I'm actually really worried, this might be general fear mongering, but I'm very hopeful that they're not going to release the game earlier then desired because of EA's demands, and I'm extra worried that they're going to sacrifice the PC port in order to release it early. All of BW's games had pretty good ports, and frostbite is a very optimized engine, but I've been stung too many times the last few years. BioWare normally doesn't port their games they design for the PC at the same time as they do with consoles, they just don't take advantage of extra benefits you can have on the PC. The few BioWare games that have been ported to the PC is Jade Empire and Mass Effect 1 since they were not designed for the PC and released as an afterthought. More recent examples of PC ports are Arkham Knight or Deus Ex: Mankind Divided since the studios designed the games for the consoles and then after the game was completed then had someone else attempt to make it work on the PC. There are going to be problems with any PC release due to the sheer amount of hardware released for the platform versus a console when the hardware remains statics for years at a time so that is hardly an indication of a game being a port or not.

So I noodling around on amazon earlier & I noticed this: It has led me to wonder if there is some indication here about the release date for the game. Now I know that nothing has been confirmed, but the reason we all started to speculate about the release date being the 21st or March was due to that leaked image from Titan Books, if memory serves. This however is accessible to the public here's the link to check for yourself www.amazon.co.uk/Art-Mass-Effect-Andromeda-Bioware/dp/1506700756/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1481479176&sr=1-1&keywords=mass+effect+andromedaSo this has left me wondering, with the release date for Nexus Uprising set as 28/3 & now the art book set at 23/3 is the the clearest evidence yet that the game's release date is to be on or around that date? & if so, do you think we'll hear about it soon? Opinions?

I suspect we'll be getting a release date soon yess my guess is either shortly before Christmas or early January assuming everything continues to go to plan for the project. Only time will tell though.

I heard an interview on YouTube and right now BioWare has taken the stance they won't announce an exact ship date until the game goes into certification for consoles, so I would expect them to announce the release date in January/early February if they are still expecting a March release date.

My bet is on late January. Good moment to light the fuse, i.e February is short (4 weeks for final hype build up) and then last preparations for 21st (hopefully) March. Pre-loads on Origin will probably be available a week earlier or so (I do hope so - ME:A feels like its gonna weight 60~ GB at least).

Starts at 6:12. Now obviously BioWare as said Spring 17. Personally, they probably can 'delay' to late Spring because its still technically Spring. But, apparently Aaron Flynn tweeted to Colin and said:"I'll tell it to you over beer." I think they'll reveal the release date with less then a month (similar to Inquisition's DLC) to go before it releases. Considering that we haven't seen a mission run through (not counting PS4 Pro tech demo considering thats just Ryder walking/running), just slices of gameplay here and there. Where Horizon Zero Dawn that releases in a similar window we've seen more gameplay of that then Andromeda. Could they afford to delay it all the way to Spring 18? I don't think they could.

I really think it's coming this spring. With the amount of crunch the devs are doing, it'd be ridiculous to delay it that long.
Read the twitter thread. A few devs worked all night last night. That doesn't happen when you're a year away from release.

Personally I don't think they'll be delaying it any further especially as they've started to really market the game now by showing bits and pieces of the gameplay and stuff. Plus I can see a strategy here with relating to DLC's in that the game releases in Spring ideally March. Then the first DLC's out around the summer June/July then the other DLC's around Autumn/Winter time of 2017 most likely around September October time. By DLC's I'm referreing to things like level/story based DLC's like the Shadow Broker or Jaws of Hakkon/Trespasser that sort of thing. We will likely get outfit/weapon DLC's as well to throw in the mix too but considering they can be dropped at any time plus they don't contribute that much beyond giving our heroes something different to wear I don't really count those.

The most they might delay it at this point is summer/fall 2017. Delaying it all the way to 2018 would garner a negative reaction from fans. It's not a good marketing strategy to specifically say Spring 2017 in all your trailers only to push it off for another year. And considering Mass Effect's tense history with fans, I doubt the devs would want to pull off a dick move like that.

I call hi-jinks and shenanigans. I can foresee some delay. Plus, EA want to try and take advantage of a better release date that may not be as crowded. March might be optimistic based on what we've seen thus far. May/June is probably a more likely window.

I'm sorry, I haven't watched the video but is the idea behind them delaying it another year based off of "I'll tell you about it over beer?" Colin was inferring that it may/was a pain in the a** to make. Plus, wasn't Inquisition supposed to come out a whole year before its actual release date? I think before it was renamed to Inquisition. So, there is precedent for BioWare doing this. Thus, they may end up needing more time because its a new studio of BioWare making it and not Edmonton. He may have said drink not beer, but same thing really... Also reason why it was posted in the first place, Colin as a decent track record of predicting when games get delays/release dates.

Agreed people are still peeved about ME3's ending I'm not one of them as I loved ME3 endings and all and whilst I did feel the ending was a little weak it made sense and for me that was and still is good enough. But I don' t think Bioware will want to repeat these annoyances with MEA because in the end that'll just put people off buying it and that'll be the last thing that either Bioware and EA want. Plus I don't think any company starts releasing trailers for a game in such a short time as the last couple have been until they're close to being ready to releasing it. They have also said that now the only thing they're doing is polishing the game and checking it for bugs and considering the size of Bioware's games that in itself is likely to take a while which is why they're starting the promotion machines now because we don't have much longer to wait.

Actually when it's Spring depends on which part of the world you live in same with any time of the year for example in Australia right now it is Summer whereas in the UK right now it is Winter we al have our seasons at different times but personally I consider June to be our Summer as that's when we have our longest day of the year and by longest I mean most amount of daylight wheras our shortest day I believe is around now a couple of days before Christmas making December winter for me. Personally I still believe that a March/April release is still the most likely right now.

I remember some hullabaloo from a few weeks back because of a screenshot of the Origin pre-order page (I think) showing an autumn release then everybody realising it was the Australian page. I live in the UK now, so I'm unfortunately aware of the short days in winter. I hate sunset at 16:00. It's not right
