Why do they need the space magic battery to beat the Reapers? Just link Barbie Shepard to their minds. The Reapers are going to love one of the end game options.

Finishing up from last weekend, Barbara "Barbie" Shepard...
General Corinthus: Commander Shepard, it's a pleasure to meet you.
Barbie: It's a pleasure to meet me, too!
Corinthus: Um,... what?
Liara: Ignore here.
Barbie: We're here to pick up the Primarch to bring him to a war summit.
Corinthus: Primarch Vidorian was killed.
Barbie: Well then resurrect him so we can get going!
Corinthus: You can't just raise people from the dead!
Barbie: Can you at least try?
Corinthus: Is she always like this?
Liara: Yes.
Barbie: I'll start the summoning circle!
Corinthus: Please don't. We just have to find the next Primarch.
Barbie: We need an animal sacrifice. Somebody get me a chicken!
Corinthus: If you can get our comms tower operational, we can find the next Primarch AND WHY DO YOU HAVE A
CEREMONIAL DAGGER?
Barbie: Doesn't everyone have one? AND WHERE IS MY CHICKEN!?
* * *
Barbie: I need one of you to repair the tower while the other one helps me defend it.
Liara: Why don't you go up and fix--
Barbie: Okay you're up Liara! You ready, James?
Liara: Fuck me. (climbs up)
Barbie: (looks up at Liara, shakes tower) Earthquake test!
Liara: GAAAAAH!
* * *
Corinthus: The next Primarch is General Victus. It will take some time before we can locate him.
Barbie: I still say our best bet is to summon a demon.
James: I thought you wanted to raise the dead?
Barbie: Been there, done that. Now let's summon some hellspawn!
Corinthus: How about we don't and say we did?
Barbie: How about we do and then brag about it?
Garrus: General, need some help?
Barbie: GARRUS!
Garrus: FUCK!!
Corinthus: You two know each other?
Barbie: Garrus is my best friend!
Garrus: Please kill me.
Joker over comm: Commander, we have a situation up here! EDI just went offline!
Liara: I'll go check it out! (speeds off)
(Reaper troops drop in)
Corinthus: Commander, if you can go deal with that, I would appreciate it.
Barbie: I'm on it, General, sir!
Corinthus: Garrus, go help her.
Garrus: (wimpering) Please no.
Corinthus: That's an order, Garrus!
Barbie: All right! Let's go kick some Reaper ass!
* * *
Barbie: General Victus? I'm Commander Shepard of the Normandy.
Victus: Ah, Commander. I know who you are.
Barbie: Awesome! Do you want my autograph?
Victus: No not really,
Barbie: What if I autograph your armor?
Victus: That won't be necessary.
Barbie: What if I autograph my armor?
Victus: That's not how autographs are supposed to work.
Barbie: What if autograph my boobs?
Victus: That's not... what? Never mind. Garrus, where have you been?
Garrus: Heavy Reaper unit on your right flank? I believe your direct orders were 'get that thing the hell off my men'.
Victus: I appreciate it.
Barbie: Did you try 'Bug-B-Gone'? I find that keeps most pests away from you.
James: That's only for bugs.
Barbie: It says 'pests' on the label.
Garrus: (dousing himself in Bug-B-Gone) Worth a shot.
Barbie: Hmmm. I love that smell.
Garrus: Dammit.

Hmm...today I became the first human Spectre. Did a few things for some people around the Citadel. Never knew when someone owing you a favor might come in handy. Found Liara and recruited her. Stayed entirely neutral with Liara but flirted a bit with Kaidan and with Ash, though it was a bit less with her. Helped Kahoku with Cerberus but unfortunately it led to his death. However, they were shut down for good.

I sent Jenkins ahead to die, then told Kaidan to get over it. I then blamed Ashley for getting her entire squad killed, even though I let my entire squad die on Akuze. They don't need to know that.
Kaidan tries to act way too friendly and nice. If an opportunity arises to get him killed too, I think I will take it.

Days worth of gameplay I haven't posted. I've been playing instead. Still, I took notes so here we go!
Previously, I said John Shepard was an Adept. I was mistaken. He's still and Earthborn/Sole Survivor but he's my standard Vanguard. I kind of wish he were Adept but that'll have to wait for another run. I had thought Vanguards could use better armor but it's only the lightweight stuff.
Agebinium: Hackett sent me to disable an old Alliance probe armed with a nuke. It had suddenly become active and if the Citadel found out about it, humanity would be censured and face sanctions. It wouldn't look good. Tracked it down and disabled it. Turned out some asshole behind the attack on Elysium wanted to secure his power by taking out the first human Spectre. One of us made it out alive. Was accidentally rude to Kaidan and I hope he doesn't take it personally. (Kaidan/Tali)
Luna: Another Alliance mission, this time to Earth's moon. There was a VI that had gone rogue that was acting a hell of a lot like an AI, though Hackett swore that wasn't the case. Rumors are that in the early days of human entry into Citadel space, humanity had worked on a secret AI project that went awry and was covered up. So it was hard to credit this wasn't an AI. Then again, the geth weren't meant to become sentient but here we are.
Following the destruction of the VI, a binary code was sent out, or so Kaidan's omni-tool recorded. In ways I can't fully explain, my biotic powers were greater for it. The same was not true of Kaidan, so I don't quite understand what happened. (Kaidan/Ashley)
X57: Distress call from Terra Nova. The ship's VI (an actual VI) said that a asteroid was hurtling toward Terra Nova and would destroy the colony, if not the planet's ecosystem. I had four hours to avert this tragedy by shutting down three fusion torches. Turned out the batarians were behind it in response to humans invading their space and the Citadel ignoring their pleas for aid. Did these assholes really think the Citadel would side with an aggressive race of pirates and slavers? (Note: That's a generalization since most batarians never leave their sector of space.)
The mission was fucked up. Some engineer who was helping me find the torches allowed her brother to die to protect my identity. I can't even comprehend why since I'm a marine and had every intention of taking out the batarians. I encountered one batarian who wanted to cut a deal, even giving me the old "I was only following orders" bullshit. He's dead and I got a key to the main base. Went there and confronted the batarian leader, someone named Balak. Unfortunately, he had taken hostages. As much as I'd have liked to have but a bullet in the guy's head, I decided to save the captives. He also left behind some bombs that needed to be disabled so I couldn't simply follow him. One day, I'd get that bastard, but I'm not the type to let innocents die. (Kaidan/Liara - Paragon 4-1/4, Renegade 2)
Xawin: killed a thresher maw that almost took out the Mako. Geth attempted to lure me into a trap but failed. Checked out a merc camp and found the body of the brother of a guy named Garoth, who I'd met at the Citadel Tower. (Kaidan/Wrex)
Noveria: a bunch of assholes run the place, something I noticed even before encountering their security, nevermind the salarian who ran the place. The security was about the start a fire fight until they were told that, yes, as a Spectre I was allowed to carry my weapons wherever I want. Then one of them had to gall to tell me to behave. I'm sure I could have gotten away with putting a bullet in her brain, manufacturing some fake threat from her. But I didn't want anyone comparing me to Saren.
Fought out Matriarch Benezia - Liara's mother - had passed through. To get to the facility where she'd gone, Peak 15, I needed a garage pass from some dick I'm called Director Asshole. He wouldn't let me through and it turned out they could ignore the rules of Council space and were outside of Citadel jurisdiction. His assistant, Gianna Parasini, offered another way, sending me to meet Lorik Qui'in, a turian who had gotten on Asshole's bad side. I had to get him some information from his office (which was being illegally searched by Asshole) that would implicate the director. I went in and got it. On the way out I ran into Ms. Behave. Since she was there illegally I was in my rights to take her out, which I did so with glee. Then Parasini revealed she was with internal investigations and had been investigating the Asshole. With the data she now had, she arrested Asshole and gave me a garage pass.
Encountered a lot of geth on the way to Peak 15, and there were plenty of them in Peak 15, along with krogan. There were also some giant bugs that attacked on sight. Eventually, we learned they were rachni, a species that had attacked Citadel space 2000 years earlier. The krogan had been uplifted specifically to fight them.
When we reached Benezia, and defeated her, we learned that she was under the mind control - indoctrination, as she called it - of Saren. She said the real threat was his ship, which she called Sovereign, since it gave Saren that power. It was the same ship that was seen over Eden Prime. Benezia believed that, though she could temporarily fight the indoctrination, it would soon take her over again. She became aggressive and we were forced to kill her.
Then there was the matter of the rachni queen. She had been found as an egg. One story was that the rachni were meant to be cloned as an army for Saren. Benezia said that they wanted the queen to find the lost Mu Relay, which is where the rachni were originally discovered. Queens passed down memories from one to the next, so she had this information. Benezia gave us the location of the relay, but we still had no idea where to look on the other side. The queen said something had taken control of the rachni in the past since they weren't normally aggressive. The rachni we'd found hadn't been properly raised in connection to the queen and were insane as a result. She said they all needed to be destroyed. I decided to trust her and allowed her to go freedom. The Council wasn't exactly happy with that decision, especially the turian Councilor. But I give as good as I get. (Kaidan/Liara, Paragon 7-1/4, Renegade 2-1/4)
Citadel: Did a bunch of minor missions to gain good will among those living on the Citadel.
Klensal: Another crime lord bites the dust.
MSV Ontario: resolved a situation with L2's who had been seeking reparations for the implants that had driven most of them insane or crippled. They took hostage the guy who voted against said reparations. I talked them down and Chairman Burns agreed to revisit the request, not realizing how bad off they were. I let him know he wasn't doing his job if he didn't know. A lot of L2's in my died because of this. I can't help but think that if things had been a little worse for Kaidan he'd have been among these people.
Trebin: Took down another thresher maw. Wish I'd had the Mako on Akuze. Maybe then the rest of my squad might have survived.
Investigating an ExoGeni investigation site, we found husks and dragon's teeth. The only other place we'd encountered them were on Eden Prime and in one of the Cerberus facilities. I couldn't help but wonder if there were a link, since there was no geth activity.
Mavigon: Cold as hell and I wondered if I couldn't get Kaidan's mother to knit me a sweater.
Another crime lord went down.
MSV Worthington: A crazy biotic killed the entire crew to prevent them from turning off the life support for her brain dead boyfriend. We took her out and put the let the other man finally die.
Metgos: A distress signal turned out to be a geth trap. It failed.

From the weekend, Barbara "Barbie" Shepard...
Joker: EDI just went offline.
Barbie: What do you mean offline?
Joker: She's not responding and I can't access her AI Core diagnostics. You better get down to deck 3.
Barbie: Oh no! My cookies!
Traynor: Your... cookies?
Barbie: I was baking cookies in the AI Core.
Traynor: Why would you be baking cookies in the AI Core.
Barbie: Because we don't have a kitchen.
Traynor: But we do have a kitchen. It's on deck 3.
Barbie:
Traynor: Right next to the table?
Barbie:
Traynor: Are you blind??
Barbie: That's a kitchen?
Traynor: Yes! What did you think it was?
Barbie: An open bathroom?
Traynor: An open--- oh dear god.
* * *
Barbie: EDI, you're in Dr. Eva's body.
EDI: Yes, although not all of me.
Barbie: Can I play with it?
EDI: No.
Barbie: Why not.
EDI: I have extensive access to your extranet habits. I do not wish to find out what you plan to do with
this body.
Barbie: You're no fun.
EDI: Your definition of fun includes activities that are illegal in several systems.
Barbie: Where's your sense of adventure?
EDI: Moving to my operating system's Recycle Bin.
* * *
Kasumi: The Reapers aren't people. I can't just infiltrate a Reaper party and steal a big "I Win" bomb.
Barbie:
Kasumi: I'm not infiltrating a Reaper party!
Barbie: You're not even going to try?
Kasumi: What am I supposed to do? Wear a giant Reaper costume?
Barbie: That could work!
Kasumi: I'm not wearing a giant Reaper costume!
Barbie: What if I steal a Reaper? Think you can pilot it?
Kasumi: No! I'm a thief!
Barbie: Oh I get it! Then we steal a Reaper!
Kasumi: Dammit, Shep!
* * *
Barbie: Hey, Ash. What did Udina want?
Ashley: He asked if I wanted to become a Spectre.
Barbie: You? Ha ha ha ha ha ha!
Ashley: Well thanks for the vote of confidence.
Barbie: Seriously, you got beat up by a robot because you couldn't shoot straight.
Ashley: You're not making me feel better.
Barbie: Plus you were pretty useless back when we were chasing after Saren.
Ashley: Shepard...
Barbie: Plus you left your unit to die when you ran away.
Ashley: Please don't...
Barbie: At least you didn't die when the beacon exploded in my face because I pushed you away.
Ashley: I hate you.
Barbie: And there was that other time you weren't abducted by the Collectors because I showed up just in time.
Ashley: Go away.
Barbie: So look on the bright side: you're not totally useless!
Ashley: Just kill me.
* * *
Aria: Cerberus has greatly expanded since they took Omega from me. Surely the Alliance has noticed?
Barbie: So what's the plan?
Aria: Kick them out.
Barbie: I like that plan!
Aria: I knew you would.
Barbie: We're going to be the bestest of friends!
Aria: I think we are!
Narrator: They won't.
(I think I will have some more time this week, so I will be playing a bit more Barbie Shepard. So hopefully I will be posting more.)

Barbara "Barbie" Shepard...
Barbie: Kelly!
Kelly Chambers: Shepard!
Barbie: What are you doing here?
Kelly: I left Cerberus. When the war started, I came here and started helping refugees. How have you been?
Barbie: Let me tell you all about it!
Four hours later...
Kelly: (on comms) Karl? I need a new identity and the name of a good plastic surgeon.
* * *
Barbie: Kahlee Sanders? It's me, Shepard.
Kahlee: Thanks for coming. I need you to go rescue the students. They're in Orion Hall.
Barbie: On it! (runs off)
Barbie and company see Cerberus dragging a student off to goodness knows where.
Barbie: I haven't seen someone dragged like that since I was last on the Extranet.
EDI: Shouldn't we try help him?
Barbie: That's indestructible glass. We can't break through it.
Garrus: But we have piercing mods.
Barbie: I didn't design this station, okay? If I did, everything would be a bit more... explodable.
EDI: That seems worse.
Barbie: What do you mean? Explosions are cool!
EDI: But people could die.
Barbie: You say that like it's a bad thing.
Garrus: That is a bad thing.
Barbie: Are you sure?
* * *
Jack: Kahlee said someone was coming, but she didn't say it was the Queen of the Girl Scouts. (jumps down
and punches Barbie)
Barbie: Hit me harder, daddy!
Jack: What?
Barbie: You heard me.
* * *
Barbie: Hey David! You still good at math? What's 3 times 3?
David: 9.
Barbie: What's 4 times 4?
David: 16.
Barbie: And what's 5 times 5?
David: 25.
Barbie: (counting in her head) Damn, you're good.
* * *
Garrus: Will you hurry up? We have to get to the shuttle bay.
Barbie: I'm looking for the guns!
Garrus: You already got the gun.
Barbie: He said 'Guns. Lots of guns.' One gun is not 'lots of guns'.
Garrus: Maybe he included the mod?
Barbie: Where are all the guns!? Who in their right mind thinks one guns is 'lots of guns'?
Garrus: Someone who hates guns?
Barbie: Who hates guns? Guns are cool! You can shoot things with guns.
Garrus: Some people don't like shooting. Or seeing people shot. Or getting shot.
Barbie: Who doesn't like getting shot?
Garrus: Everybody.
Barbie: What are you talking about? I get shot everyday and I'm just fine.
Garrus: Are you, though?
* * *
EDI: I suggest you take control of the Atlas Mech, Shepard. It would provide a tactical advantage.
Barbie: No it won't. I'm better than a mech!
EDI: But Shepard, my analysis suggests---
Barbie: I CAN'T HEAR YOU! LA LA LA LA LA LA...

Okay, I've got a backlog. I'm going to start and work my way as far as I can. Don't have much left of ME1 at this point.
Eletania: Found a gigantic reflective sphere floating over a Prothean ruin. Trinket from the asari consort that fit right into a slot on the underside of had an effect on me. Gave me visions of proto-humans being visited by space ships, most likely the Protheans since it's part of their ruins. Behaves similar to the beacon but without the searing pain and unconsciousness. Very clear visions this time.
Looked for a data module in a probe that went missing. It was stolen by space monkeys. Found deep inside of an abandoned mine where we recovered it after a spooked space monkey dropped it. That's when the geth popped up but we took them out.
Feros: This was the third location to seek out Saren or whatever he was seeking. The man greeting us at the dock was immediately killed by geth, who were immediately terminated by us. Entire colony of Zhu's Hope was under siege so Saren was seriously after something. Met with the colony leader, Fai Dan. His assistant was a real bitch. Hope she didn't turn out like that woman in security on Noveria because I promise she'll have the same fate. When geth did attack, the rallying cry was "Protect the Heart of the Colony". Damn peculiar thing to say.
Fought off the attack and the geth dropship. It didn't take long to realize that everyone on this planet is fucking crazy, including the guy we would scream in pain and then start laughing. During my exploration of I found some problems. Water pipelines were turned off, a varren with an alpha leader was endangering everyone and recovered some power cells. Took out some more geth and a few krogan, destroying a geth transmitter in the process.
Colony was founded by ExoGeni corporation, the same one who had turned people into husks. Crossed the ancient Prothean skyway to reach the scientists. A lot of geth were trying to stop us but the Mako was up to the task. Picked up someone transmitting messages and decided to investigate. Another asshole, like the one on Noveria, tried to get in my way. Must be a trait of these corporate types. I followed up on a lead to ExoGeni HQ and found Lizbeth Baynham. She said the corporation was studying a native lifeform called the Thorian which could control people through spores and lived under Zhu's Hope. That explained all the craziness of the colonists. Meanwhile, the asshole decided Zhu's Hope was going to be "re-purposed" which would lead to the deaths of the colonists. Let's just say he was "re-purposed" as fertilizer.
Didn't know how to deal with mind controlled colonists but Julia Baynham had an idea. A nerve agent that only worked on plants could be loaded into my grenade launcher and should take care of the spores. Worked well except that I ran out of grenades and was forced to kill one of the colonists. Felt bad but it was out of my hands. Worst, though, was Fai Dan feeling guilty and somehow not free of Thorian control. He was being ordered to kill me but resisted long enough to kill himself. That willingness to sacrifice himself was downright heroic.
Went underground to face the Thorian. It shit out a green asari that spoke to us. Saren had made a deal with the Thorian but then betrayed it so it was unwilling to work with me. I had to fight a lot of these weird Thorian creepers, as well as more asari clones, but also destroy some nodes. After the fifth, the Thorian fell into some deep pit and I just hoped it took that thing out. Then the real asari was released from a pod. Her name was Shiala and she explained how she had worked for Benezia and was handed over to the Thorian as part of the deal. The Thorian had been alive when the Protheans inhabited Feros. It had insight into the way Protheans thought, their culture, their belief systems and so on. That would help better understand the visions from the Prothean beacon. She passed on to me what she gave Saren. It still wasn't clear but Shiala said it would take time to sink in. I really wanted this asari commando to join my team but she wanted to help the colonists of Zhu's Hope to recover. Couldn't blame her for that. Still, got what Saren got, and freed the colonists, so I guess it was a success of sorts.

I can't wait to see Barbie vs Brooks. When I get there, I will do my best to meet your expectations.

No pressure. I am just imagining Brooks' fake bubbly babbling interrupted by Barbie's sincere bubbly babbling and leaving the former speechless.

Okay, here's some more: Normandy: Liara interpreted some of my vision and confirmed the Reapers wiped out the Protheans. She also said only someone will a very strong will could have survived getting the visions rammed into my head. The Council accepted my report to them except that turian dick. Always got shit to say, kind of like Udina. Bright side: flirted with Kaidan some more. MSV Cornucopia: Found an abandoned ship full of husks. Logs said they'd found an alien artifact near the Perseus Veil. Then they plotted a course directly into geth territory. Seems likely they were indoctrinated before becoming husks. Kaidan suggested this was a message from the geth to stay away. Nodacrux: Went down to investigate a distress beacon. First thing we encountered were some of those Thorian creepers, making me wonder if the Thorian had managed to survive. A science facility was full of the creepers. Surprise, it was ExoGeni! I learned that the creepers were docile but then went crazy, which might have coincided with the Thorian dying. I hoped so. The chief scientist did try to buy me off to keep quiet. I said someone had to pay for all the deaths. She threw some second-rate mercs at me and that was that. They seem on par with Cerberus. Chasca: Found a civilian structure with a lot of husks surrounding it. Everyone inside was dead. A science facility had dragon's teeth and more husks. Shit. A Cerberus facility. Thought they were all gone. Maji: Red sun, blue moon. Perfect night sky. Found a weird skull even an omni-tool couldn't identify. There were blaster marks on it as though it had been hunted down but strange that there was just the one if that was the case. Destroyed a geth outpost. Casbin: Took care of two geth outposts here. Antibaar: Took out another thresher maw with a bunch of geth destroyed by it. There was another Prothean ruin nearby. Another geth outpost was destroyed. Rayingri: One more outpost with dragon's teeth around it. Solcrum: The blue sun was outstanding. There was one last geth outpost inside of a facility. After the last geth died, a monitor showed a video a quarian singing a song of worlds and innocent lost. The recording was then sent out to the Perseus Veil. Curious that, even now, the geth seems to have some attachment to their creators. MSV Fedele: Overrun by things that looked sort of like creepers but a little different. At the heart of it was a salarian calling himself Dr. Heart. Garrus identified him as Dr. Saleon, a vile creature who grew organs inside of the poor (for money) to trade on the black market. Garrus had tried to take him out when he was with C-Sec but had been blocked by his superiors. Now the guy had nowhere to run. I let Garrus do the honors of stopping him from doing more harm. Ontarom: Pretty sure I found a bunch of giant bed bugs. At least these ones didn't try to suck out my blood. Intel from Hackett said scientists involved with the thresher maw attack on Akuze where I'd been the only survivor. These scientists were part of a rogue black ops organization that went by the name of Cerberus. Damn, if I find any of them I will kill them. Inside a science station I found Corporal Toombs. He'd been in my unit. I'd thought I was the only survivor but now I knew there was at least one more. Toombs was holding a gun to the head of a scientist. He told a tale of being experimented on by Cerberus scientists. They'd even injected thresher maw venom into his veins to see what would happen. Worst of all, the attack on Azuke was planned to the scientists could see what happened. Given that this was Cerberus I had no doubt Toombs was telling the truth. The scientists had been saying Toombs was crazy but then threatened us, saying we didn't know who we were messing with. Toombs wanted to shoot him but I suggested I do it because, as a Spectre, I could do it with no questions asked. Sometimes the freedom that came with being a Spectre was worthwhile. Toombs wanted to know if his nightmares would ever end. I told him they would but I think the peace he got from wiping out the scientists would have helped regardless. Would have loved to have him with me but he was currently too unstable to be effective. He needed help before he could take on anything else. Nepmos: Found a squad of marines under heavy fire from rachni. Was sure making me question my decision to save that queen on Noveria. We helped them wiped them out. Then found and destroyed a nest. There was no queen present. Altahe: More god damned rachni! Turns out these may have been drones from Noveria so they might have been around well before I released the queen. All human personnel were dead but I got a lead. Unidentified Space Facility: Cerberus were behind the rachni - there was a log that mentioned something about development on Noveria. Is there a link between Cerberus and Binary Helix, and by extension Saren? I wouldn't be surprised to learn ExoGeni was working with them. Tuntau: Found a facility run by a turian warlord. Wrex said this place was on his agenda since the turian had his grandfather's armor. We wiped out the warlord and his followers, retrieving that crap armor. It seemed to make him happy. Who knew the krogan could be sentimental? Presrop: Major Kyle, who I'd once served under, became the leader of a biotic cult. I found that odd since he wasn't himself biotic. Yet, he'd convinced these people that they were superior beings and that the Alliance was out to kill them. Hackett had told me that he'd also killed two Alliance officers sent to investigate. I wondered if people like me, or Kaidan, wouldn't have ended up in a place like this if we hadn't joined the Alliance. I convinced "Father Kyle" that if he didn't surrender then more forces would be sent in and they'd all be killed. He didn't want that so surrendered peacefully. I imagine he was headed for a psych ward. Chohe: Killed another thresher maw. A facility was full of terrorists hiding behind civilians who were drugged with psychedelics. Very shitty situation. Stupid biotic terrorists thinking this crap would work. I took them all out with no civilian casualties. Amaranthine: Headed to an engineering outpost to meet Helena Blake. Her organization was behind a lot of slaving and red sand. Blake wanted her partners removed so she would restrict herself to illegal gambling and tech. I told her that the name of the gang was tainted and needed to be disbanded. She agreed on the condition that she be able to leave freely. I let it slide. She did, after all, help me take out slavers and red sand dealers. Wrap up: I took care of every last assignment, no matter how small, except for Pinnacle Station. If I got to keep the apartment I would have won (that over Anderson's in ME3) I'd have bothered but it's minor. Maybe next run. Next up is Virmire and we all know where it goes from there.

I played some more Barbie Shepard the past few days, but have not gotten around to writing about it yet. I may do that starting Sunday or Monday (I may spend time Sunday playing some more Mass Effect).

Virmire: Went looking for the STG squad that had been sent here by the Council. With Kaidan and Ashley. Seemed like I should have my right and left hands with me here. It was rough. We found out Saren had a cure for the genophage, starting with an army of clones. We knew that it would just mean enslavement for the krogan but Wrex was taking it very seriously. We had it out and Ash was ready to take him out but I was able to convince him to stand down. This is where it got worse. The STG had a plan to destroy the facility (it was a cloning facility rather than a true cure for the genophage), which meant turning the salarian drive core into a bomb. One of my people had to go with the STG and the other with me. Ash and Kaidan both wanted to be the one to go. Ash made a good point that Kaidan was better equipped to handle the bomb and so I sent her with the STG. They were extraordinary as a fighting force and I knew they'd work well together.
Made my way through the facility with Kaidan and Garrus. Ran across some indoctrinated salarians along the way, as well as krogan and geth. Found a salarian who talked to me about how his fellows were being indoctrinated. He seemed to guess the facility was going to be destroyed. I decided to let him go and he ran like hell for safety. I wasn't so charitable with the asari scientist. She was working for Saren but realized too late that she'd become indoctrinated herself. She tried to win my favor. Instead, she got a bullet to the head.
Found another Prothean beacon but this one was fully intact. Looks like Saren was a step ahead of me, like always. After using it, I still had no clarity. What came after, though, was worse. It was a projection of Sovereign, who identified as not just a ship but a Reaper itself. It claimed to have to beginning and no end. We'll see about that. We did learn that the Citadel and the mass relays were not Prothean inventions as was believed. They were Reaper creations to allow us to develop they way they wanted using their technology so that we could be found more easily. Couldn't quite understand why they were doing this. Also, I pissed it off, so I call that a minor victory.
To be continued...

I actually rewatched Paragon Lost yesterday after years. And I actually enjoyed it a lot more the second time for some reason. I will also say that I didn't really care for the fact that once again Liara was the only Shepard squad mate (besides obviously Vega), that gets shown and referenced. And she is referenced like she is best buds with Shepard again. Another thing I wish is that James maintained his professional, but relatable attitude that he had in this movie. Him being flippant and acting bro-ish in me3 is actually very off putting when you compare these two James.
Other than that, been playing two different Shepards lately. I am playing my mean female Shepard again. She romanced Kaidan, but cheated for Jacob. I am torn if I should kill Kaidan or just have him rejoin. I might have him rejoin to hear any dialogue from when they break up. Other than that she kills everyone she comes across and helps no one. I also realize that Vanguard is such a painfully boring and repetitive class in SP. It feels so one note.
I am also playing my male Adept romancing Miranda. Miranda and adept is sooo fun. Like her and Adept fits so well. I am also trying him out with a Scimitar shotgun as well. GPS is too overpowered. I like it so far. I also plan to kill everyone except Miranda, Garrus, and Thane.

I had this massive write-up for ME1 that I lost when my computer crashed. That hasn't happened in ages and it kind of pisses me off. Rather than attempt to re-write it, I'll do the cliff notes version.
On Virmire, I talked down Wrex, sent Ashley off with the STG, had Kaidan defuse the bomb, sacrificed Ashley and fought off Saren. Then the bomb exploded.
Went back to the Citadel. The Council was their usual assholish selves and the bootlicker sided with them to lock down the Normandy do I didn't go to Ilos. Anderson punched Udina in the face to end the lock down and the Normandy was off to Ilos.
Kaidan came in my room while I was preparing. No more games. We ended up having sex and I was watching him when he woke up. (FYI, this is the first time I've ever seen it appear this way after the most polished version of the same-sex romance mod. Previously, it cut out that last bit. I know this doesn't mean a lot to most here but for me it was awesome.)

Shepard Log 18
Captain Ventra is shooting bugs that keep crawling upstairs: Haven't slept in 57 years. Seeing spooky hallucinations.
Kaidan: This is a spooky reality.
Shep: Can I have your elevator card? I call dibs on pressing buttons.
Kaidan: We haven't crashed that yet since the tram is done for.
Alestra: Go away! You've interrupted 300 years worth of meditation.
Shep: I know 300 various meditative sounds! Want to hear them?
Alestra: No!
Shep: Huummm..........
Petozi: Welcome to my shop.
Ash: You'll regret saying that.
Shep: Woohoo! My anti-bug stress relief!
Dr Palon: Aggh! I'm all weird, spooked and useless after the big secretive accident. So secretive that I can't say anything useful about it.
Dr Zev Cohen: So... who wants to hear about that super secret accident since the people are dying from toxin exposure and I am mistakenly assuming the company cares more about their well being than about me keeping it a big secret.
Ash: I bet you ten sandwiches it's some kind of bio weapon.
Kaidan: I bet you ten sandwiches that I won't bet against it.
Shep: Is it a bio weapon?
Dr ZC: All our secret notes are kept in the quarantine lab. The Captain keeps the place, which only crazy people would enter, under tight lock.
Ash: I bet you ten sandwiches we're going in there.
Captain Vent: If you stop telling me how you've spent your last Saturday...
Shep: But I didn't get to the part of the Vorcha butt plugs...
CV: I WILL LET YOU INTO THE LAB, but before coming out we'll be scanning you for fishy anomalies.
Kaidan: Sounds like they aren't planning on letting us out alive.
Han Olar: Oh! Oh! Oh! The outsiders I can spill all the dirty secrets to!! An egg! Eeeggg! They brought HER here!
Shep: Isn't omelette an IT?
Wimpy Scientists: Don't they stick a grenade up your butt and explode it for talking about the egg?
Shep: That's a promising theory.
WS: Why can't we be trapped with a mute type of crazy.
ERCS Guard: You wanna die in the lab? Be my guest.
Shep: These cure instructions say to mix vials.
Kaidan: I think they meant mixing the substances inside the vials, not switching the vials around.
Shep drops they vials and they form some sort of weird liquid: Done!
Ash and Kaidan crossing fingers: At least we won't be the ones to drink it.

OK, this is it. Final post for ME1.
Ilos: Looked for a drop point down on Ilos. The best option was too small for a drop while the one with the right size was too far off. Lots of arguments until Joker said he could do it. And he did, taking myself, Kaidan and Garrus down to the planet's surface. First thing we saw was a sealed doorway that we couldn't pass through. In the other direction were lots and lots of geth. There were also strange statues of ancient beings who were decidedly not Protheans. Maybe a race from a prior cycle?
Along the way, found a broken VI that was speaking Prothean. I understood it but no one else did. I was playing a distorted message and the visual was broken. It mentioned the Conduit but nothing useful. Used this to unlock the sealed gate and took the Mako through it. We followed the passage, noticing walls and walls of stasis pods, all of which contained dead Protheans. The pods had failed for some reason. Then we had to stop when energy barriers popped up in front of and behind us. The only place to go was an elevator off to the side. It took us down deeper and onto a walkway. There was another VI (Vigil) there but this one was able to communicate though its avatar was just as distorted as the other one. It told us about how the Citadel was a mass relay into dark space which the Reapers used to get here, sending a signal to the keepers to allow them in. There was also talk of indoctrinated agents turning against the rest of their people. I know we had Saren and Benezia (and probably Shiala before her encounter with the Thorian) but who else? Two or three doesn't seem to be enough. I guess it was a work in progress on Virmire until we destroyed the facility. Once the Protheans learned what had happened, they worked to prevent it from occurring again in future cycles. They built the Conduit, a mini relay, to allow them direct access to the Citadel that circumvented security. From there, they found a way to block the keepers from sending the signal. It would have to be done manually from something called the Master Control Unit, which was unknowingly housed in the Citadel Tower. Vigil gave us a program that would take control of the Citadel and prevent the relay from dark space opening.
The Conduit itself looked like a mini mass relay and led right to the relay statue on the Presidium - the same one where Kaidan said it made his teeth tingle when he was around it. Saren had sealed the elevator to the Citadel Tower so we had to go for a walk on the outside and through a hatch that brought us right to where the elevator led.
I confronted Saren. He told me Sovereign had implanted him to get rid of any lingering doubts about what he was doing. I told him he could redeem himself. He did so by shooting himself in the head. He may have been a dick but at least he died free.
I used Vigil's program to take control of the Master Control Unit, preventing the relay from opening. Then I got a message from Joker, saying he had an Alliance fleet at Arcturus waiting to come to the Citadel's aid, needing only to know the best course of action since I was on the scene. Option A was to protect the Council and the 10,000 others aboard it, but probably destroying many Alliance ships in the process. Option B was to attack Sovereign directly and let the Council die, which Garrus thought was best. (I kind of agreed since those guys were assholes who never listened to a damn thing I said - but they were assholes who were doing their best to protect trillions of lives.) I chose to let the Council live. After defending the Destiny Ascension, the Alliance fleet turned to Sovereign itself.
With that attended to, I asked Garrus and Kaidan to check out Saren's body to make sure he was truly dead. Garrus put a bullet in his head to make certain. That's when the flesh burned away, revealing a metal skeleton that Sovereign controlled. Looked a hell of a lot like more than an implant like Saren had believed. It was a tough fight but we took this thing down and it disintegrated. At about the same time, Sovereign was defeated, so maybe there was a connection.
When the Council convened on the Citadel, the recognized the sacrifice that humanity had made on their behalf and that of the galaxy. They were now the fourth race that proved itself to be capable defenders. As such, humanity was awarded a place on the Council. They allowed me to make suggestions but it some ways it came down to two: Udina, the politician who stabbed me in the back repeatedly for his own political gain (and who I said "Nobody stabs me in the back") or Anderson, who was willing to do whatever it took to succeed, and without whom the galaxy would probably have died since we couldn't have gone to Ilos. That choice was easy: Anderson. Tevos thought he was an inspired choice and gladly accepted the recommendation. Udina was surprised, but I was just surprised I didn't laugh right in his face.
It was good that we prevented the Reapers from coming through the relay but I knew they were still out there and would find some other means to return. I intended to find a way to stop that from happening.
