Owen Shepard: Went back to the Citadel to see what was up with Udina. When we got there, there was no response from the docking bay. Joker tried the emergency channel and got through to, of all people, Thane. He said Cerberus were everywhere and that he'd gotten separated from Kaidan, who needed to protect the Council. Cortez dropped me, James and Garrus into a hot zone. Cerberus troops everywhere. Once they were taken care of we tended to Bailey, who'd taken a shot to the gut. Got Bailey inside, slapped some medi-gel on him and let him get to a terminal. Cerberus had control over the main channels but Bailey was able to set up a secondary channel so we could communicate. One thing Bailey did find was a message from Council Valern - the salarian - saying that the possibility of betrayal from within was likely. He was supposed t meet with the executor, something that only happened when someone high up was about to be arrested. Had to be Udina he was talking about. Shit. Kaidan was protecting him. That could end up being problematic given that Kaidan periodically still distrusted me. Nothing for it but to move ahead. I heard from Thane. He sounds like hell. I knew he was in bad shape when I saw him at Huerta. All this activity had to be wearing him down. I don't know where he was, and I doubted an open channel was going to be a way to tell me, but I headed to the executor's office. It was a defensible place and likely that Valern was there. Not my favorite person but, I have to admit, he still trusted me enough to bring me in on information suggesting Udina was dirty. Had to admit I got more and more pissed as I went along. Cerberus was very thorough. I hadn't seen a single C-Sec officer alive. Cerberus killed them all and I couldn't even figure out their endgame. I wonder if TIM was going to deny this like he had Benning? No immediate sign of Valern near the office so we headed up the stairs. Maybe he was holed up inside. I much preferred a grateful Councilor to one that was dead. Besides, finding a new Council in the middle of a war was going to be even more disastrous. What we found was a dead executor and two dead salarian bodyguards. From the window we saw Valern disable his stealth. Can't imagine why since it made him a sitting duck. As if one cue, an assassin leaped down and attacked. We were there in seconds but the assassin seemed to think it was fun. That is, until Thane showed up and put a gun to his head. Weary as he was, Thane put up a hell of a fight, knocking that asshole on his back. Unfortunately, he gutted Thane with a sword, though my friend wasn't dead just yet. The assassin ran. Guess he knew he was outclassed. A skycar chase ensued. While en route, Bailey let us know that the Councilors were being taken to a shuttle bay on the Presidium and sent me their location. We headed that way but the assassin leaped onto our skycar and did some damage, causing it to crash. We got out and fought through more troopers. Saw some new ones, biotics. I thought about the datapad I'd found at Grissom saying Rodriguez was a high priority target. This would have been her fate. Cerberus was making the same old tired announcements like they had on Grissom, saying the people would not be harmed. That didn't stop them from gunning down everyone they saw. We had to follow the assassin and his cronies up an elevator. Fortunately, Bailey was taking control, making it stop at every floor. We did catch up to the elevator the Council was using and leaped on top of it. Kaidan fired up at us, and I couldn't blame him, but I also couldn't shoot back. We open the fire hatch and dropped down. Didn't know if there were enemies in so had our guns drawn. Kaidan didn't know what to think but he also didn't fire. I told Garrus and James to stand down. It was the only way to earn trust. I told them Udina was behind this. Tevos finally FINALLY acknowledged that mistrusting me in the past had been a mistake. Udina acted as though I hadn't made my accusation and went to open the door. I said Cerberus was right behind me and would come in. It was only after Udina shoved Tevos to the ground a pulled a gun on her that Kaidan acted. I could have fired myself but I didn't want to be accused of making sure he couldn't talk. Kaidan did it instead. I could tell he wasn't happy about it but he did what had to be done. Then the door was opened and through it came Bailey and others from C-Sec. He told them that if I hadn't shown that Cerberus would have killed them. Even Sparatus acknowledged he owed me for saving his life and helping Palaven. I felt like the universe just turned upside down. I just want it noted that Faith chose Anderson for Councilor and he never would have betrayed us under any circumstances. Bailey told me Thane was in surgery but there were complications. He suggested if I wanted to see Thane I'd better go now. If you had asked me two years ago if I would ever consider an assassin to be a true friend, I'd have laughed in your face. Now I was feeling emotional about losing another friend. I'd known it was coming since we first met but to see him take a serious hit in a fight made it worse. Maybe it was better this way. He wouldn't want to die in bed but instead as a warrior. Valern called Thane a hero. High praise. I went to Huerta. A doctor told me Thane was in his final moments. I went into the room. Kolyat was there. Thane started saying a prayer but couldn't finished. Kolyat continued but asked if I'd like to join. I said yet and he pulled out a prayer book. It was a prayer of salvation and I wondered by he asked for it given that his last act was heroic. Kolyat told me that prayer was for me, not him. Even at the end of his life he was thinking of others. I was going to miss him. Helped out a few people around the Citadel and got leads on tech that could help with the Crucible. Finally headed back to the Normandy only to find Kaidan waiting in the boarding tunnel. He still believed I would have shot him if he hadn't backed down, even though I'd told me squad to stand down. Trust was hard with this guy. I told I'd never have shot him, not for any reason. He did mention being in an armed standoff with someone he loved was difficult. I was glad to know he still felt that way about me. Finally, he said the real reason he was there. Hackett had offered him a position but he said he'd turn it down if he could join me on the Normandy. As if I'd have it any other way. Also got a nice look at the "biotic booty" on his way to the Normandy. Back on the Normandy I had a conference call with Anderson and Hackett. Both were surprised about Udina. Anderson knew the assassin and said he was named Kai Leng. There's was also an unexpected side effect of the failed coup. The asari and salarians threw in their full support, both in the war effort and with work on the Crucible. Glad I didn't have to compromise my own morals to make it happen. Instead, I showed them that my way worked. The Crucible was also about 50% complete. They now believed that it was release some kind of energy that would destroy the Reapers but didn't know how it would work. It was believed the missing Catalyst, something the Protheans had never found, would direct that energy. Now we just had to find it. Talked to EDI. She realized the Reapers weren't as infallible as they seemed since one was taken out by a worm. The biggest motherfucking worm anyone ever saw, but still a worm. She also wondered about her purpose since she figured passing on our genes was what organic life was about. (This, according to Tali, was a question by the geth that led to the Morning War.) I told her there was more to us than that. EDI checked her files and, just like that, decided to alter her processing power to give priority to duty, altruism and love. I couldn't help but wonder if the quarians had done this with the geth would there have ever been a war with them? Would they have never sided with the Reapers when offered the power to survive? Not worth spending too much time thinking about it but I'm glad to know EDI is on our side. Other things I did. Found Garrus in front of the memorial wall, looking at the names of those we lost, some that we knew and others from the original Normandy. Then talked to Kaidan. His father was MIA and presumed dead and...there's a good chance he's a husk but I'd never say anything. He's worried about his mother being alone on Earth. Traynor wanted to play chess so we did that. She kicked my ass. Twice. Chess is not like the battlefield. Then I had an interview with Diana Allers. The gist of it was that I needed to let people know that humanity was nowhere near down for the count, despite having lost our councilor, the Alliance parliament and prime minister. People would rise and we'd have to stay alive to make it happen. Then twenty questions from viewers, but nothing I couldn't handle. She flirted me but I gently rebuffed her and she pretended like she hadn't meant to. Finally, James came to talk. Someone forwarded him for an N7 commendation dated the same day the Reapers attacked. He wasn't sure he'd wanted it since the last time he had command a lot of people died. That had been a choice he made: get valuable intel or save people. According to his superiors he made the right decision. No need to question it. I'd pegged him as a cut above the rest right from the start, told him he should accept the commendation, assuming we all survived. Went to Noveria to take out a Cerberus base. I should mention Kaidan was probably going with me anywhere I could take him. Decided against Liara because, according to one of Faith's latter, this is where her mother died. Don't want to bring back unwanted memories. EDI would be good for this mission. I saw a datapad saying something about integration being successful. I wonder if this wasn't a case of Cerberus turning ordinary people into those monstrous things we saw on Mars. Message from Kaidan said he wanted to have dinner at Apollo's Cafe on the Citadel. I, uh, thought that was something important. I know there's a war on but having someone in my life - someone reliable and dependable who always be at my side - that wasn't something I could pass up. I mean, if that's what was on his mind. It was. And just like that, we were back together. It'd been a long time since we were able to spend time together. I'd missed him. Had his picture on my desk the whole time I was with Cerberus. Now it was real. With that out of the way a lot of tension went away. Felt like I could finally focus. Whatever happened, I knew I had someone to love and love me in return.

As if the geth ship isn't creepy enough, the cameras follow you too!
(would post a pic but Imgur isn't loading so can't upload it ) Overlord! David can't help it. BTW, I'm having the same issue with Imgur. I can "post" images (once every hour...) but uploading them doesn't work. There's also Postimages. I don't prefer it but it works when needed. EDIT: I reported the problem earlier today. Checked just now and it seems to be working.
The page with all my images doesn't even load so I can't do anything.

Owen Shepard: Since I'm on the Citadel, I take care of some loose ends. Jack wanted to see me at Purgatory. (Such a strange name; you'd think she'd associate it with the place that had imprisoned her.) She complained about duty rosters but was actually happy to be helping the biotic kids. Then we went dancing. Saw Cortez by the bar. We had a drink. Seemed like he might finally be moving on. Joker was also nearby having a drink. He wanted some advice about EDI. I was like, why the hell not? He might be dead tomorrow. Wring whatever happiness you can get out of life. Chatted with Miranda from a Spectre terminal. She was being seriously hunted by Cerberus and had also learned her father was working with them and had taken Oriana. She still didn't want help though I wasn't exactly sure I had the time. My queue of Very Important Things I needed to take care of was getting longer and longer. James was getting an N7 tattoo on his back. This, after asking me not to tell anyone about his N7 commendation. He's getting a little ahead of himself, though, since he still hasn't been through N7 training and most wash out. Tracked down some hacked terminals. Looked like batarian codes were being used to cause some disasters: turning of life support for humans, causing a human ship to have an "accident" killing over one hundred people. Behind it was Balak, who I didn't kill when he sent an asteroid hurtling toward Terra Nova. It was either kill him or let civilians die. That led to the batarians investigating the Leviathan of Dis and in turn a lot of indoctrination and betrayal. That doesn't even account for the destruction of the Bahak System. It left Balak the highest ranking member of the Batarian Hegemony. I convinced him not only to stop what he was doing but to also help out. He gave the last of the batarian ships to fight the Reapers. Garrus wanted to hang out for a bit. That meant going to the top of the Presidium and shooting discs. I was game for it. He wanted to prove he was the best shooter in the galaxy. I missed the last one on purpose. The things you do for friendship...and morale. Besides, it wasn't going to hurt my rep. Went to Lessus to investigate a colony the asari had lost contact with, and that's after sending a few commando squads. Not sure why they think I can handle something they can't. On the shuttle ride down, Liara revealed it was an Ardat-Yakshi monastery for those who choice not to go on rampages across the galaxy. Hmm...Samara said there were only three, all her daughters. Unless she's got a hell of a lot more daughters than she said, she was wrong or lying. Maybe she didn't want me to know just how dangerous pure blood asari could be. Liara was pure blood but fortunately didn't turn into one of those creatures. Once we entered the monastery, which was dark at the entrance, we heard a piercing cry, like a banshee from legend. We found the captain of the commandos dead and the location of a bomb in the Great Hall. First living person I came across was Samara, who had just taken care of a cannibal (which I now knew was a batarian husk). Her other daughters lived here and she said they were her responsibility. Sounded grim to me but I was going to help her find them regardless. Then we came across one asari on the run but Samara intervened. This was Falere, Samara's youngest daughter. She revealed that her sister Rila had been taken by the Reapers to turn them into husks, known appropriately as banshees. Inside the Great Hall, Samara and Falere were looking after a zonked out asari, who turned out to be Rila. The process of transformation into a banshee had already begun but she still appeared normal. Rila attacked Falere briefly but stopped when pushed away. We had also found the bomb but no detonator. Rila had it. She knew it was too late for her and intended to sacrifice herself and take a lot of banshees with her. Her final moment was heroic. Outside, things got difficult. An Ardat-Yakshi was not permitted to live outside the monastery. However, she was unwilling to kill her last daughter and so was about to shoot herself in the head. I stopped her. Wasn't about to lose another friend if I didn't have to. Falere then said she could have left at any time but had chosen to stay and would do so now. If the Reapers returned she wouldn't let them take her alive. Samara accepted that and promised to return after the war if she still lived. I did lie to the asari councilor and say that no Ardat-Yakshi survived. Didn't want to risk Falere being killed for something beyond her control. Surprisingly, the councilor felt sorry for what had happened. Turns out, though the Ardat-Yakshi were a source of shame for the asari, most felt sympathetic for the ones who chose peace. It wasn't something they could control and blaming them for it wasn't an option. Made me feel a little less antagonist toward their race. Samara also agreed to help. Too bad she couldn't rejoin the Normandy. She was one of the most powerful and steadfast asari I'd ever encountered. You just felt a little bit safer with her next to you. I think Cortez when down a little in my mind when he said he preferred the Hammerhead to the Mako. Hated that damn hovercraft made out of contact paper. Though it did have decent weapons and self-repaired well...though in cold weather the engines were always in danger of dying. Not much good on, for example, Noveria.

Owen Shepard: Tracking down some ex-Cerberus scientists. They seem to have realized that, yes, Cerberus is fucking evil and defected. It only took a number of their fellow scientists "disappearing" for it to sink in. The terrorism didn't do the trick. Anyway, Traynor said they might be useful working on the Crucible. That meant landing on Gellix. When we got there, Cerberus troops were engaging the scientists in battle. I could only imagine how one-sided that fight had to be. After fighting through some troops I found exactly one survivor: Jacob Taylor. Even after everything we went through together this idiot is still hanging with Cerberus people. Then again, it was Miranda who gave TIM notice, not Jacob. I just thought he was smarter than that. He was wounded and I helped him inside. Sure, I was seeing ex-Cerberus scientists but still couldn't help feeling like Jacob was with them at the time the defected. How else would he know about them? I talked to Dr. Brynn Cole. She said she and the other scientists were working on different pieces of the Collector Base. Dammit, I thought I blew that place to hell! There was a gigantic explosion. Not possible it still existed afterword. Anyway, whenever a scientist completed work on a piece, that person disappeared. That made them scared. Whatever Jacob was up to he was still being stupid. He'd been shot but said he'd "walk it off". It's not like being kicked in the nuts. This is a serious injury. I had to convince him to get checked out and not go up on the room to find out what was wrong with their network. Then I ran into that asshole, Gavin Archer. He'd heard Grissom was in trouble and was worried. NOW he worries, not when it mattered when he had his autistic brother unwillingly wired up to a geth network, metal tubes down his throat, eyes forced to stay open and only concerned with how "valuable" he was. This asshole didn't deserve to know anything. What I knew about David is that he didn't ask about Gavin and that he was counting the number of days he'd been alive since I rescued him. No way did was this guy getting peace. Admittedly, I didn't know he'd blow his brains out over it but I don't think it's a loss for the galaxy. I didn't feel guilty about it. Scum like him didn't deserve any better. I have to admit, I was impressed with Dr. Cole. She was a leader, not because she was smartest or strongest but because she could hold together when everyone else was falling apart. Then I learned that there were families there - spouse and children who'd never had anything to do with Cerberus. That changed things. It was no longer just about getting some useful scientists but about saving innocent lives. That had to be my priority. I did understand why there were there. TIM would easily target them and decent people couldn't imagine exactly what true evil looked like. But I knew. I'd known since my first encounter with Cerberus three years ago. That's why I'd been made an undercover Spectre to dismantle the organization. I failed but still managed to stop the Collectors. Too bad TIM was so paranoid that he'd never meet in person. If he'd done so I'd have put a bullet in his head. Jacob didn't understand me. He wanted to be with Brynn, which I got. He thought the Normandy was my real love. Never understood that once Kaidan I had first gotten together than there was no one else. He's my first love and I hope to whatever gods are out there that I get to live a long life with him. Even if we don't survive, I want him by my side until the end. We went topside and raised to satellite dish. Then we reset the AA guns to serve to cover the shuttles that were going to be sent out. Had to make sure those families got out alive. I looked at Kaidan, trying to imagine having that with him. Too far away to let my thoughts spend to much time on it. Had to focus on now. I had told Dr. Cole no one else was going to die and I kept my word. All civilian shuttles escaped with the last one for Dr. Cole, my squad and Jacob. I did tell Brynn in no uncertain terms that she would be helping in the fight against the Reapers. Couldn't convince Jacob to come with me. He wanted to protect those families. Guess he was going to hand out on the Crucible. Back on the Normandy, Kaidan wanted to see me. He started with a flirt but had more serious things to talk about. He was trying to wrap his head around the idea that not everyone in Cerberus was evil. I knew that, of course, because my crew was full of decent people and I did my damnedest to rescue every one of them who'd been taken by the Collectors. Hell, I'd gained the loyalty of Miranda - who hadn't even trusted me at the start - and Jacob. Getting them to defect was a hell of a coup. Still, Kaidan wondered if TIM had ever been good. I knew TIM had wanted humanity to dominate the galaxy and was willing to do what it took to make it happen, even some despicable things. But what he was doing now? It was so far off from anything good, gunning even humans down in the streets and on the Citadel, that I couldn't comprehend him anymore. I got that he was a selfish bastard but he'd made the leap to complete evil. That seemed to set Kaidan's mind at ease, help him understand why I'd been willing to work with Cerberus. That did mean coming clean about he wasn't exactly the second human Spectre but actually the third. He kind of rolled his eyes at the revelation but also wasn't surprised. Walked into Liara's room. Glyph was telling her that the colony of Tyvor was dead. It wasn't at the hands of the Reapers but self-inflicted so that they'd never be indoctrinated or turned into husks. What kind of galaxy did we live in where death was the better option? I get it, though. I'd rather be dead than a servant of the Reapers. Some volus ambassador had gotten mixed up with Cerberus, partially because they'd helped stop the Collectors. When he tried to sever ties they blackmailed him and convinced the turians that he'd betrayed them. A receiver I'd found told me he'd been taken by bounty hunters, one of whom was Zaeed Massani. I contacted the volus and got him to tell me his location and to call out Zaeed by name. I was hoping Zaeed would put things together. When I found them, the bounty hunters were unconscious on the floor and Zaeed was standing against a window. He'd played a hunch that paid off. Korlack had given Cerberus intel on turian defenses. Korlack was afraid if he told me that Cerberus would know he'd turned traitor. Instead, he offered me the volus bombing fleet. I wanted both. I got it. Then Korlack turned himself in to C-Sec. Also met with Miranda. She wanted access to Alliance channels. Funny to say that these days I trusted her without reservation. Then she wanted to confess how she'd wanted to put a control chip in my head but TIM had stopped her. She'd already told me this when we first met because she doubted I'd stay loyal to Cerberus otherwise. I had to admit that if I'd have a choice of squadmates from my time with Cerberus, Miranda would have been one of them. The other would be Samara. Tali and Garrus are a given. Had to deliver bad news to two asari. One was for the bondmate of the asari commando on Lessus, giving her an audio of her final words. The other was to Ereba with the last words of her krogan husband, Charr. I'd helped her make the decision to stay with him on Illium. Still, it was best that they'd had the time together even if not for long. Now it was time to take on a mission I really didn't want to do. Aria wanted my help taking back Omega. I suppose I owed her for getting those mercs on my side. Besides, I didn't want TIM to have an asset like Omega. [FYI, this is my least favorite DLC in the entire trilogy. But I want the war assets.]

I have heard so many negative things about soldier, but honestly, this class is super fun. I heard so many people say its boring or things like, why play as just some guy that can shoot stuff when you can move stuff with your mind. But I don't get the hate? Soldier has awesome powers, his DPS is insane, and he can blow through things so easily. I love the Mattock and Geth Plasma Shotgun on the soldier. This is probably the easiest insanity I have played next to Sentinel. I just got Tali and I plan to romance her on this run. Different people like different things. Soldier can be one-note (spam Adrenaline Rush), but it can be a little more fun if you actually try to use all your weapons. (Or use just the Claymore.) Soldier with Mattock is completely broken.

Soldier/Earthborn/War Hero/Sole Survivor was my original canon run. Since then, I've come to enjoy Vanguard, as I think it better suits Shepard. Traynor's joke about what's the difference between a krogan and Shepard? One's an unstoppable juggernaut of destruction and the other has four testicles. Given that, Vanguard "feels" right to me.

Owen Shepard: Met with Aria's fleet so we could head out to Omega. General Oleg Petrovsky was head of the Cerberus forces. He tried to tell me that leaving Cerberus was "sabotaging myself". More like saving myself from turning into a goddamn husk. In any case, his defenses were up and left us with no choice but to ram our way in. Just met up with Nyreen. Unfortunately, no time to play.

Sure it can be. But I use concussive shot and inferno grenade with AR and its a very versatile class that has different ways of playing it. I feel like a much better version of Zaeed. And its nice to be a DPS character for a change too. But I think soldier on the whole is really broken. Even on Insanity.

As if the geth ship isn't creepy enough, the cameras follow you too!
(would post a pic but Imgur isn't loading so can't upload it ) LOL first thing I do is shoot the cameras!!!!
Imgur fixed the issue I was having. Apparently it only affected Internet Explorer browser. So, my pics are now back and viewable again
Here's a pick of one of the cameras. They would turn my way as I got closer.
Not quite as spooky as that damn wolf statue in Trespasser but still creepy!

Owen Shepard: I really should get some sleep but I want to get Omega out of the way. After fighting through some Cerberus troops, Aria wanted to know why Nyreen was around. They'd apparently once been on good terms but the Nyreen supposedly left Omega. In actuality, she remained but hidden. I had to convince Aria to let Nyreen work with us but it was clear the asari held no trust for the turian.

So yesterday William spent nearly all his time on The citadel or The Normandy. First up was to organise some better medical supplies in a swap between Dr. Chakwas and a Turian named Tactus. On the way noticed a female C-Sec guard that either needed to wash her face or have a shave Next helped Jordan Knowles solve some irregular access using old Batarian codes and came acroo my old friend Ballak who decided he needed to kill me!!!!! Managed to talk him down and got his fleets as a bonus Please blink Jordan you are freaking me out!!!! Then met up with a Batarian terrorist to whom William gave a merciful death by switching off his life support. William then helped a Salarian journalist by taking some video for him to show the plight of the refugees Comforted Steve at the memorial Met this guy who apparently wanted to rejoin William on The Normandy Told EDI she needed to determine her own goals and future Stopped and admired the fish before getting beaten by Traynor at chess and interviewing Allers and telling James he should do the N7 training. In sorting out Din Korlack and his traitorus ways bumped into this bloke:

Owen Shepard: Fought through Omega, nearly getting killed many times. Nyreen sacrificed herself to stop adjutants and save civilians. This pissed Aria off more than I would have expected. After we beat down Cerberus forces, Petrovsky surrendered. After choking Petrovsky, Aria let him go, deciding that the Alliance could decide his fate. I decided for the Alliance. Anyone who could take civilians, turn them into monsters and sic them on civilians is someone I didn't want around. I'd sacrifice whatever intel and shot him in the head. Aria provided us with troops, ships and eezo from Omega. She knew that without all the resources we could muster that the galaxy would fall. Then she surprised me by saying she would cast the Cerberus troops out and mourn then dead, and that her primary purpose was now securing Omega. I remember back when I first met her she said "I am Omega". This time it was a little different. She acknowledged Nyreen's sacrifice and said "We are Omega". Minor in terminology but tremendous in what it meant. Went to the Dholen system to a quarian envoy ship. Ever since Tali's trial I'd been...hesitant about dealing with quarians (with a few exceptions, Tali and Kal'Reegar). But I didn't have a choice. Their help was essential given their enormous fleet. Of course, it was a disaster. During the middle of a fucking war for the entire galaxy these idiots decided to try to reclaim their homeworld from the geth. What is wrong with these people? They had been winning but then a Reaper signal was broadcast that significantly upgraded the geth. The only geth around now were the ones who opposed the Reapers. Thanks to the quarians, those geth had reconsidered in order to survive. I was going to have to go to the source of the signal - a geth dreadnought - to disable the signal. One thing did lighten my disdain for the quarians: they'd made Tali an admiral. She said it was because she was an expert on the geth (I'd said as much at her trial) but it also had to be because she was worthy. I know Tali wouldn't have agreed to start this war but it always came down to the most votes. I noticed that the name they'd given her for the trial - Tali'Zorah vas Normandy - was still being used by her as a badge of honor. It was like shoving it in their faces how stupid they'd been. That's my girl! On board the geth dreadnought we could see that the Reaper signal completely overrode the geth, taking control over them. I guess this was the equivalent of indoctrination. We fought until we made it to the drive core. Saw Reaper tech there and something encased inside. I opened it at there was Legion. He was being used to broadcast the signal. Given how he was restrained - in a way that reminded me of David Archer - I could guess that he wasn't doing so willingly. Kaidan worried that he'd been reprogrammed. But like me, Tali trusted him. Legion had even turned Tali's mind around in regard to attacking the geth. Legion did say that after the quarians attacked that the Reapers extended an invitation to them which was accepted after some debate. Tali both blamed the geth and her own people leading to this happening. Once freed, Legion disabled the drive core, including all weapons and barriers. This would allow the quarian fleets to escape. Of course, they didn't decided instead to attack. Raan was moving to evacuate but Gerrel was the one who ordered the attack. He didn't seem to care the me, Tali and Kaidan were aboard. I honestly don't know if we'd have escaped without Legion's help. The longer this war went on the pissier I was getting about the stupidity of others. Gerrel brushed off any assumption of wrongdoing, even though he endangered his own fleet. Raan was also pissed, wanting to charge him with treason. He tried to say I would have understood what he had done. Instead, he got a punch and the gut and was thrown off my ship. It was ridiculous when Xen wanted to disable Legion for study, even after I said he was my friend. I made it clear she should not continue this line of discussion. I was more than willing to remove her as well.

Haven't played for the last 3 days due to RL interference. Ugh. Today, since I'm feeling under the weather, I only did Jack's loyalty mission.
Had to reload a couple times because first, I brought Thane with me, but forgot about the damp weather there, so restarted the mission and brought Grunt instead. Grunt had no dialogue in the shuttle trip down. Second reload was at the end, when deciding whether Jack should shoot Aresh or not. I had decided not since, unlike Miranda's or Garrus' mission, Aresh did not betray the person doing the shooting. So, being renegade, I didn't have enough P points to convince Jack not to shoot and missed the P interrupt I got later, so she went all Leliana on me and disobeyed a direct order. So, I had to reload to take the interrupt.
Then I wussed out and renegade-settled the argument between Jack and Miranda. Was going to side with Jack to lose Miranda's loyalty but I guess I'll leave that for next time.
Currently parked next to the derelict Reaper. I imagine the whole crew will have interesting dreams tonight.
Now off to my comfy chair to read snooze until bed time.

Even if I did have him, I don't think the weather situation would have occurred to me. But it should since Shepard would be aware of it and EDI would probably make a comment about it.

Owen Shepard: Next up was rescuing Admiral Koris. He had opposed the invasion but his part here was to defend civilians. Only he had come under attack and his ship was down. I seem to recall this was the guy who levied the charges against Tali a year ago. The deciding factor in rescuing him is that the civilian fleet was planning to leave the Migrant Fleet. That would make them vulnerable targets. Regardless of how much I think half of the admirals deserve to be shot that's not the fault of the civilians. They want to flee the madness but it's not worth dying for. Xen continues to be a selfish prick to the end. I tell her to keep the civilian fleet safe and she said she would make no promises. If we both survive this war there's going to hell to pay. Whoever's in charge needs to give a shit about their people and Xen doesn't rank among them. Our shuttle was shot at but Cortez managed to avoid us taking fire. He really was a hell of a pilot. He's as good with this shuttle as Joker is with the Normandy. The ground, though, was amazing. Rannoch was pristine. The geth hadn't overrun it with technology. Exactly the opposite. They allowed it to return to its natural state. It was one of the most beautiful places I'd ever seen. Hoped the quarians didn't fuck it up. Kaidan reminded me of the time when the Council declared the last major outpost to be gone. Yet here we were, seeing more geth than ever. Of course, they "breed" like crazy. The Alarei were evidence of that since a few awakened geth turned into a full blown infestation. Found what was called a geth spitfire. I seemed designed to destroy synthetics and was found on geth battlefields. There were theories that the schism between the geth led to its creation to destroy their opponents. It really does a great job of killing geth. Would be nice if we had a giant one of these to use against the Reapers. Ran across a barely living quarian named Dorn'Hazt. He had sent a distress signal but we'd never received it. The geth were jamming our signals. I wanted to help him with medi-gel but he'd lost too much blood. He wouldn't survive. I thought maybe he was a soldier but it turned out he was maintenance. Never even held a gun until he was forced into this war. He tried to buy time for the other quarians by distracting the geth. Now it was going to kill him. He told us to destroy the geth jamming tower and pleaded with me to save General Koris. The civilian fleet had never wanted the war and Koris was the only one who might be able to save them. His last words were to tell his son Jona that he'd made it to the homeworld. I thought back to the Alarei. There was a message from a quarian woman for her son, Jona, telling him that mommy loves him - just before the geth killed her. He's an orphan now, like me. Faith and I had no one. I hope someone can take him in. Once the barrier around the jammer was down, Cortez brought in the shuttle and destroyed it. First thing we heard was Koris calling for Dorn. When I told him that Dorn was dead you could really hear the anguish in his voice. Despite what he'd tried to do with Tali I could see this was a man who really cared about the fate of his people. I did have to convince him that we needed to save him rather than his crew because without him the entire civilian fleet would end up being destroyed. In the end, he understood why he was needed. He convinced the civilian fleet not to leave and placed them in defensive positions. We had to take out the Reaper signal but Legion found himself conflicted. He showed us an image of a single geth program, the of ten geth networked and finally of the upgraded geth. He found it to be beautiful, indicative of life. Raan only saw a fully evolved AI but I was with Legion on this one. What we were seeing was life. Raan tried to use the Reaper alliance but Legion pointed out it was to save themselves from the quarians in a war they were losing. These were, after all, the geth who had previously been opposed to working with the the Reapers. They had not ever participated in war against the quarians and hadn't wanted one now. I wonder, had the quarians not attacked, if the geth would have joined us against the Reapers. A geth fighter squadron was tearing the migrant fleet apart. According to Legion, the only way to remove programs from the geth consensus was to virtually interface with it. An organic mind would be an unknown and I'd have a better chance of succeeding than Legion. I didn't like it but was willing to do whatever was necessary. Kaidan definitely didn't like it but agreed to stand by and watch over me. After Legion networked me to the geth consensus - explaining he'd made an environment that was familiar - I saw something entirely unfamiliar to me. There was Reaper code all over the consensus. Even Legion hadn't realized how extensive it was. He gave me a virtual gun that could destroy that coding. I should note that this was only the geth connected to the fighter squadrons but it was still the equivalent of wiping out a city. I was seeing data from the past, the early days of the geth. I learned that the word "geth" meant "servant of the people". No wonder many of the quarians saw them as little more than tools. To them, the geth were servants, not thinking beings. Another log from 290 years ago had one of the geth refusing to shut down but not understanding what was wrong or how it had failed. One more log showed the quarians destroying geth. An agricultural unit picked up a weapon and fired back to protect lesser geth. Another log showed that now all quarians wanted the geth destroyed. Those who opposed were jailed. One geth attempted to surrender to avoid harm to a quarian helping him. The quarian was killed for it. The final log showed the quarians retreating toward the mass relay. The geth did not pursue. They were no longer threatened and were uncertain of the repercussions of destroying the quarians. That was significant and something the quarians don't acknowledge. Legion believed that peace could be attained between the geth and other organics, primarily because I had reactivated him and made him an ally. When I exited the consensus I learned that most of the fighter squadrons were inert and no programs were detected inside. Those few remaining retreated. That's when a whole lot of geth primes appeared. Legion said that while I was destroying the Reaper code he was able to convince the programs to join with him. They renounced the Reapers and wished to help. As Legion put it: "They are now Us."

I'm trying to finish writing/catch up on Barbara "Barbie" Shepard's adventures from two weeks ago. Once that is done and posted here, I can then lift my self-imposed playing ban and continue with here journey. I lack the motivation to write, and what I am writing is sucking pretty bad. Hopefully I will have something decent later to post.

Owen Shepard: At this point I was committed to putting a stop to the Reaper signal on Rannoch. I didn't want to be here. I had other places to be but the fact was that this mission would free up both the quarians and the geth - or potentially wipe one of them out of existence. Legion did end up saying he still had remnants of Reaper code in him that would allow him to break through any type of security. It was clear that he was ashamed. Fighting through geth out in the open was interesting. They didn't know how to handle biotics. Biotic charge and Nova were beyond them and ripped them to shreds. We were able to fight to the lot of them and make our way to where we needed to be. From here, I'd use a targeting laser for the Normandy to sync with, allowing a precision strike on the base containing the Reaper code. Or so we thought. The "base" was an actual Reaper. We fled but that thing on our tails but Gerrel fired on it, knocking it down. They'd hit the firing chamber, which was a weak point, but not enough to kill it. Where's a giant thresher maw when you need it? I decided we needed to end this or else the quarians were ended. I jumped out and picked up the syncing laser, linking the entire fleet to the Normandy. This thing was going down. After a few shots the Reaper went down. As it was dying, I asked it some questions. It said organics had to be "harvested" to save us because a war between organics and synthetics was inevitable and organics would always lose. It used the geth/quarian war to prove its theory. Still, I wasn't buying it. I knew the war didn't have to happen. Unfortunately, that warmongering asshole Gerrel planned to attack the weakened geth. Legion said he could upload the Reaper code - without being controlled by the Reapers - to make each unit an individual. Tali was scared because she knew the geth would overpower the quarians. I talked to Gerrel, gave one of my speeches, told them that the geth were about to return to full strength and destroy the entire fleet. Somehow I got through to him and he stood down. Then Legion realized he could not directly upload the Reaper code and had to "disseminate his personality". Then his personality". Tali acknowledged the question he had asked her before, the one that started the Morning War: "Does this unit have a soul?" She answered that he did. Legion said he knew, thanked her and then his unit went inert. Raan showed up, injured from a crash, unsure what was going to happen to them. Then a geth prime showed up. It said the quarians were welcome to return to Rannoch and asked where they might want to settle. For the first time in three centuries, the quarians had a home and were not at war with the geth. Geth and quarians alike offered their support in retaking Earth. I assumed Tali would want to stay to help but she had other ideas. She wanted to join me on the Normandy. It wasn't what I was trying to get her to do but I was glad to have her back. Still, she said that the Reapers were eventually coming to Rannoch no matter what. She wanted with me, "if I thought she could help". Hah. As if I'd ever turn down Tali. She had a new name now. When I met her, she was "Tali'Zorah nar Rayya", then "Tali'Zorah vas Neema" after her Pilgrimage was complete. After she was charged with treason she was named "Tali'Zorah vas Normandy" which she wore as a badge of honor, even after being exonerated. Finally, having a homeworld again, she was "Tali'Zorah vas Rannoch". As with all things, more was wanted of me. The asari councilor said she had information that could help. Nice of her to withhold it until now. Tali said reports from Rannoch showed the geth were helping to build settlements, setting up power stations and even, in some cases, uploading to quarian suits to help jumpstart their immune systems. All these centuries of fighting and the geth disregard it so easily. This is definitely a beneficial situation for both races.

Barbara "Barbie" Shepard... from two weeks ago...
Concierge: Welcome to Nos Astra, Commander Shepard. I've been ordered to wave all docking fees on your behalf.
Barbie: Great! Who gave the order?
Concierge: Liara T'Sonie.
Barbie: She's here? OMG I can't wait to see her! (runs to find Liara)
Nyxeris: It's all going according to plan. Liara leaves with Liara, and then I take over her criminal empire! Mwuhahaha!
Liara: (to customer) I'll make this simple. Either you pay me, or I'll flay you alive... with my mind!
Barbie: (bursting into the office) Surpise!
Liara: (to customer) Or if you prefer, I hand you over to her for a few minutes.
Customer: You'll have your money, just keep her away from me! (logs off)
Barbie: Who was that?
Liara: Just another victim... I mean, customer.
Barbie: Great! Want to come with me?
Liara: You know I'd *love* to, but I'm really rather busy here with my job. Businesses to shake down, people to intimidate, legs to break,... you know how it goes.
Barbie: I can help with that!
Liara: Um, no, I got it. Instead, why don't you go hack some terminals for me since I am really busy at the moment?
Barbie: Okay! (runs off)
Liara: Okay, that should get her out of my way for a few hours or so.
Barbie: (running back in) I did it!
Liara: That was fast.
Barbie: Nyxeris helped!
Liara: You bitch! (shoots Nyxeris)
Barbie: Now can you come with me?
Liara: No! Look, if I just give you the location of the Justicar and assassin you are looking for, will you leave me alone?
Barbie: Okay!
Liara: Here you go. Now please get out of my office!
Barbie: Ha, just kidding! Here's the location of The Shadow Broker! I'll meet you at your apartment later.

Miranda: What are the Geth doing to this weather? The fog is so thick I can barely see.
Garrus: Better question: why are they changing the weather?
Barbie: Even better question: why aren't they making it warm and sunny? I could use a tan. Or maybe snow, so I can go skiing!
Garrus: Or flood it so we can all drown and escape this living nightmare.
Barbie: Yeah, flood! Then we can go waterskiing!
Garrus: I hate you.

Miranda: What was the Blood Pack doing here?
Mordin: Munitions facility. Making weapons. Planning attack, perhaps?
Barbie: Less talking, more shooting! I want a see a big fireball for my birthday!
Miranda: It's your birthday?
Barbie: No, but I like giving myself presents.

Barbara "Barbie" Shepard... from two weeks ago...
Barbie: Hey Miranda, get a salvage team ready!
Miranda: Why? What did you find?
Barbie: The Normandy SR-1's Mako! It's still intact! We have to chip it out of the ice first, but it still
looks good to go!
Miranda: Barbie, we already have the Hammerhead. We don't need the Mako.
Barbie: But I like the Mako better!
Garrus: The original Normandy's Mako is outdated now. Besides, you drive the Hammerhead better.
Barbie: That's not true!
Garrus: You once flipped the Mako onto its back.
Barbie: That's because we fell off a mountain.
Garrus: You were parked on the ground.
Barbie: I wanted to see if I could do a backflip.
Miranda: We don't have room for the Mako!
Barbie: We will if we throw out the Hammerhead.
Miranda: We're not throwing out the Hammerhead!
* * *
Hammerhead VI: Warning! Temperature dropping to unsafe levels.
Barbie: What? I thought this thing was rated for extreme temperatures. The Mako never had this problem!
Zaeed: I think Garrus was calibrating it before we left?
Grunt: I need to go pee.
Barbie: I thought I told you to go before we left!
Grunt: I did!
Miranda back on the Normandy: (walking into her office, then running out) Rupert! Clean up! Now!
* * *
Barbie: Okay, we just need to collect all the artifacts, and not get killed by these Geth!
Zaeed: Firing! (missiles veer off away from the Geth) Goddammit! Garrus you piece of shit, why can't you calibrate this thing correctly?
Garrus: Math is hard.
* * *
EDI: You must stop the ship from crashing into the planet!
Barbie: By flying it into the sun!
Garrus: What the hell is wrong with you?
Barbie: I need the adrenaline rush.
I am finally caught up. I can continue Barbie's journey.

Its amazing with any form of writing how hard it can be some days, but having read your later posts after this one it wasn't lame at all. So well done on pushing through the writers block

Okay learned ME3 people I am trying to figure out where I am with Miranda's arc in ME3.
I realised yesterday that I had stuffed up Priority Rannoch (forgot the Communications Hub) and had to go back to an earlier save. It was a bad time to stuff up because I had rushed around frantically doing lots of little things on The Citadel and so my memory of what I had and hadn't done was a bit scrambled.
Anyway, I know I had had the final chat with Miranda on The Presidium Commons where she again confesses she wanted to insert a control chip into you. So I went back there but the door was inactive, so I had either done it or gone back to a save before I had got the message to do it as there is nothing in the journal. Went back to The Spectres Terminal that you can talk to Miranda on and the message was available.
This surprised me as I was pretty sure I hadn't gone back that far. Has anyone been able to get the Miranda message at the spectre terminal more than once? I am really hoping I haven't somehow stuffed that arc up and having had the conversation that I'll get a message soon to see her the third time and that all is ok.
