Can I play Legacy of Thieves without any prior XP or knowledge of the other games and still enjoy it? For (approximately) 30 Dollars as a stand-alone game/purchase (unless or until Sony releases the others) is LoT worth the money to play it as a standalone? Yes. Each one is a standalone adventure with the only thru line being the relationships the characters have but that's not necessary to enjoy Uncharted 4 or Lost Legacy. The characters have essentially entered new territory with their relationships in Uncharted 4. There are references to the other games but you're not missing anything important. Thanks, Lyn....I'll certainly consider it! I may pick it up tomorrow sometime before the weekend is done. Thanks again. 8:14 am ET: Well, I did it. I read both yours and Gryph's comments and I did some digging online to see what the verdict was regarding my question...and I came to the conclusion that (as it had been said) the fun thing about the first three is you see how the relationships started. But there's nothing about the story that is over-arching. It's not like MASS EFFECT OT or Fallen Order/Survivor. Each game is itself a standalone adventure. And I've read that in terms of how things looks and play....the PC version is really the best. So for less than 40 dollars including taxes, I pressed the buy now button. I did hesitate and have second thoughts, but then I thought "what the hell? Why not? It's not very expensive and you've wanted to play it for a while. Besides, you'll still be able to afford Veilguard...." So then I completed the purchase (which, Veilguard, is my last purchase for this year). I won't be getting into it until I finish all my other games....Outlaws, Burning Shores, Kena....Lots to play. And then I'll have Veilguard upcoming so...

OK, so my curiosity got the best of me and I decided to see what ULoT was like. I couldn't resist! I was surprised though (considering the Recommended Requirements are a 2070) that it ate up so much VRAM even when it defaulted to Ultra Settings for my PC. But deciding that I didn't want to tax my PC or my GPU to the max...I decided to scale nearly everything but Model Rendering and Textures down to High. Textures and Models are the only two things on Ultra. I'm now using 5940MB VRAM which, I suppose is more reasonable compared to 7400 out of a total of 8000. The game looks amazing! I just played a small part of the opening sequence (the boat chase to the island) to see what it was like and I used a Controller (as was recommended). With all Settings the way they are....in 4K at 60hz, I'm getting an average of 50 FPS with V-sync ON, which is good enough for me.
I'm going to continue to play Outlaws the majority of time...but I'm very interested now that I have Legacy of Thieves.
OK....wow, this is a great game already! I'm just now at the Orphanage and I'm already engrossed in the gameplay! I think this story/game is going to be a lot of fun!
I missed a few minutes of cutscenes but I looked up on YT on what Missed when I got back. It was Nate and Sam outside the Orphanage talking about the bike that sam supposedly bought.
I must say....so far I'm really enjoying this game. I can't let it distract me from Outlaws though!

So far I've played about 2.5 hours of Legacy of Thieves and I'm quite enjoying it. Outlaws still has my attention and my most *likes* for now...But what I have played of Legacy of Thieves I am very much enjoying it. Looking forward to continuing the adventure next weekend.

Even though there is a high chance of T-STorms in my area today I'm going to play as much Uncharted Legacy of Thieves as possible. And of course, Outlaws though I'm really stuck at the Rancor. I know exactly what to do but I just haven't got the speed to do it. Dazk has said rolling is possible and cover a lot of ground so I will try that.

So in Legacy of Thieves right now I am trying to get into the Cathedral of St. Disymus....I'm really quite enjoying this game. My only gripe (and it's very small) is that Nate can't jump for shite.

Well I ran into my first issue with legacy of Thieves but it's a pretty big one as far as I'm concerned. It's stuck on the Loading screen at 72% and won't respond. I also had the Loading screen cut in right at the beginning of an action sequence after just having found the map to King's Bay. It said "LOADING" and showed 87% but froze there and wouldn't respond.

Legacy of thieves was great. The combat was super smooth and it was a good precursor to Last of Us 2 in that regard. The super slow start makes it a tough game to replay though.

I enjoyed how it started. I guess because it's the only Uncharted game I've ever played and don't have the others to compare it to. Having played this one though....I do now find myself hoping that Sony will release the other three for PC at some point. That being said however (I know I'm gonna catch flack for this but) I still find myself prefering the Tomb Raider Survivor Trilogy as a whole in terms of just about everything....gameplay, controls, story etc.

o I had another incident of the same problem from yesterday....I had just exited the church (those puzzles and platforming to ring the bells were a lot of fun!) and I was in the jeep and driving away from the dudes shooting at me.....when suddenly the jeep freezes in mid-air going downhill. So I exited the game out to the desktop, let Steam do its thing and then restarted the game.....and it worked great afterwards.
I thoought the driving would be really difficult with a controller but actually I got into a groove during that sequence and it became easy. Then I moved onto the next action sequence during which I couldn't help but be reminded of Raiders of the Lost Ark. The truck chase sequence through the desert where he begins by hanging onto the grill of the truck then shimmies himself underneath the undercarriage of the truck and hooks the butt end of his whip to the rear axle and allows himself to be dragged until he can climb back into the rear of the truck and finally make his way back to the front end and into the driver's seat.
Well this entire sequence in Legacy of Thieves beginning from where nate is being dragged through the channel beneath the bridge, then hopping from truck to truck while shooting down or running over motorcycles....I mean, wow! What a great gameplay sequence! Not quite the complexity of some of the sequences in Shadows of the Tomb Raider or even Rise of the Tomb Raider- but still a great sequence for both gameplay and cinematics!

Played the heck out of Legacy of Thieves today....Must've done at least six chapters! I'm just starting CHapter 15: Thieves of Libertalia as of 10:05 pm ET on Monday September 30th and really, really enjoying this game! Everytime I seem to be in a zone and complacent with what I am seeing....the cinematics and art design of the next cutscene blow me away....What a great, great game!
My only fault of any of it is there is quite a lot of foul language. I don't mind the F bomb, but it's other words that I cringe at. I don't think it's necessary, the script would be great without the excessive cursing.

Well I finished Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. Took me just under 22 hours and about 2 weeks to complete..Very good game! Not the longest game I've played, I think the Tomb Raider games are longer, especially the third one...But still a very good and very enjoyable game. Story was interesting, gameplay was really fun, characters were interesting and fun, voice acting was good....Honestly, my only complaint was the constant foul language. And, personally, I still prefer the Tomb Raider Survivor Trilogy for all aspects of gameplay (only having this one to compare them to...never having played the other three).
Definitely worth the 35 dollars CAD I paid for it and will definitely play through it again at least 2x between now and Christmas if I am not sidetracked by Veilguard and the other games I still have to finish.
I still have the expansion to play through so I am looking forward to that.
