I was at my local gamestop yesterday the 28th of November and I asked a worker there if a release date was announced and she looked and said that it was December 2017, and yet various places on the internet when you look says march 2017 is the release date. So my question is which one is right. Is December 2017 right as I was told by a gamestop worker or is march 2017 right as several places on the internet says when you do a search?

Nobody knows unless Bioware comes out and confirms it, every date you see right now is a placeholder date.

I'm not opposed to a May-June release if they think they need a couple of extra months to polish the game and nail it how they want it. Ultimately people will cry if the game is post-poned but will cry harder if it gets a bugfest release with obvious massive patches incoming immediately after. Personally if they need more months then they should take them. I'm ok with a summer release if it will happen. Did the same with TW3 and was totally worth it. Let's also be honest, summers are actually great for school students and there's less competition involved. Why the hell businesses do not understand that is beyond confusing.

Its just a fucking placeholder. Yes, I'm admittedly scared as well. But Andromeda is set to release in 2017, and gaming sites almost always use December or the end of a fiscal year or quarter as a placeholder for a video game without a confirmed release date. Apparently Bioware is almost completely finished making Andromeda anyway. The main story is playable from beginning to end, the voice acting is almost finished, almost all of the content is in the game, and the team recently reviewed the ending and claimed to be satisfied with it. All of this points to a release in Spring 2017, like they keep saying. All that's left is polishing and bug-fixing. Bioware entered crunch time in September, which typically lasts for a few months. I can't see them delaying the game when it is almost finished, and spending almost a year in crunch time.

Andromeda was initially set to launch late 2016 (november/december) but at E3 they delayed it to Q1 2017. there is no way that they will delay it for over 3/4 years since they are currently building up hype, this would be a marketing. current info via artbook leak is 21st march, which is end of Q1 2017, and if they cant hold that day its Q2 2017 and if all else fails Q3 2017 but this is highly undoubtly, not to mention if they really go for Q4 2017.

If they don't have a release date after the gameplay trailer tomorrrow, I'll just assume they won't be able to keep that rumored March date. I will get the standard deluxe edition. The SD seems like it will make the game too easy on COOP, and what is the point of playing if you get free goodies every week? Kinda takes the challenge away from the game. [UPDATE] I got the Super Deluxe Edition after all... difference in price was just too small to pass it.

Most likely not the real deal. Big AAA games always release on a Tuesday. No way EA deviates from that tradition. If you would have said March 21st or March 28th, then that would be much more likely. But it's all speculation at this point: Bioware is still holding a Spring 2017 release window. No more info yet

It's not confirmed, i think it is based on the date some sites put to the Artbook of MEA since ME3 was released on the same day as its artbook.

If a release date were chosen, it would be announced. I don't think the game is ready for a release date, yet.

The interesting thing is, after the "facial animations" backlash Bioware updated their official Mass Effect site and stated that game comes out in Early 2017. Seems like they are still heavily confident they will get all things done before summer. And by Early I wouldn't consider April, let alone May. So I still hope March is achievable.
Cmon, all they have left to do now is: - 'fix' those facial animations - balance skills and equipement - implement rest of the side missions (if they didn't yet), since main storyline is already implemented end-to-end. - possibly finish recording rest of the dialogue.

The game will be released when it will be released.
Personally I don't even mind it at all if they push back the release a few more months, polishing and bugfixing and all that.
Edit : also gives me more time to get a new gpu at a lower price.

You're assuming a lot. I've read from their tweets that some companions aren't "implemented", yet. Some companions are in the game, in terms of content and general gameplay, but have no powers at all. I don't know your professional background, but I personally have no idea how easy your list is to accomplish. I suspect it's not as easy as you make it seem ( "all they have to do..."). I'm not trying to be a downer or naysayer. I just wanted to point out what I thought might be some unrealistic expectations. I hope they get this game into a great state by March. If it's not there, though, I'd rather wait for them to finish it. We've waited years already. I can wait through the final hours.

About those missing companions / unfinished companions frankly I didn't know. Hopefully, its just about putting those already developed snippets together into 1 piece.

One free pack a week for twenty weeks is a pretty minimal bonus for anyone who puts any significant amount of time into the MP. Playing Gold in ME3MP you can get a Premium Spectre Pack for about every 30 or 40 minutes of playing, give or take. Put in even just a couple hours a night and you're looking at least a dozen packs every week, so one pack more or less isn't going to make or break the experience, in my opinion. If you look at the long term, using ME3MP again, it takes easily 700 or 800 hours to unlock everything, so shortening that by the amount of time it takes to earn 20 packs is a pretty insignificant difference.

To me the game looks early alpha, so I have no idea how they release a quality product by March, 2017. I can see it getting pushed back to the holidays, 2017...which might be the best thing.
