Mass Effect Trilogy, Jade Empire

So after a few weeks of not playing the trilogy at all (it was painful), I finally had some time to play it this weekend... where I ignored it all of Saturday, then played only for an hour on Sunday before both controllers died. (I think one controller may be permanently dead.)
Of course, the worst thing to do after not playing for 2/3 weeks is to play the Disabled Collector Ship, because the incoming platforms section is *really great* for getting your gameplay groove back on. Oh, and i was also recording which of course meant I was trying to make everything look cool (it probably didn't). Deaths galore. I played it twice because I wanted to see how I performed using different guns.
So I didn't get much done on the weekend. But anyway, Barbara "Barbie" Shepard...
Illusive Man: Shepard, we caught a break. We intercepted a distress call from the Turians. They managed to disable a Collector Ship. Go check it out.
Barbie: Sweet! Do you want me to bring you back a souvenir?
Illusive Man: Just bring me back as much data as you can?
Barbie: Just data? You sure you don't want a hat? Or a t-shirt? Maybe a plushie?
Illusive Man: Just data.
Barbie: Ice cream? Chocolate bar?
Illusive Man: Please, just bring me back as much data as you can.
Barbie: Postcard?
Illusive Man: I'm hanging up now.
* * *
Jacob: (looking at a pile of dead bodies) We are nothing to them. Just test subjects for the Collectors... Barbie, what you doing?
Barbie: (rummanging through the pile of dead bodies) I dropped my watch.
* * *
Barbie: (holding the Revenant) Hey check it out! I got a new bullet sprinkler!
Jacob: That's a machine gun, Barbie.
Barbie: Bullet! Sprinkler!
* * *
EDI: Shepard, it was not a malfunction. It was a trap.
Barbie: And they stepped right into it!
Jacob: Barbie, we're the ones in the trap.
Barbie: Are we? (hefts Revenant) Or are they in here with me?
Miranda: This is going to be a bloodbath, isn't it?
Barbie: Time to try this baby out! Bring on the hordes!
Later...
EDI: Shepard, you must manually reestablish my link to the command console.
Barbie: No.
EDI: I beg your pardon?
Barbie: Send me more bugs!
EDI: Shepard, please reestablish my link to the command console.
Barbie: If I do, will you send me more bugs?
Miranda: Shepard, we need to get out of here before they power up the ship and leave!
Barbie: SEND ME MORE BUGS!
* * *
Kelly: I noticed you have a fish tank. If you want, I'll feed your fish when you're away on missions.
Barbie: Great! Now I just have to go buy some fish!
Kelly: Wait. You don't have any fish?
Barbie: No. I never did.
Kelly: Then what was I eating out of there for the past few weeks?
Grunt: That's a fish tank? I thought it was a toilet.
Kelly: Oh dear god...
* * *
So the whole reason I started Barbie Shepard was to use the Revanent in ME2 on Insanity. I took it on my first playthrough which was on Normal, and I remember being disappointed in it, thinking I enjoyed the Vindicator better. I never took it again on other Soldier playthroughs. So I took it this time to give it a proper chance to impress me. The Disbled Collector Ship is probably not the best place to try it out. I will probably play Thane's recruitment mission twice (to get the Viper) to see how it stacks up against the Vindicator on a better mission.

So finished ME3 yesterday after a hiccup at the end. Had already I was going to choose the green space magic this time around but was not paying attention at the end as I was talking to my son and accidentally shot the space brat Well at least I got to see an ending I hadn't seen before Then it was backtrack to an earlier save. Actually I noticed doing the end again the game does lots of saves as you progress but the the only save I could access took me back to entering the beam!!!! Weird or possibly I am stupid!!!! So I really enjoyed the whole game except for hitting a flat patch doing Omega. I had forgotten just how good it is story wise despite the silly endings, what I wouldn't pay for an ending where Shepard lives and retires with Garrus somewhere tropical!!!!! Essentially as a recap of yesterday I did the Take Back Earth storyline and that was it, not feeling up to a full recount but William played hard and died hard. Few pic's: The Old Man on The Bridge Lets get this started Time to kill me a Reaper Beam Run Thank god he finally stopped talking Time to turn everyone Green I never got why wwe get this reveal of a Quarian but not of Tali!!!! The End

I like The Revenant in MEA but in ME2 and 3 it doesn't fire tight enough for me, just tends to spray bullets all over the place. I ended up just using The Avenger for almost the whole of ME3 until I got the M99-Saber.

Yeah me either, as I said it was a completely random action I joked to my son about doing it and the finger reflexively twitched!!!!! It was a good shot to as he was quite a bit away from me. He gets quite cranky at you and in an angry voice says something like: "So be it"

I did this: I had to restart the mission just as I started it because I forgot to re-equip my guns after the VR session so all I had was a level 1 Predator. I'm sure all my guns were showing in the screen as equipped, which is why I forgot.
Only had to dance with the Reaper one time (yay for Normal difficulty) then yelled at Gerrel to stop shooting or die.
Scanned some more systems, including Peebee's home planet, Hyetiana.
Next up is the Cyone reactor, before heading back to the Citadel to meet with the asari councilor. Hmm, I wonder what she'll have to say.....

Owen Shepard: Headed toward Horizon. Cortez picked up an outgoing message from the planet from Oriana Lawson, Miranda's sister. It said Sanctuary wasn't what it seemed and to stay away. There was considerable damage at the LZ. All comms were jammed so no information could leave the facility. We did finally see some evidence of Cerberus and the Reapers fighting. About time Cerberus focused on the real enemy instead of repeatedly killing humans. Saw a lot of empty shuttles but no sign of people. There was a video log talking about sorting people until they could be "processed". Cerberus and processing sounded like a bad combination. As we went forward, saw dead ravagers and Cerberus troops. Good riddance to the both of them. Another video log, this one from Miranda, told us some more. This was a Cerberus facility run by her father, Henry Lawson. She said all communications were being blocked from a central tower so at least that gave us a destination. There were also signs of Reaper tech, but that didn't surprise me considering TIM's goals. Saw security footage of refugees being placed in some sort of pods. They were gassed and it looked at first like they were being killed. It was worse. They'd been turned into husks. What a betrayal to humanity this was. A PDA said that "unsuitable refugees" were to be "recycled". This seemed more like some refugees became husks while others were likely turned into the half-husk troopers like Kaidan had first discovered on Mars. Another video showed Miranda making it more difficult to get into Sanctuary, likely to protect innocents. Unfortunately, we saw Kai Leng was also present. Audio logs from Henry Lawson explained the husks. They wanted to learn how Reapers communicated with them. No excuse. Another log showed Lawson talking about co-opting the Reaper signal and being able to control husks themselves. That explained why the Reapers were attacking Cerberus. Unfortunately, also saw Kai Leng attacking Miranda. She's tough but I'm hoping she can handle herself. Fought through the facility and got to the central tower. Miranda was injured but not down. Henry Lawson had a gun to Oriana's head. I told Lawson that if he didn't let Oriana go I was going to hunt him down but maybe he'd walk if he let her go. I said maybe but he let go of her. Miranda wasn't having and of that and used a Push to said him flying to his death. Miranda had simply been tracking down her father and Oriana but once she saw what was happening she couldn't walk away. Seemed like forever ago when she didn't trust me because she didn't think I'd follow Cerberus. Now here she was doing her best to stop them. Though Kai Leng had managed to hurt her, Miranda had been able to slip a tracker on him which should lead to TIM. On board the Normandy I had a chat with EDI. She tried to understand what was going on in Reaper camps on Earth where people sacrificed themselves to save their fellows, even though everyone ultimately died. EDI started to say her only goal was self-preservation but then she stopped. That was the goal of the Reapers and she found them repulsive. She thought of Joker freeing her from a state of servitude and said she was willing to defend him to the death. At that point, she'd found something like humanity and I welcomed her to the crew. I was about to follow up on Miranda's lead until I was grounded. Not like what had been done with Faith when they didn't believe her about following Saren to Ilos and through the Conduit. No, Hackett said I was going to burn out when needed most if I didn't take some down time. He ordered me to the Citadel and gave me lodgings at Anderson's apartment. I didn't really want to do this but, then again, Anderson had told Joker to ease my tension. Maybe I did need this. Next up: Citadel DLC

Owen Shepard: As directed, I headed to Anderson's apartment. File this under: Things I Never Knew About Anderson. I doubt he could have afforded this place as an admiral. Had to be from his days as a Councilor. Got a message from Joker to meet for lunch at Ryuusei Sushi Bar. One of the swankiest places on the Citadel. I was hear because of a message from him but he said I'd sent him a message to meet there. Something was up and we figured it out pretty quickly. Mercs of a type I'd never before seen, just moments after getting a warning from Staff Analyst Maya Brooks. I sent Joker for help while fighting them off with a pistol one of them had. Got to be the best pistol I've ever used. Though I took most of them out, some managed to shoot through the fish tank floor and I dropped...far. I don't know if it was whatever Miranda did to me a couple years back or I'm just that good but I survived the fall. Brooks contacted me from a secure channel. She said she was sending a C-Sec shuttle for a pick up. Kaidan also reached out. Eventually I found him, more than holding his own against these mercs. We fought more mercs before heading to the LZ. When the shuttle opened, there were more mercs there. I just managed to push Kaidan out of the way and get to cover before Wrex dropped down on the shuttle and kicked the shit out of them, sending them on a one way trip way down below. Back at the apartment we decided to analyze that sweet pistol. Liara walked in and set Glyph to find out more. That's when more of my squad walked in, with Joker and Cortez. As Joker put it, they were people who liked to be shot at. Also, my friends, something I'd never really had before during my time in the Alliance. Liara and Brooks traced the pistol to casino owner Elijah Kahn, who was suspected of smuggling weapons onto the Citadel. There was also something Liara dug up linking Khan to these specific pistols and mentioning that he didn't like weapons he sold showing up on the news. Our way in was a party to raise money for war refugees. Khan was likely in a safe room assuming I'd be seeking revenge. I was hoping maybe he'd help us out by giving us the identity of the buyer. First we'd have to get to him and that required sneaking into his panic room. Also needed a tech but little in the way of technology. Brooks was in and my date was obviously going to be Kaidan. I think our entrance arm-in-arm gave away our relationship but I was long past caring.

I'm down to 3 active missions:
Leviathan (third segment, meet Ann in her dad's office) Thessia Citadel DLC (main mission)
I usually save going to find Leviathan until after the bad Thessia mojo, since things are most desperate and well, it's worth a shot, right? I just finished the Rannoch arc so the Normandy could definitely use some TLC. I just don't feel like doing Citadel yet. If I could break it up into segments like Leviathan, maybe, but it's an all-in-one-go type thing and I'm just not in the mood for Brooks since I find both of her personalities annoying.

Citadel DLC (main mission) This is where I am, too. Just got to Silversun Casino. After I'm done with the Citadel DLC, it's off to Cronus Station and then Earth.

Continued my PT today. When I first resumed my previous save, my Shepard had somehow turned into default femShep with a different outfit on. I reloaded an earlier save and was back to normal. Never had that happen before!
So, Citadel DLC....
Distracting Garrus
Party time
I usually bring Wrex for the fighting but brought Garrus and Kaidan this time. I think I've gotten this line from Garrus before but it's been so long that it felt new.
Go get 'em, Hammy!
Kicked the clone off the ship (When first seeing the clone wearing the N7 armor, instead of saying, "That's creepy," Shepard said, "Unacceptable," Nice P/R difference there) and shot Brooks.
Did the first few meet ups. Shepard wasn't impressed with Fleet and Flotilla, so went to make some popcorn. That's the first time I've taken that option. Watched Traynor beat the snot out of T'suza and helped Zaeed win a plushy toy. Last, did the tango with Garrus, but saved before that so will do it again next time.

I shoot her whenever she tries to escape. Thoughtless, selfish and does something that could cost the entire galaxy its existence. As for Liara, yes, she's not the "very good information broker" she claims to be. Even Wrex knew that.

Owen Shepard: Checking out the Silver Coast Casino. Liara advised blending in. I saw the asari consort here. I remember getting *ahem* a thing or two from her back in the day. She did give me some useful advice back then. Today? Her advice was "Win". Then I hear from Brooks. She's at the vent (damn familiar, like when Jacob stupidly offered to go in them on the Collector Base). Eventually, we stopped all the security cams, hacked all the alarms and made our way to Elijah Kahn's panic room. Problem was that he was dead. Someone had also deleted the terminal but not the comms, meaning we might be able to track the killer through them. We were able to call the killer, though a scrambler get "his" identity a secret. There was some trash talking on the end of the OP but it was all lame. We took the wiped drives just in case EDI could find something. I spoke with my friends while she did her thing. Finally, a breakthrough came. The discovery came that a lot of weapons and mechs had been purchased and those could be tracked. It led straight to the Citadel Archives. I needed a squad with my, though everyone was on this mission. Kaidan was with me, of course, but also Tali. I don't think I'd given her enough attention for her liking. We fought some CAT-6 mercs (which stood for category 6, which were disgraced soldiers). They weren't so rough until someone my mysterious figure held a gun to Brook's head up above. No idea how she even got up there. Once his mercs disarmed me the MF threw her down. I said not to hide but face me. The voice was female, familiar. When she jumped down I saw why. She said she was Commander Shepard and that she never hid. This was my sister, Faith, saying I wasn't the only one Cerberus had saved from death. I thought back the the Lazarus Project. I knew it was too big to be about me given I was only severely injured rather than dead. She said she'd been in a coma until six months ago and had to relearn everything she'd known. I didn't want to fight her. This was my twin sister! I suddenly knew exactly how Kaidan felt when I disappeared and suddenly showed up over a year later on Horizon and with Cerberus. I tried to tell her we didn't have to fight but she said she was picking up where she's left off and she would fly the Normandy to glory while I died. There was a lot of bitterness in her voice, feeling betrayed because her allies were with me but more so over Kaidan. When Faith had last been alive, she and Kaidan were lovers. After her death, things changed. We started something but my undercover work against Cerberus got in the way until our recent reconciliation. I suppose it might have felt quite so bad if it weren't me Kaidan was with. Faith stole my command codes for the Normandy and it looked like she was going to find her way to the ship. One thing was she kept referring to my allies as the "Cult of Shepard". They didn't follow me for nothing. I'd earned their respect over time. I ran with Tali, Garrus and Wrex while Faith was still in her anti-alien phase. Three years had passed since the destruction of the original Normandy. These people had become my friends. Faith tried to have his mercs take us out but it wasn't that easy. I grabbed a pistol on the ground and shot down the Citadel model overheard, sending it crashing into the mercs. Then we took off after Faith into the Citadel Archives. It required authorization to enter but Spectre codes handled that. If I had to guess, no one had ever deactivated Faith's codes and she was now using them to go where she pleased. I split us all into teams, with Team Mako and Team Hammerhead. When things were looking kind of bleak, I got more than a glimpse of the friendships I'd made. I got a hell of a lot of guns. The Archives held some interesting things. First human contact with turian soldiers that was not going well. Another was an attack by a vengeful krogan on the Council (which was then only asari and salarian) for not giving them planets to colonize after winning the Rachni Wars for them. Some ancient AI that looked like LOKI mechs sought to petition the Council for the right to exist. C-Sec terminated them before they got the chance to ask. Reminds me of the geth and how their attacks were simply to survive rather than to turn on their creators. Then there was the more interesting thing. A record of the Battle of the Citadel against Sovereign. Classified information was unlocked due to Kaidan and I being Spectres. It outright said that Sovereign was suspected of being a Reaper. So why all the bullshit and denial over the years? Glyph was kind of annoying, especially while trying to track down Faith. What I did like was his shit talking the mercs. Oh, I know it wasn't capable of that - intentionally - but I loved hearing him tell the mercs they should stop due to having only a 0.4% chance of winning. More history. The deployment of the genophage by a turian. The salarians were actually opposed to it despite having invented it. Similarly, some other turians called it genocide. Definitely a different take than what I'd heard before. The appointment of the first Spectre, a salarian, by the asari Councilor. Then there was an "early Earth religious artifact". Seemed like it might be the so-called "Ark of the Covenant" made between God and man. The discovery of the Citadel by the asari, which I now know was something the Reapers had planned all along. Finally, the discussion about making Faith the first human Spectre though, as it turned out, I had equally been under consideration. No wonder they made it so after taking down all the Cerberus facilities I could find. After losing contact with Mako and Hammerhead I received a message that she needed help. Curious. Something similar happened when this all began when her communication was supposed to be secure when know one else's was. Then we hit a snag where we were trapped inside of an iridium field. Faith showed herself but the reveal came when Brooks said she had never worked for the Alliance. She had also compiled the dossiers on the squad I had leading to the Collector base. Thing was, she knew that TIM was indoctrinated and disagreed that a pro-human group should work with aliens. Finally, she woke Faith, never really very pro-alien, and had her join the cause to remove me and have Faith fight the war. We were sealed in a vault. Tali thought I didn't seem to worried and she was right. Glyph was still out there and freed us. Once outside, Joker showed up with a shuttle but there was only room for me and two squadmates. Kaidan and Wrex were with me. We stormed the Normandy only to see Traynor exiting. She'd been kicked off the ship but was able to grab her very expensive toothbrush. The only way it was an emergency escape hatch designed to open outward. It would require a mass effect field to open but even with three biotics present none of us had to fine tune control to make it happen. That toothbrush was another story and that's how we got in. We traveled underneath the CIC to get inside. Took out the mercs there but then I saw the most appalling thing. Sure, my models, my books and my medals were all there for disposal but they were replaceable. My space hamster, though? That little guy survived on the Normandy for six months while I sat in a detention cell. I found him when I got back on board and put him back in the safety of my cabin. Only now Faith was getting rid of him like week old garbage. Damn her! I have to tell you fighting Faith was work. Not just because she was my sister, either. No, it was the Vanguard thing. She was my match, even though Biotic Charge hadn't even been discovered before she died. It went on for a while until Faith and I found ourselves handing off the edge of the Normandy shuttle bay. She wanted to know why I was so special. Then it became obvious. Kaidan and Wrex pulled me up. Brooks, however, looked her in the eye and backed off. No loyalty there. Despite it all, I wanted to save her. She was my sister. She had other ideas, though, and let herself fall. In some ways it was worse than the first time. Brooks tried to play on my better nature, talking like she was innocent and stupid. She actually thought I'd miss her. When she uncuffed herself and tried to run I made sure I didn't miss. FYI, surprised at the number of Renegade decisions on made in the Citadel DLC since my Shepard is mostly Paragon.

Owen Shepard: Had a bunch of messages from my squad and crew asking to see me, or so EDI said. The first on the list was Miranda. I invited her over, asked if she knew anything about Faith - especially since she worked on Lazarus Station. She said she'd only heard rumors but had crossed paths with Brooks under a different name. She also suggested that the galaxy might not survive the havoc Faith and I could inflict on it. Still, I'd rather she were alive and by my side than dead. Next up is Kaidan. He wants us to be a "normal" couple, at least for one night. Hard to say no to that. I wanted to go out but Kaidan insisted on making dinner. Despite my jabs, I was impressed. Then I decided we needed to find a way to burn off the calories, and I was in no way hinting that we should go for a jog. James had something to show me. After some chit chat he took off his shirt and turned away. On his back was a new tattoo with the "N7" designation. He might be slow to it but he said once he committed to something he became very serious about it. He also wanted me to beat his pull-up contest but, honestly, there were a lot more interesting things to do. Played a bit in the Armax Arsenal Arena since I had a complimentary pass. People sure did like watching me. Lots of messages sent my way from fans. Header over to Silver Coast Casino to buy some party supplies. Then I noticed a strange device. A few moments later Kasumi walked in with a few friends. I talked to her. She was robbing this place to help out those who couldn't make it to the Citadel. I could see the appeal and told her not to get caught. Next, Garrus wanted to meet me at the bar. When he showed up in civilian year, I noticed a female turian checking him out. I decided they needed to meet. It was a disaster. He had no idea how to make small talk and she was about to leave. Then another turian walked by with two beers in his hand and I grabbed one from him. Placing it in Garrus's hand, he suddenly felt capable and the two hit it off. That's it for now. More entertain my crew and throwing a party tomorrow!

Owen Shepard: More time with the squad and crew. Cortez wanted to meet up on the Silversun Strip. He took me for a ride in the shuttle, showing me a few tricks and the reason why he was my shuttle pilot. He's so damn good and wants to make sure I make it to the ground. In nothing else, he prevented the Normandy was leaving the Citadel with just the use of a skycar when Faith was trying to steal it. Amazing guy. Jack wanted to meet at Armax for a game. Not too surprised by she chose Cerberus as the targets. Loved every minute of it. Also, looking at the first place slot, I'd say someone was punched in the face one time too many. Er...ME3 became unusable from the the save screen. Buttons won't be pushed. Usually I can fix it by alt-tabbing to something else and back but didn't work this time. Hope I didn't lose too much by crashing it.

Yesterday I spent most of my time in Armax Arena getting my butt kicked. For some reason an all biotic squad isn't very effective against geth, especially with all the modifiers turned on. I ended up starting that one over and switching to reaper forces rather than chance random again. I also was reminded why I HATE COLLECTORS in MP. I never noticed that wicked pike the Collector Captains carry - that thing is nasty! Finally got through all the missions except the last one. Didn't want to chance it since I was playing so poorly.
Met with Ann Bryson and got a pretty good lead on Leviathan.
Held a memorial service for Thane.
Today, headed to "Sanctuary" and found out what Cerberus was up to. Miranda and Oriana are both fine. Remembered to pick up both the Locust and the Saber. Then hit a comm hub to take it back from Cerberus.
Next stop: Despoina, for a date with the cold and dark.
Once that's done, I'll head back to the Citadel for more meet-ups (still have to spring Grunt out of custody) and the final arena match. I will probably play some extra matches as well since I'm low on funds to upgrade all my weapons. If I hadn't bought the Wraith, I probably would have had enough for them all already. Priorities!

Some pics from yesterday.
I can't tell for sure, but this really looks like a Reaper ship. It's straight ahead when you first land underwater on Despoina.
I also found some datapads I hadn't seen before while exploring the wreckage waiting for Cortez to fix the shuttle. One of them implied the artifacts we find there were brought from some place else while the last crew was out looking for food.
I love this line from Garrus, and the way he says it. I played Leviathan the first time with a Garrus-mancer, so I always think of this as his line, even though I know the other LIs say it too. They just don't do it as well.
Busting Grunt out of C-Sec custody.

I wondered what type of ship it was as well but didn't think of ot being a reaper ship, from the angle of the wings it looks Turian but you are right other parts look like part of a Reaper.
