I finished Mass Effect today. When Shepard climbs from the wreckage, I still get goosebumps after 14 years and 100+ PTs. I listen to The Faunts' M4 all the way, and usually jump straight into ME2. Today, I have a Roland Garros SF to watch and some minor things to do. I'll start ME2 later. I'm glad I asked the Lead Engineer on X57 for armor, because I never got another good armor drop for the rest of the game. I would've had to complete the game in Duelist armor; Insanity, as well. The vendors stopped upgrading their wares at level VI for me, with the only exceptions being alien armor and SPECTRE stuff. I couldn't buy armor or mods that I usually buy. The problem started after installing the last update. They also bungled the "reach max level in a single PT" update. They raised the required XP to get from 29 to 30 to over 400K. I'm guessing they meant to lower the ceiling by 200K rather than increase it.*headsmack* *** From the Personal Logs of Commander Abigail Shepard, August 12th, 2185. One more tour, more throwing down with random Batarian terrorist plots. This time they seemed to hijack an Alliance missile defense base for the planet Watson and were turing the weapons back on the colony it was supposed to be defending. I had the choice between the Alliance industrial base and the lives of the colonist. I chose the colonists. Hard to care about Alliance interests right now and people can always rebuild, maybe somewhere else, but the lives themselves are precious at the end and cannot be replaced ever. The Alliance is just going to have to deal without Watson for the forseable future. Second mission went after the Blue Suns base. It had to give me a bit of a chuckle since I know they know who I am from my reading the log on the Strontium Mule but yet the Captain of this particular base was very confident that he could kill me. Always throws me for a bit of a loop when I see a random terrorist or something trying to use a Revenant against me. Gives me a sense of pride trying to be the best Revenant around. August 16Finally went far out to track down the Hugo Gurnsback. And it was...one of those interesting nightmares that I have bumped into in my time and it was actually kind of biblical. The local food planet side...had negative effects on the human biology. Made people dumber, less inhibitions, more agressive in some cases. Easier to...control over all. Easier to...have relations with. I think I would rather take a bullet then end up in that kind of situation for myself. I just do not know what it would be like if I was like that again, not in full control of my mental faculties, little better then an animal really. I hope the people he tortured can at least find some solace and justice, can find the help they need. Because Ronald Taylor certainly has been left to his own personal hell, it felt like the least we can do. *** So on the subject of everything old is new again usually I end up saving the industrial interests over the colony. Since well that seems like the proper no nonsense renegade thing to do but I kind of realized this was not really consistent with Abby's character. Especially in this version that has a distinct "I don't really care about the Alliance anymore" type of a bent to her. Of course in general this kind of thing keeps on coming up because it boils down to...what is practical? When is it OK to try and project future events? Well I still think I know what I am going to go do with this too later but it is always an interesting moral conversation to have and well, everything old is new again.

Today i started MELE3: - Left Earth and Anderson behind and travelled to the Mars Archives to acquired some prothean blue prints for some kind of weapon against the reapers. - Then travelled to the Citadel to meet the council, visited Kaidan at the Hospital and Dr. Chakwas joined the Normandy crew. - Sanctum: Collected some Reaper tech from a Cerberus lab. - Menae: Garrus joined the team and an agreement was made with the new Primarch.

I have forgotten so much even only playing 3 or so years ago but now you mention it the heavy human armor dropped very little for me as well. Ashley got Collosus L8 and I got Predator L8 but that was it. Throw in the Spectre gear bug for me and that's what I ended up with. I did try the Spectre gear work around but it didn't work for me after 3 attempts i gave up.

I'm used to the occasional RNG difficulty, but the bugged merchants hurt. If you don't get the drops you want, you can always hit up the vendors. When the vendors are only selling outdated gear, you're kind of stuck. I tried starting ME2 twice today. I quickly dumped my Infiltrator. It's just not my thing until ME3. I restarted as a Soldier. I'm more in the mood to replay ME1 or fast forward to ME3. I need to give it time. ME2 is a slow-starter, in my opinion; and it has too many fiddly bits like buying fuel and probes and scanning for minerals. I just want to play missions, get cool gear and shoot bad guys.

Have recruited everyone now except Thane and Samara and I have just landed on Illium with Miranda and Garrus. I will do Mirandas LM and then drop her probably for Tali when doing Thanes Recruitment and then drop Garrus and take Thane for Samaras recruitment. When do the kiosks open up on Illium? Have to do Liara's silly mission and felt guilty when she hugs Shepard as Shepard will be romancing Tali from here on though Jack is still a possibility as I still have her on the hook. Had forgotten how assertive Kelly is, had to put her down a bit hard in one of the dialogue choices which earned me renegade points which I didn't intend.

The stores are open from the moment you arrive on Illium. I bought my Kestrel gear on arrival abd immediately headed back to Normandy to change. Yeah, Kelly kind of grates my nerves. Cheery ass dope joined a terrorist group and thinks they share her ideals on love. I like the crew, but the whole "let's have Shepard work with Cerberus after returning from the dead" plot is so goofy. I think it's why I want to skip backward or forward right now.

I wore the Cerberus Armor the other day but you can't toggle the helmet off or I couldn't figure it out with the armour sets which is an annoyance.

From the journal of Mark Shepard:
What a crazy day. Days? I am losing track of time.
We were testing a new Alliance ship, the Normandy, when everything popped off. First I was told we were headed to Eden Prime to pick up a Prothean beacon. Then I was told that I was being scouted for the Spectres. Then Eden Prime was attacked, and everything went to hell. Long story short, the Geth attacked Eden Prime and were being led by a Spectre named Saren. The Prothean beacon gave me a vision before exploding, knocking me out cold for about 15 hours.
We went to the Citadel to present our case against Saren, but we did not have enough solid evidence to convince them. But as luck would have it, we managed to obtain new evidence and shared it with the Council. The new evidence convinced them to strip Saren of his Spectre status. They also made me a Spectre. My first assignment: track down Saren and bring him to justice.
I also did a bunch of odd jobs on the Citadel for some very shady individuals.
PERSONAL NOTE: Remember to buy Ashley dinner.

Marcus met up with Liara. She really takes loyalty to her friends to another level. She didn't give up on Marcus, and she is still hunting for her friend, two years after he sacrificed himself for Liara. After recruiting Tali, Thane, and Samara, a comm message from Ashley was waiting for Marcus. Hearing Ash voice her apology, and that she couldn't lose him a second time, gave Marcus big reason to make sure this "suicide mission" is the complete opposite. Not wanting to leave Ash hanging, he sent his mother a message asking her to pass a response on to Ash. Marcus' message: Encryption Enabled... Secured dropbox...
To: Hannah Shepard From: Marcus Shepard
Mom,
I don't have much time and will have to keep this short.
I need you to pass something on to Ash, you could likely use Anderson as a go between. My comms are still being monitored but she sent me a message. It seems she needed some time to cool off as well. Let Ash know why I am not responding directly, and tell her....once I am clear of Cerberus I would like to see where the future takes us.
I managed to recruit some of my former crew, Garrus, and Tali. I finally have at least two people who have my back no questions asked if Cerberus tries to pull anything.
Love,
Your Son, SPECTRE Marcus

From the Personal Log of Cerberus Commander Abigail Shepard, August 24th, 2185From one end of the galaxy to the other. Its been...awhile...since I we have been in Citadel Space again. Though it seems the Krogan DMZ hardly counts but until now I have been keeping our operations restricted to the Terminus and maybe even the Traverse since I met with Anderson as we agreed upon. Though it seems just...weird. Its probably just my own values assigning these feelings to something as innocuous as space but the whole feeling of the area feels different then it does in the Terminus Systems. More stuffy, more civilized, more...organized. Of course the lawlessness of the Terminus Systems provides its own problem but its like the very air is clumped together by beureocratic rot. Though of course I just have to go to the one system in Citadel Space which is as lawless and desolate as the rest of the Systems. The Krogan DMZ, and Tuchanka. It was...filthy. Even apparently one of the better put together clans, Urdnot, was living in a bombed out ruin. The good news though is Wrex is now in charge and the actions on Virmire has spurned him on to try and make actual reform and change. Though it seems like he has already drunk the political kool aid in some senses of the word, but he also has his issues and is trying to keep the Krogan...pure...while reforming them and uniting them. An ambitious undertaking but it sounds like he has good ideas. I should've known this is what Grunt was going through, its kind of funny. He is going through the Krogan version of puberty. *chuckles* Well this is different. Human boys tend to suddenly become very interested in girls, making awkward advances and humping anything that moves...and of course your own mind is so addled by hormones you are more recptive to them...but it seems Krogan want to break everything in sight. Of course there is some overlap because boys tend to also get more...territorial around that time. *scratches her eyebrow* God being raised in a gang till I was 16, I'm surprised I can still function. And the trouble here though is that it seems for the Krogan this state is...permenent...oh boy. So the Krogan decide to throw their growing up celebration by a giant survival competition against Tuchanka's animals and wild life. Damn. I couldn't help but notice the half dozen corpses or so strewn across the arena. This of course culiminated in an attack by a full sized Thresher Maw against us. Sometimes in this mission I just can't help but feel like the biggest mecha bad ass of mecha bad asses. Dodging the things acid spit as we laid fire into it was something else... got the blood pumping. But then Krogan politics reared its ugly head...when are politics not ugly? Gatatog Uvenk, seemingly a thorn in Wrex's side, decided to actually try talking Grunt into joining him instead of joining Urdnot and well I don't know if I was mad or it was the adrenaline but I think I came down a bit hard on it. Grunt still stayed loyal though and together we showed that Krogan what for. *** So I gooofed. Twice. In thinking of if I should do the Citadel first or Tuchanka I forgot I was going to do Project Overlord before working my way back down south since it was in that neck of the woods, so now I am going to have to 'race' North again...hopefully I can start that tonight. Option two I assumed this dialogue option was the renegade one because of how aggresive it is so without reading the prompt I went down which is why Abby was all like 'Grunt can't go with you'. I was aiming for 'I bet his answer is coming out muzzle velocity'. I feel like such a heel when I do stupid stuff like that, and I did not record the cutscene in question becasue of it. Next up Mordin's loyalty though before I work my way to doing Overlord and then I think I am going to be fairly close to the end of the game. Of course I have to wonder if I will do more side missions sprinkled here and there or just bull rush so I can ensure I get all of Legion's dialogue.

So today i did a few quests in the Citadel and talked with some old friends. Saved the students of Grissom Academy and Jack. Had a meeting with the Turian, Salarian and Krogan representatives and then travelled to Sur`Kesh and rescued the female Krogan. Finished the day travelling to Mulla Xul and assisting Grunt and his Aralakh Company against the Rachni (made a deal with the Rachni queen again).

Played the Omega DLC for the first time in around 8 years today in MELE for my cannon Shepard. I'm still very early on in ME3. I did Omega just after Priority: Sur'Kesh. I skip it since I'm not a fan of Omega or Aria and you can't take regular squadmates. My opinion of the DLC is the same as it was back then, a combat focused DLC with a story that doesn't really fit in with the rest of the game. They did fix the odd motions during Aria's speech though. But I did unlock the biotic powers that come with the DLC and the all important Steam achievement.

So keeping it short because of time: Finished Horizon and only died once defending the tower to calibrate the guns and that was because Shepards ekbow got stuck on a crate and he copped the full force of the Pretorian at close range. Did some side missions that came up on planet scans, the Klixon, beacon, Geth ambush one. The Broken Mech one and another I can't remember Recruited Tali , the fight against the Geth Armature was much easier than I remember. Headed to Illium did Liara's hacking quest, bumped into Conrad Verner andgot the Asari Merchant arrested, tol Conrad to go home. Had fun chatting with Matriach Atheta, bought lots of stuff, helped Parsanni out and got a kiss, helped Shiala out and got an invitation to catch up sometime and you know , did Thanes recruitment mission, did Samara's recruitment mission and took the Paragon route and let Enora go. Midway through Illium got wrenched from there and sent to investigate the Collector ship, Have now fully upgraded the Normandy I think. Had dinner with Kelly who will now feed my fish, thank god. I fed the fish so often not wanting them to die they probably should have died from over feeding. Still mentally struggling with staying loyal to Liara, romancing Tali or romancing Jack, at this stage Tali is most likely. Anyone no if ther is a mod on NMM that removes helmets for the armour sets (Fire Walker etc.) or am I missing that ther eis a toggle or setting somewhere? Took over 100 Screenshots or Photo Mode pic's the last two days, here's a couple, okay 3.

Did Miranda's and Kasumi's Loyalty missions, and Marcus avoided flirting with Miranda. The crew escaped the Collector's trap and Marcus got a new assault rifle. Marcus let TIM have it for not sharing the intel that the "disabled" ship was a trap. As a peace offering TIM gave Marcus intel on the Shadow Broker that would help Liara. Marcus stopped at public terminal before meeting up with Liara, and found a message waiting for him. Dropbox message: Encryption enabled... Secured Dropbox...
To: Marcus Shepard From: Hannah Shepard
Marcus,
I feel like I should scold you for passing love notes in class. I will make sure she gets the message.
Glad to hear you have people watching your six.
Scuttlebutt among my fellow ship Captains is that the Admiralty Board has started putting resources together to resist a Reaper invasion. It sounds like the intel your girl brought back, and word of your current exploits is finally getting the Alliance moving. Admiral Hackett is said to be the main force behind the move.
Love,
Your mother, Captain Hannah

They did fix the odd motions during Aria's speech though. But I did unlock the biotic powers that come with the DLC and the all important Steam achievement. I really enjoy Omega. It has some of the very best foes and combat in the game. I also think the story fits pretty well. Cerberus is everywhere, even trying to seize the Citadel. It's no suprise they'd take Omega. It's both an unofficial capitol of the Terminus Systems and foothold near the Omega-4 Relay. Whether Shep destroys or saves the Collector Base, Cerberus manages to extract some tech from it. Given all these things, I feel that driving Cerberus off Omega makes a lot of sense. dazk, I've never once let Baby Elnora live. Pitne For tells Shepard that every Eclipse merc earns her uniform by committing a murder. Then, not 10 minutes later, we have uniformed Elnora claiming it's all a misunderstanding. Yeah, right. I deleted my ME2 import again, ditching the Soldier. Sentinel is my favorite class in the first two games, so I decided to just go Sentinel again (AP Ammo bonus). I'm glad, since it feels better and I'm enjoying myself. Sentinel Shep (John Sheploo Shepard) did a lot, today. He visited what's left of Normandy SR1, finding crew dog tags and his old helmet; and setting up a memorial. (That big ass statue must come on a small base that then 3D prints the statue. No way he carried that thing.) He explored the entire cluster, shutting down some shenanigans and claiming a ton of minerals. Most importantly, he recruited Zaeed, Mordin, Kasumi and Garrus, in that order. Kasumi is loyal; Shep has the all important Kassa Locust; and Garrus and Zaeed have the Mattock and Incisor. I saved near Zorya, intending to start Zaeed's mission tomorrow. I am always glad to see Garrus in ME2; but this time was different. In ME1, Garrus and Wrex were with Shepard far more than any other mates. They were with him on Virmire when he met Sovereign. They were there on Ilos, at the Battle of the Citadel and at Saren's final stand. (I usually take Wrex and Tali to Ilos and beyond because of all those Geth.) One can easily imagine the off-camera bonding that would come with experiencing most of the combat encounters and crucial moments together. For this Shepard, it really makes sense for Garrus to be his best bro, and for Wrex to greet him so enthusiastically later in ME2. I'm getting deliriously sleepy, so I should log out before I start typing nonsense. EDIT: One more thing. I dodged the silly "Who should be the human Councilor?" question at the end of ME1, as there's no way Shepard plays a big role in that decision. I'd hoped they'd just make Udina Councilor by default, but ME2 made me say "I recommended Udina" on the shuttle ride. Still, that line is easily blocked out, skipped, or whatever. I did get different dialogue this time when meeting the Council with Anderson. Udina seemed way more pissed in this version of the scene. Instead of calming him and selling him on what Anderson did, Shep and Anderson instead pulled a politic power move to shut him up. Clever, and way more confrontational than the scene I used to get. Overall, I think it fits better with my view of that three-way relationship; and I'll be using this approach more in the future.

There might be a new bug in Arrival. When Shepard has to defend against 5 waves of enemies in the room with the artifact, I heard something like "deploy the mech" over the intercom, but the Ymir never spawned. I had to just sit there, me and my combat drone, until the artifact activated itself. I'd entered photo mode right before that I couldn't find anything about this bug online, making me think it may be new. Anyway, finished Arrival, tried to launch ME3LE, and it crashed to the desktop. It has worked before, so I don't know what happened. I'm waiting for Origin to repair the game now

Yeah I know but my Shepard is playing almost full on Paragon so being too trusting he took her on her word. She'll get caught by Anaya anyway.
