an advantage in the system. - Went to Benning to look into abductions by Cerberus. They claimed not to be responsible but I wasn't buying it. They've been creepy, not caring about humans as much. We defended civilians and helped evacuate them.

The most amazing thing about EGM, ME3Recalibrated and BackOff is they are entirely in the spirit of ME frenchise. It's content that could've been created by the devs and if present in the main game, they would be praised for the most part. It's really amazing this came from fans creating content without any support from the company, with tools they created.

Post attempt number 2. Still no poetics. Did try Sherlock Holmes yesterday and decided to rather just watch a let's play on it. Let somebody else suffer the controls. So moar ME3. Kathrine was a busy bee in the main quest, wrapping up the Quarian and Asari arcs. Sided with the Quarians, saved civilians instead of Koris and learned that I only needed to press the left mouse button to aim the laser, not both. Which made things a lot easier. Got some new glasses as well. Then it was finally time for Citadel dlc. Was kind of sick of Liara being bedazzled by the outfit Shepard had worn since the beginning of the game, so found Kathrine something new to wear. Died so many times on the solo thing, until half way through when I decided to be clever instead and use the stasis bubble. The rest went well. Liara was outfit admirer, Edi was caller number two and James was the cavalry. Casino date went very well. Ashley was the date, since I figure Kathrine would have tried to start a Girls night out tradition if the events of ME2 hadn't happened and now was the perfect chance. Her distraction lines were also funny. Touch my muscles! Pure steel!. Edi and Tali were the archive buddies and thus everyone on the roster got some time on the squad. Final push was Tali and Ashley, which were also the go to team in ME1. So blast from the past, or something in that direction. Pink and blue, hue hue hue. Final fight went very well, only died once near the end, when Kathrine got stuck on some boxes and the meanies filled her with holes. But otherwise it was very manageable and no need to bang head against desk. Clone was offered mercy and Kathrine did not kill Brooks. Ashley did . Which is against the theme, but I just really dislike her smug little face. Ended the session with a bit of fun in the arena with Edi + Ash and Jack + Samara. Also did the base game Citadel meet ups with Ash and Jack. Next session is probably fuel station and maybe some more N7 stuff, then Sanctuary and finally the party and that silly photo.

I downloaded ME3Recalibrated. Haven't installed it yet because I'm testing another unreleased mod (not mine) and don't want to risk a conflict.

"Hey Alec, well Illium took an interesting turn. Not only did I find Liara, but I met some old acquaintances too. I received a message from the rachni queen through an asari, who believes that the Reapers initially changed her people, which resulted in the rachni wars. She promised me her support in my fight against the Reapers. Good thing I let her go on Noveria. Then I met Gianna Parasini (undercover again, and I helped her a little), Shiala (helped her too) and even my biggest fan. Who is still a big dork, but he's alright. Liara is different from the time I last saw her. She's colder, more ruthless, but I kind of get why she is. Oh man, Alec, she's the one who gave me to Cerberus so they'd rebuild me. Because she couldn't let go. I'm not mad at her. It's just a strange situation I'm in currently. But at least I can fight those responsible for taking the colonists. And Liara told me that the Shadow Broker had my body, and that she got it back. Together with a friend, Feron. But he was captured by the Shadow Broker so she could get away, and it's been eating her up. I can see it. She's doing everything to get him back, and I mean everything. She kills people, uses people. It's crazy. I wanted to help her, if only so she might be a little more like her old self. Cerberus had given me intel about the Broker, so I gave it to her and we made plans to meet up at her apartment in the evening. With still some time to kill I checked out the shops and the bar on Nos Astra, the beautiful city we were at. I know, I said I try to stay away from drinks, but it isn't every day you get to visit an asari city and to taste new ones. Later, when we arrived at Liara's apartment, the cops were there. An asari Spectre, Vasir, told me that someone had tried to kill Liara. This was surprising, but it seems getting closer to the Shadow Broker wasn't exactly safe. I found out she went to the Dracon Trade Center to meet up with another contact of her, a salarian. Vasir took us there with her car. It was bad, Alec. A bomb went off just when we arrived. Took out 3 floors, filled with innocent people. The worst thing is that I was with the person who initiated all of this. Yeah. Liara joined us at some point and revealed that Vasir was behind it all. She wanted Liara dead, because she had a deal with the Shadow Broker. He gave her valuable intel that kept the Citadel safe, in exchange for her making some unpleasant people disappear for the Broker. People like Liara. Unfortunately Vasir fled with some data Liara needed to find Feron. We 'borrowed' a taxi to follow Vasir in her skycar, until she collided with some other car and crashed down at a hotel. She was wounded, and we soon caught up to her. And when everything was over she was so badly wounded that she died. Liara got her data, and with it the location of the Shadow Broker's ship. So now we're on the way. This guy is a huge deal, probably the most famous information trader out there. That we came so close... It's quite exciting. I'll keep you posted. -Dee" Illium tourist pics (not quite ): 1 death again, killed by Vasir. Should've stayed in cover when my health was halfway down, but the idiot that I am, I went out and got Shockwave'd

A quick session with Kathrine. Messed around with fuel and communications for Hackett before raiding Sanctuary. It went well, but I'm kind of dreading the Earth portion. Then it was back to the Citadel. Armax date with Jack, then took Ash, Jack, Kasumi, Edi and Samara on some matches. Tried the mirror match and lost every time, but made it to the third round one time, so I'm optimistic on that front. Finally did the Samara date on the Citadel. Good to see that Kathrine is still super creepy and pushy. Thinking of sticking with the just hug version. Head canon that Kathrine had a bit of a cry in Samara's bosom, some words of comfort and then a renewed sense of purpose. Party time is later time. A small addition to yesterdays session, since combat stuff is supposed to be fun? Shortly before the final fight, Kathrine invested in some cluster grenades. Then during the first portion, Kathrine was hunkered behind the supply station while Brooky and the brain were on the other side. So Kathrine decided to toss some cluster grenades out, while Ashley flung some inferno grenades. Figured that would be it, just some damage and then fight as normal. Then suddenly, Brooks comes flying over the station, on fire and smashes on the ground besides Kathrine, knocked out. And she stayed there until the second portion. I found it amusing at least. So moral of the story is, watch out for cluster grenades, they pack quite the punch.

Melody Shepard, Colonist/Sole Survivor/Infiltrator, ME3 Insanity: Melody received word that Kal'Reegar and his marine squad had been killed in action, defending a turian facility from Reaper attack. Damn shame. The Alliance strategists needed a few days to plan the assault on Cerberus HQ, so the Normandy crew were free to take a little R&R until them. Melody retreated to her apartment on the Silversun Strip. She was able to spend some time with her friends: Drinks with Cortez in Purgatory. Later, he took her for a shuttle flight with the inertial compensators turned off, real white-knuckle stuff. Movie night with Tali: saw her favourite film, Fleet and Flotilla, about a star-crossed turian/quarian couple. Melody now understood Tali's recent interactions with Garrus in a new light. Was treated to a close-up view of James' N7 tattoo, which she encourage him to live up to. Later, she caught a biotiball game with him and Cortez. Despite not being a huge fan of the sport, she correctly guessed that the human team's home advantage would spur them to victory over their asari opponents. Accepted a thoughtful gift from EDI, after explaining to her that spending thousands of a Joker's own credits on a gift for him is likely to backfire. Found Zaeed, of all people, trying to win a prize from a claw game. He practically declared war on the thing. Supported Traynor in her space-chess match by trash-talking her nemesis. Traynor celebrated her victory with a well-earned soak in the hot tub. Hung out with Miranda, reminiscing about the craziness of their lives, before hitting the casino and completely failing to enjoy themselves like normal people. Attempted to set Garrus up on a date, only to watch the guy crash and burn. She suspected that he had someone else on his mind. Encountered Kasumi in the casino, planning a heist in aid of war refugees. Melody thoroughly approved. Spent some downtime with Liara; two friends doing little besides enjoying each other's company in front of a piano. At Kolyat Krios' request, held a memorial service for Thane, in which she eulogized him as a hero. Tali, Garrus, EDI and Joker all shared memories of their fallen comrade. Played a match in the Armax Arena with Jack (which I managed to screw up twice: enhanced enemy damage was still in effect after my last "real" Arena matches), and met her biotic varren. Had dinner with Kaidan. He cooked, and was surprisingly good at it. Played arcade games with Jacob. He lost. Bailed Grunt out of jail following an... incident on the Presidium. Assured the C-Sec officer in charge that it was all part of the first krogan Spectre's secret mission, Operation Fire Cobra Claw. ...we're still talking about shopping, right? We're definitely still talking about dinner: My Shepards never take the other dialogue option. Tali is not to be mocked. Why is there no "Quarian Bestie" achievement? Trash-talk Melody's science officer and you will receive back in kind: Trash-talk Melody's gaming skills and you will receive back in kind: I hadn't seen this line before, my previous Shepards insisted that Grunt apologise: Three rounds in the clip, minimal recoil on the first two, none at all on the third: why can't the cut-scene CLAYMOAR be an actual thing?

Jeph Shepard, Spacer/Sentinel/Butcher of Torfan: - As we rolled into Tuchanka, we saw that a new type of Reaper had parked itself next to the Shroud facility where we were going to place the genophage cure. Can't be a coincidence. Then I got a message from the dalatrass asking me to sabotage the cure in exchange for salarian support. I know I fought this when the cure was in the hands of Saren, but this time it was different. Wrex, Grunt, and even Eve were all krogan I liked, it they were also likely to be the ones with the most krogan influence. I truly believed they could make things better for their people, because that's what they wanted. I couldn't stab them in the back this way. I already knew there were cracks in the salarian resolve. If Kirrahe, Mordin, Maelon (dead, but still indicative of trends) and Padok Wiks were all opposed to the genophage and/or willing to fight for us all, it was likely true of others. She'd either come around or the salarians would die. That was their choice to make. - When we touched down, there was already a Reaper presence. I forgot how much fun it was to fight with Wrex. Having Liara and Garrus with us made it seem like old times, when things were tight but that one Reaper didn't seem as scary as the shitload we have now. Then Wrex's brother Wreav complained about a salarian being there. I objected, as did Wrex. Then Eve told them they could either live in the past or fight the enemy they were born to kill: Reapers. Given how powerful they were as fighters, I half-wondered if that wasn't true. Their strength, regeneration and longevity all pointed to being designed to take on something massively powerful. Not that I had any idea who could be behind such a thing but we know the Protheans visited Earth. Maybe they also went to Tuchanka. - Things like a road out and a turian ship crash landing nearby led to myself, Garrus and Liara having to go through some underground tunnels. Eve referred to it as the City of the Ancients, a place that's been abandoned for thousands of years. We were feeling tremors, which Eve attributed to "Kalros, the mother of all thresher maws", artwork of whom we found adorning one of the walls. All indications are that it's huge, even in comparison to other thresher maws. Also found a dead creature that we couldn't immediately identify but learned was a rachni. Mutated version. No idea how since I'd killed the queen. - When we got outside, saw streams, a few small bridges, and plants growing. For Tuchanka, this had to be the Garden of Eden. What we saw here showed what the krogan could be if allowed to flourish. - Kalros put in an appearance and took out Wreav's tank. Then we made it to the Shroud. Eve said we could use these hammers there to summon Kalros to attack the Reaper. Not so much to defeat it but distract it long enough for the cure to be released from the Shroud. You do know you're a bad ass when a krogan calls you brother and says your name will mean "hero" to them forever after. Never been this close to a Reaper before. Sovereign and Harbinger were both holograms when we talked. The ones on Earth and Menae weren't up close. This one I was running toward. - Then this happened. - Mordin made it to the Shroud but damage done, and the necessity of counteracting STG sabotage, meant he had to go up the tower. He wouldn't be returning. However, he was at peace with what he did, knowing there was a good future in store for the krogan with Wrex and Eve at the helm. - The cure for the genophage fell from the sky like a gentle snowfall, marking a new hope for the krogan. - I was sad to have lost a friend but happy the krogan had a future. I've done questionable things in my life, including killing batarians who had surrendered and sending the rachni back into extinction but this one I could feel good about. Wrex said he'd start sending troops to Palaven immediately and, that when the time came, he'd stand with Earth. I guess giving his race a future has earned his loyalty. Primarch Victus also said he would be sending ships to aid Earth since he'd gotten the krogan support he needed. This was what it was all about. Working together. Not stabbing each other in the back out of fear. That was the Cerberus way and I wouldn't go down that path. - Garrus convinced me to get some sleep but it was nightmares. That kid again. Heard the voices of the dead. I remember some of Ash's last words, her telling me to go back for Kaidan. I wonder if she knew something had been brewing between he and I. I also heard Mordin, saying "someone else might have gotten it wrong". I also thought about Kate Bowman and the miners on X57. I'd let them die to make sure Balak and the other batarian terrorists didn't escape. Not sure I'd make that choice if I had it to do over again. - The salarian councilor called. He was a little bitter about the genophage cure but he called because he had a suspicion that Udina was dirty. Not sure why he'd call in a human Spectre about that unless it was because he knew Udina and I had never gotten along. I agreed to come to meet with him about it.

Nick Shepard (Adept, Earthborn, Sole Survivor) hit up Illium to do Miranda's loyalty mission and recruit Samara and Thane. The Matriarch bartender cracks me up.

"Hey Alec. Bloody hell. What happened a couple of hours ago is absolutely crazy. And yes, I know that a lot is crazy with me. Liara, Kasumi and I successfully infiltrated the Shadow Broker's ship. Had to fight a gazillion of his mooks to get there, and inside we met resistance as well, but it was all so worth it. We found Feron, alive. But he was strapped to a device and had been tortured for the past 2 years. Must've been brutal. We couldn't get him out of there right away, so we left to not harm him any further and found the Broker in central operations, just like Feron had told us. Should've seen the guy, Alec. He was huge, and I'm not talking krogan huge, but even bigger. Liara knew what he was, a yahg. A pre-spaceflight species that massacred the Council's first contact teams and was thus quarantined to their homeworld. When Liara mused that he had been taken from his homeworld as a trophy or pet initially, he got mad. Jackpot. He was so strong, he broke his desk apart and threw it at us, hitting Kasumi in the process. But there was no time to check up on her, this guy meant serious business. And it was tough, but we took him down. Various Shadow Broker operatives called in because there was a momentary power failure after we took him down and the connection had been cut. After a moment Liara responded and took over the Broker's network. I asked her if that's really what she wanted, but she seemed content. Emotional, but content. Well, having the Shadow Broker on my side against the Reapers definitely won't hurt, so I'm not complaining. Both Kasumi and Feron were also fine, so I checked out the ship a bit. So much information, so many spy vids. I saw that this fuck had information on all my squadmates. Their secrets. Even information on people like Anderson or Hackett. I only skipped through some. No way I'd sniff around in other people's lives. I also had a small chat with Feron and I'm glad he's alright. Without him I wouldn't be here. After I was sure Liara had settled in nicely for the moment, I talked some more with her. We barely had time to catch up when this mess started, so I invited her onto the Normandy. I waited for her to get ready, then we took the shuttle. I gave her some time to check out the SR-2 and prepared some drinks for us in the meantime. I'm really glad we did this. Not only could we catch up a bit, but Liara gave me back my old dog tags, sent to her by Hackett. And that means I have your ring back, too. You can't believe how happy I am right now. I hope I'll never lose it again. -Dee" Broker business: A Widow Infiltrator made the Shadow Broker fight almost ridiculously easy, and short too (similar to my Soldier run back then with the Viper). I used the Locust to get the Shields down, then it only took 2 shots from the Widow to get past the armor layer. Nice
