More Barbara "Barbie" Shepard...
Warden Kuril: As this is a high security facility, I must ask you to surrender your weapons.
Barbie: I don't have any weapons.
Kuril: You're armed to teeth.
Barbie: I don't have any weapons.
Kuril: Then what do you call those guns?
Barbie: I call this on "Sam", this one "Boris", this one "Lisa", and this one "Little Johnny".
Kuril: Spirits, that's not what I meant.
Barbie: My name is 'Barbara', not 'Spirits'. People call me 'Barbie'!
Kuril: It's a Turian expression and--- you know what, never mind. Just go on ahead in.
* * *
Kuril: (over intercom) You're more valuable as a prisoner instead of a customer. Step into the open cell
and no one will get hurt.
Barbie: Ooh! Kinky! But I don't have time right now. I can stop by later if you're still interested.
Kuril: Activate systems!
* * *
Mordin: Must free Jack from Cryo.
Barbie: (pressing all the buttons) Sorry, what? I wasn't listening.
Jack wakes up and destroys three YMIR mechs.
Garrus: Impressive!
Barbie: I don't need biotics to do that! Send me more mechs!
* * *
Jack: What do you want?
Barbie: Your money or your life! (turns to Garrus) I always wanted to say that.
Jack: You'll have to kill me.
Barbie: I love a challenge!
Garrus: Everyone just calm down!
Barbie: You don't think I'm calm?
Garrus: You're only calm when you're sleeping. Which feels like never.
Mordin: I have pills that should help.
Jack: HEY!! (everyone turns to Jack) Do you want me or not?
Barbie: Oh right, you're still here. Do you want to join us?
Jack: Only if you give me access to Cerberus databases.
Barbie: Great! You're going to love it! I'm making ice cream!
Jack: Wonderful. At least it beats prison.
Garrus: You're going to miss prison.
* * *
Barbie: Hey Joker, what's up?
*sounds of porn*
Joker: (frantically closing browser windows) Uh nothing! Nothing all!
Barbie: Ugh, laaaaaaaaaame! Let me show you the real freaky stuff!
Joker: (whimpering) Please don't...

More Barbara "Barbie" Shepard...
Illusive Man: We caught a break! One of our just colonies just went silent. If it's not under attack it soon will be. Has Mordin delivered the counter-measure for the seeker swarms?
Barbie: No! Yes! Maybe? I haven't checked my messages yet. I forgot my password.
Illusive Man: He's on the ship with you. You could just go in and ask him.
Barbie: He hates it when I interfere in his work.
Illusive Man: Why are you interfering in his work?
Barbie: Because he's doing it wrong!!
Mordin: (from the other room) I heard that!
Illusive Man: Barbie, he's a scientist. You're not.
Barbie: I am too a scientist! I earned that degree!
Illusive Man: Wait what?
Barbie: Yeah! Got my Ph.D's in just under a year. No idea why everyone else found them so hard.
Illusive Man: Then why didn't you just do it yourself instead of having Mordin do it?
Barbie: Because science takes too long! I like shooting instead!
Illusive Man: Just... go to the colony and stop the Collectors all right?
Barbie: Yes sir, Mr. Man, sir! (logs off)
Illusive Man: (pours bourbon into glass then drinks the bottle) Why didn't I let Miranda put in that control chip?
* * *
Barbie: Mordin, are sure these armor upgrades will work?
Mordin: (over comms) Unknown. Only way to be sure is contact with seeker swarms. Look forward to seeing if you survive.
Jacob: Great.
Barbie: (running) Let's go find a seeker swarm!
Miranda: Is it too much to ask that the armor upgrades only help us and not her?
Mordin: If any consolation, upgrades not installed in her armor.
Miranda: What?
Mordin: Studied samples, data. Seeker swarms likely to have little affect on Shepard. Shepard too energetic to be frozen by swarms.
Barbie: (off in distance, getting bit by seeker swarm) Aaaah! They're like mosquitos! Only they tickle more!
Jacob: It was worth a shot.
* * *
Mechanic: Half the colony is in there! Do something!
Barbie: It's too late. I can't fly without a ship. Note to self: get Mordin to bio-engineer the ability to fly. Or give me wings. Wings would be cool! Or rocket boots!
Ashley: Oh thank God for your help! I---
Barbie: Ashley!
Ashley: FUUUUUUUUCK!!
Barbie: Oh it's so good to see you too! How have you been?
Ashley: Two years. For two years I was free. Free from you! WHY DID YOU COME BACK????
Barbie: Oh you know how it goes. You get tossed into space, then Cerberus finds you and rebuilds you better than ever!
Ashley: You're with Cerberus now?
Barbie: Actually, they're with me!
Miranda and Jacob: (frantically backing away)
Ashley: I can't work with you as long as you're still with Cerberus. You know how it goes. Alliance rules! Bye! (sprints off)
(one more post to go and then I should be caught up)

Ready to go for Grunt's mission but I'll save that for next time. I did kill lots of pyjaks for Ratch though. Finally got a name for those li'l space monkey guys from Eletania! Besides space monkeys, I learned that space cows also exist in all three games. I wish I could remember where Shepard found them in ME2 but I'm pretty sure they're there. Also, in the Citadel DLC at Armax Arsenal Arena, a space cow is shown as a competitor. EDIT: They're seen in the Overlord DLC. Also, Gil Brodie apparently makes mention of them in MEA. Yeah Gil does, he asks Ryder if he has ever eaten space cow tongue!!!!!!

So, anyone think the Nakmor rep will be talking to Wrex about the AI? Or, maybe the clan was already set on joining the Initiative but would have stayed on Tuchanka if they got a better deal from Wrex?
Nothing like a little awkwardness between old friends.
It took me a while to initiate this since I was somewhat undecided about romancing anyone. But Garrus is just too adorable to pass up.
A little Gilbert-and-Sullivan (modified) to pass the time.
Didn't stop Mordin from shooting Maelon (first time for that) but suggested he keep the data. Better to have it and not need it.
Just started Overlord. Finished the first part and now heading out in the tissue-paper-mobile....I mean, the Hammerhead.

Owen Shepard: Utukku, the planet where Wrex's scouts went messing. There were rumors of rachni, though nothing substantiated. James thought it was crazy that Faith had let the rachni queen go. I said it was the right call, that genocide didn't make sense. When we landed, the first krogan we encountered, the leader of Aralakh Company, was none other than Grunt. My baby boy, who I'd hatched fresh out of his tank and then helped through his puberty ritual on Tuchanka, was now leading a team of krogan. We fell. The building on the edge of a cave in collapse with us inside. Grunt and his team followed along from above while me and mine went into the tunnels. Found a gun that shoots fire like those vorcha are always running around with. Came in useful in burning down that strange webbing which would otherwise block our way. Then we found these...pods...eggs? Something like that. Creepy as hell. They seemed to have some kind of metal tubing around them. Also, they explode when you get near them. What the hell kind of egg explodes? Definitely found coils on the ground that looked like Reaper tech. That could explain the metal tubes. If the Reapers somehow transformed the rachni like they had humans, turians and krogan...I really feared for what we might find. There were rachni, heavily modified. Then there was this, which damn well looked like a Reaper. Fought our way through husks, cannibals, ravagers, swarmers and Reaper tech to get to the central chamber. There we found the rachni queen that Faith had released a few years ago. She was chained by the Reapers and her children were transformed into monsters. It was no different than what was done to other races. She wanted to be freed, promising to aid us in the fight. I thought back to Faith - she hated aliens, she was cold, she would do whatever it took, sacrificing anyone in her way. Faith took a chance on the rachni queen. Could I do any different? Yes, it might cost us to set her free but I believed it would be worth it in the end. Getting away wasn't going to be easy. There was no way it was going to happen without someone running interference. That someone was Grunt. I thought this might be his last stand and I can't tell you how sorry I felt about that. When we came above ground, I felt sadness as I approached the shuttle. There was no one but my squad in evidence. I was about to board the shuttle when I heard something. I turned around and found a tired, bloody and barely standing krogan. Grunt had survived! Like I said, he was my boy. I was his krantt. Nothing was going to change that. Back on the Normandy, Mordin said the cure was complete. All that was needed was a way to distribute it to all of the krogan on Tuchanka. That was going to take some thought. Meanwhile, I still had that mission Victus wanted me to do. If Mordin spent some time thinking on the solution I'd be able to take care of this. I stopped to check out some Cerberus activity on Benning. The reports went from Cerberus was recruiting to taking civilians against their will to gunning civilians down in the streets. Cerberus claimed it wasn't them. Hackett believed that story. I didn't. After all I'd seen Cerberus to do other humans, what was a little massacre to them? Landed on Tuchanka to rescue Victus's squad. Turned out there was some kind of big bomb in the hands of Cerberus. It was set to go off in a highly populated area. Still had no idea what was really going on and the primarch wasn't talking. After consulting with Hackett, he suggested trying to find out the truth. On the shuttle back down, Lt. Victus revealed that it was a turian bomb planted on Tuchanka centuries ago after the Krogan Rebellions. Cerberus had found out about it and wanted to use it to destroy the krogan/turian alliance. Can't figure out the why of it. That just helps the Reapers win. Then we found the bomb. That motherfucker was big. Lt. Victus had to attempt to disarm the bomb while we fought off Cerberus troops. Unfortunately, Cerberus had made sure the bomb couldn't be turned off so easily. It required manually separating the trigger from the bomb. In the end, he sacrificed his own life to prevent that bomb from going off. Back on the Normandy I had to keep the peace between Wrex and Victus. I pointed out that Wrex would have done the same thing had their roles been reversed and that the primarch's son died making it right. They both got the point. Now, there was one more thing before attending to the genophage cure. Cerberus was up to something else on Tuchanka and I needed to stop whatever it was. They were trying to take control of some old krogan cannons. We put a stop to them. This worked in our favor since now the krogan could use those cannons against their enemies. Met with Steve near the Normandy dock on the Citadel. I'd been telling him to take some downtime. Didn't want to see him worn out. He was still suffering from the loss of his husband. I wanted him to move on, not just because there was a war, or for me, but because he deserved better. He was considering putting the audio recording of Robert's last words on the memorial wall in the Holding Docks. Okay, now it was time to cure the genophage. Piece of cake. Well, except for that Reaper that parked itself next to the Shroud that we were using to release the genophage cure. A Reaper than was releasing toxic gases into the air. To make this happen, a human (me) managed to convince a krogan, a turian and a salarian to combine forces. Mortal enemies, all of them, and now working together. Nothing like extinction to bring us together. Of course, the dalatrass tried to convince me to stab the krogan in the back - my friend, Wrex, and my baby boy, Grunt. If me and my sister were willing to unleash the rachni on the galaxy why not the krogan? The offer was the full support of the salarians for the Crucible and their fleets. Nah, I was going to pass. This thing also threatened Mordin if I were to try to stop him. I guess all the spying and backstabbing salarians do makes them forget that some people are loyal to one another. They'd all given me their loyalty and I wasn't about to forget it. We hit the ground fighting. There were husks but they went down fairly easy, especially with multiple krogan on the scene. It was when the fight ended that the problems began. Wreav, half-brother of Wrex, complained about the presence of a salarian. Wrex headbutted him for that but it was Eve that got through to them. When she talked, every male krogan got quiet. She talked about fighting the enemy they were born to defeat, the Reapers, so that they could build a new future for their people. That rallied them like nothing else. We got moving. Artimec Wing, turian fighters, were to attack from the air while the rest of us fought on the ground. Problem was the road was destroyed and we couldn't easily get through. They were trying to rig something with the tanks when a fighter crashed into the ground. I told them to get out with Eve while my squad entered into an underground tunnel. Even said it was the City of the Ancients and that no map of it existed. Found some interesting artwork. Liara suggested that the krogan had once had artists among them. It just shows what they could be when given the chance. We'd felt serious tremors but Wrex wasn't experiencing them. Eve said that it was rumored that Kalros, the mother of all thresher maws, lived down here. When we saw artwork of what we guessed was Kalros we knew the threat was real. No idea if she's the literal mother of all thresher maws or just the biggest one around. [Damn, first death, I think. Sigh.] Got our first glimpse of Kalros when she tore apart our bridge. I'd killed several thresher maws in my time but I don't think all of them combined were as big as Kalros. We managed to meet up with Wrex but Wreav's truck was destroyed by Kalros. Wrex declared him dead. When we got near the Shroud, they told me of a plan to sic Kalros on the Reaper. It required activating two hammers. They were, of course, just a few yards from the Reaper. It seemed like our only chance. Before I took off, Wrex stopped me. He said for what I'd done, I was his brother, a champion of the krogan and my name would me "hero" to their people. And the dalatrass expected me to throw that away? Guess she doesn't know anything about friendship. As we ran TOWARD the Reaper, the remnants of Artimec Wing showed up to distract it. Just what we needed so we could get to those maw hammers. Kalros showed up, just as Eve had said. She fought that damn Reaper, taking it down. It did not get up again. Made it to the Shroud. The place was falling apart because there was so much destruction. Mordin would have to go to the top of the Shroud to deploy the cure. He knew he wouldn't come back. I didn't want him to go. He was my friend. He was also a hero, willing to die for what he believed in. Just shows how far he'd come from when we first met. I was going to miss him. The release of the genophage was interesting, to say the least. Hope was falling from the sky like snowflakes. Eve told me her true name, Bakara. Wrex said that he was immediately sending troops to Palaven. He also said, when the time came, he'd be right by my side on Earth. Like I said, he was my friend. Couldn't, wouldn't, stab him in the back. Victus also said he's be sending support for Earth. Garrus urged me to get some rest but I'm not sure that's what it really was. It was that nightmare again about the boy I'd seen on Earth. Again, he died in flames. This time I heard the voices of the dead. Faith was the one that most bothered me. I also talked to the salarian Councilor. He had a suspicion that Udina was up to something and asked to meet with me.

I just had a chat with Joker and noticed that holy shit, he's annoying on this first game. He keeps on bragging about how he is the best pilot there is and on and on. It's nice to see he has changed those thoughts after the Normandy is destroyed by the Collectors.
That is, until we assume control of you and have to activate the Normandy's contermeasures. (Which has me thinking: Cerberus could've helped with his problem in some way)
You Humans are all racist!
Pressly Talking about the Blitz. He recognizes later that Shepard was the decisive factor on the battlefield.
Talking with Garrus

Owen Shepard: Talked with Hackett. He mentioned we were getting STG support, despite me curing the genophage. He suggested they weren't going to risk the Salarian Union just because some dalatrass didn't get her way. It's great that they're no stupid. Wish the same could be said for the asari. He wondered how I'd gotten Aria's cooperation. Wasn't so hard when she knew the galaxy was going down in flames without it. At least that's one asari (besides Liara) who understands. I got messages from the dalatrass and Wrex. She fears the krogan will attack the salarians once the war is over. Meanwhile, the krogan are fighting for the turians - who they hated just as much - and are even said to be getting along with each other. She really doesn't understand. The turians sacrificed their lives to prevent that bomb from going off on Tuchanka (sure, they put it there, but hundreds of years ago). Salarians (Mordin and Maelon) cured the genophage. That's not something the krogan are likely to forget. Liara visited me in my cabin. She was creating something like a Prothean beacon that would contain information on our races, on the Reapers and the blueprints for the Crucible. Should be lose the war she wanted the next cycle to be as prepared as possible. Then she wanted my opinion on what to write about me. I wasn't in it for the fame and glory. If something was to be written, it should be the truth. So often it's something to make us look good. Maybe a future generation can know that, even if they're not perfect it doesn't mean they can't succeed. Though Liara ran with Faith, and my interactions with her before now were limited to helping her free Feron and become the new Shadow Broker, somehow she and I have become good friends. I'm glad. Friends are few and far between for me and I'd like to hang on to whoever takes the effort to become one. That's all for now. Not sure that last image will come through. Imgur is giving me a difficult time uploading images (unless it's a post, but you can only do those once every hour). Postimages.org takes the upload but doesn't always display the image. Anyway, time for work. Next post will be Cerberus Coup.

MegaIllusiveMan : Sad to say that very lovely scar will not make it into ME2. I guess reconstructing his body did away with it. I saw a mod for ME2 that lets you put those scars on CC. I'll try out and see the best I can do to get this same scar back. Looking forward to playing ME2

Conversation with the Crew
This takes me back to that little discussion we had on this thread about Avina not mentioning the Salarians' role on creating the genophage, even if it was public knowledge.
Two years later, I meet Okeer and Wrex says he's a madman that can't be trusted.
The Geth wouldn't be able to locate us, because they don't use windows.
I'm not looking at you, Legion
Does this unit have a soul?

MegaIllusiveMan: Sorry, it's hard to comment on select pictures. It's easier to tag you. I do think Wrex gives the most detail of his past of any of the non-human squadmates. Going into what he does in ME2 makes sense. Wrex was something of a thinker who wanted better for his people. As Bakara later says, "he's a mutant" in that regard. For the geth, yes, what Tali talks about is the very reason the quarians tried to destroy them. It wasn't because they were AI. They sort of always knew they were. Instead, it was because they were asking questions about their existence, questions typically only asked by living beings of themselves. This was a step beyond AI. A step the only other AI we saw (EDI) also made. This was the difference between standard AI and these synthetic beings who questioned their place in the universe. It's why I like the geth, even though my Shepard's don't like them at all until meeting Legion. Tali has always know, on some level, that the quarians were wrong. She definitely knew it in ME2.

I have my favorite broshep and femshep in ME3. Running Engineer on both. Broshep is romancing Ash, and femshep is romancing no one. I finished Omega with the femshep and finished Mars with the broshep. A little bummed Ash will get side lined for a decent part of the game. But I decided to give these two a break for now.
I actually went back to ME2 tp play another broshep that I have. But this time as Soldier. I have heard so many negative things about soldier, but honestly, this class is super fun. I heard so many people say its boring or things like, why play as just some guy that can shoot stuff when you can move stuff with your mind. But I don't get the hate? Soldier has awesome powers, his DPS is insane, and he can blow through things so easily. I love the Mattock and Geth Plasma Shotgun on the soldier. This is probably the easiest insanity I have played next to Sentinel. I just got Tali and I plan to romance her on this run.
I also discovered that if you save the conversation with Ken and Gaby about playing cards, they actually invite Tali along and they have a special line after the game. I'm amazed I am still discovering new things like this quite frequently. So much amazing attention to detail in this series.

Hey dmc1001 if you don't mind instead of posting for William yesterday I am just going to say I did what you did if that's OK

So yesterday William achieved a fair bit. First back to Tuchunka to deal with the Planet killer bomb, which is one of my favourite missions in the game, lots of explosions and lots of killing Cerberus troopers at which William excelled and even revelled!!!! Unfortunately the Primarchs son tarquin was forced to sacrifice himself to disarm it but in doing so redeemed his earlier mistakes of judgement. It was a tough conversation Shepard had to have with primarch Victus. Then it was time to take back a planetary cannon that Cerberus had taken control of, again William and crew rolled through the enemy without too much drama and secured it so Hackett could send in a team to make sure it was held. Back on board William finally remembered to catch-up with Eve in the med bay and found her background intriguing. He was also impressed with her resolve to support Wrex in taking the Krogan in a less violent direction and to re-secure the female participation in the leadership of their people. Headed to The Citadel to speak to the black market arms dealer, then to General Oraka and then to Aria and secured The Alliance the use of some blood thirsty merc's. Helped an engineer out with some power supply issues then headed to the hospital to hear more of The Saga of Tiptree. Spoke to Liara and she told me to speak to Varla Bon re some more merc's but as I'd already recovered the asset Varla had nothing to say, for a change Checked in with Bilal Osoba's squd mates as they raised a glass to him at Purgatory, then off to the Mu relay to check on the missing krogan Scouts for Wrex. It was great to see Grunt all grown up and leading Wrex's best commando company, but whilst picking up supplies William found a quick way down to the caves/tunnels where they had died. William, Liara and Garrus did a slow sweep of the tunnels finding numerous eggs and Rachni to clear which they did effectively but not without disgust. Finally they broke through to the main chamber and were confronted with their old friend from Noveria The Rachni Queen. William had to hen decide again whether to let her live or to retreat with grunt and Aralakh company. Again William couldn't condemn a species to extinction so decided to rescue her forcing Grunt to leave his team and show them the way out. They mad it most of the way but faced with superior numbers Grunt volunteered to hold them off while Shepard and team made a run for it. Then as they prepared to leave a soaked in blood "hungry" Grunt staggered out from the caves. William was glad to not have another life of a friend on his hands. Today William will be off to Tuchunka again to cure the Genophage. Pic's Tarquin makes the ultimate sacrifice Hey Grunt lets go kill some Rachni yeah lets let this one go

(would post a pic but Imgur isn't loading so can't upload it ) Overlord! David can't help it. BTW, I'm having the same issue with Imgur. I can "post" images (once every hour...) but uploading them doesn't work. There's also Postimages. I don't prefer it but it works when needed. EDIT: I reported the problem earlier today. Checked just now and it seems to be working.
