Fuck your and your vile fear-mongering. Bioware has always been fucking saying early 2017 and Spring 2017. I can't remember a time where they didn't say otherwise aside from an internal late 2016 release. No shit the game isn't coming out in Jan or Feb, they would have announced a release date by now. A release date will likely be announced within 2-3 months before release. What the fuck do you mean "shaky"? Why the fuck would an artbook release before a game? As of now, the art book is still set to release March 21st, and even the a writer of Bioware has said that the game is still set to release in March, and in an interview today it was explained they are very confident they will make the release date. The game has delayed written all over it? So when I purchase the game it will have black stamped "delays" written all the game case? The game has no clear signs of a delay aside from that investor call explaining Bioware will delay if they must, and even then Bioware is making fantastic progress and has no need to delay. If the game is delayed I will eat a bag of elephant dicks. I like this man's optimism. Me too

If the game is delayed I will eat a bag of elephant dicks. Pics or it didn't happen I do hope you are right though; I have been waiting for this FOR YEARS, and although I can hardly fault my beloved BIOWARE for delaying their latest creation, I would honestly prefer they didn't. My patience has been frayed ever since the PS4 Pro gameplay demo. I already payed for my pre-order. Now I just need a specific release date so I can book some time off of work.

The interesting thing is, after the "facial animations" backlash Bioware updated their official Mass Effect site and stated that game comes out in Early 2017. Seems like they are still heavily confident they will get all things done before summer. And by Early I wouldn't consider April, let alone May. So I still hope March is achievable. Cmon, all they have left to do now is: - 'fix' those facial animations - balance skills and equipement - implement rest of the side missions (if they didn't yet), since main storyline is already implemented end-to-end. - possibly finish recording rest of the dialogue. Well, look at the facial expressions from dragon age inquisition, they always looked a little stiff. probably not a high priority to make them look "good", and god knows that a game with so many dialogues takes probably a very loooong time to make it look awesome, since the quality should be consistent and not randomly or have a priority on the main missions. however, i noticed it in DA:I and i didnt give a crap about it after 30 minutes of ingame time or so and i doubt that there will be a delay if the only thing that doesnt look good are the facial expressions.

I know there is a system in place where they can just replace their placeholders for audio with actual voice acting and they have a system that make lipsync-animations based on sound waves (except not the tone or facial expression; that is either face-capture or hand-animation to be done) but I mean, these things are more like implementation. I thought polish implied that once you have everything implemented already you can start to go through it again to find inconsistencies, glitches, sloppiness and do smaller final touches. What needs to be done based on that gameplay trailer and assuming not all content is already in the game implies to me they're still implementing and are on schedule to release a hastily-put-together product in spring that doesn't have the "final touches" or actual "polish". This is what developers inlcuding Mark Darrah from Dragon Age have to say about what polish means. Sauce: Gamasutra: The Art of Polish
I guess you can qualify ME:A's current state (seemingly) as "everything in the game works" but Mac has been calling it "polish" since summer at E3 when they didn't even have an ending yet. According to Twitter they reviewed the final mission last month for the first time. That doesn't sound like polish at all.

I would also say the animations. There were literally no animation work or just barely any done on the actual faces. Any time someone looked out there was just blank stares or when Ryder talked or even when she disarmed the gun there's almost no expression as if the animations hadn't even been done or BioWare is just really, really sloppy. I just read a new GameSpot interview with Mac and the first thing they asked was regarding the lacking animations and whether the game really was coming out soon; there's cause for concern. Mac explains that they're in this stage of development where all the final touches that really matter are being done and as typically done (according to him) facial animations are done late due to voice work being put in and stuff, but didn't we have some pretty solid scenes from Mass Effect 3's E3 demo with all that in place, representative of the final product's quality more than half a year from release back in 2011? I'm not really buying it in regards to Andromeda. It seems like they're getting things done in the last minute unless the footage in the gameplay trailer was months old.

Aaryn Flynn in the Game Informer interview said as of December they're aiming for Spring, but that it's "not Hell or high water," and if his team feels delay is necessary, they will delay.
Sounded like a 80% chance it'll be March, 20% chance of delay to me.

I would like to know where this March release date come from. Has any BW devs confirmed that or it is just made up by the fans? Spring can go up to the 21st of June...just saying.

Ive heard rumors of it potentially being pushed back given the fact they're starting to reveal things about the game over the past moth or so since N7 day and such I don' t think there will be any more delays unless they find something serious that needs more work. I have a feeling they are heading for a March release and that's what they'll stick too. Especially as I'v e also heard that they're pretty much done with the game and they'er just polishing and checking for bugs. We may get a little more before Christmas or shortly after so that we get a little bit each month then that is an extra indicator in that they're building up the hype for release. After all we are starting to see info being dropped in short timespans now so to me atm it's starting to look that way and that we're not too far from release. I just hope I'm right.

In the newest post about ME:A on their official site, they use now the term "Early2017". June would be way too late to consider it Early, more like Mid-2017. In my guessing, Early 2017 now means March-April 2017.

I was wondering if someone was about to post this. Exactly. And since the series acts as a prequel and concurrent with Andromeda, it would make sense to release the books after Andromeda. That's what EA said they would do months ago, and this looks to be further confirmation of a March release date.

When does the first one come out? 28th March... ok... ... ... 28th MARCH!? But that would indicate, that... F- YES!!!

Why would they release the books before Andromeda and space them out so sporadically unless Andromeda had been released by that time? Maybe Bioware will confirm the release date right before or right after the upcoming beta. This late in development and the books almost confirm the release date. Party time, motherfuckers!

Yea, finally after over 4 years... this beautiful gem is nearing its release. 4 years of development and 5 years since ME3. Finally. Indeed I need some more ME myself been alternating between playing DA and ME almost tconstantly since Inquisition's release 2 years ago. |Will feel great to add a new ME story to that pack. Not long to go. Hopefully we'll get a confirmed date soon then. Hopefully before Christmas or shortly after I'd have thought. Certainly Early to mid January at the latest we'll get confirmation on a date.

Again they said Spring, they never said March, people made up the March release because they assumed that the artbook and the game should come out at the same date. However this could not be the case as EA said in an interview they have no problem delaying the game if BW feels the need for it. Even assuming they intended to release it on March (even though this is our assumptions) they (BW and EA) conveniently picked Spring 2017 as a release date which would shield them from saying openly that the game was delayed because technically it's Spring till the 21st of June. I agree with you though that the fact they didn't announced the game date means they are going to release it later than March. I'm more inclined to a late April or early May release. I might be wrong though. Actually they just started saying Spring 2017. Before then it was early 2017. Early 2017 is Jan - March. The spring launch has basically just been added, which means it probably got delayed and they just don't want to say that it was.

I'm sure someone has pointed this out, but 21st of March is 3/21 in the American date system, which would be used as the "3...2...1...liftoff" advertising gimmick.

I'm actually really worried, this might be general fear mongering, but I'm very hopeful that they're not going to release the game earlier then desired because of EA's demands, and I'm extra worried that they're going to sacrifice the PC port in order to release it early.
All of BW's games had pretty good ports, and frostbite is a very optimized engine, but I've been stung too many times the last few years.

JK In all seriousness, I disagree but I see your point. Except that EA is the publisher and Bioware is the developer and despite what EA says, they can very well force Bioware to ship the game out on a whim.

All of BW's games had pretty good ports, and frostbite is a very optimized engine, but I've been stung too many times the last few years. *Grabs torch and pitchfork* Fearmongerer! JK In all seriousness, I disagree but I see your point. Except that EA is the publisher and Bioware is the developer and despite what EA says, they can very well force Bioware to ship the game out on a whim. the last time EA forced to publish an unfinished product was battlefield 4 in 2013. since then i have not read about any products that were plain bad optimized or anything and i doubt thats going to happen to mass effect, at least not with the first "revive" attempt.
